Mouse Over - Help

Hi,
I'm using FlixPro 8.5.
I have several hundred QuickTime movies I wish to convert to
Flash 8 SWF for use in a website.
On page load I want the visitior to see the first frame of
the movie and then on mouse over play the movie at a larger size.
You can see an example here:
http://www.pond5.com
What is the easiest way to batch process several hundred
clips and do this on a mouseover?
Do I need to purchase and learn Flash 8?
Thanks!

Here is a primitive example took only a few minutes to write, try it out and see if this works for you.

    Hi David,
    i saw your question about creating a popup.
    I would like to creat a popup in a PDF with Adobe Acrobat Profession Version 7 or 8.
    Do you know how to create a popup which is normally invisible, only when the cursor is above a certain term then the popup is getting visible?
    Do you know if it is possible to insert pictures or Power-Point-Screens in a popup on a PDF?
    It would be great if you could help me!!

  • I need help identifying and removing annoying gadget that shows all open windows and applications when I mouse over a corner.

    It seemed like a good idea at the time. Some time ago I installed a gadget (doesn't seem to be an item in my Applications folder) which, when I mouse-over the lower-left corner of my screen, brings up a screen showing reduced-size versions of all open application windows and Finder windows. I've tried to identify what it is, and where it is located, so I can remove it, but to no avail.
    I'd really appreciate any help getting rid of this thing. Thanks!

    Hi Paul,
    Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
    Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
    Check the System Preferences>Keyboard>Keyboard Shortcuts.

  • The "text in a yellow box" that appears when I hover the mouse over a selection or help tag.

    The "help tag" (Or in most cases the unwanted tag)  often is in the way of what I want to look at.
    This is especially true when you are looking at an item that has it's own pop up giving you a description or information.
    When you hold the mouse over say.... a movie icon in XFinity, the icon of the movie expands and gives a brief synopsis, date and actors of said movie.
    Unfortunately, I cannot read the synopsis for the "Help Tag" blocks all the content forcing you to try different ways of pointing to the movie icon so you can read parts of the discretion from every angle of approach then piece it altogether in your mind.
    I DO NOT want "help tag".  It is extremely annoying and time consuming ergo it des not "help" it hinders.
    Can it not be disabled (Like balloon help in OS 9) so you do not have to feel anger and frustration every time you see that yellow tag?

    Ooo, I did not notice the article was from 2007.  Thansk for pointing that out.  I don't think I am going to try it.  It seems that with all the "little" apps the seem to keep growing in numbers, someone will come up with a solid program that would wok through system prefs.  I would pay the normal $20.00 for an app like that.

  • Need help on showing text on mouse over effect?

    Im a real noob with flash. What I have is a animation of footprints and each footprint is clickeble and link to a url. That part works fine. What I want to do now is make it so that when you hover the mouse over each footprint it must display some text over the footprint. I realy need some one that can explain this to me in step by step detail on how to acomplish this.
    Help me please!

    Hi there, thank you for replying.
    What I have is footprints as movie clips on my stage.  Each footprint has got this code in its "actions". The url for each foot print is just a diferent url, and it works.
    on (release) {
    getURL("http://riversidecollege.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=9&Itemid=3");
    Hope its enough info for you to be able to help me.

  • Showing help text of controls when mouse over connector

    I'm working with a system where we have decided to use input clusters for all data to all vi:s. These clusters are saved as strict type defs.
    Our idea for documentation so far has been to write a description of what the vi does in the vi description, and describing the indata by documenting each element in the input clusters type defs.
    This works very well for documentation printing purposes. However, we cannot see the descriptions of the indata in the help pop-up when mouse-over the vi.
    Does anyone know a way of getting the documentation of the wired inputs to a vi when mouse-over the vi?
    Regards
    //Martin

    Do you want to (1) see the help info (description and tip) for the cluster when you're on the front panel of the VI that uses it, or (2) do you want to see the help info when you're on a diagram of a calling VI using the VI with the cluster as a sub-VI?
    1. In LabView 6.1 or 7.0, you will see the help info for a strict type-def control on the front panel of a VI that uses it. I saved a cluster as a strict type-def. I added description and tip for the cluster itself and for individual elements within the cluster. Then I added the cluster to the front panel of a VI.
    In either version 6.1 or 7, I can see the help info:
    I can see the description of the cluster or the individual element (depending on where the mouse is pointing) whenever I have context help open (Ctrl-H
    to toggle). I can see the tip for the cluster or individual element if the operate tool is selected.
    After I added the strict type-def control to a VI, I went back to the control editor and modified the description and tip, then updated the control on the VI and saw the new info.
    2. When you're on the diagram of a calling VI using the VI with the cluster as a sub-VI, the only help info (description and tip) available is what you entered for the sub-VI. You can't see the help for the individual controls on the sub-VI unless you open the sub-VI. On the VI with the cluster, you can cut and paste help info from the cluster to the VI. On the diagram of the calling VI, with the wiring tool selected, you can see the name of the sub-VI terminal, but not the help info for that terminal.
    Seeing the help for the individual control of a sub-VI when you're wiring it sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe in LabView 8?

  • How can I add popup help messages when I mouse over a button

    Hi there,
    I haev Acrobat x 10 pro.
    I'm new to acrobat and would like to set up a friendly form for people to fill in online.  I'd like them to have some interactive help so that for example when they mouse over or click a button, some help text appears.  I've played around with adding a text field that is hidden and then adding action items to a button to show it.  This works, but my text field is shaded like a normal text field and I'd like it to look different.
    Is there a better way to to this popup effect or is there a way t omake the popup look like a popup and not a text field?
    All help gratefully received,
    Thanks in advance.

    I'mnot sure what you mean by shading exactly, but you can set up a text field so that it doesn't have an inset border. An alternative is to use a button to display the text. Buttons are more flexible since you can set a button icon to be anything that can appear on a PDF page (text, images, vector graphics). For a sample, see: https://acrobat.com/#d=aP-2xL45pM57xVkT6d6fSg
    Also, if you use a text field, set it's default value to the text you want to display so that the field won't get blanked if the form is reset. You don't have to worry about this when using buttons.

  • IDE mouse-over popup help

    For us non-lightening speed readers, is there any way to get the IDE mouse-over popup help textboxes to stay up for a few seconds longer for larger texts, especially?
    If it is difficult enough for a native English reader, I can imagine the frustration of those non-native readers with the misfortune of not having the IDE localized in their own language.
    Thanx

    Go to:
    TOOLS>OPTIONS>GENERAL SETTING
    Thyen select SYSTEM SETTING and then you will find an option called TOOL
    TIPS DISMISSAL DELAY. Set a large number for that, to keep the tooltip text longer.
    Thanks.

  • Behaviour on mouse over ?  Please help

    Hi,
    I am very new here so please be patient when you read about
    my "ignorance". I am making a website for a friend designer and
    here is the idea :
    - the "main" page contains a picture of a cabinet with 5
    drawers (which serve as menu buttons)
    -The idea is that when you roll over the drawers with the
    mouse, the picture changes into one with that particular drawer
    open and the subject written next to it.
    -When you roll further the next picture appears, etc.
    -When clicked on any of those pictures (the open drawer) the
    behaviour should be to go to the dedicated html.page
    The problem :
    The picture is a full screen size picture (250kb).
    I thought that with putting hotspots on the main picture, and
    using the hide and show layers behaviour I could make this work but
    it does not seem to do anything right. (when moving the mouse over
    and off the drawer the picture keeps jumping back and forward)
    Can anyone suggest a better way to do this ?
    Please feel free to ask for more info if the above does not
    make sense to you.
    Thanks
    Bubbles

    What you probably want to do is create invisible buttons that you place over the main image.  These will provide the rollover triggering that you want.  To make invisible buttons you can create button symbols that only have a shape in their "Hit" frames.  That creates a button that you can still see while editing but do not appear in the published file when you run it.
    Then you need to have an image that rolling over that button will bring into view.  It would be preferable to have the images that appear be away from the buttons so that they don't interfere/block the buttons, so each larger image may have to be placed in a different area.
    To control an image that appears, for starters you could just have it invisible and make rolling over the button make it visible.  You would need to convert these images to movieclips in order to accomplish that.  So let's say you create an image movieclip and place it on the stage and assign it an instance name of "image1" (instance names are assigned in the properties panel).  And for that image/movieclip's button you add a button over the main image and give that an instance name of "btn1"
    To make them work as planned, in the timeline in the same frame (different layer) where you have btn1 and image1, you would add code as follows...
    image1.visible = false;
    btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, showImg1);
    btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, hideImg1);
    function showImage1(evt:MouseEvent):boid {
         image1.visible = true;
    function hideImage1(evt:MouseEvent):boid {
         image1.visible = false;

  • How to get mouse over shape to display data in Visio 2013?

    Hi Visio pros,
    I am required to create a diagram of our servers rack setup and will be publishing to a Web page using Visio 2013.
    The goal is to mouse over the server shape and have the data be displayed. I have followed arguably every solution on the internet. I am either doing it wrong, or it might be outdated information.
    I'm hoping Paul Herber, or other Visio pros would be able to help me with this situation as I am on a tight schedule and have exhausted my resources.
    Things I have tried:
    user.visEquivTitle in ShapeSheet
    http://visualsignals.typepad.co.uk/vislog/2012/02/no-mouseover-with-visequivtitle.html
    and
    prop.(data name) in the comments within the miscellaneous section of the ShapeSheet.

    Hi Sir!
    I am open to the possibility that I may have done something wrong as I am very new to Visio.
    Here are the steps I followed:
    http://visio.mvps.org/ShapeSheet/
    Browser that I am using is Internet Explorer since I ran into problems with Google Chrome.
    However, after more reading I noticed the User.visEquivTitle provides a tooltip. If it is what I think it is, which is a small yellow box displaying a string, my employer would not want that.
    We're looking for something that will provide an aesthetic display of data after mouse over onto the shape.
    Thank you very much for your help.

  • Interactive PDF with mouse-overs was created in Illustrator, now pauses and flashes when opened in Acrobat

    I have created an interactive PDF using Illustrator that has mouse-overs. When i export the file and then open it in Acrobat there is odd pausing on teh image bewteen mousing over it and the text callout that shold then display. Did I export or save incorrectly?

    Thank you for both responses! I'm impressed with the fact that you're reading my post.
    I'm new to tech matters with Adobe/PDF/Nitro tho I've been using them for several years.
    The original file was created by an agency and given to independent contractor to use.  I don't know which program they used to create the form. And I don't know what XFA or LiveCycle Designer means  because I'm not technically sophisticated unfortunately.
    I used Nitro 6 to populate the data and have a number of forms already filled out, which I periodically open and modify and resubmit. But Nitro 6 is acting sick, despite reinstalling several times.  I'm attempting to see if it's worth transitioning to Adobe Acrobat, i.e., can I reopen the forms I've populated and continue to work with them.  I like some of the Adobe features for other purposes (e.g., OCR).
    Any help in determining how to open the form while keeping the data?

  • Pop Up Text in an applet on mouse over event

    Can anyone help me to design a pop up text message to be displayed in an applet on moving your mouse over a particular control. Plz. Its urgent

    To show a pop-up use javax.swing.Popup. Add a mouse listener to button. When mouse enters the button pop-up shows and when mouse exited the button, pop-up disappears. This pop-up is capable of displaying simple message to any swing component. Sample code:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    * @author mrityunjoy_saha
    * @version 1.0
    public class AppletWithPopup extends JApplet {
        private Popup popup;
        private JButton button;
        private JLabel message;
        @Override
        public void init() {
            setLayout(new FlowLayout());
            button = new JButton("Hello");
            message = new JLabel("This is a JLabel. It can be any swing component.");
            button.addMouseListener(new MyMouseListener());
            add(button);
        private class MyMouseListener extends MouseAdapter {
            @Override
            public void mouseEntered(MouseEvent e) {
                System.out.println("Mouse entered.");
                PopupFactory factory = PopupFactory.getSharedInstance();
                popup = factory.getPopup(AppletWithPopup.this, message, (int) button.getLocationOnScreen().
                        getX() - 20, (int) button.getLocationOnScreen().getY() + 40);
                //popup = factory.getPopup(AppletWithPopup.this, message, 50, 10);
                popup.show();
            @Override
            public void mouseExited(MouseEvent e) {
                System.out.println("Mouse exited.");
                if (popup != null) {
                    popup.hide();
    }If you are talking about alert box (where some message can be displayed), in above example instead of javax.swing.Popup use javax.swing.JOptionPane. In case you are using JOptionPane, make it visible in mouseEntered() method and hide it in mouseExited() method.
    Thanks,

  • One more nugget: Chart zoom with the "Mouse Over" effect

    Hello all.
    Just read my signature first, it might explain a lot. I do not intend to compete with Darren and I don't think this "nugget" (at least it supposed to be one) will amaze any of the LV veterans and this forum is rich of them. But maybe it will bring some new ideas to some of you or maybe it will be useful for some LV beginners (like me). It is very likely, my code will have some lapses, but please be gentle pointing that out to me. If you feel a need, you can always optimize the code and develope it further. Just don't forget to share!
    So back to the point.
    I am developing a project using LV. In my program there is a waveform chart which has to show 4 plots. Depending on the length of the X Scale, it sometimes gets hard to see the plots clearly because of their density.So I decided that I need a tool, which would zoom the chart in. And this is what I have came up with after a few "Google" searches to check which part of the bike is already invented and also a bit of programming by myself.
    Maybe you guys (at least the veterans) know the BetterVIEW Consulting LV example where they have implemented the Mouse Over effect. So a part of their example has been used in this tool and part of the credit must go to them. I thank them a lot
    This tool uses a cluster and its property of visibility to show/hide the cluster depending on if the current position of the mouse cursor is in the desired range or not. The program also gets the image of the chart and returns the subset of the image. The subset is taken for the area arounf the mouse cursor. So if you move the mouse, the zoomed in area will also chage in response. After that, the subset of the image is zoomed in for better view.
    The user might chage the zoom factor during the execution. Also it is possible to turn the zoom option On or Off if you don't wish to see it for the moment.
    This is how the front panel looks like:
    And this is the image of the block diagram (see the attached files for the vi, the VI Snippet tool distorts the code too much, so I haven't added it):
    I haven't found anything the same in the forum. Yet I'm a newbie here and I don't have that much experience surfing it. If it wouldn't be something new (in the forum, not necessarily to some of you personally), just ignore the thread. I hope this was worth your time and your attention.
    Good coding

    While evaluating my code please have in mind that I am a LV novice. Therefore sometimes my code might violate some coding rules that I have to learn about myself. But how else could I do that...

    Very nice Giedrius.
    It takes guts to "step up to the chalk board" so I will do what i can to give you some ideas to think about. This is similar to the type of feedback I offer durring our in-house code reviews.
    1) The floating property nodes outside the loop are not sequenced by wires so they could execute after the loop starts. Sometimes this could cause weird errors. Seq with the error cluster.
    2) Property nodes can be re-sized so you can apply more than one property setting in the same call. Property node have to execute in the UI thread (which is single threaded) so using a single nodes will force a single context switch rather than one for each.
    3) Setting the same property repeatedly in a loop just burns CPU. THe Scale min for both X an Y can be moved outside the loop ?
    4) THe Wait Until Next ms" function does not get used in any of my code. It is not a way to get a fixed wait but rather a random wait. If you code completes 1 ms after the next multiple, the delay is double less 1 ms. If you have multiple loops using them and it f the delay for each are not unique prime numbers, then the "Wait until next ms multiple" is a good (cough cough) way of getting them all to wake up at the same time and fight for the CPU.
    5)An Event Struture to monitor mouse enter/leave and mouse move (this would have to be a sepearte loop) is easier on the CPU than polling.
    6) Is that math in the case to handle the Chart position on the FP? If so then using the property nodes for the chart to find its postion will let you code adapt to GUI changes.
    7) Right to left wires are not well recieved.
    8) A Bundle by Name is prefered over a "Bundle" since it is self documenting. I know the Picture function so I can see that is the rectangle you are specifying but reader not famliar with that function would not be able to "READ" the code without poking at it.
    9) THe event structure would also help with setting the Zoom factor. Only poke it when you have to.
    That is all that comes to mind at the moment.
    Again thank you!
