More than 50 characteristics in BEx Analyzer

Is some solution to display more than 50 characteristics in BEx Analyzer?
I’ve got messege:
“Diagnosis
The maximum number of drilldown characteristics is restricted to a value
    of 50”

Are you using any Customer Exit variable for that particular characteristic??
Is this shown for all the Characteristics having more than 50 values???

  • Problem with the display sequence of free characteristics in Bex Analyzer

    Hello,
I want to display free characteristics in particular sequence in Bex Analyzer.
I have arranged free characteristics in particular sequence in bex designer but while executing the report from analyzer
free characteristics are not getting displayed in the sequence in which i wanted to display it in query output.
Could you please let me know what setting needs to be done in order to display free characteristics in required sequence in bex analyzer.
    Regards,
    Sanjay

    Hi Sanjay:
Please observe that the sequence of Characteristics in BEx Analyzer is Alphabetic (in ascending order), I faced a similar situation once and I solved it by adding a prefix to the Characteristic Name at the query level, for example.
    Customer
    Distribution Channel
    Division
    Month
    Sales Organization
    Year
    Could be sorted this way.
    A01. Year

  • BEx Analyzer versus BEx Web Analyzer and BIA performance

    Hi Experts,
Recently I tested the performance of a few of our queries running off Infocubes with indexes loaded to the BIA and I noticed some differences in performance when using BEx Web Analyzer versus BEx Analyzer in Excel.  Seems that when using the Web Analyzer the query returned the result at a much faster rate than when using BEx Analyzer in Excel.  I did notice that the slow point in Excel is at the "Formatting Results Areas" stage.  This can take up a long time to complete.  My question is, does anyone else experience this?  What could be the cause?  Is this normal behaviour?  Any recommendation to solve this?
    Thanks very much.

    Hi David,
Yes, Excel-based BEx Analyzer is almost always slower then Web (and especially on 3.x tools), and it has not much to BIA.
For web - formatting is happening on  the BI server and then result is transferred to end-user machine in one shot (or as many shots as individual MIMEs to transfer). For Excel - first you have a transfer of data set to your PC (that might require several round-trips) and then formatting is all on the PC.
    Possible ways to improve:
    1) Check that your anti-virus does not impact opening excel workbook
    2) Upgrade PC hardware (absolutely seriously)
    3) Switch off formatting of workbook or at least remove exceptions and total/subtotal lines.

  • How to select more than one free characteristics in web report?

    Hi,
From the performance point of view, I want to select more than one free characteristics to be displayed in WEB report.
I know in BEx Analyzer, we can do this by right mouse click and choose' query property' from the context menu, all the free characteristics are displayed in the popup window. But in WEB report these free char don't displayed in the 'query property' popup window.
Could anyone tell me how to implement this in WEB report?
    Eileen

    Hi,
each free characteristics in the list has two functions beside it, 'drilldown in rows' and 'drilldown in columns', but this functions as select only one free characteristics, each time you select one, the report will be loaded again.
if I want to select like 10 free characteristics, the report will be refreshed and reloaded 10 times.
my question is that how can I select these 10 free characteristics once to improve the performance.
your help will be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Not able to display more than 65k records in Bex report.

    Hi Experts,
I have requirement for the Bex report to display more than 65k records..
Please help me on this.. i am feed up of get proper update for this..
Its urgent.. pls help on this

    Hi,
The Excel 2007 have a limit of 1,048,576 rows, unfortunately SAP cannot export more than 65.536 rows that is an exiting limitation exporting to Excel files.
The note 700206 explains the MAX Size Limit for XXL Export, and it's
not possible to increase this limit. XXL Export is generic export
utility to export the list object from SAP to Excel and it cannot
work differently for different Excel releases.
I would emphasizes the purpose of BEx Analyzer: it is not a tool for the
mass extraction of data, but it is a viewer/navigator tool for data.
For huge exports like the one mentioned SAP offers Open Hub as a 3rd
party tool. You can have more details in the url below:

  • BeX-Analyzer - color more levels of hierarchy

    Hi,
i have a hierarchie with 10 levels and i would like to give each level a different color. Using Analyzer i am only able to set different colors for the first 4 levels. Excel offers the following style sheets for this:
    SAPBEXHLevel0
    SAPBEXHLevel1
    SAPBEXHLevel2
    SAPBEXHLevel3
Is it possible to have more style sheets like:
    SAPBEXHLevel4
    SAPBEXHLevel5
    Thanks,
    Holger

well, defining my own style sheet wouldn´t help much, because the problem is that BeX Analyzer marks all hierarchy levels bigger than 4 with SAPBEXHLevel3. If i define a style sheet for SAPBEXHLevel4 this wouldn´t work, because the elements of hierarchy level 5 are still marked with SAPBEXHLevel3. Somehow i need to tell BeX Analyzer to mark level 5 elements with style sheet SAPBEXHLevel4, level 6 elements with SAPBEXHLevel5 etc...i guess this is done somewhere in the SAPBEX-Add-In?

  • Show more than 5 column in web analyzer

    dear all,
how can i set web analyzer to show more than 5 column , for examples all kfigures in one page?
    thanks

    Hi John,
    Open the Web Application Designer.
Open the 0Analysis_Pattern file. (This is the default template for Web Analyzer)
    On Properties panel select Analysis(Grid)
    Select Web Item Parameters Tab
    Look for Paging section.
On Number of Data Columns displayed at once change from 4 to 16
On Number of Data Rows displayed at once change from 10 to 100
    Finally Save the 0Analysis_Pattern file.
The 0Analysis_Pattern is included in the Business Content. So, if necesary you can recover the original version.
    Hope it helps.

  • BEx: Too many calculations in a formula (). No more than 2000 allowed

    Hi Experts,
I am into this really huge BEx report with 150+ rows and 10 columns. I have written enormous amounts of formulas as well as selections inside cells. Now while generating the report in RSRT (taking the technical information) I am receiving this particular error.
Too many calculations in a formula (). No more than 2000 allowed.
    Message no. BRAIN538
Now my doubt is, will it be ok if i simply reduce the number of formulas being used? Or is the error message talkign about the number of variables used in all formulas together? Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Arun.

    Hi,
The note 1394944 doesn't solve the issue, but it gives information on what actually happened. In my case the said note was already available in the BI version. The issue was that BEx allow only a maximum of 2000 variables in formulas in a query. So I had to restructure the whole query.

    Arun.

  • BEx Analyzer: Exchange characteristics with design item "Button"

    Hello everyone,
I am creating a workbook with the BEx Analyzer. The user should be able to exchange one characteristic with another one by a button click (e.g. replace the drilldown of characteristic product group by a drilldown of customers).
I inserted a button in the design mode and edited it with the command wizard.
In the area for the static parameters I inserted the following:
    Name/Index/Value
    DATA_PROVIDER/1/DP_1
    CMD/1/EXCHANGE
    IOBJNM_1/1/Product Group
    IOBJNM_2/1/Customer
I tried several variations of this, but they all didn't work.
Does anyone know how to define such a command?
Thanks in advance for your answer,
    Rainer

    Hi,
Button Design item is used to perform three types of functionalities
    1. Workbook specific Commands : these are helpful in performing any changes or navigations in the workbook. For example moving from one sheet to another on the click of the button can be realised.
    2. Planning Specific Commands : these are used mostly when a planning scenario is realized using the Bex workbook. Planning commands usually would be to save data in the workbook created on an input ready query to the plan cube, or to execute a planning function or a sequence.
    3. Data provider specific commands : Commands used to change data based on a spcfiic dataprovider.
Let me know if you are looking at anything else other than this.

  • Want to display BEX report output more than 65000 rows

    Hi all,
I want to run a report in BW which has more than 65000 lines. Currently it tells me there is no space. How can I solve the issue please?
user is using BW 3.5 excel 2007
    GUI version is 7100.2.9.1039
    patch level 9
    please advise.
    thanks

    Hi,
Can you try to remove some of the columns of your query.
My doubt , is the no. rows is actually killing the report or the population of higher column also may cause the issue.
try to make a copy of you report, and then remove the charecteristics, keep 1-2 and all KFs. Then run and check for the o/p.
Is it getting over the 65k reows  ?
    Thank-You.
