MS SQL table metadata to Oracle

Hi Gurus!
Is it possible using ODI create target table on Oracle using metadata from MS SQL?
I can done reverse engineering for MS SQL table and put it as source in interface and than ODI will use this information and create flow table on Oracle.
Can I create target table like a flow table 1:1 only with Oracle data types?
Thank in advance!

Hello,
I have a similar issue, about creating a table in oracle from an existing table in MS Server.
I've tried the above solution.
However, there are data type incompatibility issues - like timestamp datatype which is not valid in Oracle since the variable is declared as :
BLOBLASTUPDATED TIMESTAMP(23) NULL
Error: ORA-30088: datetime/interval precision is out of range
which is due to '(23)'
I actually have to replicate a table (which already exist in MS Server) in Oracle automatically using ODI as interface tool.
Any advice would be of great help.
Thanks.
Rgds,
Nishna

  • How to sort index_by pl/sql tables data in Oracle 9i Release 9.2.0.1.0 ?

    Hi all,
    I have populated an index_by binary_integer pl/sql table :
    declare
    type rec_ty is record(ligne number,code_enreg number(2),code_enreg_ordered number(2));
         type tab_ty is table of rec_ty index by binary_integer;
         vtab tab_ty;
         i pls_integer := 1;
    begin
    for venreg in(select * from fichier_tempo where num > 0 order by num) loop
              vtab(i).ligne := venreg.num;
              vtab(i).code_enreg := to_number(substr(venreg.texte,7,2));
              i := i + 1;
         end loop;
    end;
    Now I want to sort the code_enreg data of vtab into its code_enreg_ordered field. I must do that because I must verify that each code_enreg data entered are ordered. So if code_enreg is not equal to code_enreg_ordered at a specified index of vtab then I must take a decision in my program code ; I must code something when this disorder happens.
    How to do that ?
    Thank you very much indeed.

    Thank you Jeneesh , it works with a few modifications about the assignement of the pl/sql tables.
    Fantasy > Your blog talks about sorting the pl/sql table through the key. But I want to sort it through the field data. And my field data contains duplicated data. So you did not really reply to my need. Thank you anymore.

  • Oracle datalinks to update a MS SQL table

    I am accessing a MS SQL table thru an Oracle procedure. Reads with no problems. When I try and update a column (2 columns affected one is a int and the other is datetime) receive the following error:
    ORA-02070: database IWSCIV does not support || in this context
    Sql Statements tried are
    UPDATE iwPhotoProcessed@IWSCIV
    SET "Status" = 1
    where "BKno" = '1' || v_app_id;
    UPDATE iwPhotoProcessed@IWSCIV
    SET "Status" = 1, CompletedDate='04/05/2008 09:14:15 AM'
    where "BKno" = '1' || v_app_id;
    The above command (minus the @IWSCIV) works fine in MS SQL and updates rows.

    1) I would generally suggest avoiding string literals when doing UPDATE statements in general, but particularly in the case of updates across Heterogeneous Connectivity database links.
    2) I would generally write something like this (assuming "BKno" is declared as a string)
    DECLARE
      l_new_status NUMBER := 1;
      l_app_id VARCHAR2(10) := '1' || v_app_id;
    BEGIN
      UPDATE iwPhototProcessed@IWSCIV
         SET "Status" = l_new_status
       WHERE "Bkno" = l_app_id;
    END;Justin

    RegardsRECORD type is supported only in PL/SQL for SQL you need to use OBJECT type.

    Hi,
    It seems that your configuration is Ok. By the way, the workaround for this error is:
    ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
    [Transparent gateway for ODBC][H001] The environment variable <HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO> is not set.
    * Set HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO in the hs{sid}init.ora file to the data source name.
    Example: HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = <ODBC DataSource Name>
    * Make sure the hs{sid}init.ora file exists in the ORACLE_HOME/hs/admin directory and has the same name as the SID in the LISTENER.ORA.
    Example: If SID=hsodbc in the listener.ora file, then the hs{sid}init.ora file would be named ORACLE_HOME/hs/admin/inithsodbc.ora

  • What is the easiest way to export all tables data from Oracle to MS SQL Server?

    Hello MS,
    I would like to export all tables from Oracle 11.2 to MS SQL Server 2012 R1.
    Using the tool "Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant v6.0 for Oracle" did not work for me because there are too many warnings and errors regarding the schema creation (MS cannot know it because they are not the schema designer). My idea is
    to leave/skip the schema creation to the application designer/supplier and instead concentrate on the Oracle data export and MS SQL data import.
    What is the easiest way to export all tables data from Oracle to MS SQL Server quickly?
    Is it:
    - the „MS SQL Import and Export Data“ Tool
    - the “MS SQL Integration Services” Tool
    - not Oracle dump *.dmp format because it is a propritery binary format
    - flat file *.csv (delimited format)
    Thanks!

    Hi lingodingo,
    If you want to directly export all tables from Oracle database to SQL Server, I suggest you use SQL Server Import and Export Wizard. Because you just need to follow the wizard with GUI, this is the easiest way.
    If you want to make some modification for the tables‘ data before loading to SQL Server, I suggest you use SQL Server Integration Services package. For more details, please refer to the following similar thread:

  • How to integrate DRM with third party tool for loading metadata in SQL table

    Experts,
    I am new to DRM and I have a requirement in which we want to integrate DRM with third party tool(lets say SQL table) as target and load metadata from DRM (Parent node, name , alias etc) to SQL table (same column name)
    Is there any way we can integrate DRM to export the same to table directly instead to files. If yes what are the steps we have to follow.
    Is there anyway we can customize DRM to execute queries or run batch
    Can I have a basic example please.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,

    1. Use DRM Export to Table option, for that create an External Connection first for the Target Database and select the respective Tables to which you wish to Export the Hierarchy information.
    2. You can perform most of the DRM Actions via the DRM_BATCH_CLIENT.exe.
        Please refer to Using the Data Relationship Management Batch Client of DRM User guide.
    let me know if you have any issues.

    Hi,
    This delivers possibly wrong data in MCOD installations.
    Depending on Oracle Version and Patchlevel dba_segments does not always have the correct data,
    at any time esp. for indexes right after being rebuild parallel (Even in DB02 because it is using USER_SEGMENTS).
    Takes a day to get the data back in line (never found out, who did the correction at night, could be RSCOLL00 ?).
    Use above statement with "OWNER = " in WHERE for MCOD or connect as schema owner and use USER_SEGMENTS.
    Use with
    segment_name LIKE '<TABLE_NAME>%'
    if you like to see the related indexes as well.
    For partitioned objects, a join from dba_tables / dba_indexes to dba_tab_partitions/dba_ind_partitions to dba_segments
    might be needed, esp. for hash partitioned tables, depending on how they have been created ( partition names SYS_xxxx).

  • Returning multiple pl/sql tables to VB using ADO + Oracle's OLE DB

    Windows XP
    VB 6
    ADO 2.7
    Oracle 9i Client (OLE DB 9.2.0.1)
    Oracle DB 8.1.7.2
    I have just upgraded a VB5/NT (RDO + MS ODBC for Oracle) app to VB6/XP (ADO + Oracle's OLE DB). The calls to stored procedures that returns tables are not working now. I get following error:
    -214721900 ORA-06550: line 1, column 42:

    Please provide hint/help.

    Yes, the LO_AUDIT_ID_TBL is a variable (of table type) being returned from the stored procedure.
    I tried changing case of table is in pl/sql.
    I tried removing the table(s) from the Call statement...
    and I get error message that there are missing parameters.

  • Export data from MS sql server table to an oracle table

    I need to move data from a sql server table to an oracle table and when ever the sql server table is updated it needs to automatically update the oracle table. Is there procedure to do this or do I migrate the data once and set up a trigger on the sql server table to update the oracle table? If the trigger is the answer how do I do that?

    You might want to check out Oracle's heterogeneous services functionality if you haven't done so already. Here are a few links:
