Moving buttons in a subform switch script

Hi,
I've got a couple of issues with a form I'm making.
1. It's flowable and when I set the subform to be flowed it moves my buttons around at the beginning -- print, reset, e-mail -- and I can't put spacing between them any more. How do I correct that?
2. I have a drop down list that will alter the text in some fields based on the selection. I can get it switch in the first field, but not later ones. I don't know if that's because they're in subforms or what? I had this working yesterday and now it doesn't and I'm not totally sure what I changed.
I tried to put the file on acrobat.com to then put a link in here to it, but it won't let me import it because it's already a pdf. I do have it downloaded, but when open that it tries to save it back on my computer. So if there is another wya to show you the file to be helpful that would be good to know.

You will see I have place the three buttons inside a positioned subform. This allows you to separate the buttons and position them as you want.
The switch statement had an incomplete reference for the last two objects: Subform2.Performance.rawValue and Subform3.PerformanceComments.rawValue.
These showed up in the Javascript Console (Control+J), which you should use to debug your forms. When in preview mode or in Acrobat press Control+J. As you interact with the form any errors should show up here.

I've adopted the script stated in HightlightOneRequiredField.pdf so that the print button in my form can detect and prevent null field before pop up the print dialog. It works fine.
In my form, I've created a mandatory 2-radio buttons group with click event script written, using ".presence", in each button. When user clicks:
Button A: make subform A visible and subform B invisible;
Button B: make subform A invisible and subform B visible.
Apart from the visibility of the subforms, what I want more is to add a .mandatory script (together with the click event) in the buttons to turn some fields' mandatory in the subforms on and off so that when user clicks:
Button A: will also turn some fields' value type in subform A to be "User
Entered-Required", whereas some of that in subform B to be "-
optional";
Button B: will turn the subform B's fields to "-Required" and subform A's
fields back to "-optional"
However no luck with me. When I press the print button after any of the radio buttons checked, the print dialog still show up even the subforms' fields are null as if those fields' value type always remain "-optional"
I wonder if this problem is caused by Chinese binding name ? The script written in the radio button B is:

Yes.
You may have to call into Verizon Customer care if you have a smartphone to remove the data plan and help you move over. Other than that it's a simple swap between devices. Contract doesn't matter unless you negligent in payment(or the person who you bought the device from is).

Place iPhone on Wall Charger for at least 10 minutes. Then keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger. If still problem, open iTunes 10.7 on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, then click Restore button of iTunes. Tooltips for moving buttons

Hi all, I am trying to add tooltips on mouse-over to moving
buttons (the buttons are movie clips acting as buttons). It works
at first, but when the movie clips enter the second motion tween
they start blinking as the movie clips start to play all four
frames that I have given to them (for highlighted and selected). It
seems like my tooltip has cancelled out the stop part of
goToAndStop()… If I click on a movie clip when it is blinking
it stops blinking and goes back to the default state, but then
nothing else work (i.e. highlighting, selecting).
Does anyone recognize this and have any tips on how to solve
it? I have tried to solve this for days and I’m sure
it’s really simple but I am totally new to Actionscript and
completely lost… I would appreciate any kind of help :)

Just wondering if it would be possible to register a MouseMotionListener on your mousePanel that, on mouseMoved, could search the components below it for the top-most button and then set the mousePanel's own toolTipText to match the button's toolTipText. Perhaps SwingUtilities.getDeepestComponentAt() (or something similar) would help. Maybe have a look through the RootPane tutorial (especially the section on the GlassPane) for a similar situation.

can you explain your question like do u have some condtions to show or hide the subform? OR if u click
button you want to show the subform and by default subform should be hidden something like this?
Normally for showing the subfrom on click of the button: (By default make your subform invisible from its properties).
Select the button and in the click event select java script option and write the following code:
Subform.presence = "visible";
(*you have to give full path of the subform instead of only subform name).

Button not disabling using Java Script after confirm message in button

I have a STAGEDATA button on a form with the following code to prevent Resubmissions (Apex 4.0)
Action When Button Clicked:
Action: Redirect to URL
Execute Validations: Yes
URL Target:

When I click the button, the confirmation message is displayed.
However, after the confirmation message is displayed, the button is not disabled and the value does not show, while post processing of the page takes place before moving to the next page.
Am I missing something?

Help with moving buttons

I am totally new with flash. I am using the following
tutorial which I believe I followed correctly.

I just figured it out. The buttons just needed to be moved
down below the bar. It had nothing to do with the
actionscript.

How do I use the button states in an action script?

In my Captivate 8 project I use smart shape as buttons. The buttons have different images presented dependent on the state of the button. I have also created a simple action script that shows what happens when the button is pressed. When the button has been pressed the normal state of the button appear. I, however, want the down state of the button to remain visible util the user presses another button. How do I accomplish this? Is there variables for the buttons different state or how can I create that?

When you talk about 'actionscript' do you mean advanced or shared actions? You cannot write actionscript within Captivate, only Javascript. If you use advanced/shared actions they'll be converted on runtime to either Actionscript (for SWF output) or Javascript (for HTML5 output).
The states in shape buttons are the normal way buttons behave (not only in Flash). If you are indeed using shared/advanced actions, and you want the down state to remain until the next shape button is clicked, you'll have to go the way described by iFlashAppsToo. Create shapes that have the look of the down state, make them initially invisible and group all those shapes on one slide. Add two statements to the shared/advanced action (please do use shared actions, you'll save time):
Hide Group so that eventual down mimicked states on previously clicked buttons disappear
Show Im_Downx to show the down image for that button

How to create a button that Copies subform data and paste it to a new page?

Hi , I'm want to create a button that when clicked copys all the data from the feilds of a subform off the previous page and paste it into current page.
I have used Steve's "Simple table.pdf example" to add a subform called DecorationDetail that has a button that adds an instance when clicked.
Contained in the decorationdetail subform are feilds named Quantity, Description,UnitPrice etc. and a delete instance button.
So when the first page is filled out, and a second page with blank duplicate feilds is added by a add page button. I want to be able to click a button
positioned at the end of the row of feilds, and it then copies the same subform data from the previous coresponding page and pastes it into the current page subform feilds.
Hope this make sense?. A step by step guide would be greatly appreciated!!!.

I have around 20 fields in a subform, how can i get the names of all the fields using script.
I wish to enhance the following script where the field names are hard coded
thereby the script itself will get the names of the field names.

How do I open a window at moving button's current location?

I'm creating a flash movie of various fish swimming across
the screen. At the moment I've got each fish as a movie symbol
inside a button symbol whose position moves across the screen as
the fish swims along. When you click a fish I want text to pop up
at the fish's current location telling you about the fish. The text
sits there while the fish continues to swim away and after a
certain time the text disappears.
The fish swims away but the text needs to stays put. If you
click the fish again the same text appears at the new location as
well, so I need to be able to have multiple instances of the text
on screen at once.
What is the best way to make this text appear at the fish's
current location and disappear again after a certain time? In the
long term I'll probably want to make the text appear in a bubble
and have a little picture of the fish as well. The text for each
fish will be different, describing that species of fish and his
habitat, etc.
I've never touched Flash before so any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Which way should I go? Action Script? Behaviors? Listeners
& Broadcasters? Something else?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Please help!

Well, if you've really got no experience, this may be a
little awkward, but
the answer is yes, it involves ActionScript.
There are several potential solutions, but the basic
principle is to track
the _x, _y coordinates of the fish movieClip when the user
clicks on it.
Then have a dynamic text box that is inside another movieClip
display the
correct text at those specific coordinates. This is not
really a task to
dive into (no pun intended) as a beginner. I'd look into
variables,
functions, and specifically duplicateMovieClip (use this on
the text
movieClip) for starters.

Broken Reset Button on SG 300 Switch - Need to reset

I can't seem to reset my switch and realized the reset button is missing/broken off. Is there an alternate method to reset the switch to factory settings? If not, how do I figure out the IP of the web interface, it is not the default.

Is the web interface simply not loading or do you not have the password? Your DHCP range does not matter unless there is another device on the network that is currently assigned 192.168.1.254. If that is the case you will have trouble accessing the web UI. It is usually easiest to plug ONLY a PC and the switch together and assign a static IP to the PC:
IP Address: 192.168.1.200
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: None
DNS Servers: None
This will allow you to access the switch without interference from other network devices. Remember to change the PC back to DHCP when you are done. If you do in fact have an IP conflict you should also change the switch to a different static IP.
You can also access the switch using a console cable. You can check the settings and see if the web interface has been disabled or you can reset the password in case you lost it. Check the Admin Guide for details:

Custom button to open navigation menu + scripts?

I just tried to make a custom button to open/close the navigation menu. Is there a custom script available for this? Does anyone know if there are any free scripts available for download/import for Adobe Captivate? Is there a way to do it within Captivate without custom scripts?

Hi Steve,
No apologies, each app has its proper jargon, but wanted to be sure.
You do not need a script. Just point to your expand and collapse button in the Settings of the TOC. They will replace the tiny little double arrows that are the default icons. On the screenshot I highlighted that portion of the Settings, open the browse icon to point to your button.
