Hi In my application i have to move running remote window or application to left top of windows desktop, but that remote application doesnt has any title name, please help me to do this ,

You can get the application handle, from the name displayed in the task manager Applicaitions tab. Then pass on this handle to the Move Window WIN32 API, alongwith the new position you want.

Are you running 10.6 Snow Leopard as your profile indicates?
If so, it sounds like maybe an Expose or Active Screen Corners issue?
Go to Apple > System Preferences > Expose & Spaces > Expose and
1. experment with the Active Screen Corners selections
2. take a look at your F key settings for Expose
3. lastly check your Dashboard settings

Can't get rid of the black window Remote Desktop Connection left on my screen

MacBook Air thinks that Remote Desktop Connection is open but I can't close the black window (where it shows the IP Address of the computer I had remoted into). It left the black windown opened on my screen. I can't even click on any menu tabs or take the app to the trash because it thinks it's still open. Well aware I can use different screens on my Mac but I want that black window gone! Thanks.

I don't understand what you mean when you say 'I can view the main pages', but, you've probably set your video playback to full screen.
Move the cursor to the top of the screen and go to View, down at the bottom of the list go to Video Playback, and then select 'None' from the list of options.

The problem of tracks becoming de-linked between iTunes and the music files in your iTunes music folder happens for different reasons - this seems to come up fairly commonly in this forum.
The solution can be to locate each song in the iTunes library, as you mentioned - or, but wait, before I get to that...
trouble finding the original track in your iTunes music folder? maybe look for it under compilations, or if not using the 'group compilations preference' then look in the folder under the songs artist name, but what song artist name iTunes uses depends on what you have in the metedata tag spot for album artist or song artist. Any varyation in artist name spelling, in the menu item 'get info' metadata for any selected individual track will cause iTunes to create that as a separate artist folder in the library, even names like 'various' or any difference at all (even the word 'the' can change where in your iTunes music folder a track gets placed by iTunes). You can try to use the finder function of find file (finder munu item outside of iTunes) to locate hard to find items.
Back to how to re-link any de-linked tracks .
There may be scripts that can help re-link de-linked music files - or, at least provide you a list of such files, Scripts are easy to install and use...

thanks for the fast response. cs5 remembered the window position. I like having the window in the middle as I have a 27" monitor. I just upgraded to cs6 yesterday and I'm sure it was remembering the window document position. I think. If i find out how to fix this, I'll post it here.
And while I'm on the subject of cs6, why the f*** did adobe combine the stroke and swatches pallettes? Now I forever have to click stroke and swatch tabs all day. And I love the army and navy file icons of photoshop and illustrator. I won't comment on Acrobat X. ; (

Positioning of monitor and (dis)ability to move certain windows

I just got a LCD TV with DVI which I connected to my MBP.
at first I had it on the table positioned to the right. All windows could move back and forth just fine. but, to save table space I mounted the TV to the wall just above my MBP and reset the position in the displays pref accordingly.
with the position on top I can move most windows up there (iTunes, address book, etc...)
but not certain essential windows like safari or mail.
the weird thing is it's not just the apps that are restricted as certain windows like the downloads window in safari will move up normally.
I've done all I can think of, restarting reseting the display prefs....
Is this just a glitch? or some code snippet in safari and mail that got left out?
any help would be great.

Maybe try shortening the height of the window prior to moving it up to the TV. It could be that the window is too long to fit on the screen and Mac OS won't let it move if it would go behind the menu bar (which I presume to be in the lower display). Or the other thing to try would be to drag the menu bar to the top display (in Display Preferences) and then see if windows will move from below to above.

Is there a Shortcut key to move a window with the cursor?

After Yosemite it seems that the area at the top of windows shrunk and I have to look for a vacant spot to grab the window and move it around the desktop. Is there a short cut key that you can enter and move a window using the cursor from wherever the cursor is on a window?

Sorry, no. Only way to move the window is to place the cursor between the address box and icons on the left or right of the address box and grab.

Unexpected performance of Firefox in Windows 7, namely minimize/maximize/close buttons not working and unable to move/resize window.

I have been using FF for a while now. My main computer was WinXP-32, though I recently bought a new laptop with Win7-64 installed. This problem was never experienced on my WinXP machine.
Brief description of problem:
After a time of having FF up and running, the minimize/maximize/restore/close buttons in the top-right no longer work as expected and, if not maximised, I cannot move the window around my desktop nor resize the browser window. When clicked, the buttons will
rapidly flash on and off continuously without appearing to perform any noticeable function other than temporarily hogging CPU cycles. I've found that clicking (sometimes double clicking) in the main browser window then mousing over the buttons again seems
to stop them flashing, though does nothing else.
To minimize/maximize/restore/move/close the window(s), I have to right-click on the relevant tab in my taskbar and pick the desired option. Occasionally, however, even this doesn't work and the right-click menu will disappear as soon as I move the mouse
over it after right-clicking. 'Show desktop' is a temporary fix for minimising windows and 'ALT + F4' or 'CTRL + W' for closing windows or tabs. This isn't satisfactory and to move or resize a window, I have to close the window in question (sometimes all other
windows too), reopen it and do what I need to do, though sometimes even this is only a very short fix. If I have to close all the windows, FF will sometimes keep running for a while afterwards, even though no windows are actually open - simply ending the process
via the windows task manager will fix this though is only a work-around, not a fix.
One thing I have noticed is that if I manage to move the browser window (when not maximised), for a short period afterwards I can often resize the window successfully. This is more likely to occur if the browser window is not flush with the edge of my screen
once moved.
I've tried to include as much information as I can - most of which was determined after several minutes/hours of playing around with different scenarios, trying to manually reproduce particular problems or simply through sheer luck of happening to click
in the right place at the right time! I hope there is a reasonably fix for this at some point in the not-too-distant future.
I noticed in some of the threads at another site where people have voiced problems similar to mine, that a link to 'ObjectDock' was discovered in some cases. I do have 'ObjectDock 1.90 Plus' installed on my machine and use it in many ways and so decided
to see if I could find a connection between the two. I have uninstalled, tested, and reinstalled both programs in a multitude of ways, though could find no conclusive correlation between having both bits of software running or installed at the same time and
the problems I am experiencing. In my case, at least, this does not appear to be an answer.
Also, in another thread on this site, someone suggested there might be a link with AVG Anti-Virus Free (I have version 9.0.819) though I've tried uninstalling it and its various add-ons in several different combinations, with no noticeable improvement.

You can also check if the issue occurs in
Clean Boot. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, you can continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue.
Besides, uninstall it and re-download
a fresh copy of FireFox to check the result. If the issue still exists, create a new user account to see if it occurs.
If the issue persists, you can contact Mozilla Support directly and use Internet Explorer (IE) during the time.

ITunes 8 - Cannot MOVE the window now!

Since installing iTunes 8 I cannot move the window now - I can resize it no problem but it's stuck at the top of the screen just below the Finder title bar.
Has anyone else had this and fixed it?!

OK it's good the the cause has been identified, but I happen to love AccuBeatMix. It took me forever to find a plug-in that allows smooth fading any time I switch tracks or skip to a different position within a playing song. Hopefully there will be a fix soon. Otherwise I'd rather have a fixed window position iTunes than lose AccuBeatMix.

Mounting a Solaris x86 CD/DVD from a remote Windows CD/DVD-ROM drive

Is it possible to mount a remote Windows CD/DVD-ROM drive? I have the Solaris 10x86 Companion Software DVD sitting in a CD/DVD-ROM drive that's installed on a Windows server on my network. It is shared-out (F:) and the two servers can ping each other. I've also confirmed the NFS services/daemons are running on the Solaris x86 machine. I've tried the following variations but, all have failed to produce successful results:

I've also tried mounting it at bootup by adding the appropriate entry in the /etc/vfstab file but, this does not work as well. It's usually chatter about mounting from one UNIX server to another. Any advice from the community would be greatly appreciated.

After three weeks, you deserve a reply. Windoze does
not natively support NFS.Also deserves a decent answer...
There are two ways to do this:
Install Microsoft's free "Windows Services for UNIX," which includes a Windows NFS server; or
Install the 'sharity' package (google for it); it provides Solaris systems the ability to mount Windows shares

It is never a good idea to move to different hardware, even if it does seem okay and work.
Why not try and see? and then ask what's next.
Obviously you'll have to reactivate when it detects new hardware.

How can i specify the target directory field?
2.Another question, when i specify the target directory like rootFolder/subFolder, then the file is generated in the folder
/usr/sap/XID/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0/rootFolder/subFolder.
Why did it put my path as sub-folder of /usr/sap/XID/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0?
Can i put it in another place? or even start from the root?

This is possible only, when your PI system is installed on Windows OS also.

Because this is the working directory of the Adapter Engine

Can a remote window be closed when the subvi is finished executing?

I am dynamically calling subvi's from a main vi with the but when the remote user closes the browser window, it is causing problems with the connection. I would like to be able to programatically close the web window when the called subvi is done running so that i can ensure that the subvi is done when the window closes. Is there a labVIEW command that can be used here? Close FP and setting the FP:state to closed don't close the remote window. Thank you.

Hi Jeff,
It appears that you are dynamically calling the subvi on a remote machine and you want to close the front panel of the subvi after it is done running on the remote machine.
Make sure that in the subvi, under VI properties>>Window appearance>> Customize, Show Front Panel When Called and Close afterwards if originally closed are both checked. This would close the subvi window when it is done running.
