Most Significant way of Passing a PMString between a panel and a Dialog

I am calling a dialog from a Panel when a certain button on the panel is clicked,
In the Dialog I have an Edit Box, User can write any Strig in that Edit box and when he clicks on OK button Dialog closes and I want that string once the control is back on the panel.
so i need to know which is the most significat way to acheive this, Should i use DataExchanger or something else to be used here in this case.
Thanks,
Rizwan

IDialog.h:
/* Place the dialog on the screen. You can pass in the owner panel (i.e. the panel who opens the dialog). This will make the panel available in the dialog controller. */
virtual void Open(IControlView* ownerPanel = nil) = 0;
IDialogController.h
/* Get the owner panel of this dialog. */
virtual IControlView* GetOwner() const = 0;
You could for example add any string data interface to your panel's boss for storage.

Continuity requires OS X and iOS. At least one of the devices you mention is lacking those... So no.

You can keep the same Apple ID for purchases, but set up her own iCloud account for email and syncing.
You can easily and effectively use the same ID for purchases.
What you do is use the apple ID you have been using for app/book/movie/music purchases. In Settings > Store, make sure you are using your usual apple ID.
Then, set up an icloud (@me.com) account for you on your phone, and one for your daughter on her phone. In Settings > iCloud, make sure each of you are using your new iCloud accounts, and not your Apple ID.
Also, in Settings > Messages > Receive At, make sure you are using your iCloud accounts
This way, all of your purchases are using one account, and you can effectively use iCloud.

  • Dust speck between LCD panel and backlight?

Hello fellas, I suddenly see an anomaly on my 1-week old MacBook Pro. I'm not an expert, but it doesn't look like a dead/stuck pixel:
    - It doesn't look like a clean pixel; it looks like a pixel "out of focus".
    - When I compare it to a real pixel, it looks like it's "behind" the active display - perhaps between the panel and the backlight?
    Any insight?

    Hi
I have the identical issue. It appears the LCD has a "backlight" and the backlight has stuck or off pixels. I too have MacBook Pro - mine is a dual 2.16 (duocore) with 2 GB ram. The backlight spots (they definately look like little areas of no light emitted) are not exactly regular like a pixel. The previous answer post is incorrect in that it states the LCD is a single layer - it is not - these spots are definately behind the image and are definately fuzzy spots of low or no emission different from teh image itself.
Any ideas? Any help? At least it is under warranty but I use it every day so I hate tosend it in for repair.

  • Best way to pass secure data between servers

    Hello,
In the not to distant future my company wants to expand our
site to include a single sign-on, this will be made possible with
the 3rd party group that handles our customer info. Can someone
enlighten me as the most secure method of transferring user data
    between these locations?
What has been proposed is to pass the login from our site to
the 3rd party, if successful pass back certain data, display and
possibly update on our site and then pass this back to the 3rd
    party server.
Is CFLogin the most powerful method for login? I've used
query checks in the past, is that adequate or is CFLogin much
    better? Any pointers are appreciated.

"Is CFLogin the most powerful method for login? I've used
    query checks
in the past, is that adequate or is CFLogin much better?"
Neither, CFLogin is really just a specific purpose IF block.
    Code
within the opening and closing <cflogin...> tags is run
    when a user is
not logged in with the <cfloginuser...> tag. Inside
    this block one
still needs to validate the credentials provided by the user,
    often with
    a query check.
    The <cflogin...><cfloginuser...> combination
    provides an easy to
interpret and use mechanism to run conditional code and
    persist a user
login state from request to request. It is basically
    equivalent to ones
own <cfif...> logic combined with session data for the
    user state.
Under the hood it is using the same mechanisms.
I usually prefer to roll my own solution because I often want
    to store
more state data about a user then is allowed with the
    <cfloginuser...>
tag and the related getAuthUser() and isUserInRole()
    functions.

  • What is the most efficient way of passing large amounts of data through several subVIs?

I am acquiring data at a rate of once every 30mS. This data is sorted into clusters with relevant information being grouped together. These clusters are then added to a queue. I have a cluster of queue references to keep track of all the queues. I pass this cluster around to the various sub VIs where I dequeue the data. Is this the most efficient way of moving the data around? I could also use "Obtain Queue" and the queue name to create the reference whenever I need it.
Or would it be more efficient to create one large cluster which I pass around? Then I can use unbundle by index to pick off the values I need. This large cluster can have all the values individually or it co
uld be composed of the previously mentioned clusters (ie. a large cluster of clusters).

It sounds pretty good the way you have it. In general, you want to sort
these into groups that make sense to you. Then if there is a
performance problem, you can arrange them so that it is a bit better for
the computer, but lets face it, our performance counts too. Anyway,
this generally means a smallish number of groups with a reasonable
number of references or objects in them. If you need to group them into
one to pass somewhere, bundle the clusters together and unbundle them on
the other side to minimize the connectors needed. Since the references
are four bytes, you don't need to worry about the performance of moving
    these around anyway.

  • Ways of passing values/attributes between Portlets of pageflow

    Hi
Jusing Bea WebLogic Workshop 8.1.5 where i have one Portal.
    The portalt contains:
    Page A with A.portlet with A.jpf and a.jsp
    Page B with B.portlet with B.jpf and b.jsp
I want to click on a link on a.jsp which then goes to A.action in A.jpf,
then redirect to Page B which then start B.portlet and then start begin
    action in B.jpf
and begin action on B.jpf gets the values that I got from link i a.jpf.
How are the different ways to pass the values from A.portlet to another
    B.portlet
and that the coresponding .jpf files can get the values. I can not get the
    values to passed .
One way to solve this is to use session scope to store values in A.jpf and
then get it from session scope in B.jpf. I dont want that, because it then I
have to remove it to avoid trash in the session.

  • Are there significant changes in the UI framework between 5.2 and 2007 ?

    Hi,
As the UI framework got introduced in 5.2 . Are there significant changes to the framework between 5.2 and 2007.
Therefore could a developer with experience in 5.2 carry out developments within the UI framework for 2007?
These developments need to be carried out to integrate a third party solution .
    Regards
    Manbir

    Hi Manbir,
have worked with 5.1 and 5.2 before switching to 6.0.
I did not notice many changes in the framwork. Most of it still seems to be ICWC anyway.
    - SAP has added some new BAdI's,
    - there seems to be a lot of additional logic regarding webservices
    - there are some new UI gimmicks (Move Assignmentblocks, Configuriation directly in the client, sortable tableviews, etc.)
    - the designlayer (did not notice it before)
    - component enhancements (I believe they were there in 5.2)
    - editable overviewpages, i.e. extensive use of the view_group_context
So yes, when you have done 5.2 before, you will know your way aroung most things and be better off then 90% of the people starting with 6.0

  • Is there a way of passing a mixed cluster of numbers and booleans to teststand

    Hi,
I have a labview VI that contains an output cluster containing both numeric and boolean results and would like to pass this to Teststand. At the moment I have coverted all my boolean results to  '1/0'  so that I can create a numeric array and can quite easily pass this to Teststand (using multiple numeric limit test).
Is there a way to pass mixed results to Teststand and write in the limits (example PASS and GT 5V) or do I have to stick with what I have?
    Chris

Which test step type to use depends on what you have to analyze - a boolean condition? String? Number(s)? I can't tell you because I don't know what's in your cluster. If you click on the plus sign next to the parameter name "output cluster" you will see all paramters and their types, which are passed from the VI to TestStand.
You can either create a variable for the whole cluster, or you can assign all or just some values from within the cluster to variables.
The name of the variable (Locals.xxxxxxx... or FileGlobals.xxxxx...) ist what you type in the value field. You can also choose the variable from the expression browser by clicking on the f(x) button.
Are you new to TestStand, do you know how to work with variables in TS?
Maybe the attached picture gives you an example, there I am assigning the values from VI output "VoltageOutputArray" to the TS variable locals.VoltageMeasurement.
This variable ist used again on the tab "Data Source" as the Data Source Expression.

  • Is there a way to trace a line between point A and B in a PowerMap

    Hi there,
I have a simple question about PowerMap. Can I trace a line between points A and B? Please bear in mind that a workaround to create hundreds/thousands of points to simulate a line would NOT work for me (like this tutorial
here -- this is a no-no for me).
Any ideas if this is possible? If not, then consider it a feature request :-)
    Regards,
    P.

Sorry but I think you are missing the point here.
You added several yellow points to make this line. This isn't a line but a bunch of dots. I mentioned in my original question that unfortunately this is an unacceptable kludge for me.
Consider this. you only have 3 to 5 of those dots, from Athens to Melbourne -- and I want a line between each one of those 3 to 5 dots, connecting them. NOT several dots that looks like a line -- that is cheating (and contra-productive in a real-life scenario)
    Regards,
    P.
It's not possible. You can make feature requests using the Smile/Frown Feedback button in the UI.

  • What is the most efficient way to pass LV data to a dll?

For efficiency, this question primarily becomes important when passing large arrays, structures containing large arrays, or generally, any large block of data to a dll.
The way the dll setup appears and the .c file it create for the dll call, it appears that labVIEW directly passes data in whatever native passing format LV requires without copying the actual data if you select the "Adapt to Type" as the "Type" option. If I pass an array, for example, the .c file contains the type definition of a labVIEW array, i.e., (size, data), and depending whether I select handle or handle pointer, the data passed is either a handle or handle pointer to the array. Likewise, if I pass a LV structure, the .c file will con
tain the typedef to the structure and the data passed is either a pointer, or pointer to a pointer. These are, I believe, labVIEW native types and do not require copying.
On the other hand if an array is passed as an array type, then it is converted to a C array that requires LV to copy the array on both sides of the call.
I further assume all structures can be passed to the memory manager to be manipulated, although I'm actually not sure that you could resize an array pointer in the dll. That seems a bit dubious, but then I guess upon return LV could query the memory manager to determine the array pointer size.
Thats how I would think things work. If not, could someone please correct me?
    Kind regards,
    Eric

    Eric,
Let me tell you something about me too...
I've been working with LabVIEW for (just) 4 years. That is, 40 hours a week
professionally, 10 hours a week privatelly. I've started with LV4, and went
through all versions and revisions until 6.0.2 (6.1 will come soon, but
first I have to finish some major projects.
During this time I've been working on lots of interfaces with the windows
OS. Some 'dll' things I've worked on: OpenGL interface, MSXML driver,
keyboard hooks, mouse hooks, GDI interfacing, calling LV dll's from
assembler, calling assembler dll's from LV, creating threads, using serial
interrupts, etc. I'm now (also) working on a way to automatically generate
documentation (much more then the 'export VI stings') from a VI. This
requires 'under the hood' knowledge about how VI's work.
When I had to make a fast routine for a project one time, I choose
assembler, because I had this knowledge. Also, I wanted to use pure SIMD
opperations. The operation had to modify an array of DBL's. The SIMD uses
the same format (IEEE 754, I think), so it was easy. But when it came to
testing, it appeard that the routine only paid off if the routine was 'long'
enough. The routine was n*O^2, where n was a parameter. When the array was
large, and n small, the overhead of copiing the array to modifiable memory
was relativelly large, and the LV routine was faster.
When I get a pointer to a LV array, I can use this pointer to modify the
data in the array. This can (I think) only be done if LV copied this data,
just like LV is doing when a wire is split to be modified.
It might be that this copiing can be prevented, e.g. by using other data
types, or fiddling with threads and reentrance... If you want to optimally
benefit from dll's I'd look for a way to keep the data in the dll space, or
pass it once at initialisation. You could use CreateHeap, HeapAlloc,
AllocGlobal, and other functions. You can use these functions in LV, or in
the dll. Once you have a pointer to the (one and only) data space, you can
use this to pass to the dll functions.
I think LV does not show the memory in question in the profiler, but I'm not
    sure.
Using the "Adapt to type" option might just result in a internal convertion
during 'compile' time, and might be exactly the same as doing it yourself.
Perhaps you can share a bit about the application you are making, or at
least why you need the speed you are seeking?
    Regards,
    Wiebe.

    Greg,
There are two relevant documents which are distributed with labVIEW,
in labVIEW 6i, (hey, I'll get around to upgrading), the first is
titled, "Using External Code in LabVIEW", the second is application
    note 154, "LabVIEW Data Formats".
Actually, a statement Wiebe@air made on my previous question regarding
dll calls, "Do dll calls monopolize the calling thead?" provoked this
line of questions. Based on other things he has said, I gather he is
also using dlls. So as long as we're here let me ask the next
    question...
If labVIEW must make a copy of the passed data, does it show up as
additional memory blocks in the vi profiler? In other words, can you
use the profiler to infer what labVIEW is doing, or as you put it,
infer whether there is a clever passing method available?
    As a personal note Greg:
First, as a one time engineering student and teaching assistant, I
don't recall hearing or using the terms "magical", or "clever". Nor I
might add, do I find them in print elsewhere in technical journals.
While I don't mind NI marketing in their marketing documents, used
here in this mostly educational forum, they strike me as arrogant,
    and/or pompous.
I like NI's products because they work and are reliable. I doubt it
has anything to do with magic, has somewhat more to do with being
clever, but is mostly due to the dogmatic persistence of your
engineers. I rather doubt any of them adjoin the term "magical" or
even "clever" to their solutions. I believe the term "best" is
generally accepted with the qualifier "I've or we've found". At
least, that has been my engineering experience.
Second, many of my questions I can sort out on my own, but I figure as
long as your willing to answer the questions, then your answers are
generally available to others. The problem is that one question seems
to lead to another and specific information gets buried in a rather
lengthy discourse. When I come here with a specific question, it
would be nice to find it asked and answered specifically rather than
buried in the obscurity of some other question. As such, at some
point in these discussions it might be appropriate to reframe a
question and put at the top. In my opinion, that decision is
primarily yours as you have a better feel for the redundancy of
    questions asked and/or your answers.
Anyway, the next question I'm posting at the top is, "Do the handles
passed to a dll have to be locked down to insure other threads don't
    move the data?"
    Thanks,
    Kind Regards,
    Eric

  • What is the better way to pass input parameters between components?

    Hi all,
I had a dispute with a colleague about passing data between different WDP Development Components. The situation is like this:
Colleague has a SearchWDP (parent) und I have a BrowseWDP (child). After searching for some objects and clicking a hit in the SearchWDP, the corresponding details should be shown in BrowseWDP, via passing a bunch of parameters such as selected item's id, etc.
Now which of the following is the better practice:
    - Defining a node in BrowseWDP (child) with isInputParameter set to TRUE, creating a similar node from the same type (simply via ModelBinding, both WDPs are using the same model) in SearchWDP, and defining a mapping between them so that SearchWDP fills the input nodes. From BrowserWDPs perspective, I'd call this Pull method.
    or...
    - Defining a node in BrowseWDP (child) with isInputParameter set to FALSE, creating a setter method in BrowseWDP Interface Controller for the collection (to be passed as parameters) and calling a wdContext.nodeBlaBla().bind(pInputParameterFromModelType). From BrowserWDPs perspective, I'd call this Push method.
The colleague's argumentation in favor of Push has not convinced me at all and I'd like to ask your opinions. Is there a best practice or recommendation for this scenario? TIA
ps: Any answer will be rewarded.

    Hi Cuneyt,
Refer the links below, they are very informative!

These links are a part of the WebDynpro ABAP documentation, but the concepts are same for WDA and WDJ.
Considering your scenario, I would recommend the first alternative you have mentioned (if you refer the second link its called External Context Mapping), where component controller context node of component A (SearchWDP) is the source for Interface controller context (same name) of component B (BrowseWDP).
    Thanks.

  • How to Pass Java Objects between Web Dynpro and Java SAP iViews

Basically I have an SAP web dynpro iView that I do stuff with and I want to pass an object to another iView which is just a regular Java iView. From what I've read and tried, I can't just stick something in the session object and hope that the Java iView can pull it down the other end. I had a dream that it was possible (seriously).
Anyway, are there any possible solutions around? Please advice and share you throughts. I will try to dream about it again tonight and see if its really gonna work this time.
thanks for your help in advance

There is no easy way you can pass objects other than those supported by express such as String, map, list etc.
Though not advised, you can create a class with static variables to handle the storage of such java objects during transition between form and workflow. You will need to somehow identify the objects uniquely .

  • Pass table rowtype between java class and PL/SQL package

I am a complete newbie when it comes to java itself but I've been asked to investigate the possibility of passing a rowtype datatype from a PL/SQL package to a java class and vice versa.
I have heard of oracle.sql.ArrayDescriptor as an option but this appears to address only SQL types that are defined outside of a package.
I'm talking about using, say, SCOTT.EMP%rowtype instead of a user-defined type. I'm thinking that a java array could be defined from the definition of a table in the database but I don't know what class would be appropriate.
Could someone provide a simple proof-of-concept example that shows how you could use a java array to pass data to a package that is expecting a table rowtype variable and conversely a java class that reads the rowtype returned into a java array?
Would oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDatabaseMetaData be a way of doing this?
    Thanks!

Not at all. I didn't feel like you misled me at all. I'm grateful for your help. I think that maybe I failed to describe my problem adequately in the first place.
    <br><br>
Perhaps I've also gotten stuck on the term <i>ref cursor</i>.
<br><br> At any rate, the people I'm gathering information for have further refined their requirement. We want to take a collection of data and send it to a procedure. It doesn't have to be a "ref cursor" or "%rowtype" per se, but something that is maintainable and workable from both ends.
    <br><br>
For example, to use the old SCOTT/TIGER paradigm, let's suppose we have a website where you can indicate which employees work for a given department. The website allows us to fill in information for multiple employees at once. We want to use a servlet that gathers all the employees data and sends it on through to a PL/SQL package so that the data is validated and committed in the database.<br><br>
Perhaps the java servlet should handle the multiple employee records as an array? If so, how can a PL/SQL procedure be made to recognize that construct?<br><br>
I can accept that java cannot create a "ref cursor" type to send information to a package, but might this be possible via some other implementation?
    <br><br>
Hopefully this is a little more clear. If not, please let me know and I'll try to inject more details as to what we are trying to accomplish.
    <br><br>
Once again, thanks for your persistent replies and help.

  • Most efficient way to extract the amplitude of a signal and display on an intensity graph

    Hi All,
I am having difficulty to display the amplitude of an voltage signal (voltage picked up by NI DAQ card).
what I am trying: Voltage signal (Dynamic data type)--> 2D array of dynamic data type (using 2 nested for loops) --> normal 2D array with scalar values --> intensity graph
I have difficulty to convert the dynamic 2D array to scalar 2D arry.
I only want to extract the amplitude of the imcoming signal.. any body can give some advice? thanks in advance..
    Charlie

    Hi Hillary,
    Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I did tried to use Amplitude and Levels Express vi, it should be the one I am looking for, but I found it not work in my case, I need to put the value of amplitudes into a 2D array.
If I use Amplitude and Levels Express vi, it will give me a 3D array, I have found the solution, just convert the dynamic data to single scalar. (see pic attached)
Anybody can help me to solve the following 2 problems:
    1. The speed of this program is too low, i think ii due to the DAQ assistant in the 2 for loops (for creating 2D array), it should be able to re-write using DAQmx (as "centerbolt" told me), I am working on this now, if anybody can help, I will appreciate that.
    2. Is there any other way to creat the 2D array (for purpose of increasing speed also).
    Thanks,
    Charlie
