Dear all,
The setup of our functional team is ready on my TEST server. Now i want to move it to LIVE server. (I am sure that my functional team will not do it again @ LIVE SERVER)So plz tell me how to move with this current setup from test server to LIVE server. Is there any document id in metalink?
Thanks

  • Steps for Go Live for Webtools moving from Test to Production

    Further to the useful checklist in the wiki recently supplied by Bryce can I ask for some minor gaps to be filled ( perhaps by inserting a few additional steps in that document)
    I have yet to hit the issues created by a go live implementation but this is only a matter of time...
    I am trying to work out what needs  to occur between having :
    a) a test B1 database successfully synching to a test WT site and db set up
    and
    b) the Production B1 database initially synched to the the live WT live WT db ready to accept the first live transactions.
    1) Copy WT site from test to live location
    2) Change Server config, settings and Tables tabs in Synch Manager click on 'Install Plugin' to add custom fields to Production B1 database
    3) ......
    I am stuck as to what needs to be done to "reset"  the WT back end db and how one goes about this.
    Coupled with this and probably part of the answer is the 'Initialise Synch' button. It would be useful to understand exactly what this does in terms of data  - presumably it is only transactional data - but which tables are affected?
    Also if there's anything else that I might have overlooked in terms of potential pitfalls I'd be grateful for advice - the recent posts regarding product trees and images come to mind.
    Thanks

    First thing is to plan for some downtime in your B1 databases. Nothing more frustrating than having new data come into b1 when you're trying to set this up. So perhaps do this at night or on a weekend when no one is using B1.
    Install Plugin operation adds UDF's, edits the stored proc in b1 db, and creates the queue table, PRX_Transaction_Queue
    Initialize synch runs upgrade scripts(if applicable), deletes all data that has synched from B1 previously(or would synch from Wt to B1, like a test order created in Wt) and inserts all relevant data into the queue table in B1 db. Also the synchid's are reset. It's pretty much the same list as is displayed on the Settings page of the Synch Manager. Please someone correct me if I'm missing something here!
    Pre-requisites:
    - Name the Wt db relevant to its position in the environment. B1Webtools is not the greatest name, it's meant to be a jumping off point. Rename your Wt db in the way that you would for B1. ie WebtoolsLive, WebtoolsTest. Makes things easier
    Two options:
    1) Presuming you have a test Wt db and a test b1 db or even a test Wt db and a production(live) B1 db, you could duplicate the test Wt db and change the synch manager config to point to the B1 live db. Install the "plugin" on the new B1 live db and enter your table mappings. Initialize synch will delete all the data that has synched from B1 test db to Wt db(now live db) and reset the synch id's to zero. These will be populated during the synch. Then Run Synch.
    Caveat: This option is fine if your synch takes a "short" period of time. Short being an hour. If you have say 20,000 business partners with 3 years of order history and 300 lines per order... expect several hours.
    2) Create a test synch profile and a live synch profile in tandem and update only the live synch profile with data. Also, have two web tools websites but work primarily in the live one. The synch manager will auto synch both profiles every time the service runs(set by you)
    When it's go time, copy the live db's over the test db's so you have a test environment exactly matching your live environment.  Now, obviously as soon as new data goes into the live db it's out of synch, but this way you have a test system you can break or use to test upgrades, etc.
    As you might guess, there are a number of ways to go with this. It really does depend on a) how comfortable you are with moving data around in SQL and b) what your setup entails.
    I think the best thing you can do is make it as simple as possible. Don't overthink things and make sure you have a backup of everything before you start.
    Good luck!

  • Transfer data from Test to Production Server

    Dear All
    I want to know how to transfer data from test server to production server.
    Lets say we have done all the setup steps of GL, and we have also feeded chart of accounts, journal entries, recurring etc. at our test server. Now we want to shift our data from Test Server to Production Server.
    What can be the procedure?
    I shall be really thankful.

  • How to find the date when object is moved from quality to production server

    Hi Experts,
    I am working with BADI ZMM_PUR_REQ_PROC_001-Method Check and BADI ZME_PROCESS_PO_CUST-Method Check.
    I need to add a check that a particular logic should be implemented only after this object is moved to the production server.
    How can i check the date when an object (in my case this BADI) is moved to the production server?
    <Removed by moderator>
    Thanks in advance.
    Edited by: Vinod Kumar on Aug 1, 2011 10:55 AM

    Hi Sakshi,
    So your reqt is that the documents created after your Transport implementation date should pass the check and others (old ones) should ignore.
    I will recommend, if at all possible, to make all the old documents compatible to your check by doing a separate initial loading /one time activity to avoid this kind of hardcoding.
    IF not at all possible to do so, then I think you should better hardcode your Transport req number and fetch date (AS4DATE) from E070 table and only if any entry exists, use that date as your required date. I believe this will be the date of transport imported in the target system.
    You can avoid hardcoding Transport number by picking latest transport with respect to your object (BADI) using E071 table, but that will go wrong once you send any future changes in this BADI to Prod, so better to hardcode the transport.

  • Migrate from Test to New Server - OBIEE

    Hi,
    I have been 'evaluating' OBIEE functinality on a small test server for some time, where I have done a large amount of work on both writing reports. developing dashboards, configuring user security and the necessary data architecture in the physical / business model and presentations layers in BI Adminstration.
    My question is, what is the easiest way to port the solution as it stands to a different server, without needing to perform extensive rework?
    Thanks for any advice,
    Robert.

    Lowest level: copy the RPD and web catalog over to the other server, adjust the NQSConfig.ini and instanceconfig.xml and off you go.
    That's assuming you didn't change any web messages, add custom pictures or files, change the styles and/or skins, you're still pointing to the same data sources etc. etc.
    You should have a look at one of Marks write-ups from a while back: http://www.rittmanmead.com/2008/04/28/migration-obiee-projects-between-dev-and-prod-environments/

  • Help problem converting programm from test to live

    Hi
    I have been working for about four months on a website. It worked fine on the test machine so the decission was made to transfer it to the test machine. And thats where it went wrong. At first I thought it had something todo with the database connection and that the setting were simply wrong.
    After some testing I found out that the database connection is working fine. There seems to be a syntax error when try to call a stored procedure. This is weird since the procedures worked fine on the test machine. Does anyone have any idea what this problem could be?
    Thx Babette
    This is the error:
    Error uitvoeren query: nulljava.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC][SQLServer]Line 1: Incorrect syntax near '{'.
    Here is a code example for getting a category but I think the same error goes for all stored procedures
    UserBean
    public String getCategoryDescription(int id)
         String test = null;
         try
         CategoryBean category = new CategoryBean(con);
              category.getCategory(id);
         catch(SQLException sql)
              test = test + sql.toString();
         return test;
    Category Class
    * Calls stored procedure for all categories
    * @return All columns for each category category
    * @throws java.sql.SQLException
    public ResultData getCategoryOverview() throws SQLException
         CallableStatement cs = null;
         ResultSet rs = null;
         cs = con.prepareCall( "{ call BD_ADMINISTRATOR.CATEGORY_OVERVIEW }" );
         cs.execute();
         rs = cs.getResultSet();
         ResultData queryCategory = new ResultData();
         queryCategory.processResults(rs);
         rs.close();
         cs.close();
         rs = null;
         cs = null;
         return queryCategory;
    Stored procedure
    CREATE PROCEDURE BD_ADMINISTRATOR.GET_CATEGORY
    @ID INT
    AS
    SELECT * FROM PROJECT_CATEGORY WHERE CATEGORY_NO = @ID
    GO
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    So nou I found out that on the Live machine JDBC service pack 1 is installed. This is not installed on the testmachine could this cause a problem?
    Thx babette

  • Migrating PS from test to production server

    Hi,
    I'm going on a evaluation test for PS. It's installed and configured on a temporary server (the test server) and working fine. The next step is to have this working on the "real" environment, it means in the production server.
    What will happen with the documents I've already applied a policy? Can i use this documents with the new installation? Will the documents be managed with the new server?
    Thanks, regards.

    Given this, I think I would be inclined to set up a virtual server or
    DNS alias for the production server, like
    adobepolicyserver.mycompany.com.
    That way, you can freely move the policy server function around by
    moving the software and changing the alias. If you simply use a name
    assigned to the server for another purpose, you could hit the
    situation where someone else decides that name has to change for
    administrative reasons, or where e.g. there come to be two production
    servers and someone decides Policy Server needs to move to the second
    one to balance the load.

  • Moving from Oracle do SQL Server

    In my SAP instalation we are thinking to move from SAP/Oracle to SAP/SQL Server.
    What do you think about this ?
    The reason for this move is we have more knowledge in SQL Server Than Oracle.

    Especially the point about MaxDB - what makes you come to the conclusion, that it's not suited for "high transaction environments" (whatever you mean with that)?
    I have to say i am the same "old fashion" way.
    Our productive logistic system (ERP2005) is round about 3.5 TB and we have a SLA of the average response time with round about 900ms. I personally would never use MaxDB in this environment.
    Our main instance (ERP 2005) is 1.8 TB and we have an avg. repsonse time (ST03N) of 350 - 480 ms, depending on the load of the system. That database is growing about 2 - 4 GB each working day - and it´s running MaxDB
    I have to say that i have not much experience with MaxDB, but these few times i had to administrate the MaxDB instances - it was very "strange" to me, if you come out of the oracle world.
    I wouldn´t consider it "strange", it´s "install once and forget". If I see how much time I need to set up an Oracle database (install 10.2.0.1, patch 10.2.0.2, apply 40+ single patches where some of the merge patches uninstall already installed patches....) then I´m happy with my MaxDB
    The second part - the support: I have opened some MaxDB messages and also of course some Oracle ones.. and my personally impression is that the oracle support is much better. But this maybe different from customer to customer.
    I have never had any real issues with the MaxDB support - in contrary but as you said, this is all based on customer experience.
    If you have a LiveCache, then you have a MaxDB installation - it´s just a special pecularity but the base is a MaxDB and is handled as such.

  • Crystal Reports Moved from one file server to another - very slow opening

    Hello,
    I am new here, and I am in need of a solution. If I am not in the correct forum, please advise.
    Our crystal reports were moved from an old file server to a new file server.  Once the old file server was shut down the reports opened very slow in Designer and in our 3rd party application.  Our server team determined that the reports are still attempting to connect to the old file server.  If the old file server is brought online or dns is changed to reflect another machine that it can make a connection to, it opens with no delay.
    For some reason, not every report is affected.  Most of the reports are Crystal 8.5, but I have some Crystal XI reports that do the same thing.  I can't find any reference in the reports to any file server/location....
    I need to resolve this issue on the Crystal 8.5 version due to the application that we are running.
    Is there a way to fix this other than to recreate the reports (I have over 400 of them)?
    Any assistance or advice is appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Nancy

    Hi Nancy,
    The server info still needs to be updated. Are you setting location for each subreport also?
    Possibly this registry key will help, I only have CR 2008 installed so you'll have adjust for what ever you are using:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions - VerifyStoredProceduresOnFirstRefresh = No
    and
    VerifyStoredProceduresOnSetLocation = No
    And
    VerifyWhenDBDriverUpgraded = No
    And
    ViewOutOfPlaceSubreports = No
    Close CR designer before making any changes. And the usual warning about modifying the registry.
    Thank you

  • Universe Migration Procedure from TEST Server to PROD server

    Hi,
    We are using SAP BO XI R3 version in our project TEST windows 2003 server.
    we have designed the universe in TEST BO Server and it's working great.
    Now, we would like to move/migrate the universe created in TEST Server to the PROD server.
    please let me know the migration steps [step by step procedure - documents] in getting the universe available in PROD server as well.
    Note: We are using SAP BO XI R2 version in PROD server & XI R3 in TEST Server respectively in separate physical machine .
    Regards,
    Karthik

    Thanks for your support Henry. I agree with your point.
    I have 1 quick question: if we copy the .unv file from TEST BO R3 server and paste the same .unv file to PROD BO R2 server, will it be available for importing in PROD BO R2 Server [to do modification in connection settings (connection to pointing PROD DB)]?
    If yes, we can copy [not export (no use of tool)] manually the .unv file from TEST R3 server and paste it manually in PROD R2 Machine under universes folder and make any modification like changing the connections....etc.,
    Please let me know if this approach works fine with no issues. Because its going to be done in PROD.
    Many Thanks,
    Karthik.

  • Moving SHP2010 from SQL2014 to SQL2012 server

    So I have the following problem - my DBA's upgraded the test SQL machines with SQL2014 including the one where the development and testing Sharepoint 2010 farm is. Normally this might not be a big thing but we have invested heavily in a BI solution using
    both native SQL2012 and Sharepoint SQL Reporting Services. And when upgrading the Sharepoint RS stopped working since the backend SQL was now SQL2014. After upgrading the Sharepoint RS to SQL2014 the native RS stopped working because of conflicting assemblies.
    This, and the fact that the production environment is SQL2012 makes me want to move the Sharepoint 2010 DEV & TEST environment to a new SQL2012 server. Sounds easy right?
    Well no matter what method I try to move the SQL2014 databases to the SQL2012 it always fails. Detach/attach, database backup, generating script, export database, everything fails for one reason or another. Either the database is too big to dump to file
    ("out of memory") or the table structures won't allow me to use the database (getting alot of version columns that are "calculated"), nothing works. ANd yes the DB's are compatbility mode 2012. DPM won't restore it to SQL2012 and I can't
    invest tons of money in a third party solution like DocAve to perform a one time farm backup/restore.
    So my last hope of using "built in" functions for this is to use the backup-spfarm & restore-spfarm. I've read Microsofts articles about them and it clearly states that it shouldn't be used to move CONFIGURATION & CENTRAL ADMIN databases.
    According to blog posts I have to disconnect from the farm, then create a new farm and do a restore-spfarm?
    Does anyone have experience in doing this? Can I restore and overwrite everything, including configuration, afterwards? The farm is configured very specifically with BI in mind with services running with specific accounts with SPNs and everything so would
    really not want to redo everything! Or does anyone have any other way of moving a SQL2012 database from a SQL 2014 server to a SQL2012 server that I haven't thought of?
    Regards // Kristoffer

    Thats true until 10g. They added a convert into the RMAN utility so that you can move the tablespaces over. See

  • Moving From Windows Server to OS X Server

    Hello,
    I am taking over the control of our on site server for various reasons, mostly prior poor server management. The company that built and managed our Windows server used cheap parts and we have frequent hardware failures.
    We are currently looking into moving to a Mac Mini Server. We are a small company with less than 15 employees. Our server hosts our mail, files, and soon it will host a custom built File Maker database.
    I think I understand how to set up most everything, my question is how to move our mail from Microsoft Exchange 2010 to the OS X Server without losing any previous emails. We do not use Exchange for address book or any other higher functions, just e-mail. Two employees have custom folders that they would like to keep, the rest just use the standard inbox.
    Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Use an IMAP moving utility.
    IMAP moving utilities are pretty simple.  They log into two IMAP servers at the same time, and simply block move the messages / folder structure over from one to the other.
    The one I have used several times in the past, and can reassure you works very well, is a thing called MoveIMAPMail and is migration utility included as part of the installation of a (pretty good) mail system called Communigate.  Communigate has a 'community' license mode, which gives you a license to use it for free for up to five users.  So you can download and install the software without problem (from here http://www.communigate.com/main/purchase/).
    Installing Communigate (temporarily) messes with any installed mail server software on your machine - which should not be an issue on most client machines, but would have implications for your server.  But MoveIMAPMail does not need to run on either the source or destination machine (you can put it on any old machine that can connect to both old and new IMAP servers), so easiest is to install Communigate on some other machine.  Communigate is available for a disturbing large number of platforms, so shouldn't be a problem.
    Once installed, simply follow the clear instructions for migrating given on the MoveIMAPMail page of the Communigate help system.  The utility doesn't care what server software the source or destination servers are running.
    N.B. The source server is not affected by the operation of MoveIMAPMail, so you can have serveral goes at the migration if you like, without affecting existing user files etc.
    When you have done, all the user accounts and associated mail stacks will have been moved to the new server.  Uninstall Communigate and you are in the clear.
    If you don't want to use the Communigate utility, there is a sourceforge project claiming to do the same thing, but I've not tried it.  But easy enough to test it out I would imagine.  Plus if you google, you'll see at least one other PHP based script solution out there.

    I have an iPad 2 and receive e-mail through regular internet connection. Lately, when I delete e-mails, and clear my Trash folder, they re-appear, downloaded anew from the server and marked as unread. My e-mail Advanced Settings are selected for "Remove from server when moved from Inbox." Even when I access the e-mail accountfrom my desktop and delete the e-mails, the re-appear on my iPad. Sounds like you are looking in the wrong Administrative Group container which is why you are seeing your Exchange 2010 servers in there.
    When you install Exchange 2003 only you will see a container named by default as "CN=First Administrative Group" container. But this could be named anything if you changed the Organization Name on the installation when you installed the first
    Exchange 2003 server into the domain/forest.
    You will notice that when you install Exchange 2010 part of the AD setup is to create a new configuration container and is named by default "CN=First Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)".
    So it sounds like you are not looking in the right location within ADSIEdit.
    You may find the following article also helpful for this issue which is the same resolution:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2012/05/17/empty-cn-servers-container-causing-issues-with-public-folders-on-small-business-server-2011.aspx
    I recommend though that you ensure your Exchange 2003 servers are fully uninstalled or no longer present in your environment before you go deleting the Servers container though.. The following Microsoft article will help with this:
