Mp3 restarting after a few seconds

I have a site with a LOT of short mp3 music clips to play.
Currently what I built is working perfectly on my desktop,
but when I play it online, it glitches.
I assume there is a problem with the streaming somehow,
but I don't know where to start to fix it.
The glitches are:
(1) a song starts to play, then a couple seconds in, it skips
and starts over then plays all the way through.
(2) sometimes if you click on a second song, when the second
song skips (see glitch #1), the first song starts playing too so
then they're both playing at the same time.
It's in AS2, btw.
The way it's currently built is I create a sound object
and use loadSound to load each external mp3 into that object.
There is a button for every song with a toggle switch inside
the button.
The script to play the song is on every button.
(3) I do create the same sound object ("music") on every
button.
Would it be better to create the sound object once on frame1
of the whole site
and have every song that loads from external .swfs reference
that existing sound object?
Does it matter?
I am quite prepared to completely rebuild it if anyone has a
better structure for how to do this.
You also may notice:
(4) I also have a problem with the toggle button (glitchy,
but fixing the music is more important).
When you click on the second song, I can't figure out how to
get the toggle on the first song
to revert to it's usual "play" state.
Thank you.

FIXED!
I put the code that creates the sound object on the first
frame of the whole site.
var music:Sound = new Sound();
music.onLoad = function() {
Then, on each place within the site where I have a button to
start the mp3, I
use loadSound into that "music" object created at the
beginning.
No more skipping.
No more double playing.

Ipod touch 4th gen needed a new screen and sleep/wake switch.  So, I replace them.  I was able to get to settings and do "erase all content and settings".  I am not able to totally shut this device off as it keeps restarting after a few seconds.  I have used itunes to restore and also recover.  Device will actually shut off and stay shut off if I leave it connected to the computer.  The moment I unplug (3 seconds) the apple logo appears, it boots, unlock screen appears, I can unlock and operate normally, unplugged or not.  Just cant get it to completely shut down unplugged.  Any thoughts?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
      - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem. Maybe you installed a bad component or damaged something during the repair/replacement.
Apple will not help since you worked on the iPod yourself.

  • [MBA 2013]sound crashes and restart after a few seconds

    Hi guys,
I bought a Macbook Air in June 2013 and 2-3 months ago, I started having problems with the sound.
Basically, there is always one of those things running : iTunes, VLC or youtube/soundcloud so I always use the sound.
After some time, the sound is strange like it is dying. After a few seconds, it stops working and then I have to wait around 5-10 seconds for it to be automatically restarted. I don't have headphone or anything plugged in and no external sound card.
All my drivers are up to date and I have the last Mac OS X version (10.9.4 I think).
Does anybody know what I should do ? Format it ? Uninstall all the software like Boom, Accubeatmix (maybe they cause the problem but I've used them since I have the MBA).
I am used to using linux commands in a terminal if there is some dirty things to fix that so feel free to share those.
    Thanks.

I uninstalled Boom and it seems to work now. Strange that it worked without any problem for a long time.
I'll install it again and see what happens.
    Thanks.

  • My iphone 4s turns off and restarts after a few seconds or minutes to establish a FaceTime call. I've tried "Restore iPhone" but the same thing keeps happening. Any solution?

My iphone 4s turns off and restarts itself a few seconds or minutes after when I establish a FaceTime call. I've tried "Restore iPhone" from iTunes but the same thing keeps happening. Any solution?

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Also, if this only happens with one Wi-Fi network, power cycle that Wi-Fi router.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order.

  • I accidently pulled the cable out when syncing. Now my ipod automatically restarts after a few seconds. What do I do?

    Please help
I accidently pulled the cable out when syncing. Now my ipod automatically restarts. What do i do?

OK, in that case a restore should fix things:
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release only the Sleep/Wake button.
Continue pressing and holding the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Note: If you see the "low battery" screen, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears (iTunes icon and USB connector) release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the "recovery mode" alert ("iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode").
Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.

After installing ios 5.1 on my iphone 4s, some apps are being closed automatically after a few seconds. I've tried a restart and a total reset. nothing seems to work. Any solutions?

The problem Apps may need to be updated. Or maybe your iTunes account needs to just update itself on your iPhone. To do this, install a free App from the App Store on your iPhone. Tap App Store app on iPhone, select and install a free App. When that is done try the problem Apps to see if they work OK again.

  • Video freezes after a few seconds

This is actually a continuation of a post I made almost a year and a half ago, trying to get video chat going so my mom can visit with her grandkids. The thread has been archived, so I can't post there but in case it helps here's the address:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1658017&tstart=0
We are both running Tiger 10.4.11 and iChat AV 3.1.9 (v446), although she's on a 1.25 GHz G4 with 1.5 GB of RAM, and I'm on a 1.8 GHz iMac G5 with 1 GB of RAM. We both have the exact same videocamera, Canon Elura 70, attached via Firewire. Both computers recognize the cameras fine, no problems there.
Anyway, my sister and I have tried 1,000 different things but nothing works. I can always see her but not hear her, and the connection is dropped after a few seconds, saying there's insufficient bandwidth to maintain the conference. She can't see me at all, but she can hear me. The chat usually ends with error -20 and sometimes -22. For instance, here's the log from our try today:
*2010-01-29 11:49:30 -0600: No data has been received for the last 10 seconds.*
*Audio channel info: local machine using 10.0.1.3:16386, expecting remote machine to send to 97.83.147.78:56754*
*Video channel info: local machine using 10.0.1.3:16384, expecting remote machine to send to 97.83.147.78:56752*
    *Chat ended with error -20*
    *Chat ended with error -20*
    *Chat ended with error -22*
    *Chat ended with error -22*
The thing is, we can video conference successfully (video and audio) with each other from separate rooms if we're both at her house, as well as from separate rooms when we're both at mine. However, when we're each at our own home, it won't work. She's got a download speed of 8.5, and mine is 8.3. Her upload speed is 1.01 and mine is 1.74.
I am connected through a router - SMC Barricade (SMC7004VBR), and a WebStar modem. We've both taken the tape out of our camera, set our bandwidth limit in iChat to none. System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming is at 1.5Mbps. I've learned how to access my router settings but I don't see a DoS or SPI setting. It shows firewall features are disabled.
We've also tried to connect with Skype instead, and I was able to see my sister without it freezing. But she couldn't see me, so it still didn't fully work.
I'm totally at a loss. Any ideas?
Edit: Forgot to say her modem is an Ambit U10C018.

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed response. I'm actually feeling a little bit of hope that we might get this figured out eventually!
    iChat 3.x at both ends.
Can Login and show Buddy Lists
    Can Send Visible Invites.
Can Start Video Chat but something says the Bandwidth is then not good enough.
    Error Message.
All true, except she has never been able to see me unless we're both in the same my house.
The Intranet /LAN setting in Tiger for iChat 3 also returns Odd figures to
iChat so we have long said set it to 1.5Mbps which your last post says it is.
I take it you must have restarted iChat f not the Mac(s) since you changed
this setting ? (Just covering all bases)
    Right.
Have you changed the range the SMC uses to miss the range the modem is using ?
The only change I've made to anything recently is in iChat prefs: Under Accounts - Server settings, I changed the top port to 443 because regular iChat kept disconnecting at odd times and I read somewhere that it might help. But we had this AV problem long before that, and after.
I see the SMC cannot Forward enough ports for iChat but Can do UPnP
    (Universal Plug and Play)
Is it set to do UPnP ?
I don't see anything that says UPnP. It says:
    GATEWAY
    IP Address: 192.168.2.1
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    DHCP Server: Enabled
    Firewall: Disabled
On the Port Forward site there are two WebSTARs listed under
    Scientic Atlanta
DO you have either of these ?
    No, it is a DPC2100.
I could also do with seeing an old log of an Error 20 log.
They are stored in You Home Folder/Library/Logs/iChatConnectionErrors
Can you post the bits down and only down to the line that starts "Binary Images for iChat"
Pasted at bottom of this post.
Can you tell me if there is a Wifi and Ethernet connection to the Router ? (at > the same time )
My husband's PC is connected to the router via Ethernet. The only other things connected to it are the modem and my Airport Express so I can get online with my Macs. (I used to have the iMac connected by Ethernet before I realized I had an Airport card. Duh.)
Thanks so much for your patience and help!

  • Every time I open iPhoto (as of today) after a few seconds the coloured wheel appears and the program become unresponsive. I have tried closing my computer. I assume I have a corrupt file but at the moment I cannot access anything in the program?

Every time I try to open Iphoto '11 (as of today) the coloured wheel appears after a few seconds and the program becomes unresponsive. I assume I have a corrupt file but I cant do anything including accessing help. I have tried closing down and restarting but it dosnt help. Any ideas please?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

'''Try the Firefox SafeMode''' to see how it works there. <br />
When in Safe Mode... <br />
    * The status of plug-ins is not affected.
    * Custom preferences are not affected.
    * All extensions are disabled.
    * The default theme is used, without a persona.
    * userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored.
    * The default toolbar layout is used.
    * The JIT Javascript compiler is disabled.
    * Hardware acceleration is disabled.

  • Firefox installation made my power saver function misfire - the system goes down after a few minutes of inactivity but then comes right back on again after a few seconds.

My power management scheme: turn off monitor after 2 min of inactivity; turn off hard discs after 5 min of inactivity. doesn't work reliably anymore. Usually, with Firefox installed, the system powers down after the preset times but then comes right back on again after a few seconds. If I restart the machine, my selected power management scheme works properly for a few cycles but then reverts to the mode of turning back on after a few seconds after having shut down.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]<br />
    <br />
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
Your above posted system details show outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks.

After applying update my apple tv2 will randomly go to a black screen that lasts for a few seconds. When it gets back to normal after a few seconds it acts like the video never stopped since its farther along in the timeline. This happens with all video content wether its from Netflix or streaming from my iTunes library

You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for a 30 seconds. If that doesn't help try using another HDMI cable.

everytime that i try to go into an app,I always get kicked out after a few seconds of being in an app.

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
