Mouse Over Image Swap bugged transition problem

I have a question regarding the function of "Import" and "Update" in the properties of an image.  I've re-updated the link above to reflect my specific question.  In the movie, there are image swap transitions as you scroll over various sections of the home page.  These actions are carried out in the target cont_images and cont_images/images for the pictures.  I attempted to update one of the photos in the library with a new picture of equal quality and proportions but when I then watch the movie, the action is carried out but in a very un-smooth fashion.  The transition can be contrasted here:
http://www.greenworknow.com/Test/2138/flash&html/index.html
vs
http://www.greenworknow.com/Test/2138/flash&html/buggedmain.swf
The bugged transition will be the Adventure tab in the center, right most box.  You'll also notice that with the bug it quickly flashes the picture under the "Register" Tab (image_big_2) with the one that was changed being (image_big_3).  The part that puzzles me is that it had worked once by simply updating/importing but for some reason no longer does, I believe it lies in the method I'm going about replacing the photo.  Also the photo isn't being called externally from a folder as it is built into the library of the FLA.  I hope this was all clear enough.  If there are any odd parts, I'll be watching the thread to respond if you have a question.
Again, thank you for your continued efforts in helping me, the aid is very much appreciated.
(If you need to download the FLA, there's a link under that index page above to do so)

*bump*
Anyone have an idea? or maybe alternate methods I can try to implement the new images?

  • Mouse over images

How can I create a mouse over image that appears below a navigation/menu button?

    Hello,
You can have an image filled in the rollover state of the menu item, and that would appear when hovered over the menu item from the front end of the site. Check this related post: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5680522#5680522

  • Mouse-over image resizing in CS4

on my website (www.kogamusic.us) i have an image that changes to another image when mousing over it. the two images are different sizes, so as it is now the second image distorts because it is constrained to the aspect ratio of the first image. My question is, how do i make it so that both images auto-resize depending on the size of the window while keeping the second image constrained and distorting to the size of the first image. I am able to auto resize the first image with with=#% and hight=#%, but i can't figure out where to put html in the correct place to auto-resize (while constrained and distorted) the second image.
this is the code i am looking at:
      <a href="#" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('Image2','','DSC03696.jpg',1)"> <br />
    <img src="fish pencil.jpeg" name="Image2" width="538" height="830" border="0" id="Image2" /></a><a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a></p>
    <p> </p>
    THANKS!

Hard to say. Just maybe a hickup in the system. The popping up is slightly delayed on about every system but I have never had them not pop up at all.

  • How to get text when mousing over image?

Hey there, I am extremely new to Flash, but know other Adobe programs so tend to learn quickly.
I desperately need to find out how to get text to pop up when i mouse over PART of the image and i havent been able to find any help online in the last two days (pulling my hair out in stress).
Now i uploaded a rough mock up i did on Photoshop, so you can see when i mouseover the top layer of the cake i need a line to stretch out and the text to pop up at the end of it. Similarly if i moused over the cherry another piece of text needs to come up in the same manor.
Also since i need it to be a website link so what format do i open it with when i go to FILE- NEW?
Honestly thank you so much in advance to anyone that helps

First you have to choose if you want to handle devices. If not and you want to stay in Flash I'll stick on topic.
In the HTML version you could either use a good old fashioned image map (they're still fine in the HTML5 era) or you could use a layering technique (here's a random layering example).
In Flash you can do it a few different ways. If you intend on keeping the image intact as a single object then you'll be essentially doing the same as an image map. You can draw invisible hitareas on the various parts of the object and have those areas trigger a specific function that will display your text. If you break up the image into the separate parts then you can directly assign those parts to fire off a function themselves.
First I'd like to know your desired direction.

  • Mouse over images not resizing correctly in Safari

I have a series of thumbnail images of different sizes that, by using MouseOver, cause a larger image to appear. Safari only seems to resize "larger" and doesn't resize "smaller" resulting in distorted images. This site works fine in every other browser I can lay my hands on. I have managed to get a similar site to work fine but I don't really see the difference between the two. Any ideas on what I need to do? Site that doesn't work www.IllustriousPlay.com/test/Portfolio.html Site that does work www.IllustriousPlay.com/Page1.html Run your mouse over the various images. (Be warned I'm tinkering with the site, so it may have other things wrong with it.)

    Kowhai,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    I see the distortions.
I am not involved in Web Site design, but will W3C Markup Validation Service help answer your question?
I see Failed validation, 16 errors when I enter your URL.
BTW, I like your colorful illustrations.

  • Mouse Over Image

    Example Here
On this website there is a list of different items. Picture
of it and then the name. When you put your mouse over it, an image
shows up where the mouse is, that follows the mouse. Is this
    possible to do in Dreamweaver?

Ok, the code attached is the entire source on a page I found.
It was the perfect page for showing me what I want.
    Here is a link to
    the page.
I copied the entire source and pasted it in a separate .html
on Dreamweaver to look at and mess around with. When I view it in a
browser it looks the same (minus the images) but when I mouse over,
it does show the text it should, but it is surrounded by code, as
if Dreamweaver is not supporting it or something. I think what it
is using is DHTML, is that the reason why it is not working
properly? This was the best I could find on source for what I am
looking for, but I will continue to search.

  • How to turn off image info when hovering mouse over image?

I think I must have selected something by accident because now everytime I hover my mouse over an image, I get all this info about that image. I know it can be info will be good to know but I don't want to see it all the time. I can't find anything in the settings that seems like it would be able turn it off.

  • Metadata ? Login before download? Mouse over image? Three questions...

    Three questions:
    1) Can I add metadata to pages made with iWeb? Does it have to be done in an external application (and if so why)?
    2) I would like to propose a PDF document (a catalogue of services) that can be downloaded from my site but only to visitors who have logged in or at least left their identities (I want to know who has downloaded the catalogue and to be able to contact them afterwards).
    3) I want to have a roll-over image which will show a photograph before and after retouching, switching between the two as the mouse cursor goes over the picture. Can I do this in iWeb?
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks!

2 - as already suggested you can use a form site to create a form to give you the information you need. DYou can add the form to a web page with an HTML Snippet and iFrame code like in this demo page. The code used is also shown. on't know if you can set it up to download the pdf file but you might be able to add a link to the zipped pdf file which would immediately download the file.
3 - to do the rollover that you want would require javascript and a snippet. Do a search in this forum for "rollover" and you'll a number of topics where it's discussed. Cyclosaurus is the resident expert on javascript.

  • How to stop IE from displaying alt text as tool tip when mouse over image.

I have random images being [B]echo[/B] by a PHP script on a page.
    [CODE]<img src="<?php echo $randomImage; ?>" alt="This is alt text" />[/CODE]
The problem is every time you scroll over the image, IE spits out the alt text.
I understand the alt text are meant for accessibility.
So how can I stop this IE behavior with out compromising accessibilty?

  • Library image swapping bug.

I have been developing a flash demo of my companies product for the past few weeks.  I upgraded recently to Adobe CS5 from MM Flash 8 so that I could recover some newer Flash components that were developed in a newer version.  This all seemed to go with out any issue.  However, once in CS5, I noticed twice that an images switched to another image in the library.  So I had two copies of the image and one image that went missing.  I solved this by just updating the image that was corrupted.
I was on a crunch for this project and was working 16hr days, so I just left my computer on over night with CS5 open.  I published the presentation and sent it for approval.  Once everything was approved closed CS5.
When I reopened it many, (around 30ish) of my images have been corrupted the same way.  I went back to my previous backups and the last 8hrs worth also have the corruption.
    My questions are:
    Is this a known bug?
Is this something I can easily and permanently fix in this demo or as long as I use it will it keep on screwing up?
Is this issue only with images or is my action script also likely to be corrupted?
    Thanks

I also noticed that the images that didn’t get corrupted were the ones that were added after I last moved my FLA.  I believe the reason for this, is that even though the images are stored in the FLA, it tries to update them from the last known update path.  If it can not find the image there it substitutes the next image in flash folder structure that has an image located in the update path.  If I had time to play with it I would temporarily replace all the images on the hard drive with one not used in my project to see if they get used as well as doing other things to prove my theory one way or the other.
I did test the theory with the first image I fixed, which reloaded correctly when I restarted Flash, but I have not looked at the project since I fixed the rest, so I hope I am right.  By the sounds of what you are saying I am very worried.
Another thing I would like to test, would saving as CS4. Closing and opening then saving as CS5 solve the issues.  One thing I don’t really know, what is lost when saving as CS4?
Thanks again for your help, if any further corruption occurs I will follow your advice.  I will also let you know if I find any more stable way to work around this bug. Or if I find the exact cause.
    Thanks again

  • Beginner - mouse over IE line -  and click problem

    My test swf - -
    http://www.jennyweir.com/testSite/
How would I remove that white mouseover white line near the
edges of the page (as seen on IE7)
I made the swf full screen to try to get it to dissapear -
but full screen is apparently only nearly full screen and it is
    still there
I would like to learn how to make an swf which can live
seamlessly in a matching html page so would appreciate knowing what
to do. There is a setting I chose which I thought would fix it
(show border) but it has not worked
    Also - click problem:
in Flash, I made a fill layer into a button (100% size also
and under the visible elements ) so that I could attach a goto url
    action (up)
on this swf you have to click twice to go to the url
I dont follow how this has come to be
    appreciate any pointers

    Hi Gavlong
Did you try adding the background color parameter in the HTML
of your page? This is different than the background in the Flash
file. I looked at the source for your page and I didn't see it.
Regarding your double-click problem it may be due to an
Internet Explorer update from earlier in the year. I've read a few
bits about how for some interactive web apps (Flash is included in
the list of affected programs) the user needs to 'activate' the
control by pressing SPACEBAR or ENTER. That would explain the need
for the second click. Apparently there's a way to enable the
control from your web page by using and external .js file but I
haven't implemented it. Here are a couple of related
links...hopefully they are of some help:

  • Hover mouse over a group photo & individual image pops up?

My project is to do a mouse hover over individual faces on a group photo and display an image of what that person looked like back in high school.
So far I am able to display the persons name as I hover over their face but don't know how to also display their individual image.
I set up an image map with circular hotspots for each face.
    Please visit www.phsclassof1956.com/50th_group.html

You could do this very easily with Tooltips on an Image Map.  See example below and mouse over Image Map of South America.

    No Problem.
I was assuming that you know you can change the font/size/colour etc in the Appearance > Text tab.
But as for defining what is shown in the Mouse-Over, then that is a no.
The SAP guys read these forums so I'm sure your request will be noticed.
