  • Monitor Is Flickering - ATI Display Driver Problem Error Message

Hello, for the last few weeks, I have been having a monitor issue. Everytime I turn my computer and monitor on, it is flickering like crazy on my HP 2509B Desktop Monitor, and on the right bottom corner a flag shows up with ATI Display driver, and I am trying to figure out how to repair this monitor issue. I don't know if it is coming from the Monitor itself or its coming from the Mother Board TOWER, I am going crazy with this and its hurting my eyes everytime I turn it.
Sometimes the flickering would just go off by itself, and now its doing it constantly. I don't know what to do with this.
I love my monitor and I hate to see to replace it or something. Please help me with this. I hope it is not a driver hardware issue.
I would greatly appreciate all the help I can get to do this myself if not then I am going to have to take to the store I bought it from and get them to help me out, but I want to do this on my own. If you can help. Thanks

if you have another monitor you can test it to see if if does the same thing and also check the cable and maybe use a different one to see if the cable is not the cause which i doubt
Please provide Kudos to whom has provided answers or
    good points or advice..
Aslo if the questions or issues solved please check it

  • K8MM-ILSR & ATI 9550 driver problem

I ahve a K8MM-ILSR & ATI 9550.  The internal video card is disabled and driver is not installed.  When the ATI 9550 driver is installed the system will have random crashes.  As soon as the ATI 9550 driver is deleted, everything is stable. No crashes.
    K8MM-ILSR
    ATI 9550 video card
    512 meg ram
    80 gig ata HD
    Sony 17" Multisync Monitor
    Internal audio

Thanks, I've tried two different versions of the drivers and no luck.  Could the monitor have something to do with this?  My 17' Sony monitor is 8 years old. (It is in perfect shape for being that old.)

  • Satelite Pro A200 ATI display driver problem

    Hello there,
Have following problem: Can't install ATI software on my notebook. There is an error message during installation: "Catalyst Install Manager can't initialize Detection Manager".
    OS - Vista Business
Display adapter - Mobility Radeon HD2600
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
    You could try to use another installation procedure;
    - Unzip the ATI graphic card driver package
    - access the device manager and choose the graphic card
    - choose update the driver and point to the palace where the display driver package was unzipped.
This should help to renew and to reinstall the graphic driver.

  • MSI 180 - Graphic driver problems

    Hi folks,
after cooling down my Mega 180 from 48 degree to 34 degree start-up-termperature  (heatsink lapping, turn fans around, build in a fresh air duct for cpu fan) my system is running very stable - what a great lap forward after days full of frustration. Thanks to live update I have the newest bios (rev. 3.5) and drivers for my hardware installed. But I'm still facing some smaller problems, maybe is this forum I can find a hint how to handle that:
    1.) TFT-drivers not accepted
I'm using a Hyunday Q17 TFT display and I never had any problems with my old system to identify this correctly. But with my MSI 180 XP installed 5 (!) default displays and will not accept the correct monitor driver I have. When I try to delete 4 of this 5 from the control panel XP re-installs them during the next boot-process. My question is: why 5 displays and why just default displays??
2.) Flickering and coloured stripes after booting
Sometimes, when Windows is alreday started, the display changes from the "Welcome"-Screen to some colourfull stripes and seems to be frozen. After hibernating and re-starting everything is o.k.again. Diver bug ?
    3.) Black screen
When entering the windows desktop, the screens turn black for 1-2- seconds, then again it show the desktop, then again 1-2 seconds black. It looks like the driver tries out various video modes. But I don't know why ???
Conclusion is, that there seems to be a bug in my graphics driver. I tried to load the newest once via Live Update, then again directly from Nvidia website, but nothing changed. Any ideas about that ???
Any hints for me ?? Thankx in advance
    Flo

Thank you for your reply. I think, i should try to describe my problem more clearer :o)
I'll check later, when I'm back home, in Nvidia driver are installed properly. I just checked, if there is a question mark somewhere in system control panel resource overview.  But everything looks fine.
The flickering is a little bit more tricky: When starting the PC instead of my windows desktop a colorfull page of thousands of colourfull stripes appears and flickers like a rainbow. Windows is definitively running, I can can use all keyboard short cuts e.g.. It is not the type of flickering when running under low frequency. Maybe this, comnined with 2 seconds black display, is part of the famous "black display" issue.
My last machine was able to identify my TFT correctly as a Hyundai Q17. But at that machine it was connected by DVI, not the analog connection. Maybe that is my problem. I'm still looking for a small graphics adapter with digital out (nothing special, I'm really happy with the onboard graphic controller, I'm not a gamer), I'm afraid my old fullsize FX5200 might be too large for the Mega.

  • MSI X52P Combo Drive Problem...

    Hello all
I recently purchased the MSI X52P Combo CD-RW / DVD-ROM drive to replace my old CD-ROM drive. Installation went well, XP Pro booted up, installed it's own ATAPI COMBO52XMAX driver and the drive appears as DVD/CD-RW Drive in my drive listing as expected. The only problem is, it will not read any disc in a normal XP Pro boot.
After investigating, the drive reads discs perfectly using my old Win98 boot disk which uses a different ATAPI driver (the drive flew through a dir *.* /s on the bundled 600MB odd Nero CD in seconds) and also works perfectly in Safe Mode.
As it worked perfectly in Safe Mode I took that opportunity to install Nero. I then rebooted and discovered that I can use the drive to burn a CD with Nero in normal mode (which reads perfectly in another drive) but again in normal mode won't read any discs including the one I burnt. I'm just trying to remember what the differences between Normal and Safe Mode are. They both use the same driver but doesn't SM use Real Mode Drivers?
    Anyway, so far I've tried...
Every combination of IDE channel / master slave setup possible.
Updating the firmware, it's now the 1.40 version.
Checking this forum, seems other people have had similar problems.
A bucket load of things that perhaps only mad people would try.
For the record, there are no device conflicts and AMIBIOS reports it as VER 1.40 ATAPI COMBO52XMAX on boot up. Note, I have been building / tinkering / playing with PC's practically all my life but this is really the first time that I have been stumped with a hardware problem.
Any help / suggestions / ideas would be greatly appreciated. I know the drive works perfectly, just not in normal mode

    AHA!
    Getting somewhere.
Device Manager - IDE ATA/ATAPI - Secondary IDE Channel - Properties - Advanced Settings
Changing Transfer Mode from 'DMA If Available' to 'PIO Only' caused the drive to immediately spring into action and read discs of all types. However, I'm not happy with that so will fiddle further. PIO mode is processor intensive whereas DMA mode uses the disk controller to transfer data to memory without lugging the proc.
So without looking I am guessing that the difference between Safe Mode and Normal Mode is that Normal Mode tries to use DMA first whereas Safe Mode just uses PIO to be safe. My hard drives are happy chugging along in DMA mode so I'm sure the X52P should too.
Hope this information is useful to anyone else having difficulty reading discs.

What omega version? Is the APU disabled? How many vga adapters are shown? Show a screenshot of the device manager. Is the R9 270X connected to the psu? Does it work without the vag just using the APU?
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%207%20-%2064
catalyst packages and optional downloads. i installed the chipset first then this R9 VGA. but it updates the chipset R7 aswell it is not a isolated install of the VGA.
YES the R9 270x is connected and fans spinning. yes the APU works without the R9 270x in the slot.
i have had to uninstall the VGa Driver that installed over the 6.01 chipset R7. so the standard VGA showing will be the R9 270x. i cannot update the driver using device manager , because the driver is packaged.

  • MSI GP60 Resolution/driver problem

I bought my MSI Laptop a few weeks ago and then decided I wanted to get an ssd. I installed an OS (Windows 8.1) on my New SSD and everything seemed to work fine, except one thing. The Graphics is not like it used to be. According to the screen resolution options my pc has a resolution of 1920x1080, but the Graphics is a lot worse than before. I installed all the drivers but I still do not know what the problem is. I went to the nVidia options and double checked that I used the nvidia card instead of the Integrated Graphics, but still everything is kind of "bigger" and more blurry than before the installation.
Here are a couple of screenshots I took that might help you diagnose the problem I'm having.
http://gyazo.com/b9e1f805b3d51c5e86494a170edb5f52  - According to this Picture it is the intel HD Graphics that is taking care of the Laptop display, might this be the problem? If so, how do I change it?
http://gyazo.com/2bd91dd9d14d836998dab9a9ab8f5bef  - Here is something else I find weird. Whenever I'm on my desktop the Graphics are decent, but whenever I got to My Computer or use the settings/setup of a program, all the text becomes blurry.
Help is greatly appreciated!  (BTW using internet Explorer, so there might be typos)

I am on Windows XP PRO SP3 and i want to switch to Win 7 PRO SP1 but i am not willing to do that yet because of this problem.
If you switch to Windows 7, the driver is already included, so nothing to worry about there.
    Quote
I got the CD with the driver but is from 2006 when i bought the PC and you can figure... driver is damn old.
Your board is old too. Doesn't matter if the driver is 'old', you can still install and use it.

  • ATI/AMD driver problem, HD6470M & HD6520G

Hi everyone, I've just installed Arch on my laptop which is lenove Z475 with AMD Radeon HD 6470M & HD 6520G, and it seems I've met several problem with the driver.
First, I've tried the catalyst, using "catalyst-generator 11.8-1", adding "radeon.modeset=0", but the topbar of Gnome3 just disappear and it crashed a few times.
So I decided to use "xf86-video-ati", but if I don't add "radeon.modeset=0", the screen goes black.
If I add "radeon.modeset=0", then I only got a "fallback" mode.
I've read wiki but still didn't how to solve it and I've tried to search but English is not my mother tongue, and I don't really know what "key word" would work better...
So... how to make the xf86-video-ati driver work normally?
    Anybody can help?

ATI drivers from what I know still have major issues with Gnome3 - I am not sure if there is a solution. Check the AUR comments on catalyst package. I don't personally use Gnome so I'm not 100% sure.

  • K9A ATI Filter Driver Problem

Looking for some ideas about this problem....
Crossfire system, x1950's in Vista 32bit.
This system was rock solid for months, until cataylst 7.7, but problem may not be related two catalst. System started having memory errors, PFN and memory manager errors, removing a stick of memory cleared up the errors, and catalst stopped showing an option for crossfiring so i removed the second video card.
I now have one stick of memory and one video card installed and the systen is stable. I have completely removed catayst and reinstalled and it's stable.
When i put the second stick of memory in, I blue screen. (already tried different memory)
The southbridge filter driver shows resource problems  "Input/Output Range 0000 - 0CF7 used by and ACPI x86-based PC Memory Range 40000000 - FFFFFFFF not available."
ATI's not much help, any ideas?
    Thanks, Bretware

    Just to make things clear:
Do all the memory sticks you try work if they are alone?
With only one stick of memory "even" Catalyst 7.7 works?
But Crossfire wont work in any situation?
There is some kind of crossfire bridge or bracket between the two graphics cards, isn't there, that has caused all kind of problems.
Other than that, one thinks of Vista having a problem getting things in the right order - may have trouble with anything. What is the system temperature?

  • MSI VOX USB driver problem (XP PRO SP2)

When I plug in the VOX to the USB Windows looks for the MSI MS8609 driver, but does not find it (even if it is installed). Then after a while it finds a driver called USB2800. I've tried to uninstall this an reinstall VOX SW but I can not change it into MS8609 !

Have you tried installing the drivers from the MSI website?
    The drivers are available >>here<<.
Also, make sure your motherboard drivers are installed properly and that there are no yellow exclamation marks in device manager as that would also explain why the sound card drivers won't install.

  • MSI NX8500GT-TD256E Driver problems

    Hi,
I have a PCI express MSI NX8500GT-TD256E video card in a MSI K9AGM3-F motherboard. It was working prior to having to re-install xp (but on board sound wasn't), but after reinstalling xp, when I install the video card drivers, the screen becomes unreadable, just pixelated colours!
Without the drivers installed, just the xp vga drivers, the screen works good -32 bit full colour at 1024 - 768, but as soon as I install the Drivers - unviewable! I have downloaded the latest drivers from the MSI web site and I have even tried different drivers with same result, soon as I reboot - crap!
The video is ok without drivers installed, so I take it he card is working ok, Power supply 450W, and 18A at 12V, so that's ok,
but without the drivers installed can't use duel screen, new games etc. and sys info says video adapter not installed. (After reinstalling sound drivers sound working good.)
It is verry frustrating. Any suggestions??
Just a follow up. I unistalled driver, ran Driver Sweeper then NFR just to make sure I uninstalled driver, then installed driver version 1819. Still same result. If I press F8 and boot in VGA mode, I can see all the info on Video card, and the NVIDIA tabs are in display settings, but if I change the resolution the same results - unviewable screen with block colours like the old CGA colours.   With no driver installed I can get 1280 by 1024 full colour 32 bits.
Anyone with any Ideas, please help.

    It looks like drivers mess.
    Do a >>Clear CMOS Guide<< {With power cord removed}
I suggest you again new fresh install, then install chipset drivers http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=driverfile&dno=2427&i=0
Followed by VGA Drivers ==> http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.16_whql.html
If no change test VGA in another machine

You shouldn't install anything you find especially not from bios section! weren't you reading what it says there? Your laptop came with win8 pre-installed and you can't crossflash to a Win7 version. Please read the warnings.

  • MSI Z87 G45 driver problem

I have a MSI z87 g45 motherboard along with a i5 4670K. I've downloaded all the drivers directly from the MSI website. But, I am unable to install intel_rst and intel_vga_mb. Windows says "system does not meet minimum requirements". I don't understand. Anyone got a solution?

Sounds like they are disabled in bios.
If you are using a discrete card and have multi monitor support disabled the IGD will be disabled by default.
Intel Rapid Start is disabled (and not really needed) by default so no worries.

  • Overheating the laptop - Ati driver problem (SOLVED)

    Hi ppl.
I have Acer Aspire 5732 Z laptop. Intel Pentium processor T4400 2.2 GHz. Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4570 512 MB VRAM, 15.6", 3 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD.
I successfully solved all the problems during the installation, but this one I can not handle. The laptop is HEATING too much. I also have Ubuntu 9.10 on the other partition and its all fine. Its working on the temperature of ~46 C. And my Arch is working on the temperature of ~60 C. So its about 15 C difference between Ubuntu and Arch. Way too much.
Arch is running in KDE mode. Have to add that I installed all KDE packages. Maybe the cause of this problem ?
I am using the proprietary Ati Radeon driver. I tried to change it with open source Ati driver but Xorg refused to configure again (gave me a blank screen).
I checked Wiki on laptop, but didnt succeded to solve this problem. Here s my rc.conf:
    MODULES=( acpi-cpufreq )
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng dbus hal !acpid !acpi-support powernowd wicd !network !netfs alsa crond laptop-mode kdm)
    powernowd configuration:
    OPTIONS="-q -u 30 -l 10"
acpi-support is blacklisted because I installed it from AUR and didnt managed it to work. Its just saying "no permission" during the boot. I actually installed it because I read that its Ubuntus Acpi management. ~ I repeat Acpi is working fine on my Ubuntu.
I can also show my laptop-mode configuration files - if needed.
I am a newbie for Arch but I rlly done my best on this issue as I want to use this system. I think its great and highly configurable and I just love the fact its a rolling distro. But I cant use it overheating.
    So, please help.

I am using lmsensors on Arch and some kind of panel sensor on Mint, but its ok for sure. Few minutes ago I checked temperature on Arch and it was 56 C. Then I rebooted and when I logged into Mint it was 56 C. But few mins later temperature normalized to 45 C in Mint. After lsmod I logged into Arch again and temperature raised to 54 C.
So its Arch problem for sure.

I am not sure about noise level of fans. Sounds similar to me. But maybe its a fan problem. I know its sometimes loud and sometimes silent. Probably depends on the system temperature. Maybe Arch cant control it normaly. Is there any kind of software that is used for fan speed ?
