I am creating a keyboard in flash. i want to move cursor
position in TextField to insert new character, if anybody knows

I have a problem in java script.
To move cursor from one textbox to another text box ,I have take the length of the textboxes of the first column.I used onkeyDown event .
in the function ,firest i checked the condition like

by using this the cursor is moving from first text box to secon textbox and stops.
if i use event.returnValue=false; instead of return false ,then the cursor automatically going to the laxt textbox of the column.
my problem is how i can focus the cursor from one textbox to another textbox one after the other till the end.
if any one has solution please help me.
also if we can do in another way also,please help me.

Inserting text into a field at the current cursor position

Does anyone know how to insert text into a field at the current cursor position? I would like it to work similar to the Syntax Palette in Forms. I cannot figure out how to retrieve the current cursor position in order to manipulate the text.
Any help would be great.

Hi,
If the button and the textfield are on in the same subform then this code should work in the click event of the button
(This is JavaScript code so make sure the code is set to JavaScript and Client on the drop downs in the script window)
(assuming the name of the textfield is TextField1)
TextField1.rawValue = "some value";
If they are in different subforms then you have 2 options
Please note in both these options it is easier if the subforms have names ( I am assuming this to keep samples simple)
option 1 -
use the parent object to move up the tree till you are at the same level as that of the subform that contains the textfield
e.g.
(Click Event of the button)
this.parent.subformname.TextField1.rawValue = "some value";
option 2 -
Use the resolve node to make your way down from the top level of the form
xfa.resolveNode ("form1.subformname.TextField1").rawValue = "some value";

Cursor position on screen data in module pool programming(urgent)

I developed a module pool program which will save the data after scanning the barcode data.
In my program screen 100 is there which contains field 2dbar. scanned data is comming to 2dbar field.
we r doing scan 4 times.once for vendor number,once for material no. like this.
After 1st scan, vendor number will come to field 2dbar.
Then I developed logic to put comma after each scanned data come to this field 2dbar.
MODULE put_comma INPUT.
CASE OK_CODE.
when ''.
move 2dbar to 2dbar1.
clear 2dbar.
concatenate 2dbar1 ',' into 2dbar2.
*replace 2dbar with 2dbar2 into 2dbar.
move 2dbar2 to 2dbar.
*write 2dbar2 to 2dbar.

*move '' to 2dbar.
*set cursor field 2dbar offset 5.

By above logic, comma comes to the starting position of 2dbar after each scan. i.e cursor position is coming to the starting position of screen field 2dbar.
Now I need to move the cursor position after the comma position on 2dbar after each scan.

then my logic puts a comma when u put enter on screen 100.
now 2dbar contains
vmotorola,
i should get the cursor position after the comma.but i am getting cursor position before 'v'.so how to move this cursor position beyond comma after each scan.

You still haven't explained what a text box is.
Repeating what you've already said in "BOLD" text doesn't make the question any clearer.
What does the changing cursor position have to do with anything. I can use the arrow keys to move the cursor without changing the text.

I don't think this is possible in general, although some individual apps might do it. Normally you use a direction control from an app menu or at the system level.

How can I mover cursor in y axis at MouseUp

I'de like to move the mouse(cursor) position up in the y-axis
(by say - 30 pixels) each time the mouse is clicked.
Any advice would be appreciated.

you can't control the mouse with actionscript. you can create
a custom cursor and you can control that using actionscript.
but it still wouldn't make sense to alter the cursor's
position as you're describing unless you want to aggrevate
users.

Controling the cursor position

Hi all,
I have two x, and y signal outputs from a dll module and I plan to use them to control the cursor position. One problem I'm facing is that my signals are variable enough to cause the cursor to vibrate in stationary setting. So, I use hysterysis (putting threshold) to eliminate these fluctuations but the drawback is that keeping the treshold high enough to eliminate the fluctuations keeps me from getting a nice, smooth movement when the speed of movement (rate of x and y changing) is low. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.
p.s. I am using "SetCursorPos".dll as you might have already guessed.

The formula for an exponential filter of degree D is the following:
New Average = (New Value + (D-1)*Old Average)/D
I usually add a special case for startup so that D is never greater than the number of points.
As I said, it is a low-pass filter, much like using a running average. I usually like it because the state is simply a single value (Old Average) instead of the array of values you have to keep around to do a running average.
As to the new question of separating high-frequency noise from your high-frequency signal, that is a bit more complicated (obviously). You should take a power spectrum of the noise to see if there is a characteristic feature you can use (cutoff frequency, strong peaks).

OCI: how to move cursor?

I'm writing a program with OCI (for Oracle server -linux) and gonna handle
as much data as number of millions.
The problem is that I have to show a page which can hold only 10~50 records
at once and if 30 records from 100000th row through 100030th row is to be shown,
I think I have to move cursor to the starting position(100000th row in this
case), right?
Is there anyone who can tell me how to make this work with oci library function?
All I can do at the moment is passing all those previous 99999 records by and
select next 30 records. You know, this takes very very long time and makes no
sense to end users.
Any suggestions or idea would be greatly appreciated.

OCI doesn't have any screen handling functions nor is it the purpose of OCI. If you want screen handling functions, you can use curses or GTK+ or, if you really want to shoot yourself in a foot, MFC.

changes. I created a reference for the cursor array and registered a dynamic
event 'Value change' for it. The event does not fire when the cursor changes

the cursor's X or Y fields. In contrast, when I register e.g. the 'Mouse Up'
event for the cursor array, the event IS detected.

So this is the same behaviour as that of a regular control which also does
not fire a 'Value changed' event when it gets updated by e.g. writing to a

At least the cursor's behavior is consistent then...
But unfortunately also the direct user interaction with the cursor's numeric
field does not fire the event, which is NOT consistent.
I was trying to catch cursor changes in my event loop and had used a 'Mouse
Up' event of the graph indicator to look for cursor changes (whose last
position I had kept in a local or shift reg). In order not to miss a direct
user interaction in the numeric field I added the dynamic event 'Value
change' to the same event case, but with no success, it missed the direct
entry ...

Cursor positions cause DIAdem VIEW to work slowly

Hi All,
I have a file that has approximately 180 pages in the VIEW portal, each with a chart. When processing these charts I employ the Band Cursor to select ranges on each curve and then calculate values based on that range. Then I move to the next sheet and do the same thing.
After building lots of pages I notice things slow down significantly. In the bottom left corner of the screen I see the following message "X-Cursor1: 0.153 Y-Cursor1: 1.63E+04 Z-Cursor1:0" and the values change many times before moving along with my request. I am pretty sure the program is going through each sheet and reading the cursor positions. This wastes a lot of time.
Is there a way to 'turn off' the cursors or do something similar so that this doesn't happen every time I switch into the VIEW module? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your feedback. I've sent you an e-mail containing the relevant DIAdem contents and code.
To answer some of the questions on here that I did not address specifically oin the e-mail:
The calculations on each sheet are completed within the script. Things seem to slow down when the script initiates interaction mode and then the user uses cursors to specify a range of data on a chart. After clicking to end interaction mode the script continues working.
I hope that clears up some of the ambiguity of how the code is running.

Cursor Position without Tool Suite?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows whither or not it is possible to determine the current cursor position of the current tool without using the Tool Suite.
In other words, I want to know the position of the cursor - regardless of the currently selected tool - not that of a custom tool. I hope it is possible, but I was not able to find anything...
I greatly appreciate any tips.

It is not possible, but it's quite easy to tap into the OS & use the AIDocumentViewSuite to translate global coordinates into document coordinates. We do something like this in our product so I can tell you it works. You just need to make sure you 'hook in' to the correct window -- namely the document window you'd like to track mouse movements in.
