Move cursor to relevant item

Hi,
I would like to perform something like the HELP in Oracle Forms do, when you key in 'A', the cursor will point to the first help topic start with 'A'.
Can anyone help ?

But, if i want to allow users to key in more than 1 character and the cursor should move to the relevant item based on each character typed, is there other solution than this one ?
E.g. In the hierarchy tree, i have the following items :
CALENDAR
CEILING
CITY
When users type C, the cursor move to 'CALENDAR', but when user type the following character as E, then the cursor should move to 'CEILING'.

I have set an error message to have sold-to and ship-to equal in some cases.
When the error message is displayed the cursor moves to the material field in the sales order leaving the header greyed out.
I need it in the sold-to party field (kuagv-kunnr) but I need to do this from USEREXIT_CHECK_VBAP.
Any ideas?

but when i change the value in the item (F1 or F2) of master block and tab our the detailed block should clear but its not happening as i have used clear_block('detailed Block Name')What do you mean? The joining between master and detail block using one of the column (F1 or F2)? If yes. Then why are you changing the value of primary key? It should not allow you to change. Form will display error like Child records exists etc.
but when we open a form after entering the value in the Item of master block and shows error no data found.. (bcoz as no data to clear in the detailed block).Really i am confused now. Because NO_DATA_FOUND error comes when any SQL fires to fetch data from database. Not at the time of using CLEAR_BLOCK built-in. I did not understand what you are trying to achieve.
i mean when i change the values in the master block fields and tab out the detail block should get cleared and when we click again on the Go button the corresponding data should display.Why it should get cleared? I mean if you are entering the data in master block and records are already being fetched then what is the need to change the existing record.
If you mean to say that the record you already fetch through the button. Then you change the existing record and you are supposing that form should behave like the button is doing now if records exists then fetch otherwise should go to the detail block and user can enter the new values then you should give one more button on the form to clear the screen and use same method to fetch records which you used for the button as i showed above.

Try the following
Open the forms personalization window
Seq: 10
description : Move cursor
Level : Function
On Condition Tab-
Trigger Event : when-new-item-instance
Trigger Object:- (The field on which the cursor is appearing now when you open the form ) for eg : If I am working on a vendor Master form in that case it would be -VNDR.VENDOR_NAME_MIR.
Processing Mode : Both
Context:
whatever context you want to do it respoansibility level or user level.
On the Actions Tab
Seq: 1
Type: Bulletin
Bulletin type : GO_ITEM
Argument : The field to which you want to navigate to. (In my case I want to navigate to Alternate name on the Vendor master form so it would be VNDR.VENDOR_NAME_ALT_MIR).

Concerning the screen by web-dynpro, I have a problem that when I select one listbox after selecting another listbox, the screen moves up to the top automatically.
I would like to prevent from above moving.

there are two events which have been used, one is doubleclick event and the other one is on selecting the item from the list and clicking on OK button(this will be the most frequently used function, i cannot use event target event for this OK button... ) . I have attached the screen shot. Please have a look at it and let me know how can i achieve that...
I can use custom event, but the main problem is that the inline itemeditor's details are not accessible in the code.... I can access some function from within the inline itemeditor combo box using outerDocument.myFunction() (this is something like GET). Is there a similar way, to SET the data into this itemeditor?

You can also move the cursor without using the GUI Scripting.
Here are some examples :

I am trying to do return delivery( Sales Return) through the transaction code "VL01N" but I am getting the error "No delivery-relevant items in order 0060000120, order type ZNRE, Message no. VL455".
1) I did Check the Sales Order Document "ZNRE" at Transaction Code VOV8, there Delivery Type "LR" is assigned, both the order and delivery related billing are assigned with "RE-Credit For Returns and Sales Document Category is "H-Returns".
2) I did check the Item Category "REV" at Transaction Code "VOV7", there both Schedule Line and Returns box are with check and Item Relv f Delv is Uncheck.
3) I did check Schedule Line Category "ZZ-No MRP" at Transaction Code "VOV6", there Item relv f Del is check and movement type 651-Good Ret. Del Returns.
4) I did check Copy Control at VTLA, LR is delivery type and ZNRE is order type is maintained properly both the side at header level and item level.
5) I did check at Return Sales Order Document Flow, it is as follows below

Please check few things.
whether the immediate delivery switch is clicked for the document type (just to make sure delivery is not actually created in the background). or else check and confirm in the doc.flow.
Then keep item category as relevant for delivery.
Now in table VBUK or VBUP , you check whats the delivery relevance . give your sales order no as VBELN .
I hope you know to use SE11 /SE16N etc
It will be NOT RELEVANT FOR DELIVERY.
now comes to va02, make some changes in the qty and save.
Check whether VBUK/VBUP-delivery relevance field is updated.
Even if you have made a change in the item category - relevance for delivery , it will not affec the documents which were already created.
Now if its a DEV or QAS, make a fresh order and test. It should work.
If its prdn, please let us know. We will have to edit 2 fields in the table VBUK and VBUP.

I have a problem in java script.
To move cursor from one textbox to another text box ,I have take the length of the textboxes of the first column.I used onkeyDown event .
in the function ,firest i checked the condition like
for(i=0;i<form1.box.length;i++) //box is the name of the textboxes

form1.box[i+1].focus();
return false;
by using this the cursor is moving from first text box to secon textbox and stops.
if i use event.returnValue=false; instead of return false ,then the cursor automatically going to the laxt textbox of the column.
my problem is how i can focus the cursor from one textbox to another textbox one after the other till the end.
if any one has solution please help me.
also if we can do in another way also,please help me.

ok, you mean: When the form is starting you want to disable some menues.
create a WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE-trigger in your form and then do the loop over the menu-item

Use of cost relevant Item categories L2N and G2N for debit and credit memo

Dear Forum memebers,
For credit and debit memo one of the customised client repot is showing cost value which is not expected for credit and debit memo in the invoice register.
This is due to use of L2N and G2N which are cost relevant item categories.
Why should debit and credit memo item category should be cost relevant.??

Well if your company do not want to adjust the cost of goods sold when any credit / debit is raised, then yes you can go ahead.

Status in Service Order Confirmation-relevant items

Hi SDNs,
When I create a confirmation follow-up from a service order / repair order/ etc, an set it to completed, relevant items in order keep in released status. Shouldn't they get completed too?

Hi Pablo,
As of now standard SAP Service Order Confirmation status completion will not change the status of the preceding Service Order. But the customers can call and implement this scenario using the BadI : ORDER_SAVE which gets called after every Save. I feel that customers can hook their business specific logic here and thus can control the Status Management. Status of Service Confirmation is very important as it triggers the subsequent processes like Billing and Delivery.
Do you have such scenario where you need to change the preceding document? It would be great if you can share it in the forum.

I am working on "Create Return Delviery" through the transaction code VL01N with reference to return sales order no "60000119". I am getting error "No delivery-relevant items in order 0060000119, order type ZNRE", even though i have created return sales order with reference to billing document no but still getting this error. Dear DHEERENDARJAIN,
This error might be many reasons.
Check in VOV8 return delivery type(LR) has been assigned or not.
Try to look after in to the copy controls in between Return sales document(RE) to return delivery document(LR).(VTLA)
Check item category return indicator has to be activated.
Schedulines allowed in indicator has to be activated.
Please revert if you have any further clarifications
