MS Explorer Image Toolbar

Is there a way of forcing a user's browser to disable the MS
Explorer Image Toolbox? I'm talking about that little pop up that
prompts a user to copy (steal) the image, print or email the link.
It's very annoying and it blocks the text on some of my
images. Of course I can disable it on my own computer, but I would
like to spare other users the bother.
Thanks,
Doug Collins

  • Image toolbar appears over Crystal reports chart in Infoview

I am publishing Crystal reports developed across a Universe in my BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 InfoView. I have done few line charts in the Crystal reports. I am running on Internet Explorer 7 but my clients are running on Internet Exploreer 6.0. When my clients view Crystal reports (in Infoview) on their browser, the charts are identified as images in their infoview by Internet Explorer 6 browser and it keeps showing the Image toolbar ( the small toolbar which popups over the images in IE 6 prompting you to Save this image/Open this image/Save In My Pictures toolbar etc..)
Please try this link http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/using/howto/customizing/phototoolbar.mspx to know what an image toolbar is.
This little feature got included in Intenet Explorer 6 by which any image identified by the web browser will automatically popup this Image toolbar. It won't happen in Internet Explorer 7.0.
If i am developing a website and do not want this image toolbar appearing over my images in my site I can code accordingly. But i am clueless about the Crystal Reports/Business Objects Infoview environment and how to get rid of this toolbar.
The one option i got is to ask my users who use IE 6.0 to go to Tools->Internet Options->Advanced tab->Multimedia ->uncheck the checkbox Enable image toolbar. Unfortunately my users login under citrix environment and their default browser settings will be restored every day morning they login.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Michael,
Unfortunately BusinessObjects does not control these settings when accessing the InfoView.  It sounds like it'll need to be addressed by the system administrator to disable that option in IE through user profiles/applications.

    Wallie

  • Virtualize IE6 including Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar

I tried to follow this thread http://forums.novell.com/novell-prod...h-plugins.html
to virtualize IE6 including Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar
As a result IE6 contains Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar button but it's not work on Win 7 machine.
I think settings shared with IE9 somehow and it's not work, or what it can be?

With ZAV 9 we have another option available:
When you snapshotted the Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar, was the "Internet Explorer Snapshot Compatibility Mode" option enabled? This can affect how the snapshot turns out and should be enabled anytime a component will hook into IE.
Have you tried building the virtual IE6 by having ZAV scan the system for installed applications? That might be worth a shot to get this working in Windows 7.

  • Cannot find the subfolder "crystalreportviewers11/images/toolbar"

    Hi all,
    In my "crystalreportviewers11/images" folder, there are only 3 files: buttonr.gif, buttonm.gif, buttonl.gif
I cant file any subfolder "toolbar" under it. Does anyone have same issue?

    Hi,
I'm following the "Crystal Report XI for J2EE Startup Guide" [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0e8fd48-b0a7-2a10-1ab7-e358d57f531a?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
The 1st scenario is to utilize a standalone report file deployed as part of a JSP-based Web application. And when I call this jsp, the report displayed its content, but lacked of all images. When I view the source, it indicated that those images were supposed to be retrieved from this sub-folder: "crystalreportviewers11/images/toolbar"
I thought my question is about a sub-folder of images, thus I put this topic to neither .NET nor Java category.

You don't say which browser they're seeing it in. I suspect
    that what
you're seeing is a 'feature' of Internet Explorer - Image
    Toolbar. You
can turn it off by inserting this on every page:

  • Keeping Reader Toolbar Hidden in Internet Explorer

How do I keep the Adobe Reader Toolbar hidden after I hide it when viewing a PDF in Internet Explorer?
If I right click on the toolbar and select the Hide Toolbars Option, the toolbar is hidden for the current PDF.  But, the next time I navigate to a PDF in Internet Explorer, the toolbar is visible again.
If Adobe Reader is started outside of Internet Explorer, the toolbar can be hidden and remain hidden until I select the appropriate menu option to show the toolbar again.
    Thanks.

It is usually dimmed till the time a page is completely loaded. Does this happen for you for all pages, or a specific web page? If specific web page, try pressing the stop button of the browser and see if that helps.

-- You can now selectively enable and disable CSS parsing.

Yes, that is good info. I am still not sure if you are using custom or default websites(?).
On your development computer, open IIS (Start | Run -> Inetmgr). Is your application installed under default websites or under a custom web site?
I suspect you are using custom web site and the aspnet_client folder and it's subfolders are not included under the custom website. E.g.; default web site will use files from c:inetpubwwrootaspnet_client. Ensure that the aspnet_client folder and it's subfolders are copied under the custom website. Also, have a look at [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50aa68c0-82dd-2b10-42bf-e5502b45cd3a] article. It explains the aspnet_client folder and it's subfolders in some detail.

  • CR Viewer tool bar images are missing; Export and Print are not working

    Hi There
I used Crystal report 10.5(VS 2008 base crytal report -- CRRedist2008_x86.msi), i developed ASP.net application using VB.net  program(i used .net 3.5). One of the pages in the application is having crystal report viewer, which is calling a crystal report to populate the result. The report is working as expected on development machine (Win Vista). Hence, I moved the application onto Server (Windows Server Web; 32Bit OS and IIS). I installed the CRRedist2008_x86.msi, which added the "aspnet_client" under default website. As my site is a made as an application under default webiste. I tried...
    a) By copying the aspnet_client folder into the website folder
    b) By adding a virtual directory called "aspnet_client" under my website pointing it into the folder under "default website"
None of the trials are working for me.
When I click on Print or Export buttons (although their images are missing), I get the error sigh on bottom left (status bar) of the browser and the popping up the same giving me below error details

    Hello All.
I am excited to let you know that the issue is being resolved.
Here is steps that lead me to resolution and solution..
I installed Fiddler2 and looked into every the debugging details of the transaction while running the report.
Learned that the crystal report is using the aspnet_client foler under "Default website" NOT under the crrent website.
Hence I tried to access the image via http path from local machine
    http://myserver/aspnet_client/system_web/2_0_50727/CrystalReportWebFormViewer4/images/toolbar/export.gif.
(Notice, "mysite" folder is been removed)
I was expecting to see the gif on my browsers' body. It gave me an error.
Investigated further more on the error and found that the "Managed Pipe Line" of the respective application pool is to be changed to "Classic" instead of "Integrated"
    changed it .. Boom...
Tool bar is showing up with proper images and as well the "Export" and "Print" functions are working as expected..
Hope this helps to those in the same situation.
Again.. this is one of many many solutions on this issues.
    Thank You

  • Medical Images not displaying properly with Microsoft Terminal Services

Virtually all scaled images that are displayed in Internet Explorer when in Microsoft Terminal Services are displayed with no smoothing. This has been tested with  IE8, Server 2003, Server 2008.
Here is the original issue thread from 2009 (5 years ago) that states that this issue is a bug from microsoft. Is there a Bug identifier that can be used to track where it is fixed?
    Original forum topic:
    internet-explorer-image-file-ts-bad-image
I need this fixed ASAP, as medical images need to be of the highest quality, and this service reduces that quality. Can anyone speak to me about what the status is for a fix for this?

    Hi Paul,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
What’s the client RDP version you are using? I will suggest you to update the RDP to RDP 7.0 and IE version to IE9-10 and then check the result. Use the Manage Add-ons dialog in Internet Explorer to enable the Terminal Services ActiveX Control. Apart from these,
suggest you to perform below steps.
Firstly install, MS12-037: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer: June 12, 2012
You many need to restart the server to take effect. Also Please check that you have “Mshtml.dll & Wmshtml.dll” file.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.
