Mouse Clicks' Queue when Button is Disabled

Hi, I was wondering about the Disable property for UI
Components.
In the docs it says that when the component is disabled it
ignores all
interaction whatsoever - in particular - user interaction.
In my case, the button is disabled for a few seconds right
after it
was clicked by the user (I disable it till the httprequest is
returned
and then enable it).
What happens is that if the user clicks the button while it's
disabled
- nothing happens. But when the button turns enabled - it
acts as if
it just got the click event.
It seems like the mouse click event went into this queue and
the
button listened to it right after to turned enable?
Am I correct? If so - how can I prevent this problem?
If I'm wrong, what's the reason for this? And again, how can
I sort
this so the user can't send mouse clicks to the button when
it's
disabled??
Many thanks :)
Gilad

No idea about whether you're correct or wrong, but you might
want to try
setting mouseEvents = false on the button and see if that
helps.

    Hi
I guess you will be able to create the toggle button. It will not be a big problem. What you need to handle is , you need to identify , in which row the user has clicked. For this in the button action , there is an incoming import parameter WDEVENT..in this , you have a method ..get_context_element() ..which will fetch you the row element selected.

  • No more mouse click sounds for buttons on Captivate 5

I have been working on a project that uses buttons and click boxes.  Previously the mouse click played when the button was selected, but now there is no mouse click sound when selecting the button.  When closing the application I see a message that pops up saying "Discovering Unreachable Audio".
I also tried to create a new project with buttons and the mouse click still does not play.
I double checked in the properties for the button and the box for "Disable Click Sound" is NOT checked, so I know that this is not the problem.
I am using Windows XP SP3.
Any advice on how to correct this is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

Did you ever find a solution to this?  I am having the same trouble.  The mouse click will not play despite the fact it is selected.  Some mouse clicks will play so I don't know what the issue is.  Also if I change it to a custom mouse click it the sound will play.

Aftr converting to Mavericks could not able to update/download applications through spp store and have to force quit app store as the mouse does not click the X button

Do you get any error messages?
    Try resetting the App Store.
    Reset       Learned from Old Toad
    Try deleting the com.apple.appstore.plist.
    Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

  • How to speed up Windows 7's reaction time to my mouse click

Hi.  We just got new computers at work.  They have approximately 4 gigs of RAM and have Window's 7 on them.  Prior to that we had abysmally old computers running Windows XP.  We have Microsoft Office 365 on them (Not sure how much
that matters) and it is connected to both an older server and SharePoint.
I'm positive that there isn't actually a problem with the computer or Windows 7 - it might be really basic harware, however it is brand new.  But everything lags.  Its extremely minor and no one else in the building notices it.  My co-workers
all say the entire system is faster in every possible way.  However, I get the same problemwith other computers in the building, at least four others.  It lags just slightly when I click on anything, anywhere (Left and Right click).  Letters
appear to lag behind my key presses, just enough for me to notice and no one else (I do wonder if this is caused by Microsoft Office, since it is so clunky).  I also think the mouse pointer moves slower than the pointers on XP.  Its difficult
to tell though since I no longer have the old computer to compare.
This lag did not exist with the old computers.  My clicks were instantaneously carried out and the appearance of the letters I pressed was immediate.  It might be very minor, but it is driving me insane.  I can't watch the screen when I type
because it makes me slightly nauseous.  And the click lag slows down my entire process.  I'm pretty sure it isn't actually a problem with Windows 7, I think the OS is just like this.  Is there a way to speed up the reaction time of the mouse
    click and keyboard button presses?
Thank you for the taking the time.

    1. Use performance monitor for analysis. Without knowing processes that influence response it is hard to give any reasonable advice.
    2. In my experience computers with integrated video card are generally slower. (One such example sits on my desk. It is based on D2700 processor and chipset. 4GB RAM, usable 3.23GB. )
    3. There are several tweek procedures that may increase the response. Start with Win+Pause/Break -> Advances System Settings -> Advance -> Performance -> Performance Options and look here for optimal, disable autotuning, sometimes QoS, prefer
IPv4 over IPv6 (if you still use IPv4, set bit 5), etc
    4. Perhaps Performance forum is better fit for your problem.

  • Firefox missing mouse clicks

I have updated both my desktop (Win7) and my laptop (WinXP) to Firefox 9.0.1 (from 8.0) and both are suffering from this issue.
about 99% of my left mouse clicks seem to get ignored, but middle and right are both perfectly find. Left button operates correctly in all other programs.
The mouse works correctly in the taskbar/menus/tab bar/scroll bar, but stops as soon as I am inside the page display area.
Sometimes if I click continuously for 10 seconds I get an ok click, or sometimes I have to use a different program for a minute and then come back, then I can get 1 or 2 clicks before it stops working.
Currently navigating using tab, and shift+tab.
This is very very annoying, has anyone else noticed this after update? or have any ideas?

My current issue is that if the simulator is frozen (system time is cycling within a 100ms window) mouse clicks on buttons are getting lost.OK that's an entirely different kettle of fish. Firing an action does require that the mouseReleased be later than the mousePressed, and that both be over the button.
Consider ths scenarion in any normal application that doesn't interfere with the system time. The user presses the mouse over some other component, drags over to the button and releases it. Next, the user presses the mouse over the button, drags off the button and then releases it. This isn't supposed to trigger the button's ActionListener#actionPerformed.
With the system time looping, how does the runtime know that this isn't the case?
I can see the button border change when I move the mouse over the button, that's rollover, triggered from mouseEntered. timing is not an issue.
but the mouse click is lost (button does not get depressed).See above.
Sometimes it works fine for a few mouse clicks and other times several mouse clicks will be lost in a row.See above.
It seems random. In a way, it is.
This seems to be more prevalent with buttons than capturing a mouse click on a panel where I do 2D drawing. Not sure why.Could be just human susceptibility to guesswork, or may actually have something to do with the occasional additional processor cycles involved in the custom painting. Since you haven't described the frequency of repainting nor its complexity, that guess is my susceptibility to guesswork ;)
When I put the simulator into Run mode, it works perfectly, never missing a click.Of course it will.
Anyone out there have any insights into what might be going on under the hood inside Java/Swing with mouse events and the system clock?See above.

  • Is there a way to simulate a mouse click anywhere on a screen in Dictate ?

I'm using Dictate because of hand problems. Unfortunately, it does not seem to have the ability as supplied to simulate mouse clicks anywhere on the screen as Dragon Naturally Speaking does on the Windows side.( I do not mean by this the ability to select an item in the menu, which It does have the built in ability to do.) It can, however, so I read, be scripted to do a lot of things. Is there an Applescript out there that would allow for the simulation of mouse clicks anywhere on the screen (as opposed to just on a UI item)?

Platform: 2.2 gHz iMac using Mac OS X 10.5.5; Dictate v. 1.2.1 Build
Okay, so, here, after a great deal of research, is a procedure for implementing a single mouse click anywhere on the screen. Since it’s a procedure, I’m detailing each step.
!. Download the scripting addition (sometimes known as an OSAX) xTool.sax from: http://lestang.org/osax/XTool/XTool-2.0.dmg.tgz. You will have to decompress the file (StuffIt) and double-click it to get it to unfold into a .dmg (disk image) file. In this file you will find the file Xtool.osax. Drag it into your MacHD (or whatever the name of your topmost volume is)/library/ScriptingAdditions (no spaces in the name) folder. The purpose of this is to place it into a folder where Applescript is expecting to find scripting additions. In other words, it’s hard-coded and you can’t just drop it anywhere because Applescript may not find it. Also, there may be more than one Library folder in other directories. Under 10.5.5. which I’m running, I can tell you it works where I placed it.
The effect all of this has is that when you create your script in Dictate’s New Commands window (Script Editor), Dictate will know what the commands “click mouse’ and “position of the mouse” mean. These are not standard Applsecript commands but are additions, hence the name Scripting Additions.
    2. Start Dictate and in the File drop-down select New Command. This will take you to a window with a pane on the left with names such as Applications, Global, and several others. Click on Global (so that the command will be recognized no matter what application your are in). To the right of the pane you will see a number of commands listed by name and, underneath, a (very small) “+” (and a minus sign and a small icon). Ignore everything but the “+”. Click on the “+”.
Below several boxes will appear: Command, Description, Context, Type.
In Command Name type in the name you want Dictate to recognize to do the click. (I call mine Mouse click.) In Description you can type something like Single-clciks the mouse. In the Context drop-down make sure to select Global. In the Type drop-down, select Applescript.
Paste the following into Text Edit (orTexEdit Plus,if you have that):
    click mouse {(position of the mouse), [1]}
For reasons unknown to me, you can’t just select that text, copy, and paste it into Dictate’s Script Editor winodw. You will have to select it in Text Edit and drag it into the Source text box.
Click on the Compile button at the left bottom. After it finishes compiling (a matter of seconds if everything is normal), click on the Run button with your mouse. If all has gone well, you will very likely see the Run button get pressed repeatedly. Take your mouse off the button so it stops blinking like mad. (The Mouse click Appplescript is repeatedly looking at the position it find itself and clicking again, and again.)
While your mileage may vary, I have been able to simulate single mouse-click using this workaround.
So far, I have not been able to simulate a double-click reliably. There is, I believe, an issue with the amount of time between the two clicks (a parameter of the click mouse command above which I did not go into here). For anyone out there who wants to work on that, I would be glad to hear your results. I’ve tried values up to 2000 in the DELAY parameter after the TIMES parm. Here is what the dictionary shows for this command.
    click mouse?v
click mouse [point] : where to do the mouse click
[times integer] : how many times you want to clik the mouse
[delay integer] : delay between two mouse clicks
[using primary button/secondary button/middle button] : which mouse button
If I get this to work I will let my fellow sufferers know.
Thanks to Hiroto and Andrew99 in particular for their help.

  • Help displaying Instructional Objectives 1-at-a-time using mouse down on a button on one screen.

I am brand new to Captivate 6 and have encountered my first coding problem. I have six instructional objectives and would like to display them one at a time with a mouse click on a button. I would like some guidance either with making what I a trying to do work or in the alternative telling me what I should be doing instead. Here is what I tried to do.
    1. I created 6 instructional objectives on a single screen.
    2. Then I created a user variable "increment_objectives." It's starting value was set to 0.
    3. Next, I built an advanced conditional action. It contained seven conditional  statements, each built the same way. The purpose of the seventh was to move to the next slide after all instructional objectives were viewed.
The advanced conditional action IF statement was:  If increment_objectives = x  then (where x varied from 0 to 7)
The ACTION statements contained the names of the six instruction objectives (objective_1 through objective_6) and these were either shown or hidden, based upon the increment_objectives value.
    4. This advanced conditional action was attached to the enter frame on the slide and "no action" was on the exit frame on the slide.
    5. On a Button I attached an increment value that added 1 to increment_objectives variable.
    6. I set all frame objects to "duration of slide" turning off all timing increments.
I had expected that this would increment the increment_objectives variable when the mouse was clicked and that the advanced actions conditional statements would be interpreted and display the objectives one at a time. How wrong I was. Not only did they not display, but after a few seconds, the screen would flip to the next slide.
Can you offer me some help?
    Rod Wolford

    Hi Rod
What did you use to trigger calling the Advanced Action? From what you just described, there is nothing to trigger the action. At least beyond the initial triggering upon entering the slide.
Normally you want a Button or Click Box or other trigger to call the Advanced Action after each interaction.
Hope this helps a smidge... Rick

  • Distinguish left and right mouse click

I am making some demo, I don't use any narration. How do I
tell the viewer when to use left mouse click and when to use right
mouse click? Can it be done automatically?

    Hello Simon,
Hmmm, I don't think that there is anything in Captivate that
will automatically let the leaner know that you are
right-clicking...Here are some of the things that I might try.
    1. Adding a text caption that notifies the learner that I am
    right-clicking
    2. At the very start of the demonstration point out to
learners that when they hear a certain sound this is an indication
    that I am right-clicking.
    3. Create a small animation that shows pressing the right
    mouse button
    4. Use one of the existing animations that you can find in
the Adobe Captivate 2 gallery such as visual clicks and again point
out at the beginning of the demo that when they see this animation
you are performing a right-click action, you could also record or
import audio onto your animation if you so desired.
Those are my (of the top of my head) thoughts . I am sure
    that there are others.

    Mark

  • Mouse clicks and keystrokes

When I edit mouse click in mouse properties, it
doesn't always make the sound when it's checked (ticked), and
sometimes makes a mouse click sound when it's not ticked. If you
run it through again, it often responds differently. The same thing
happens with keystroke sounds, though less frequently. Is this a
common problem, is it my computer, or is there some way of fixing
    this problem?

Keyboard shortcuts were often missed.  For example, I tried this sequence many times.
0: (setup:  text editor is scrolled to first line and cursor is at the beginning of the first line)
1: Click on text editor window to focus it.
2: press SHIFT-DownArrow to move cursor down one line and select the first line
3: press CMD-X to cut the line.
Automator never would capture those key strokes.
But today I has a break through.  This sequence does work:
0: (setup:  text editor is scrolled to bottom of the file and the cursor is placed below the last line.)
1: Click on text editor window to focus it.
2: press SHIFT-UpArror to move cursor up one line and select the last line.
3: press CMD-X to cut the line.
about 70% of the time this did get recorded correctly (I did maybe 3 recordings and one failed to select).  Once it got recorded correctly it worked reliably.
So it seems to be able to capture some sequences but not others.  Both sequences work very reliably when I type them but automator can only capture the last sequence.
Thanks for the suggestions.  This tool is better than nothing but not anything I would recommend.

  • Is it possible to generate a mouse click at specific coordinates on the stage?

Let's say x = 100 and y = 100. So, I have my main swf file that contains an external swf file with a button. Would it be possible to generate a mouse click on that button?
Any help would be greately appreciated.

You don't do it that way - you'd just tell the button to dispatch a CLICK MouseEvent and anything listening for the click would get it... something like:
    myButton.dispatchEvent(new Event(MouseEvent.CLICK));

  • Mouse-click with red circles

In many tutorial videos (Photoshop or Lightroom) you can see red circles appear after mouse clicks.
When I use the software it didn´t show up.
Do I need a special mouse software ? Is it on Mac or Windows ?

Some of the screen recording applications used to create demonstration videos can highlight the pointer during the recording. There are also utilities that highlight the pointer live, for example when you do a classroom presentation. On the Mac, you can use the Mouseposé utility for this.

  • How to uninstall firefox 4, MouseControl Add-on? I got to the add-on managing page, but the 'remove' , 'disable', or 'option' button doesn't respond to mouse clicking on it

While on Firefox browser, the MouseControl add-on prevented me to open my yahoo mail and access buttons and tabs and keyboard functions on some pages. When clicked on certain button/box, nothing is recognized. I can't disable or remove this add-on, because I can't click on the 'disable' nor 'remove' buttons; the command is not recognized! I decided to uninstall Firefox 4. When re-install Firefox 4, the MouseControl Add-on was not removed and all the problems are still there.

Hi so sorry about this problem. There was a warning (for unexpected behavior) when changing the button configuration but I agree that's not an excuse. Please uninstall it by restarting your browser in safe mode. Use the keyboard press Alt+H, this opens the help menu, use your arrow keys to move down to "Restart with addons disabled", then uninstall it from there, also please check out v1.5, this version resolves this stuck mouse issue.
    Again very sorry about this.
