Move loading slow

Hi guys please check out my site
emoney designs. I am having
a problem with my .flv movies. If you go to my site go to
portfolio, then commercials. Click on any of the commercials they
are really choppy and slow. The way I created these is by taking
the original hi-rez quicktime and exported it to .flv files. Then I
imported the .flv file into flash 8 and used the url link to
another file on my site. Is this the correct way to do it? Is there
a way for me to check the .flv files to make sure they exported out
of quicktime ok? Also if you have any comments on the site they are
welcome.
Thanks, Erik

First, thats a really long title, silly long if im honest
Second :
Have you done the basics?
Reboot phone ( turn off then on)
Hard reset ( hold power and home buttons until you get the apple logo )
Are you using it on wifi or network? Safari, app store need a decent network connection to work normally.
Thanks for your rant though

  • External swf movie loading slow

    Hello,
    I am working on this site and I am doing a video page. I am
    loading video externally by creating an empty movie clip. I then
    assign a video to a button to call the external swf video. This
    works great locally but when I upload it to production it is SUPER
    slow.
    My purpose of loading it externally was to make it load
    faster. The video is 3 minutes long. The external swf file I
    created for the video is 5.2 MB.
    I would appreciate any help you can provide.
    Thanks

    Here are a couple of references that might help:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/video_guide_03.html
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/mx2004/main_7_2/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?cont ext=Flash_MX_2004&file=00000338.html
    Using the video as a SWF file means it has to load the entire
    movie before it plays anything. As a FLV file, it starts to play as
    the file is still being loaded. I would recommend trying to use the
    File -> Import -> Import Video and look a Progressive
    Download option. I don't recall off-hand if it's available that
    easily in MX2004, but that's how it works with CS3. If that doesn't
    work, the second link has some code to try.

  • Error playing movie on slow connection

    I get the following error when I load a movie with slow connection:
    Cannot read property 'symbolData' of undefined
    I've managed to find the cause:
    Movie_edgeActions.js file is invoked with autonomous function as soon as it loads. Unfortunately, the Movie_edge.js file is usually much bigger than the edgeActions file (we're talking about dozens of kbs for the edge file compared to 3, maybe 5 kb for the edgeActions file). So on slow connection, the actions file is executed before the edge file is even loaded into the browser.
    Very easy to simulate:
    Open the movie with fiddler running as a proxy.
    Use fiddler "simulate modem speeds" and "Disable Caching" options (Rules->Performance).
    I think it's a serious bug. It's very likely to happen when surfing on 3G...
    Until it is fixed (I'd love to have a due date estimation), I'm planning on manually changing the autonomous function call, and call it myself when both files are loaded. I'll try to cope with it myself, but if anyone has already done it, or know how I should do it, I'd be happy to get some guidance.
    Addition: I've changed the anonymous function to a named function and I call it on AdobeEdge.bootstrapCallback (I did something similiar to this post).
    It works great with normal connection, but on slow connection the callback is never called. Moreover, I see the edge.js file being transfered on fiddler with http status 200, I also see it in chromes network monitor with status 200, but it doesn't get added to the scripts list on chrome developer tools. So I think the problem is actually in the preloader itself. I'll try working around it somehow...
    Last thing regarding performance - is there a plan to include in the publish an option to create the entire movie (preloader, actions and edge) as a single minified js file?
    We have an implementation that coordinate 5 different movies, which implies loading 15 different js files (or at least 10, because I can integrate the preloaders into my own js file). As you probably understood, on 3G it can mean lot of times until the entire application is loaded.
    Thanks,
    Lior

    EDIT:  I reverted the changes in the actions file (it works also with autonomous function).
    The AdobeEdge.yepnope.errorTimeout is declared inside AdobeEdge.requestResources function in the preloader, so I declared this function in my main html, so it won't be overriden by any of the generated preloaders
    What do you mean "so I declared this function in my main html".
    Can you help me by providing samples of your code? This errorr is pissing me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Cheers.

  • FLV in a linked Movie Clip slow to show at runtime

    Hi All,
    I have a linked FLV in a FLVPlayback, inside a movie clip that is a child of my main timeline. Let's call it 'redBoxMovie'. I have bitmaps on the stage and the redBoxMovie. I would like the first frame of the redBoxMovie to be visible on the stage along with the bitmaps as soon as the flash movie shows in the web browser. However, when I open the swf in the browser I see the bitmaps for about a 1/2 second before the first frame of the redBoxMovie.
    Is that because it's a linked flv? Is there any way to assure everything shows on the stage at the same time (bitmaps and flv)?
    Thanks

    Ok so it looks like you're referring to the method of placing a screenshot of the flv on the stage in front of the flv so that users don't notice that the flv loads more slowly than the other bitmaps on the stage, right?
    yes
    Looks like I'll have to do this (since embedding the flv in the main swf, which avoids the slow-to-show problem, is not recommended).
    that's also correct (and it will make your entire swf load slower).
    Thanks Kglad.
    you're welcome.

  • Have download 350 movies to Ext HD using itunes. Left itunes library on desktop drive. My computer now runs very slowly. Is there a better way to add movies without slowing my computer down?

  • Oracle Forms loading slower with Sun JRE in Oracle E-Business Suite 11i

    Hi,
    After Deploying Sun JRE (Native Plug-in) for Windows Clients in Oracle E-Business Suite 11i (Note 290807.1) we find that Oracle Forms are loading slower than using Jinitiator.
    Also the PDF reports are opening in a minimized fashion. Meaning the PDF reports are opening correctly in new browser window (as expected) but is minimized.
    Customer is not willing to go live with Sun JRE due to these issues.
    Plz advice is there is any additional configuration I need to do.
    Rgds,
    Thiru

    When the JRE was installed/configured on the workstations was the jar cache placed on a LAN drive instead of the local drive? We have experienced poor performance with both the JRE and Jinitiator when the Workstation Sysadmins configured the jar cache to be located on a LAN drive. Also is the size of the jar cache on the workstation sufficient to hold all of your required jar files. It could be downloading the jar files all the time.
    Overall our performance with the JRE is comparible to the Jinitiator.
    Sorry I have not experienced the problem that you are having with you pdf reports so I can't provide any comments on it.

  • My website is loading slow

    I have just started a site and i am having people say the site is loading slow for them.
    Is due to imaging sizing or something else?
    www.prodry.expert
    Any help would be appercaited and any comments would be helpful this is my first site.

    Hi Alexis Walters,
    The site loads within 4 seconds at my end. The bandwidth (modem/connection speed) also plays a major role in determining the time it takes for a web page to load on your computer.

  • Poster Frame QT Movie linked to standard QT Movie loads in Firefox not I.E.

    Ok, this may be a rare question here. Here's what I've done following a small blurb of directions in iMovie6/iDVD the Missing Manual by David Pogue. (awesome book)
    I've created a "poster frame movie" in QT. This is a one -frame movie I use as the picture on the page.
    This poster frame movie, when clicked, is linked to a full version of the same movie that opens in the same place. The reason for this poster frame movie is to start the QT plug-in download as soon as someone reaches my page so there is no wait time when they click to watch the movie, it should be instantaneous.
    I tested this last night on my Mac with Firefox, and after clicking the poster frame movie (i.e.) the picture; the linked movie loaded right away. This worked on PC with Firefox as well.
    However, when this is page is loaded in Internet Explorer, on Mac or PC, the poster frame movie is there, but when clicked, the full movies do not load.
    Can anyone think of why or what setting I.E. may have that doesn't allow my QT movies to load when other browsers allow it?

    Yup, that's your problem.
    Before the <embed> you should add:
    <param name="href" value="http://blip.tv/file/get/Awarner20-AnniversarySecondTry745.mov">
    <param name="target" value="myself">
    As predicted, your problem is that while the QuickTime plug-in has the HREF and TARGET parameters, they are missing from your OBJECT code, meaning that the QuickTime ActiveX Control will never see them. You need to include all parameters in both places (unless you want different behavior in IE).
    Also, TECHNICALLY, you should also add a </embed> just before the </object>. The <embed> tag, like, for instance, the <p> tag is self-closing, but the most recent XML standard (HTML is a subset of XML) says, "Thou shalt close all of thy tags". So it won't make a bit of difference in function, but it is good practice. And yes, you should also close your <p> tags and use <br /> or <br></br>, too.
    (although technically we're not supposed to use EMBED at all anymore, as it isn't in the HTML spec, but it works with all browsers except IE while OBJECT doesn't always...)

  • My website loads slow in Firefox

    Hello,
    I'm using Firefox 13.0.1 and it works great on other websites.
    But my own website is loading slow..
    Any idea what can be the problem please?
    The website is fast in IE.. So it's not a problem with the website.

    It's not only on my pc
    All firefox users are complaining that the website loads very slow.

  • Scoping Question when one movie loads a second movie

    I have a movie that is just a preloader for the main movie.
    This preloader movie has the loader and progress bar components so
    that I can show the process of the main movie loading. When I load
    a sound file in frame 1 of the main movie to be used later in the
    movie and run the main movie (with out being called from the
    preloader movie) the sound will play when it is called (told to
    play). However if I call the main movie from the preloader movie,
    the sound will not play. To make the sound play I have to load the
    sound in the preloader movie.
    I am sure that this is a scoping problem and I am not correctly
    coding for the location of the sound.
    The code for loading the sound is :
    if(_global.Behaviors == null)_global.Behaviors = {};
    if(_global.Behaviors.Sound == null)_global.Behaviors.Sound =
    if(typeof this.createEmptyMovieClip == 'undefined'){
    this._parent.createEmptyMovieClip('BS_sndErrorMsg',new
    Date().getTime()-(Math.floor((new Date().getTime()) /10000)*10000)
    _global.Behaviors.Sound.sndErrorMsg = new
    Sound(this._parent.BS_sndErrorMsg);
    } else {
    this.createEmptyMovieClip('_sndErrorMsg_',new
    Date().getTime()-(Math.floor((new Date().getTime()) /10000)*10000)
    _global.Behaviors.Sound.sndErrorMsg = new
    Sound(this.BS_sndErrorMsg);
    _global.Behaviors.Sound.sndErrorMsg.attachSound("ErrorMsgSound");
    if (false) {
    _global.Behaviors.Sound.sndErrorMsg.start(0,1);
    The code to play the sound is:
    _global.Behaviors.Sound.sndErrorMsg.start(0,1);
    I would like to keep the preloader movie as small as possible
    and don’t want to load any sound files in it.
    How do I load the sound files in the main movie and play them
    when needed (using actionscripts) from the main movie when the main
    movie is loaded from the preloader movie?
    Thank you,
    Steve

    Putting the following code on frame one in the movie being
    loaded by the preloader corrected the problem.
    this._lockroot=true;
    The following is what Flash 8 help file says about
    _lockroot
    _lockroot (MovieClip._lockroot property)
    public _lockroot : Boolean
    A Boolean value that specifies what _root refers to when a
    SWF file is loaded into a movie clip. The _lockroot property is
    undefined by default. You can set this property within the SWF file
    that is being loaded or in the handler that is loading the movie
    clip.
    For example, suppose you have a document called Games.fla
    that lets a user choose a game to play, and loads the game (for
    example, Chess.swf) into the game_mc movie clip. Make sure that,
    after being loaded into Games.swf, any use of _root in Chess.swf
    refers to _root in Chess.swf (not _root in Games.swf). If you have
    access to Chess.fla and publish it to Flash Player 7 or later, you
    can add this statement to Chess.fla on the main Timeline:
    this._lockroot = true;
    If you don't have access to Chess.fla (for example, if you
    are loading Chess.swf from someone else's site into chess_mc), you
    can set the Chess.swf _lockroot property when you load it. Place
    the following ActionScript on the main Timeline of Games.fla:
    chess_mc._lockroot = true;
    In this case, Chess.swf can be published for any version of
    Flash Player, as long as Games.swf is published for Flash Player 7
    or later.
    When calling loadMovie(), set the MovieClip._lockroot
    property to true in the loader movie, as the following code shows.
    If you don't set _lockroot to true in the loader movie, any
    references to _root in the loaded movie point to the _root of the
    loader instead of the _root of the loaded movie:
    myMovieClip._lockroot = true;
    Availability: ActionScript 1.0; Flash Player 7

  • TS3623 I have a 3rd generation Apple TV. I have purchased and/or rented numerous movies from iTunes previously. Last night we rented a movie, and we were unable to play it. The movie loaded fine; however, it is stuck on the 'Authorizing' screen. Help??!

    I cannot get rented itunes movies to play on my appletv. It keeps getting stuck on the "Authorizing.." screen. Movie loaded fine; however, would not start playing.  I have an ethernet cable plugged in, so wireless connectivity strength is a non-issue. Any suggestions??

    I have had this identical issue (on an Apple TV3) and was helped by Apple Support who guided me to go to the Settings Menu on the Apple TV and did a RESET. You will need to re connect to your WIFI and your iTunes account (passwords etc).

  • How to hide TOC during movie loading

    Hi All,
    Is there a way to hide TOC (rendered outside of the main clip) during movie loading? I wanted TOC to appear either as the whole clip is loaded or when the first slide is opened.
    Any suggestions, please?
    Thank you
    Andy

    I have just tried to do this today actually but was unsuccessful.
    I wanted to disable the possibility of the user to navigate from the TOC before the entire course had loaded. I have some information on the first slide that I want the user to see, but now they can just skip by clicking a link in the TOC before all the content has been loaded.
    Initially I thought that the variable cpLockTOC could be used to atleast disable the TOC interaction since the decription is "Enables/ disables user interaction on TOC". However, no matter what I tried it didn't work.
    I tried to set the variable directly in Captivate on the first slide, but the TOC is actually loaded before the first slide so that was unsuccessful.
    The I tried to set the variable through JavaScript from the HTM file, but that didn't help either.Navigation through the TOC is still possible even though the course haven't finished loading yet.
    I can manipulate the TOC from within the Captivate movie by embedding some special Flash "animations" / Widgets I have. These can send commands to the TOC and for example open / close the TOC if you are using the overlay mode. They can also hide / show the standard overlay button, which isn't exactly pretty. I'm pretty sure that I could make a Flash file that would hide the TOC completely when run from within Captivate, but it won't help me because the content in the Captivate movie isn't loaded until after the TOC has loaded.
    Manish - what is the function of the cpLockTOC variable? Isn't it to disable/enable the users interaction with the TOC alltogether? If so can this variable not be set from the HTM file on load?

  • SharePoint Page loading slowness

    After our company went through some acquisition process windows team established a two-way trust relationship between our DC and theirs. But, I suspect due to greater distance between the location of two data-centers users from both side experiencing a significant
    page load slowness. There is a plan to merge two data-centers in near future but I'm just wondering if someone has any idea how we can overcome this while waiting?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I don't think so DC distance is going to be the issue. Enable Developer dashboard to see the queries running on the page which could help you to identify the issue better

    Can we assume Premiere Elements 11 on either Windows 7 or 8 64 bit?
