MPLS and bridging over FR

Has anyone seen this message:
The bridge-group command is unsupported on the interface:Serial2/0:0.24
when the MPLS feature has been enabled on
the main interface or one of its subinterfaces:Serial2/0:0.2
It used to work in 12.2, but after upgrade to 12.3.5b it's not.
I didn't find anything in the documentation about this problem.
Any help is appreciated.

The combination of these two features is unsupported and has caused problems in the past. A check has been implemented by CSCdz75507, which will prevent the configuration of "bridge-group" if MPLS is configured or vice versa.
Hope this helps,

  • MPLS and Bridging over separate ATM PVCs

We have one physical ATM Interface on Cisco 3660 Router (IOS Enterprise 12.2.19) and we like to use bridging on one ATM PVC und MPLS (tag-switching) on another ATM PVC. But we always get an error message.
Did anybody knew whether bridging and mpls is supported at one ATM Interface although we use separate PVCs ?
    Thanks for your help

The configuration of using mixed mpls/bridged sub-interfaces under the same main interface isn't supported.

  • Extending Wireless Network and Bridging Over Ethernet

Have a TimeCapsule and Airport Basestation at home. Both are currently connected over wireless using the "Extend Wireless Network" feature.
On each of the devices have several laptops, mac minis etc. connected over Ethernet (since wireless insufficient for our high speed data transfers etc.)... Trouble we are having is the speed/connection between both the TC and the AP, so considering to connect them both over Ethernet to improve.
Question is once they are connected over Ethernet, what happens to the "Extend Wireless Network", how does the TC and AP know to either use the wireless or the Ethernet to connect with each other? Does one take precedence over the other?
We want to keep them both on Ethernet and Wireless bridge ideally, so that at opposite ends the wireless network is extended for our iPhones and iPads and all devices connected on Ethernet benefit the speed boost over Ethernet, but just not sure how it will behave, and not sure how to test this scenario....
    So asking here instead
    Thanks!

It sounds like you might want to configure your base stations into a "roaming network".

  • Illustrator and Bridge CS6 don't launch in Mac 10.8.5

Recently, when I try to run Illustrator and Bridge CS6, my mac doesn't let me do while initializing (it shows a splash) and gives me "Adobe Illustrator CS6 quit unexpectedly". I can run Acrobat, InDesign, and Photoshop (package of CS6 design standard). It was working about a month ago.
I already tried to uninstall/reinstall Illustrator, delete preferences and font caches, changing version among 16.0.0-16.0.4, and downgrade Java SE from 1.7.? to 1.6.0_65. I haven't installed any plug-ins yet. Also, I haven't upgraded to Marvericks.
Here is Console messages and actual error log.
    Can anyone help me?

You have done a great job supplying what we need to know, so think we can help you.
run applications/utilities/disk utility/repair preferences on your drive with mac os
    delete users/(USERNAME)/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.mediabrowser.plist - especially if over 1mb
move to desktop  users/(USERNAME)/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS6 Settings
    create a new user account
You can try all 4 at once, or one at a time (up to you, sounds like you know what you are doing), that is the order I recomend to least disrupt your current install

  • [SOLVED] NAT gateway and bridge

Hello. I'm having hard time trying to setup a  small nat gateway. The whole point of me doing this is to learn more.
Here is brief idea of what I'm trying to achieve. I have done it in the past with netcfg and it worked well but then I left my project to do other things. Now I'm back and after fresh install I can't start bridge interface with netctl.
    DSL_router|<--------->|ARCH | |+------->Gentoo/windows
    gateway 192.168.0.1| |gateway 192.168.1.1| br0 |
    |+dual_port_nic |<----+
    |
    +-------->5port switch(RsPI/printer/tv/ps3)
So my Arch is connected to DSL router with static address on
enp4s0. I have a dual port NIC (like this) that I want to bridge but for some reason I'm unable to.
I configured my iptables according to Simple Stateful Firewall section of NAT gateway so it looks like this:
    # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.19.1 on Fri Aug 2 00:59:59 2013

I know its basic one but its all I need atm until I will get over that problem.
    My dnsmasq.conf:
    # Configuration file for dnsmasq.
    # Format is one option per line, legal options are the same
    # as the long options legal on the command line. See
    # "/usr/sbin/dnsmasq --help" or "man 8 dnsmasq" for details.

    # The following two options make you a better netizen, since they
    # tell dnsmasq to filter out queries which the public DNS cannot
    # answer, and which load the servers (especially the root servers)

    # these requests from bringing up the link unnecessarily.

    # Never forward addresses in the non-routed address spaces.

  • Problems with running Photoshop CS6 and Bridge with Lightroom 4 also on the same PC

I was running Photoshop and Bridge, then purchased Lightroom 4. Before installingt 4 I had no problems with Bridge, but since installing 4 all of the photo's that were held in bridge are now gone, but they are in Lightroom. With Lightroom, you are able to edit photos out of Lightroom and into Photoshop when necessary, save and close and it automatically changed the Lightroom picture.
I have two PC's, one has Bridge on it (this one) and the other without, but both have both editing prgrams installed. On the other PC I can switch between Lightroom and Photoshop with no problems, but when I try to switch with this PC, the one with Bridge installed, it will open Photoshop, but the photo will not transfer. If I close Photoshop program and go back to Lightroom, it will tell me that the picture could not be transfered to Photoshop because it would not launch. If I close that message window, it will then launch Photoshop and the picture transferes over allowing me to edit and save as normal.
My question is; does anyone know if Lightroom and Bridge should run side by side, or should I delete Bridge from this PC and see what happens. Bridge is just a holder and organizer of photos, wherease Lightroom does the same, but also has post editing capabilities. The two programs seem redundant, but if your running Photoshop, it's hard to get files out of Lightroom. It seems that you need to open Lightroom first, then you can view and chose a photo to work on, then move it back and forth between the two programs. This seems to make Bridge redundant.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Hi, Yes, but that actually wasn't the problem. I start out in Lightroom,
then move to Photoshop if I have something that can't be fixed in
Lightroom. The problem was that when I tried to edit, out of Lightroom and
into Photoshop, I was getting an error message that Lightroom couldn't
prepare files for transfer because Photoshop wouldn't open. But, it had
opened, the picture just wouldn't transfer. If I closed Photoshop,
Lightroom would try again and it would open and transfer the second time. I
ended up going to the Adobe help, chat line, and they looked into my PC and
located the problem, it's now working fine. Thanks to everyone for your
    inputs. Most appreciated.

  • I am running a TRIAL VERSION of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended and Bridge does not open.  Help?

I am running a TRIAL VERSION of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended on MAC and Bridge does not open.  It did open when I first downloaded it - but now a black question mark is over the BR icon and it does not open up.  Any ideas from anyone?

    Hi Steve -
I just thought it was interesting and helpful to me to learn that the icon for Bridge does not appear anywhere.  Not in Application Folder.  Not in the Finders Directory Files.  I see your point - if I could locate that icon - I'd be set by dragging it onto my DOCK and launching it from there.
So - I'm assuming I need to uninstall CS6.   Please list all the steps for me to uninstall so that I don't miss any CS6 files.
When I search in FINDER for CS6 uninstall- I see two icons -  red adobe "UNINSTALL ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS6" (both files are identical)  Under KIND they both say Alias - with two different dates they were last opened (in November - few minutes apart).  Is that what I use to uninstall completely all the files related to PS CS6 Extended as well as Bridge?
Do I need to DEACTIVATE ANYTHING ANYWHERE?
DOES ANYTHING NEED TO GO INTO TRASH.
I just want to make sure 'everything' related to CS6 Extended is off my computer and out of all the files.  In the event i want to re-install - naturally I don't want to run into any conflicting 'issues'.
Do you think if I reinstall I will run into this same problem again (BR not launching)?  Is there anything I can do to prevent it?  I note on the forums - going a few years back - that there have been a lot of issues related to this same problem - even in other versions of the Creative Suite.  Is Adobe doing anything to rectify this problem for us Photoshop CS Suite lovers or is all their focus just going into CC?
Thank you so much for trying to help me resolve this issue.  It is very frustrating to have an Adobe product that is not completely functional.  Especially when the Creative Suites are so expensive.  I appreciate all the time you've put into this issue.

  • CS5 & CS6 (Photoshop and Bridge) file association fix ?

My Win7 SP1 system is now runnging smoothly with Bridge CS5 properly invoking Photoshop PS5 and Bridge CS6 invoking Photoshop PS6.  Simply changing the File type associations in Bridge CS5 did not seem to work.  This was "solved" at 3AM last night while sipping a glass of Scotch - therefore it would be interesting if others would confirm my sleepy discovery:
    1. CS6 assigns all standard graphics files to be associated with CS6 and thus causes Bridge CS5 to invoke Photoshop PS6.  The objective is to have Bridge CS5 invoke PS5 at least for chosen file types.  Ensure neither CS5 nor CS6 is invoked.
    2. In the Win7 Start Menu search box, type "file association".
    3. Select the "Change the file type associated with a file extension".  This starts a window titled "Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program".
    4. All of the graphic files are assocated with CS6.   For those files you want to associate with Photoshop PS 5, click on the choses file extension (e.g. .cr2, .nef, .psd, etc) and click on the "Change Program" to associate the extension to Adobe Photoshop CS5.  (note.  this step seems to be a necessary operation since, when I simply modified the Bridge 5 file type associations, Bridge 5 did not honour the change).
    5. Start Bridge CS5. Choose "Edit -> Preferences -> File Type Associations".
    6. For each file type you wish opened in CS5, change the association from CS6: choose the "Browse" option and locate the CS5 version of Photoshop.exe".  This is probably in Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)/Photoshop.exe.  I happen to choose .cr2, nef, and .psd.  Click on OK to complete the association.
At this point, you can invoke Bridge 5 and it will properly invoke PS 5.  If you invoke Bridge 6, it will invoke PS6.  If you use file manager to invoke one of your selected file extension types, it will start Bridge PS 5. Other graphic files will start PS 6.
If you wish, you can go back and reassociate the chosen types to CS 6 - but your Bridge 5 will still invoke PS5 for your chosen extensions since the Bridge-assigned file associations takes priority over the windows default programme.

Great summary!  I will amend the association FAQ

  • CC apps for PS and Bridge

CC apps indicated updates for PS CC - PS CC (2014) and Bridge CC.  I activated the updates and everything seemed normal with CC Apps indicating that all three apps were/are up to date. However the three apps do not appear to have been updated.  An info check on the apps indicate it has been over a year since they have been updated.  What am I missing?
Incidently what is the difference between PS CC and PS CC (2014)?

Thanks Mylenium. I'd love to say that solved the problem, but unfortunately no. Repair/restart and no change.
It's possible that this is not a huge problem, as I've been able to use the programs successfully with no apparent consequence to the files at all. But I'd really rather not have to deal with alert windows every single time I open an Adobe app, so it would be nice to fix it all the same.
Any other ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

  • I have re-installed PS CS4 and Bridge onto my new Macbook Pro, but I cannot open or edit RAW files?

I just bought a new Macbook, and I tried transferring my Photoshop CS4 and Bridge to my new one via my external Hard Drive. It's worked in the past (I did it when transferring my desktop to my laptop), but this time, I am unable to open or edit RAW files. Bridge won't even allow me the option of "Camera Raw Settings" when going under "File".
I've tried searching for answers to my questions through these forums, and the closest I have gotten is that I need to download the updated Camera Raw plug-in, and I can't find it. Also, I need to download the update to the DNG or something like that, which I did, and that still doesn't work. I've extracted and refiled my RAWs to DNG's, and they will still not open in either Bridge, nor Photoshop. So, now I'm feeling helpless and I'm getting very frustrated at this point.
I shoot with a Canon 7d in RAW format. I've done this for years, and my computers have opened them with CS4 since I've had it.
I appreciate any and all help, thank you!

"Moving", copying, transferring or migrating Adobe applications is to be avoided at all costs.
Always install from the original media, from scratch, then apply all updates available all over again.  The Camera Raw plug-in, for example, is buried deep inside your root level Library.
Your best course of action is to uninstall CS4, download and run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and re-install CS4 as per the previous paragraph.

  • Photoshop 7 and Bridge

I recently ordered CS6 extended, it arrived today. I uninstalled CS5 X fully and proceeded to download my new CS6 X. It turned out to be Photoshop 7, no problem, everything I’ve tried seems to work BUT I cannot find Bridge. Where is it and/or how do I activate it? Thanks. George

To all those who responded to my query,
    Thank you for your help.
Please don’t think of me as ignorant because of the delay in
replying, it is just that I had to wait for my computer literate Son to come
over and dig me out; even though he is ill. He only finished forty minutes ago –
everything now seems to be working.
Yesterday Evening I had a long and very fruitful
conversation with an Adobe rep, Nawaz. The info he gave me meant I chose to
leave the downloaded screen switched on and in situ (I paniced) for my Son to
    see.
I bought and paid for the CS6 Extended from an Adobe
recognised charity and supplier here in the UK. They tell me that Adobe has, in
the last ten days, changed the system for issuing downloads – something about
    security.
    Once again Many Thanks,
    George

  • Dimensions in inches do not match in PS CS5 and Bridge CS5

Comparing the dimensions in inches between Mac Photoshop CS5 and Bridge CS5 show errors in Bridge's calculations.
Example: PS shows in image size 30 x 16.891 inches. Bridge shows in Essentials that the file is 30.1 x 17.
Is there a way to resolve the difference?
Seems that the dimensions of the file would be exact in the Metadata Panel of Bridge, but it shows the same dimensions of the Essentials data below the preview.

Well, I'm not necessarily suggesting it as a permanent solution, just a workable fix to get up and working again. Which is what I've always done - anything's better than those useless junk profiles that these manufacturers keep pushing down unsuspecting users' throats.
But it's true, some calibrators really are "silly devices" and in some cases you really are better off using sRGB. I've accumulated about 8 or 10 different calibrators over the years but if you ask me now I only trust two of them. Both especially and exclusively made for the displays they're used on.
Still, it never hurts to get into good habits early on. Your knowledge improves, your equipment improves, and you move on. The early takeaway for me was that it helped me understand what color management is and what it does - and where it does it. Pretty basic stuff, but nevertheless an important leap in understanding. A small step for a man and all that...

There also seems to be a discrepancy how Orientation is described under Metadata for those images which DO auto rotate : sometimes it is -90 (which is how I hold the camera for verticals and which displays on most verticals) and sometimes it is "normal" even when it has auto rotated the image.   I do not understand this difference.
"Normal" is also used to describe the orientation of those images which DO NOT auto rotate for viewing.
The photos in questions were taken using a Nikon D-300 which is programmed to indicate the orientation of the camera and has always been programmed to do so.
I know I can manually change the orientation but we are talking about hundreds of images (I have over 10,000 photos in all; most of which display fine).
What should I be looking for to explain and correct this issue?
I appreciate anything you can do to help.  Thank you.

Thanks for responding to my query.  I'll check out the thumbnail size.
It is just so curious that 90% of the verticals auto rotate and the rest do not.  The ones that do not rotate are even from different years (other images in those years work fine), although all taken with the same camera.

  • XMP Schema problem Photoshop CS3 and Bridge

    Hi All,
I am in the process of creating a XMP schema to contain custom metadata.
I have created a schema that works 80%. The problem I have is that although the schema shows up and displays all the fields, the data I input is not savced to the image file. This is the same in both Photoshop CS3 and Bridge.
Has anyone come across this problem before?
I would be happy to send the schema to anyone who is happy to check it over for coding problems.
    Many thanks
    Andrew

    Hi Thomas,
I am not sure how to do this. Do I do this through Console?
I tried and received a nul return.
Also is the file you are referring to the image file or the Schema text file?
Sorry, I am a beginner when it comes to XML....
    Thanks
    Andrew

  • Importing into iPhoto after CS and Bridge.

I have moved from a PC using PS7 to edit and ACDSee to manage my photos.  I am now on the latest iMac using CS6 to edit and Bridge to manage my photos.  Many of my photos started out as scans by ScanCafe.
I can successfully load into Bridge an old photo file that started as a scan then was renamed by ACDSee ( and possible editied by PS7).  i can also further edit the photo in CS6 and rename in Bridge.  However, when I try to import the result into iPhoto (I want to use Faces) the file name is not properly picked up by iPhoto and called a Title.  I can successfully import the original file (scan plus ACDSee rename) and iPhoto pickes up the Title from the file name.
When this doesn't work properly, I can slect the photo in iPhoto and click on Info but the Title field is blank on the top RHS of the screen.  If I scroll over the blank title, a pop-up shows the correct Title.  So there appears to be a disconnect as the file is passed between these software packages.
I could send some sample photos but can't attach them.
I hope that this reaches someone with Adobe and iPhoto experience so I don't get into finger pointing between the two products.

    Let me try again:

Bridge is only showing you the embedded low-res JPEG thumbnail/previews that iPhoto leaves exposed after swallowing your actual image files into the entrails of one of its libraries/packages.  Just like Curt Y says.
If you still want to use iPhoto, Curt Y has the right advice for you, i.e. to check out the Apple discussion boards, specifically the iPhoto forum.
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/iphoto
You are not addressing Adobe here.  We are all users just like you, and we are not here to defend Adobe or to apologize for them.
What I am also telling you is that Curt Y is a Windows user and yours truly an avid Mac User of three decades' standing who nevertheless detests iPhoto.   Personally neither one of us gives a darn that iPhoto and Photoshop don't play nice with each other.  We're just trying to give you the best advice we can.
Also remember that Apple banned the use of Adobe's Flash, and is actually a competitor to Photoshop with its Aperture application.  Not really a flawless relationship there.
