Moving purchased video to IPOD

When I try to move an office episode to my ipod that I recently purchased it will not let me. I've tried moving it from the library and purchased folders but I get the same message. This is my first time buying a video and trying to move to my ipod. And yes, I have an ipod that allows video

Are you sure it's on auto sync not manual?

  • Putting non-purchased videos on ipod

I have a Mac, and i have videos already on my computer before i bought my ipod. Can i put videos which haven't been purchased from itunes onto my ipod??
    Cheers

hey, i dont have a mac, i have windows. would iSquint still work on my computer? if it does, could you email it to me also, that would help a lot. i used quicktime pro, and when it goes to my ipod, video doesn't show up, only the sound. so it would be real helpful if you could give me iSquint. If anybody else has a program they could send to me that would work on Windows that would be great. my e mail is [email protected]

  • Purchased Video but Ipod not Syncing with it?

I purchased a music video and had no problem syncing it when I first purchased it. I have since bought a new laptop and when I try syncing my 60G Video iPod, it imports all of my previous videos with the exception of this one. I can see it in my iTunes list and view it there but can't get it on to the iPod.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Jeff

Weel, I finally discovered what the problem was. It seems to have occurred a mistake while syncing two computers with .mac. Apparently, instead of reinitializing all informations from one of them, they were simply erased and, while on one of the computers my calendars did appear (the one I was syncing the iPod, too), they were a sort of 'ghost' images. So I had to reinitialize again, and then tried to sync the iPod. Now the calendars are displayed correctly on both, and the sync preferences on iTunes are correct, too. Hope this can help somebody.

  • Moving purchased music from ipod

I purchased some music from the iTunes store but didn't back it up.
It's still on my iPod, but now not on my computer.
How can I get it from my iPod back on to my iTunes? (iPod is set to automatic update)
    Any help greatly appreciated

Well you hold shift and ctrl, WHILE HOLDING THEM connect the ipod and let go only after itunes opens and list the ipod. THis stops an auto update.
Now in iTUnes, goto edit>preferences>ipod and set the ipod to "Manual update" to get it ready for third party software.
Now close iTunes and use yamipod http://www.yamipod.com or Podutil http://www.kennettnet.co.uk/software/podutil.php to copy them back
Yamipod is totally free and will copy the songs. Podutil is shareware/trailware and you can use there program for free to copy the songs along with all the playcounts, playlist if your library is blank or something

  • Moving videos from iPod

Hi everyone. I know that moving files from the iPod is a common topic on here. I have CopyPod that works fine for audio, but I'm trying to move some video files, and they're not showing up. I have to move them off because the computer they are on is no longer available to me, and I have a legal right to these files. Does anyone know of a program that will work for moving video files?
    Thanks!

There are two ways I know of:
    1. Load iTunes on the new / replacement computer and log into your iTunes account (actually click on your AppleID and use your password to confirm it is you). Then sync and iTunes "SHOULD" prompt you telling you there are "Purchases" on the iPod that aren't in your Library (that is if you bought them from the iTunes Store). Then it will ask you if you want to copy them into your Library.
    OR
    2. You can search for one of the many FREE programs available that allow you to fairly easily copy to and from your iPod without the use of iTunes.
Either one has risks involved, but you should be able to choose the best option for your own circumstances.

  • Ipod will not accept purchased videos, but i have ipod 1.1.2 and itunes 7.0

    Hi
I formatted my Ipod on windows several months ago. A week later, I bought a mac and have been using my ipod on mac ever since. Yesterday, I bought a video from the itunes store, and in order to play it, I tunes told me that i needed to update my I tunes from 6.0 to 7.0. So I did that...NOW, when I tried to copy the video to my ipod, I still could not copy to ipod.., I got a dialogue box telling me that my ipod software was too old and I needed to update it. my ipod software from 1.1 to 1.1.2. Luckily i had access to a windows computer. In the windows computer under ipod preferences, the ipod software read UP to Date after installing the 1.1.2 software. So now i bring back my ipod to my good old mac, and under Summary, ipod, my ipod version reads 1.1.2. and under Version, the update box is greyed out, and on the left side it reads ONLY MACINTOSH FORMATTED IPODS CAN BE UPDATED..
So i try to copy my purchased video from itunes music store, and I STILL GET A MESSAGE SAYING that "the item in the itunes music library was not copied to the ipod becaus you ipod softwar is too old!!!! go to the summary tab in ipod preferences and clikck update to get the latest ipod software update.
WHY>!??? I have the most updated version, and besides , i dont get an option to update software on my mac,,,,,but why would i need to in either case, if i have the latest software. Please help. I have spent my entire saturday troubleshooting this with no luck. I appreciate it. please.

When I updated to 1.1.2 my ipod software said it was up to date. I guess I did not see an option to update from ITunes 7.0., and no where on the apple site did i see a 1.2 version. (I guess thats what you meant when you say that they have done away with the ipod updater)
Does it make a difference that I update using a Windows computer using itunes 7.0 and then play my video on my mac. (I would guess that as long as the ipod software is 1.2 i'd be ok right?) This is where I am confused because right after updating to 1.1.2, i took my ipod and connected it to my mac and under ipod preferences, it did read 1.1.2
I am trying to avoid reformatting my ipod to mac since I have over 6,000 music tunes and videos which took me months to load.
thanks in advance for more help.

  • IPod Video = no longer recognizes/updates purchased videos

I purchased a video from iTunes a while back and have since enjoyed it no my iPod. However, when I plugged my iPod in to update it last night, ALL of my videos/movies no longer appeared on my iPod. Sooooo, I updated it again this morning, and now it won't update a couple purchased videos. What gives?
I had to reset AND restore my iPod to even try to bring it all back. But still - no luck. SOME videos show up - but not a few others. Why is this?
    What do I do now?

I forgot to specify that it is the Belkin TalkTunes STEREO device which is no longer recognized.

  • 5th Gen iPod Unable To Play Purchased Videos & Music

    Hi!
Sometimes it's a mistake to update the iPod just before a trip! So I found out as my 5th Gen iPod would not play any of the purchased videos or music I had on it. All of the other music on the iPod played fine and so, too, did my own iMovie videos, so I knew that nothing was really that wrong with the iPod. It just wouldn't play the purchased stuff. Yeah... that's right, the music and videos that came with DRM protection wouldn't play! If it's on my iPod, wouldn't it have been legally downloaded in the first place? Here is the set up: I changed the setting on my computer to allow it to sleep. I then had some problems so I changed it back to never sleeping. One problem was with iTunes. My iTunes would not play my purchased stuff because somehow, my computer "forgot" that it was "authorized" and gave me a message stating that I had to re-authorize the computer. I did so even though I knew that it was already authorized. But.. according to the message I got after that, I now had 1 computer authorized of my allowed five. Weird... but "okay"... I thought... "everything is working, again." But around then, I had updated my iPod and then went out of town for six days, only to find that the purchased videos and music would not play. Oh... like my iPod was not "authorized!" Okay.. This is infuriating as really this DRM restriction software ends up impacting negatively the honest people far more than any fans of the old Napster. This is a fact Apple well understands and the music industry seems oblivious of. So... despite the fact that I have legally downloaded and paid for every piece of music and video I have on the computer and iPod, I am treated like the scum of the earth by having my purchases not work on my iPod because my computer forgets it is authorized! But you know, I am a bright thing and solved my own problem. I thought resetting the iPod would solve the problem but it did not. I re-synced the iPod when I got home, after making sure the computer was still authorized, but this too failed to solve the problem. What did solve the problem was deleteing one of the TV shows and then re-dragging it on to the iPod (I have it manually managed) and syncing the iPod, again. Suddenly all of the purchased videos and music work again. We are back to happy times with the iPod again. But I must ask, who are you really hurting with this silly DRM thing, anyway?

There has got to be a better solution to this problem, which I have as well, than the ones suggested above (no offense). So I'm bumping the post and praying someone can help me out. I'm using iMovie 4.0.1 and iTunes 6.0.1.
Unforunately for all of us, there is not.
    Sue
    BTW-no offense taken.

  • I am having trouble moving a video from iTunes on my PC to my iPod (4th gen).

I am having trouble moving a video from iTunes on my PC to my iPod (4th gen). Is it a problem that it is in the "Home Videos" section? I go into the "Home Videos" sections and drag the video that I want so that the bar comes up, move it over to the device and let go. All that happens is it flashes a few times and then nothing. No error or anything.

  • Error (-69) attempting to download purchased video content to 160GB Ipod

I am attempting to download purchased video content from Itunes to my Ipod. Till recently there has been no problems. I believe this problem is actually stemming from the downloading of content to my computer resulting in faulty files that cannot be downloaded to my ipod. I am using a Dell XPS desktop computer running Windows XP Media Edition. All software relating to Itunes or my Ipod is up to date as of the writing of this post. My Itunes library, music and video files are downloaded to an external Hard drive rather than to my desktop because of the massive amount of data. As of about two months ago I noticed that many of my songs (about 1 out of every ten and many of which had been fine for months prior) was in some way corrupted. However my Ipod still has many of these same songs that work fine. Sooooooo. First- How do I replace individual songs or at the very least download all music and selectively delete duplicates. And Second- figure out what is causing BRAND NEW video files to download messed up. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

    See this trouble shooting article.

  • Ipod do not play purchased videos

I can not play the videos that I purchased in the ipod store. However, I can play converted videos. What is wrong??

Answering my own question here, it was pretty easy.
I just took the videos off my iPod with EphPod and reloaded them back to my iPod. All the settings were reset and the purchased videos turned back to videos

  • IPod will not play purchased videos...

My iPod only plays audio on videos that I have purchased on iTunes. Music Videos that I have made myself work fine and show up in the video section of the iPod. iTunes plays all videos fine, but the options for the videos I have purchased are the same as the audio options (they show no video icon on the main screen and I cannot set a video type). iTunes and iPod are updated and I have checked the "TV out" thing.
I don't know if this is relevant, but I recently had to restore my computer and the originals were wiped away, leaving only the copy on the iPod.
I appreciate any help ya'll can give me!
