Most recent jar file

What is the difference between the mail-1.4.jar and the javamail.jar file and various other flavors I find out there? Which is the most recent, and which should I be using if still back on jdk 1.5?

No official version of JavaMail is named "javamail.jar".
The most recent version is 1.4.2 and is available from the [JavaMail web site|http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/].
It will work on JDK 1.4 and newer.

  • Most Recent Used File List

    Hi,
    Does anyone know how to create List of most recent used files and display it in the main menu?
    Has anyone done that?
    Currently, I am opening one file at the time and I have the last
    path of opened file.
    thanx !

    You could recurse over the file system, creating a bunch of File objects, which you'd stick into a List. Then create a comparator that sorts the objects by File.lastModified() value, descending.
    Then you'd have a sorted list, from which you could easily take the N most recent files.
    Of course, the recursing would take a while. You may want to put creation and/or updating of this list, into a low priority thread.

    Offhand, you'll have to do it the hard way. I don't think Swing or Awt provide a default JMenuItem(), MenuItem() that does the file list. Now that you mention it, it does seem like an interesting project to do.
    You essentially need an array of the files, and for each file, create the associated menu entry, as in:
    String entryName = files[ i ];
    if ( entryName.length > 10 ) {
       entryName = entryName.subString( 0, 10 );
    JMenuItem entry = new JMenuItem( i + ". " + entryName );
    ...and define the event listeners however appropriate for your application.

  • Merging folders, most recent dated files

    Does anyone know how I can merge two folders with mostly the same file names so that the most recent ones are collected into another folder...and if there are any other files not duplicated, they are added also?
    I looked at FileMerge but there seems to be users saying it is unreliable. Any shareware or other applications would be appreciated.
    I do not use terminal.
    Thanks.

    You might consider Chronosync (which I haven't used):

  • How do I edit the Screen Sharing 'Most Recently Used' files list ?

    I have recently added a mac mini to the network at home, and will be using this as a headless device. I am connecting remotely (using screen sharing) which works well. I have set the Sceeen Sharing icon to remain permanently visible on the dock, ad by right clicking, I get a list of the most recently used shares.
    The trouble is, that some of theses shares no longer exist, and tghere is also some duplication.
    I would like to edit this list, but cannot find out how to do it.
    Can anyone help please ?
    Thanks

    PS - The same principle applies to a number of other programs that retaim n MRU lst on their dock icon - how can these be edited.

    This doesn't apply to me anymore.

  • Cannot locate my most recent domain file

    Hello,
    I opened an older site in iweb that I designed a few years back, then closed it (made no changes). It was saved as a separate domain file. Now when I open iweb, it automatically opens that domain file. I have several more recent website designs that I now cannot locate. WTH??? Please someone tell me they are hiding out somewhere and I have not lost them to a technology error! Certainly it would not have saved an old domain file over a new one without at least a "hey stupid" warning???? Please help! I have no idea how I would even go about reconstructing.

    What I do is rename the domain files to match the website it contains, i.e. toadstutorials.sites2, etc.
    So rename any existing domain files to match what they contain.
    When you create a new domain file it will be named domain.sites2.  Once you close iWeb go to your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and rename that new domain file.  This way you won't be overwriting any domain file with a new one.  That'a just one approach to using that application. Using that application is more important if you're running Lion than it is when running Snow Leopard.  I just find it a convenient way to quickly change the domain file to be opened by iWeb.

  • Terminal command to find most recently opened files

    Hello,
    I have a terminal command (bash) that will find the last opened file (singular) from a given directory.  "$(ls -t | head -n1)"
    I want to be able to search for multiple "last opened" files, say 20; I also want to be able to search either all user files, or at least direct the command to search within subfolders of a  top level folder.
    Can anyone help.  I'd appreciate it!  Thanks.

    This will find all files last used today. Reference. File Meta Data attributes. Curious about a file … mdls filename.

  • When I sort by date added in Column View in Finder, how can I make the most recent files appear at the top of the list?(Mavericks)

    In 10.8, when I sorted Finder by date added or date created in column view, the most recent files would appear at the top of the list. Currently, this happens as it should in every single view mode EXCEPT column view (which is pretty much the only view I ever use). Currently, I have a folder with over 2000 files in it that date back to 2011, so now I have to scroll for like ten minutes just te get to files that were most recently added. Who in their right mind would want to sort by last modified with the oldest result listed FIRST? Ridiculous. I can't figure this out. Any help?

    Thanks for the reply leroydouglas! Unfurtunately this doesn't cause the column to be ordered correctly either. After selecting this option, the files seem to be ordered by label, and the most recently added file is somewhere in the middle of the list. I'd like it to be at the top, and have other files/folders descend in retrochronological order by their add date.
    Any other input from the community would be greatly appreciated, even if it's just confirming that this is/is not expected behavior. I'd be super bummed to find out that this IS expected behavior, as it's really counterintuitive and extremely inconvenient.
    Thanks again!

  • Blurry photo files in 2 of my most recent Collections folder

    I'm using Windows 8 and Lightroom 5. This morning when attempting to click on the Lightroom icon I received a message that Lightroom could not be found. Once I finally got Lightroom open I have found that all of the photo files in 2 of my collections are blurry while in the Library Module. When moving to the Develop Module it indicates that the folder could not be located for the photograph. All of my files are kept on an external hard-drive and only these 2 collections are blurry and they are the most recent photo files that I have worked with.

    I restored the macbook from a time machine backup. Everything seems to work fine. Disk scans don't show errors and the weird sounds during shutdown are gone...
    I still don't really trust the hard drive, though.

  • Get most recent backup completed within last week

    Hi.  I need your help with this...
    I want to get a list of the most recent .bak files created in the last week.  I need to select [database_name] and [backup_finish_date] from msdb..backupset and [physical_device_name] from msdb..backupmediafamily tables. So if any database was backed
    up AT LEAST ONCE in the last week, I want to list the most recent .bak file for that database.  If the most recent backup was more than a week old, I'm assuming it isn't being backed up on a regular basis, and I exclude it from the list.  I
    think this requires a join of backupset and backupmediamedia tables, and use of MAX function to get the latest file, but I can't put it together.
    Thanks!

    Try
    WITH cte
    AS (
    SELECT T1.NAME AS DatabaseName
    ,T2.backup_finish_date AS BackupDate
    ,T2.user_name AS UserName
    ,MF.physical_device_name
    ,RANK() OVER (
    PARTITION BY T1.NAME ORDER BY T2.backup_finish_date DESC
    ) AS Rn
    FROM sys.databases T1
    JOIN msdb.dbo.backupset T2
    JOIN msdb.dbo.backupmediafamily MF ON T2.media_set_id = MF.media_set_id ON T2.database_name = T1.NAME WHERE T2.backup_finish_date >= dateadd(week, - 1, CURRENT_TIMESTAMP)
    SELECT *
    FROM cte
    WHERE rn = 1
    ORDER BY DatabaseName

  • Most recently used documents

    How do I delete the MRU files within StarOffice 6.0? Is there a way to configure the program so that a file's location and file is not displayed under the "Files" menu?

    Hi
    The history of loaded URLs (ie the most recently used documents) are saved in the file "Common.xml". This file can be found in the directory:
    " \StarOffice6.0\user\config\registry\instance\org\openoffice\ Office\ "
    To delete these entries, load the file in a text editor and find the "<History>" entry. Delete all lines in the file up to the entry "</History>" (i.e., all entries between "<History>" and "</History>").
    This will also delete all entries in the URL history as well as all entries in the picklist (the list of the most recently used files found in the File menu).
    Important:
    This procedure involves manual intervention to the configuration of StarOffice. It can occur that if the wrong entries are deleted, StarOffice will no longer be able to function correctly. Please remember that all manual intervention to the configuration files is the sole responsibility of the user. In this particular case, any mishaps that may result to the program cannot be supported or guaranteed.
    If the above does not work, please let us know. Thanks!

  • Time Machine Not Backing Up Recently Saved Files

    I frequently work form home and need to access files that have been saved on my Time Machine Backup. The problem that I am having is that although I backup just before I leave the office, when I get home and open the file from the latest backup, it is out of date.
    I have only noticed this problem with Quark files (I'm running Quark 8.162), but that might just be because this is the program that I am working in 95% of the time, so it may not just be these files.
    This is a huge problem for me for this reason. Imagine I am working on a brochure in Quark at the office, I have just finished making a few last minute amends to the file before it goes to print and send off a pdf to the client for final approval. I then need to leave for the day so I do a quick Time Machine backup and go home. When I get home, I receive approval from the client to go to print so I open the most recent file on my backup and export a high resolution pdf to send to the printer. Now imagine that although the backup ran fine, the most recent Quark file on my Backup is out of date by a few hours! That is what is happening to me, and this could basically bankrupt me if I send a file to print for half a million copies and the amends that the client approved are not on the file I've used from my backup.
    Please Help!

    As Thomas says, that might be some sort of quirk with the app you're using. And, if the file in question hadn't been saved to disk, it cannot be backed-up.
    See #D5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum) for some other possibilities.
    . . . so I open the most recent file on my backup and export a high resolution pdf to send to the printer.
    I think Thomas is assuming you're doing that either via the Finder or the app in question. If so, he's correct that it's not the recommended way to use your backups.
    Time Machine uses a complex structure, and special permissions, on the backups. Some kinds of files can be browsed via the "Star Wars" display, but to view other types of files, or actually use anything in your backups, they must be restored somewhere.
    The problem with the Finder is, it's quite easy to accidentally move, change, or delete something that way, and that can corrupt your backups.
    If you try to use a 3rd-party app with files on your backups, it probably can't open them, but if it can, it may alter something there, which can also cause corruption.

    It sounds like you have one computer at work, a different one at home, and are carrying a portable external drive containing your backups between the two.
    If so, restore the file you need to your home computer, then make the PDF from it.
    Or, make a second partition on the backup drive. Before leaving work, copy the file in question from your work computer to the other partition. Then use that version to make and export the PDF.

  • HT1414 I'm trying to restore from an earlier backup but my iphone only shows the most recent. I'm on Windows Vista and found the backup folder. If I delete the recent files, will it force the iPhone to backup from the next older file?  Why doesn't it show

    I'm trying to recover a file and the app company said to restore from an earlier backup.  My iPhone only shows the most recent backup.  I've been searching the net for answers - I found the back up file and date sorted them (over 6mb of files).  How can I get my iPhone to restore from an earlier backup?
    I am on Windows Vista so I don't have Time Machine.
    I have backed up the backup folder so if I mess it up, I have it in a separate place.
    Can I just delete all the files with todays date in that backup folder and have it forced to the next oldest date?
    Why doesn't the iPhone show a list of the least several backups.
    Info:
    iPhone 4S
    Software version  5.1.1
    Backed up to computer through iTunes (not iCloud)

    As you backup the iPhone in iTunes, it overwrites the last backup. Files are kept as they are changed, so that would explain how you get different dates in your backup folder. The only backups that are saved and not overwritten are the ones done just prior to a restore. You do have the option to go back in time on a Windows computer, however depending on the last time you set a restore point in Windows, it could be back further than you are willing to go.
