MOTION MANUE LOOPING PROBLEM

Hi all,
I have motion menue for 14 sec. between loops there is a small pause of about 1 sec.
How can I get rid of the pause?
Thanks
Shaul

You can't get rid of the pause. The laser on a DVD player has to reposition itself after playing to the end of the menu, and in that time the button highlights will blink off until the menu plays back again.
But you could make it less noticeable by making your motion menu longer, such as taking the background video file into Premiere and repeating it once or twice, which would make your video 28 or 42 seconds long, and then exporting it and using that as your menu video background. The longer your motion menu is, the more likely the viewer is to make a selection before the motion menu loops.

  • Not the usual 'login loop' problem, help.

    The login loop problem I'm facing is not the usual login loop problem when starting up mac; it's when I'm trying to log into websites or applications (most of them, eg. facebook, instagram).
    I have tried:
    using other browsers: Safari, Firefox, Maxthon, Chrome
    clearing all cookies / caches / keychains / passwords
    repairing disk
    deleting launchservices cache
    using other userid to login
    All to no avail.
    How do I solve this without having to reformat/install mac?
    Thank you.

    That loop will loop until readLine() returns null, which will only happen when the other end closes its end of the connection, and it will block while no data is available.

  • Sony D-50 "boot-up loop" problem

    I have a Sony D-50 portable recorder barely three months old that did something totally strange. Has anyone else had this problem?
    During a shoot yesterday, I noticed that the Sony D50 I bought back in August would not turn OFF.
    When I moved the power switch to the OFF position, the machine went into a "boot up loop," that is:
    I'd turn it OFF after recording.
    Screen goes black.
    I get the "See you!" message.
    Screen lights up again.
    The word "SONY" appears as though it's gonna boot up,
    Then the whole process starts over again
    Screen goes black.
    I get the "See you!" message.
    Screen lights up.
    The word "SONY" appears as though it's gonna boot up....
    So, same thing late last night.
    I get up this morning and turn it ON; it works fine until I turn it off, then it goes back into the "boot loop" thing again.
    I tried everything I could think of, even searching for a "RESET" on the machine and in the Menu. I finally had to take the batteries out of it to shut it down.
    Then, I did something that apparently---so far---fixed it.
    This is so strange---right out of the Twilight Zone:
    I put the batteries back in it, then it starts the loop again.
    Since it won't turn OFF, I take the batteries out of it in the OFF position. I wait five minutes and put the batteries back in it with it in the OFF position.
    Same problem---the "boot up loop" thing.
    I take the batteries back out of it again in the OFF position and wait fifteen minutes. I put the batteries back in it while it's still in the OFF position. Guess what?
    Problem solved: It's doesn't start the "boot up loop" thing.
    So, I turn it back ON. Machine boots up fine and is ready to record.
    OK, I turn it OFF.
    Back to the exact same problem---It shuts down and goes into the "boot up loop" again.
    I go back through the same process of removing and installing the batteries with the machine in the OFF position.
    Nothing changes.
    Then, I have an idea.
    With the machine in the OFF position and going through the "boot up loop" thing, I remove the batteries.
    I then move the power switch to the ON position before I put the batteries back in it---had not tried that before: reinstalling the batteries with it in the ON position. I install the batteries with the machine in the ON position.
    Machine boots up fine and is ready for recording.
    Now, I turn it OFF.
    The machine shuts down fine with no "boot up loop" problem.
    Putting the batteries back in the machine with it in the ON position instead of the OFF position apparently solved the problem.
    So, I turn it back ON and then OFF several times.
    Same thing: No "boot up loop" problem.
    Do-do-Do-do....
    The machine now works fine.
    Anyone ever had this happen to a Sony D-50?
    I'm wondering if I should send it to back to Sony before it does this again. For God's sake, it's only three months old!
    I bought it after rave reviews in the "recorder" community, and I haven't found anyone else who has had this problem with one..

  • CS6, standard motion menu loops to black

    Since I have beaning having the problem with rendering my blu-ray project, I worked on a DVD project today that I had previously completed in CS5.5
    My client requested some changes, so I made the modifications in Premier Pro, created a MPG2 file,
    and replaced it in the encore project. This is a motion menu (standard "NTSC_Floral Menu").
    Since this worked previously I had no doubt it would work again, but when I viewed the DVD, the menu (motion) only runs for about 30 seconds and goes to black. The thumb nail buttons are still visible (non animated).
    The exact same thing happens in Preview!
    Loop is set to forever!

    Great, thank you both for your replies.
    The motion menu is not created by me but one of your standard menu's included in the library. All I did was import the video and audio, create thumbnail buttons and linked to chapter points (non motion buttons).
    Also when I replaced the asset, I did not use the "replace Asset option". I essentially did it the old school way (dumb way) by importing the new video asset only (not the Audio) with a new name. The change made to the Ppro project was just text. I then deleted the old asset, recreated my chapter points and relinked to the buttons.
    Again, this problem never happened in CS5.1, only now in CS6.

  • Using LT for motion menu background – problems

    I’m trying to use a LT texture (Canvas>Sinopia) as a motion menu background. I exported 30 secs of the rendered texture direct from LT. The QT file size is 1.09 GB. Couldn’t get it to work in DVDSP. Took that file into FCP and re-exported it using custom settings. File size now 108.7 MB. Still doesn’t work in DVDSP.
    Should I be putting the 30 second file through Compressor? Is it the large file size that is causing the problems?
    Importing the .lpr file into DVDSP also doesn’t work (although I prefer to pre-render all assets, otherwise DVDSP slows to a crawl).
    I’ve now tried the texture as a 5 sec version (20 MB file) – works fine, but there’s an annoying jump in the loop every 5 secs. If I could fix that, the menu would probably be OK.
    Any advice appreciated.
    Regards. Robert.

    Both solutions worked. Wish I could award 2 solved stars.
    Compressor produced an m2v file of 21.9 MB. I'm going with that because the workflow is quicker and simpler on my old setup.
    Exporting as DV from FCP produced a file size of 103.2 MB. My DVDSP slows down with large file sizes, so I'll give it a miss. Or could still be me doing something incorrectly.
    I'm working in SD PAL 16:9.
    Help was much appreciated.
    Regards. Robert.

  • Setting motion menu loop point to 1 second or under causes Encore CS3 to crash

    Has anyone else had this problem?  I created a motion menu that I want to loop to a point just 24 frames after the beginning (the motion background fades in over 24 frames), but every time I try it causes Encore to crash when I go to preview the DVD and get to the loop point.

    No.
    VOB files (or Video OBjects) are the multiplexes for the timelines, and also (in the VTS_xx_0.VOB) the menu files themselves.
    IFO (or InFOrmation files) tell the player what should be there.
    Cells are the smallest part a menu or a timeline can be broken down into, and they need to be at least 1 second long.
    (If you could see "under the hood" and have multiple cells in a motion menu, and a return call is made (after the movie has played) to cell 2 ignoring cell 1 (which could be, EG, a copyright warning or whatever) you might see:
    CallSS VMGM (menu ROOT, rsm_cell 2)
    which would tell the player to return to the Root menu at the second cell, bypassing the first cell completely.

  • Issue with Motion Menu looping in CS6

    Greetings all!  I have been troubled with a recurring issue in a project I've been working on for a while where my Main Menu (the only one I have with a moving background) will not loop correctly.  I am not an Encore veteran so there may be something simple that I'm doing wrong and just haven't caught yet... or perhaps this is some weird bug, I'm not sure.  Here is what I've set up and the problem I'm having:
    My Main Menu has 4 buttons: one goes to a primary video and the others are 3 submenus... all submenus work fine and can link back to the Main Menu without issue and when the Main Menu first loads, it also works fine with the video in the background playing normally.  The primary video linked from the Main Menu also returns to the Main Menu as its End Action.  My problem arises when the Main Menu is allowed to reach the end of its video and loops back to the beginning again before navigating away to another part of the disc.  When it loops, the background video plays all the way through a second time like you would expect, however the menu is no longer interactive and no buttons can be pressed (the highlight also disappears on the second loop).  Following the conclusion of the second loop, the Main Menu doesn't loop a third time but rather jumps randomly to about chapter 2 or 3 of the primary video!  I have definitely not set it to do this.  I was not sure what to do about the End Action of the Main Menu itself, as the "Motion" tab of the Menu's properties has a drop-down for looping the motion part... thus so far I have the End Action set to "Main Menu: Default".  The motion background video is 45 seconds long and I have tried messing with the loop settings under the Motion tab, but it hasn't seemed to make much of a difference, it still breaks.  Just for clarification, this is an error which I didn't notice right away because it appears to loop through the menu a second time normally, but the error occurs after the first play of the motion menu.  Also, it happens both in preview and when I burn it to a disc.
    If anyone else has experienced an issue like this or happens to know what I did wrong, please let me know so I can finally get this DVD project over with!  I would be most grateful!  Thank you!

    Project corruption most frequently occurs because one or more changes are made and Encore gets "confused." But we rarely know why some such changes behave correctly and others do not.
    If you must change an asset use a different name, never ever simply overwrite.
    This just may be the issue then... Using Adobe's fancy "Dynamic Link" thingy I did edit a few assets after importing them into Encore.  Sadly, I think Encore is definitely confused by this as now every time I open my project it prompts me to re-import one of the assets because it detected "changes" when in fact I have not changed it more than once and it is just trying to re-import the same thing over and over.  I really wish I'd known to take these measure beforehand as I'm not sure how long it'll take now to rebuild the project completely, but I suppose I have no other choice if I want a working menu...  wish me luck!
    I'd like to note, however, that the asset that it always prompts me for is NOT related in any way to the Main Menu that is causing problems.  It's an asset linked to from a different submenu.  Also, I had planned everything out first, but as you might expect, little hiccups appear along the way and things need to be tweaked to have them work the way you want.  Or maybe you think to add something later that you hadn't thought of before, it actually happens pretty often.
    Still, it seems like Adobe is trying to promote the easy manipulation of assets within projects with the Dynamic Link feature.  I really hate how these softwares do not even work the way they should... and yet Adobe charges people insane amounts of money for them.
    Is there any good DVD authoring software that isn't so temperamental?  I apologize if this isn't the appropriate place to ask... just curious for the sake of my own sanity.

  • Open Loop Problem of PCI-7344

    Dear Partners
    I have a big trouble....
    Any suggestion would be appreciate!
    Here is the hardware and software that I am using
     S/W : MAX 3.1.1
               LabVIEW 7.1
               NI Motion 7.0
     H/W : PCI-7344
               UMI-7764
                YASKAWA Servo Driver
    I've tested my motion B/D step by step
      1) Start Max3.1.1 / MySystem / Devices and Interfaces /NI Motion Devices /
           PCI7344(1)/Interactive/1-D Interactive
      2) Slect "OPEN LOOP"
      3) Input steps : Velocity, Acceleration, Deceleration
      4) Input steps : Target Position = 100000
      5) Click  "Apply"
      6) Click  "Start"
    But sometimes it stops generating steps.
    it occurs very very irregularly.
    I can't understand because I use "OPEN LOOP"
    and "Current Trajectory Position" must increase until "TargetPosion" whether the asis move or not.
    Also there is no limit signals..
    Please see the image file attached.
    It's very simple I control motion b/d with OPEN LOOP MODE.
    and, I think the servo Driver works well because command steps and encoder pulses are equal.
    Please Help me!!!

    Thank you Jasper S.
    I think you understand me well.
    I tell you more informations.
    1) The computer is working in Windows XP Professional (Just Theme).
    2) It happens also at low velocity and acceleration.
    3) I think when the motor stops moving, it fails to translate into hardware steps.
      Because when the motor stops, "Current Trajectory Position" and "Encoder Counts" are equal.
    4) I checked status registers on the card when it works abnormally, but can't find any error message and flgs.
    5) To make matters worse it happens occasionally, so it's difficult to find out the reason.
    6) Strange as it may sound, when I touch the motion connector correctly,  the abnormal behavior frequency decrease.
      So I tried to exchange a new motion b/d and a motion cable but it was just same error situation.
      I can't understand because I just use "OPEN LOOP",  it is no matter whether servo driver works well or not.
    7) Do I have to change PC? I already tried to exchange PCI Slot position.
    I need more information about this.
    I'm in trouble because this system is operating at foreign country.
    It is fatal error  even if it happens once per day....
    Please help me once more. Thank you.

  • Infinite loop problem

    Hi there,
    This is the second time I have posted this problem, as the last solution I was offered did not seem to work. Here is the problem:
    I have written a method to search through a text file for a word and replace it with another word. That word can either be on its own in the document or as part of another word. So, if the search word was "foot" and the replace word was "dog", the word "football" in the document would become "dogball".
    This method works fine, except for when the replace word is the same as the search word. Basically, if someone searched for "dog" and wanted to replace it with "dog dog" or even just "dog", the program goes into an infinite loop. I understand why it is doing this, but I don't know how to prevent it from happening.
    Now, to make it worse I have to stick to this array style structure and method of solving the problem. I know there is a way to do this by building temporary strings and then concatenating them at the end and returning them to their previous position in the array. The reason I know this is because a friend of mine has managed it. She also happens to be a girl.
    So, I am asking you all to assist in defending men's intelligence by helping me see where I am going wrong in this method. Please.
    Here is the method:
    // Search the document for a string and replace it with another string
         public String [] SearchReplace() {
              // Declare variables to be used in the method
              String SecondSubstring;
              String FirstSubstring;
              int ReplaceNumber = 0;
              // Loop through the lines of text stored as strings contained in the array
              for (int i = 0; i < NumberOfLines; i++) {
                        // As long as the string contains an instance of the search string, run the method
                        while (StrArray.indexOf(SearchW) >= 0) {
                             // Make a string of all the characters after the search word
                             SecondSubstring = StrArray[i].substring(StrArray[i].indexOf(SearchW) + SearchW.length());
                             // Make a string of all the characters before the search word
                             FirstSubstring = StrArray[i].substring(0, StrArray[i].indexOf(SearchW));
                             // Concatenate FirstSubstring with the replace word to make a new string
                             String FirstHalf = FirstSubstring.concat(ReplaceW);
                             // Concatenate the new string with SecondSubstring to make the whole replaced string
                             String FullString = FirstHalf.concat(SecondSubstring);
                             // Put this altered string back to its original place in the array
                             StrArray[i] = FullString;
                             // Increment ReplaceNumber to count the replacements made
                             ReplaceNumber++;
              // Print the numbers of replacements made
              System.out.println("\nA total of " + ReplaceNumber + " changes made.\n");
              // Display the searched and replaced contents of the file
              return StrArray;
    Any suggestions, pointers or solutions would be much appreciated.
    Thanks very much.

    Doing it the "old fashioned" way:
    You need to keep track of a "from index" so you don't search through parts of the string you've already replaced:
           public static void main(String args[]) {
              try {
                   String[] lines = new String[] {
                        "the dog went up the dog hill",
                        "all dogs go to dog heaven",
                        "the dogball takes place on 3rd april"
                   lines = replace(lines, "dog", "dog dog");
                   for (int i = 0; i < lines.length; i++) {
                        System.out.println(lines);
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
         private static String[] replace(String[] lines, String searchWord, String replaceWord) {
              if (searchWord.equals(replaceWord)) return lines; // nothing to do
              for (int i = 0; i < lines.length; i++) {
                   int fromIndex = 0; // from index to do indexOf
                   String line = lines[i];
                   while (line.indexOf(searchWord, fromIndex) != -1) {
                        final int index = line.indexOf(searchWord, fromIndex);
                        line = line.substring(0, index) + replaceWord + line.substring(index + searchWord.length());
                        fromIndex = (line.substring(0, index) + replaceWord).length();
                   lines[i] = line; // replace
              return lines;

  • Do while loop problem

    I have a problem with do while loop. I am displaying a dialogue box where a person should enter the type of quiz he had performed. The problem is that the user should enter only the following 3 words, either "Earthquakes" or "Place" or "Animals". If the user enters any other word, he/she should be displayed wwith another message saying "Invalid". This should keep repeatinf (i.e. displaying invalid) until the user enters either of those 3 words. When a user enters one of those words it will stop diplaying "Invalid". I tried doing this, but altough it displays "Invalid" when a user enters an invalid word, it will display invalid also when a user neters the correct word. I think i have something wrong with the loop.
    This is the code:
         String player = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Enter name");
                 String type = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Enter your quiz type");
                do
                    type = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Invalid entry. Try again." );
                 while (type != "Earthquakes"  || type != "Place" || type != "Animals" );

    Yeah thats a good idea, but i'm still a beginner and i'm still new to some things. I got a problem, because altough the while loop is working correctly, however the first time i enter a word even if its correct its still displays invalid. I think that thats a property of the while loop. So can someone pls tell me how can i change this loop and use another loop that wouldn't do this. Can i use perhaps a for loop instead here? Thanks a lot.
    String player = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Enter name");
              String type = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Enter your quiz type");
                  do {
                      type = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Invalid entry. Try again." );
                   } while(!type.equals("Earthquakes") && !type.equals("Places") && !type.equals("Animals"));

    Why do you think it hangs at the while loop, eh? You need to put in additional printlns to justify your assertion. It takes alot less time to diagnose if you put in specific try/catch blocks with their own printlns - even if it is not as much fun. When you get into these kinds of troubles, there is no shame in putting in prints at each statement or logical point to track down the actual fault.

  • 3d motion tween load problem

    Hey all,
    I'm having a problem which has made me struggling for two days. I hope i can get some new ideas for my problem here.
    I created a fla which includes several 3d motion tween in CS5.5, when it's compiled it works perfect. But when i try to load this swf into my main project, images get blurry and distorted. Below is the screenshot of the situation. The first one is the correct one, and second one is loaded into main project. I read that scaling 3d tweens might cause such problems and tried to fix it by two solutions. As first, i tried to retransform the tween by: myContainer.transform.matrix = new Matrix(); but didn't work out. As second, i tried to rescale the stage which mentioned as a solution is some blogs.
    And i don't know if it is some kind of bug as mentioned here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2258767
    I'd really be glad if i can get some ideas, thanks all.

    anyone?
