MP3 musik files from Element 5.0 disk to Elements 10 files

After years of using Elements 5.0 recently I bought Element 10.0
Eleent 5.0 deleted and Elements 10 installed.
But now I am missing the MP3 musik files from Elements 5.0 when preparing a slide show
How can I select these files on the Elements 5 disc and ad these fies to my Elements 10 files.

The pre-installed music tracks are located in the following folder:
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\10.0\Music
N.B. ProgramData may be a hidden system folder.

.wpl appears to be a Windows Media Player playlist. I can find no conversion software for that, and Windows Media Player is not available for Mac anymore.
If you can persuade him to download iTunes and create the playlist as mp3 in a iTunes playlist, or even just burn the base mp3 files to CD as a data disc, that's about the only solutions I can suggest.

You can of course use one of a number of MP3 converters to change the track quality e.g. Creative's MediaSource converter. Be aware that dropping the bit-rate isn't the best approach, it's better to encode from the original CD.
And as others have said, I would strongly recommend staying at 28kbit/s for MP3 (using LAME) or at least listen to a test track or two before encoding the lot.

Thanks for that Damead, I agree with you that Organiser is real pain (there is a total lack of intuitiveness if that is the correct word).
For my own work I use 'Lightroom' for around 90% of the time, only going into PSE10 for the 10% difficult bits the Lightroom can't handle.
I only needed to sort out the JPEG file opening method within PSE10 for some freinds in a small Photo Group that I run in Woodhall Spa, UK. 50% of the 12 members are beginners & a number of them do not have Raw capability on their Camera's, but now they can get their JPEG's into Camera Raw within PSE10 they have the same simple tabular form of adjustment sliders (not as many as in Lightroom of cause) but it gets over the labourious problem of going thru the PSE10's individual tool selection process each and every time since we are trying to get everyone in the Group working with individual Tools rather than the 'Auto' functions. We do this so that they learn what they are doing rather than staying 'dumb&happy' within Auto all the time & they also learn how to get more detailed control for each photo.
Ref. your comments on file handling/usage, I agree with your comments. Its far and away much more preferable to set up a file structure in 'Finder" (or in 'Explorer' if still using Windows) that you understand so you always know how to find the files. Also, I also never ever use the Camera Auto Load programme but physically 'drag & drop' photo files direct from the 'card' into the file system so I always know thier place (ie: they go into the location I want, not that which the Auto Loader wants).
As regards your comment about 'Lightroom', I don't have any problems at all since I just imported the whole of my photo file structure into the Lightroom Library Catalouge and then it automatically shows up on the LHS of the screen, still in that format, so you can search it direct within Lightroom and display all of the photo's in variuos arrangements and sizes; everything is as easy to find as it is in 'Finder' plus of cause you have all the 'Tagging' possibilities to use as well. As you add more new files into the 'Finder' structure, all you need to do in Lightroom is reimport, starting 1 level up from the new files and Lightroom will find the new files that need loading (ignoring the older ones already in the Library at that or lower levels) then 1 click and its done.
Your comments about getting others to follow a set file structure is very pertinant and also applies to evrything else that one ever does apart from just photo work; the times I have had to help others find info/files etc on their PC's because they don' know the location of anything is too many to contemplate.

I will never know if the problem was one of transfer or format compatibility. The movie would not copy from one external hard diask to another, both attached to my MAC. But when the movie (which was in mpg by the way) was downloaded directly (without any other intermediary) into my external disk from the computer (a PC) where the movie was originated, the file did copy. And when I attached that external hard disk to my MAC, i could see it using the MPEC streamclip app.

Before we proceed - I have been corresponding with 'Little Pale Face' (Brian) and as far as I know he is still working on the problem.
I use Windows Live Mail and my service provider is Cogeco.ca
I have looked at all the settings in Preferences, and cannot see anything unusual.
I still have Elements 11 on my computer (will probably delete when 13 is running satisfactorily.
I did a test in Elements 11 - I can share pictures directly from my Organizer screen. I can choose a number of photos, go to SHARE, and it takes me through the appropriate steps, and then opens my email showing the pictures as attachments.
When I go through the same procedure for Elements 13, the program indicates that the files are being prepared, and then states that they were successfully shared. The image files are received as 'text' not as 'image' files.
2. The other problem is creating a slide show. Again this works in Elements 11, and does not work in Elements 13. The steps are quite simple, so I don't think I am missing anything.
I will not be available Thursday morning, but will be here Thursday afternoon.

When you say Elements 9 do you mean Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements or the Elements Organizer?
Technically there is no program called simply Elements.

If you are using a "basic" Mac OS X v10.8.4 install/codec configuration then you can use iTunes to convert to MP3 audio. It has a built in MP3 encoder which you can set up as your default audio import/conversion compression format. Otherwise it depends on how you system's codec components are configured and/or what media applications you have installed.

Not all my Jpeg files from elements moved to Revel, why?

I went in to check what files from elements were downloaded in the new Revel system and a significant number of my Jpeg pictures did not move over. Is there a reason? OMG I hope figuring out which ones weren't moved will be easy like "download whole elements library" or something to that effect.
I got an email that said my download was complete but on some page somewhere in the MANY places I have been to sort this out the "all files have been downloaded" was not yet highlighted so does that mean that things are not done yet?
OMG I am so frustrated. I am ready to store my pictures on Amazon Cloud. Seems like a more friendly system. I am not a tech savy person. I know enough to be frustrated.

Your album structure will be moved to Revel along with your JPEGs. There is not a concept of albums within albums in Revel, so the file structure will be flattened.
Will my web galleries be moved to Revel?
Your web galleries will become albums in Revel. Current album links will continue to work.
Will my group albums be moved to Revel?
Group albums will not be moved, but the JPEG photos in the albums will be moved to Revel.

"Import from Elements" option not available on File menu...

I'm trying to import my PSE 4.0 catalog into Lightroom 2.2, but the "Import from Elements" option does not appear on the file menu. I suspect this is due to the fact that PSE is not installed on the machine.
My circumstance is that I'm moving to a new computer that runs Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Since PSE 4.0 is not compatible with Vista, I cannot install in on the new machine, and have used an external drive to move the catalog and its contents to the new computer.
I would appreciate any help you can offer.

PSE 4 is one of the Vista application compatibility patches included in the above update. I don't know how well it works and am not absolutely sure it works with 64 bit.

Can't transfer 5GB file from PC 2 iPod -disk full error but 12GB available?

iPod has 6+ GB w/ almost 13GB available space.
Every time i initiate the file transfer to iPOD from PC, PC says disk is full, please retry. Yet when I check properties of iPod on PC, it shows the same quantity of available space above.
I've reformatted ipod to windows. Since I have a mac @ home, it was originally apple format out of box.
Could there be a file size limitation? I seem to be able to write smaller sized files (e.g. 600 MB) w/ no problem.
PC at office is Windows XP Profession Version 2002 SP1, Internet Explorer 6.

If you use your iPod as a hard disk with a Windows PC, the FAT32 file system can only accommodate files that are smaller than 4 gigabytes. No matter how much free space there is on your iPod, you can't copy files that are larger than that.

Is it possible to save an mp3 audio file found on a webpage -- http://..... .mp3 -- to my computer? It's the typical scenario of a black page with just a playback bar, plus a 'go back 30 seconds' button, pause/play button, time counter and volume button. Is it possible for this described situation?
I believe I've also seen pages with similar playback back but also has a dropdown arrow on the right, but I don't remember what was in it.

Well you can move them to an external drive but this will delete them from the internal drive. Which is what you have to do to free up disk space.

Your startup volume is full. First, reboot. That will temporarily free up some space. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB free for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data.
Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To really see everything, you have to run it as root.
First, back up all data if you haven't already done so. No matter what happens, you should be able to restore your system to the state it was in at the time of that backup.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
After installing ODS in the Applications folder, drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. When you're done with it, quit it and also quit Terminal.
