MSI Eclipse problems

Hello, i just built my new pc alone and i have an issue i wanna ask about
MSI Eclipse X58
Core 920
PSU Cooler Master 850W
3x1gb Corsair TR3X3G1600C9
VGA Asus 285
When i press the power button, all lights turn on (like the pc is gonna start booting) for 2-3 secs, then evrything goes off (like power turned off) for 3-4 secs and then evrything is on again and the pc boots. Is this normal? Thank you.
(This happens 99% but there is a 1% possibility to boot without turning off and on, that made me think this might not be normal)
One more issue is that when i start a game a strange sound comes out of the chipsets (i think is the vga), Its like the sound old modems used to do to connect but not so loud and im sure it comes out of chipsets and not a speaker. Is it a vga/soundcard conflict. Soundblaster is installed in first pci-e and next to it i have install the vga (recomended from manual).
I start game and suddenly the sound comes out , i alt-tab to desktop and sound stops. Happens with all games i tried, even vista chess.

thrass it sounds like you have the double/fake boot issue there is a sticky about it at the top of the Forum.  As for the sound in games I used to have issues like that with some other speakers.  Basically the video card was producing some EMI frequency just from its regular operation and my speakers were picking it up.  Getting new speakers fixed it because the new speakers had better shielding against EMI.  This may be your problem the first suggestion is a good one try it with a different video card.
A good rule of thumb is to just keep some old 10 dollar video card laying around for testing in times like these.  I have some old 64meg quadro I use for just such times.

    Dear MSI Teams,
    Currently my MSI Eclipse plus was send for RMA. 1st ram slot spoil. 1st sata spoil. But cannot 1 to 1 exchange. And also prblem with the skype.
    Now the distributer loan a MSI Eclipse to me. Now my pc keep restart. WTH!! Supporting MSI so many years and get this !
    Regret to get this MSI Eclipse plus & my previous (MSI Eclipse). Going to change ASUS Rampage II. Solid and not much problem compare with MSI Eclipse plus.
    WHAT DO YOU GUYS SAYS???????

    Are you asking for assistance or...?  How about giving details about your system to see if you have some component creating this experience.  Please give us your complete system specs including the PSU(the brand, model and especially the amps for the +12v rail(s)).  Please read the >>Posting Guide<<

  • MSI Eclipse Plus problems

    Hi Guys,
    Spec as follows;
    MSI Eclipse Plus
    Inwin 650W Commander 80+ PSU
    i7 920 CPU
    6x 2GB Apacer DDR3 10600 1333MHz
    MSI N275GTZ (Twin Frozr) GPU
    Seagate Barracuda 1Tb 7200 HDD

    Logitech MX5500 Revolution Cordless Desktop
    Logitech Z5500 Digital Surround Sound
    MS Vista Ultimate 64bit
    Bios Rev 1.0
    After a week of struggling and the box traveling back to the wholesaler twice the OS is loaded and the MB and graphics drivers. I have faced problems from the incorrect voltage RAM being supplied (1.9V) to a horribly unstable system that boots when it wants to. Currently when the systems boots there is a 25% chance that graphic of the "windows starting" page is corrupted and the PC hangs.
    This is using the only current configuration that will boot to hand to OS. I have removed 3x memory modules and only left the Black slots populated. When I populate the blue slots over and above the board quickly overheats and becomes unstable. Upon reboot either cold or hot the system will hang on "DDR init", reboot 3 times or more and sometimes displays the overclock error.
    Does anyone know what the problem is and is there a workaround or update to correct this. This PC has cost plenty dough and is frustrating the hell out of me.

    Max voltage for ram is 1.65V , change the settings manually if needed in the bios.
    Try asking a new bios on the MSI on-line support , there is a new one but it is beta i believe. (A7566IMS.111 date 1/06/2009)
    They gave me one(beta) for my eclipse (not plus)and mine is running like a rocket.

  • MSI eclipse plus startup problem

    Hi,
    I have the MSI eclipse plus motherboard, but I have a strange startup problem.
    Sometimes my computer fails to start up. When I try again sometimes it works fine. (without changing any hardware or software configuration)
    The Eclipse plus has a small  D-led2 panel that shows information about the startup phases.
    When my startup fails, the panel mentions: CPU init. And the error Code is FF (this means: power on and first initialize CPU)
    (This is the phase just before DDR init).
    So the startup fails in a very early stage of the startup process, (before I can access my bios)
    When the start up fails, I have to disconnect the power cable, reconnect and try to start again. This is a very uncomfortable situation.
    I have the latest BIOS version 21/04/2009 V1.0
    I tried the fail-save default options in the bios.
    My processor is i7 940
    RAM: OCZ DDR3 . 6 pieces of 2GB. 1600Mhz (3 dual channel kits)
    Power supply: Corsair 1000Watt
    I hope somebody can help me.
    Thanks in advance

    Please note that the memory controller was moved into the CPU with the i7 - it is no longer part of motherboard chipset (MCH). You're not the first and probably won't be the last to buy the wrong type of DDR3 memory for your i7 rig. People, before you buy; check if the memory you are handing money over for is actually suitable for your CPU. Simple really as they will state they are i7 compatible. The i7 has a recommended maximum voltage of 1.65V for the integrated memory controller, 1.9V is probably a dangerous voltage to set it to (if the BIOS even allows it). To quote the OCZ FAQ:
    Quote
    The memory supply voltage also powers the receivers and senders on the memory controller with a voltage plane known as VDDQ. Because the Corei7 is manufactured on a 45 nm node, the logic is sensitive to overvoltage and Intel defines the upper safe limit for the Core i7 as 1.65V.
    So to answer your question:
    Quote
    I still have one question: What do I risk with my DDR3 memory that is standard at 1.9V
    More than likely, the integrity of the i7 940 itself. You have to ask yourself, "What's cheaper to replace... the RAM or the CPU?" The answer should be simple enough to work out for the average user.
    I'd be taking the RAM back if at all possible and exchange/upgrade it for an i7 compatible kit (which will be three/six stick tri-channel, not two/four sticks dual-channel) designed to operate within the 1.5V~1.65V recommended voltage range. The OCZ equivalent (comparing what you currently have) to what you want would be this range.

  • MSI Eclipse Sli and Asus 6950 Direct CU II problem

    I’ve recently bought the Asus 6950 Direct CU II 2GB. After I installed it a weird buzzing sound started coming from around the area, where the big heat sink below the cpu socket sits. That only happened when the graphics card was on high profile and particularly when I was in any game.
    About a month later my card stopped working properly so thinking it was its fault I used the warranty and got it replaced. However with the new card the system won’t even start. My monitor goes from “Please check signal cable” to “No signal” and apparently the system is not even moving past the bios checks.
    The weird think is that when I use my old card (MSI R4870 1GB) the system seems to work properly!!! I tried the 6950 in two different systems and it seems to be working….
    I’ve tried resetting the bios removing other devises to test the power supply etc., but nothing works, I can only think that something is wrong with the motherboard.
    Any ideas on what might be wrong???
    My system is:
    MB: MSI Eclipse Sli
    CPU: Core I7 920
    PSU: TAGAN TG700-U88 PIPEROCK SERIES 700W
    RAM: 3 x CORSAIR TR3X6G1600C9 Triple DDR3
    HDD: WD Velociraptor 150GB for the OS

    Thanks for the timely reply HU16E.
    I don't have another psu available right now but I will in 3 days so I will try that.
    On the other hand I have mine working as a single rail from the day I bought it (turbo mode switch on the psu), but i am not sure how this can be connected.
    Also while I was playing around with the system it started up, only once, with the 6950, and that happened with everything connected so I still can't figure what the hell is happening!!!! I am thinking that something on the pcie port is wrong so i tried on the other ports too, yet nothing happened.
    I am still leaning towards the motherboard but any other ideas would be welcomed.

  • ONE LAST HURRAH: Before saying Goodbye to my Beloved MSI Eclipse!!!

    I already posted this  article  in the motherboard thread but seems like this is the best place to post this
    ONE LAST HURRAH: Before saying Goodbye to my Beloved MSI Eclipse!!!
    Well it has been two months since I purchased this MSI Eclipse SLI board and while waiting for its bigger brother MSI Eclipse Plus, I would like to try out a new board from another manufacturer. Before I pass this board to its new owner, I decided to give it a little review to so that other people who will be upgrading to i7 platform will have some idea how good or how bad this board is.
    A few months ago and maybe until now, Eclipse is the flagship board of MSI in terms of i7 based motherboard. Its bigger brother MSI Eclipse Plus has already been sighted in some forums but no definite date yet on when it will be available in the market.
    The Box
    The size of the box was way bigger than my old P45 motherboards. It is actually almost 2x the size of the conventional ATX board box.
    Upon opening the panel on the box, you will see a lot of information about the board! You will also see the added stuff from MSI like the Green Power Genie as well as the awesome Creative Xfi! Yes, a creative Xfi Extreme Audio PCIe sound card was included on the package.
    Upon opening the box, you will see a plastic container (I am assuming that this is anti-static) that contains the motherboard, DLED2, Green Power Genie and creative X-fi.
    There’s another box that contains a lot of stuff! MSI is as usual generous in giving their customers all the things the need to fully populate the board. This includes the  cables needed to populate all the sata and ide slots,  cross fire and SLI cable, additional USB bracket, ESATA bracket and the M connectors. All the manuals needed to setup the boards are also included.
    The Board and Layout:
    The board for me is pretty sexy!  It comes with a black PCB. The RAM slots and the other expansion slots are only blue and black in color which is a perfect combination for an intel based platform. The IOH and the ICH10R is actually covered by a copper heatsink with heatpipes connecting them. Well, personally I do not like this design since I do know that x58 generates a lot of heat. The VRMs also come with a copper heatsink but no heatpipe . As far as I understand from the box information, this is MSI’s split thermal design as well as protection from warping.
    MSI also provided 6 RAM slots and they come in blue and black sockets. Do yourself a favor by putting the ram in the black slots. I previously ran into problems of the system hanging in “ DDR ini “ and later found out from reading the manual and searching the web that the black slots should be populated first.
    The board came with 10 sata ports! 6 of them in 90 degrees are connected to the ICH10 and the 4 are actually by the jmicron chips attached to the board and also function as
    HW raid. Connect 2 HDD on sata 7 and 8 or sata 9 and 10, do some stuff in the BIOS and you are all set to run the system in raid 1 (mirror) or 0 (stripe). I have had no chance to test the raid 0 + 1 since I don’t have 4 identical drives.  It also comes with an IDE slot for your old parallel IDE HDD and/or ODD.
    The expansion slots come with 3 pci x16 slots, 2 pci and 2 pcie x1 which I believe is more than enough to suffice your daily needs. The bottom part of the board came with a power, reset and dled switch along with MSI’s OC jumper.
    The back panel is not that good looking. Well it’s the same back panel style of their P45 series board. It doesn’t matter anyway since it is at the back of the chassis and what concerns me the most is functionality. The board came with 8 usb ports at the back, 2  Gigabit lan, 2 esata ports, a 1394 connector, a cmos reset switch and the conventional PS/2 ports for mouse and keyboard.
    Bios and overclocking
    I  just captured the most important portion on the bios which is the Cell Menu. It is the overclocking tab on MSI’s BIOS
    Overclocking and Benchmarking Results
    Since I have not installed anything yet on my new board, I decided just to compare the stock and overclock result from this board.
    Below are the lists of components that I will be using
    Intel Core i7 920 2.66ghz  ( cooled by Thermalright HR 01 plus )
    MSI Eclipse SLI – Beta BIOS 1.45
    MSI 8800gtx (well a bit old but still reliable)
    Team Extreme ddr3 1600 @ 8-8-8-25 rated 1.65V
    Western digital Raptor 74gb 16MB cache
    I tried setting up this board one last time on my  DIY open system  using the components above. And Good thing that my ever energetic and reliable  assistant is always there to help … hahahaha
    SPI Stock and 4Ghz OC  Results
    Stock =  15.313s
    4Ghz = 10.405s
    PC Mark 05 Stock and 4 Ghz OC Result
    Stock = 9745
    4Ghz = 13136
    3DMark 05 Stock and  4Ghz OC results
    Stock = 13388
    4Ghz = 14289
    3DMark vantage Stock and 4Ghz OC Results
    Stock = 8160 ( 33530 on CPU score )
    4Ghz = 8315 ( 43567 CPU score )
    Aquamark Stock and Overclock
    Stock = 131812 ( 18685 CPU score )
    4Ghz =  179261 ( 23139 CPU score )
    I tried playing with bclock  since I have seen people in several forum saying that their boards( not specific to MSi eclipse ) / i7 proc cannot go above 200 or maybe just above 200 bclock. After doing some tweak I was able to get 215 bclock and the max I was able to get is 218,  All the test that had been done are just after vista installation. No tweaks done  on windows.
    SPI = 10.343 ( 19 x 215 )
    SPI = 10.030s (  19 x 218 )
    Wrap-up / Conclusion
    I really don’t want to let this board go but I don’t have extra budget to buy and try new boards from other manufacturer so that I can compare the result. So right now I am stuck with selling this just to buy another x58 board (of which I will try to post a mini review soon)
    I did encounter IOH temperature issue when I first bought this motherboard. IOH temperature is at 65C and this still goes up while running benchmarking tests. I made minor modifications on the board and as far as I know, it did not void the warranty. Below are the modifications that I have made:
    1.   Removed the violet thermal paste that MSI used and replaced it with Artic Silver 5.
    2.   Removed the plastic pushpin and replaced it with a bolt and plastic nut.
    3.   Added a 40mmfan that is just enough to take out the heat from the IOH
    Guess what, the temperature after these is just below 55C even under benchmarking (done during night time and I would expect that this will go to probably 60 degrees during daytime given the tropical climate in the Philippines).
    I was able to overclock my i920 at 3.6ghz without even adjusting anything on the voltages. Meaning they are at stock settings!  I managed to reach 4.0 ghz by simply adding 0.040v (around 1.29 Vcore only)
    Pros
    -   Easy to overclock board
    -   Supports both SLI and crossfire
    -   No issue on bigger after market cooling
    -   90 degrees placement of ICH10’s sata port
    -   Server grade VRM’s and Capacitors used
    -   Creative Xfi included
    Cons
    -   Only one SLI bridge included. It would have been better if a tri SLI connector was given by MSi.
    -   IOH temp an issue for my board.  Need to monitor and maybe try my modifications.
    -   Power/Reset/DLED Switches location will not be accessible if a 3rd video card is installed.
    Other thoughts
    -   It would have been better if the BIOS of the eclipse comes with nominal values on the Cell Menu. This is to serve as guide for the users if they are trying to alter the voltages.
    -   Maybe swap the ide and the sata 7 to 10 ports?  It is better looking if all 10 sata ports are on 90 degrees. It will also ensure that even if you use 2 or 3 video cards, it will not hit any of the sata 7-10 cables if you use them.

    I can see you got your use out of it.   I hope the new owner tortures it, too!

  • MSI Eclipse with 12gb ram only posting 8gb (and other issues)

    I have several  issues with  my eclipse motherboard, the first problem has to do with RAM Dimm slot's AO, A1.
    PROBLEM 1
    A little back story on the situation, earlier today i adjusted my green power genie to max power cooling - it down clocked the voltage for the ram and cpu. after i installed some security updates for windows 7 i powered off the PC. I turned my computer back on 30 minutes later, i noticed a weird bios error message "previous overclock has failed, please reset your setting to default". I then reset the CMOS on the motherboard to undo the previous settings. I booted the PC up for a second time, then noticed the post screen with my system specs, had my ram at 8GB when i had 12GB installed. I then went into the bios(1.b)and pressed F5 to view my Ram total. It showed four slots posting 2gb per dimm except A0, A1.
    I went through the normal troubleshooting (removing the cards and HDD's, reseating ram in different dimm slots.. etc)
    I remove all ram except one 2gb stick. i reinstalled  the 2gb stick in the black dimm a0 slot and booted the system. it will power on, stays on for a minute and half then power cycle(reboot over and over). i then tired 1GB stick in the A0 slot, same problem. The system with boot in the other two black slots (B0, C0). the same problem is with the blue A1 slot as well.
    Could it be a bad board that i have? or is there something i'm missing.
    PROBLEM 2
    I have four cards that i want to use on my system, Two HD5770's in crossfire, my sound blaster XFI Fatl1ty Champion in the first (PCI-E x1 slot) and my TV tuner in the first PCI x8 slot. the problem is getting them all to work at the same time. if i install all of them together the system will not get past the black windows screen(it freezes). if i use a combination of the three, the system will boot up with no problem.
    Anybody in the forums with an eclipse able to use four cards and crossfire at the same time?
    Could i have a bad motherboard?
    What is RMA? is it a replacement or repair?
    I NEED HELP!!!!

    Have you tested each of them individually? What are you setting the RAM speed & timings at? Unless your running Photoshop or similar heavy apps., 12G RAM is a negative IMHO.
    nothing really heavy, but i do multi-task and have a lot of apps/ games/ benchmarking going on at once.  firefox uses a lot of ram on its own. i have around five sets of 3 (2 sets 6gb and 3 sets of 3gb) and none of them work in the a1, a0 dimm slots. the memory controller probably burned out. i dont see how that can happen as i dont overclock regularly.

    Other thoughts. What is the current bios version?
    - i updated to 1.11(1.b)
    Quote
    Does the board support 1.5G TB HDD's?
    Yes - i believe so, the bio's recognize all 4.5tb

    More voltage is needed more than likely to the CPU, QPI, RAM, IOH, & ICH or a combination thereof rather than using a utility that is trying to reduce it. You have a lot of stuff to power up.
      it only down clocked the cpu to core 0.00v/qpi 0.00v, PPL voltage  1.6v and memory to 1.65v , IOH to 1.02, ICH 1.35v
    Quote
    If this is a brand spanky new build, it may be best to establish a stable system in a bare bones configuration, & then add components making any note of any areas that may need a power boost or settings adjustment. To sum it up, CPU has developed a problem, RAM is faulty, board DIMM slots have become faulty, bent socket pins, voltage distribution is faulty or needs tweaking.
    i have done most of your suggestions, but all of my test is pointing to a faulty motherboard. i mean the board has 7 pci slots of which 3 work when in crossfire. the x-fi sound card that came with the board came doa, so i should have been more cautious from the beginning and returned it to newegg then. now i am going to have to RMA the board and be without it for close to a month.  its frustrating

  • PC shuts down or reboots spontaneously (MSI Eclipse SLI)

    Starting a new thread to avoid totally hijacking another thread talking about almost the same symptoms here.
    My original post:

    I get this same situation.. except the event viewer doesnt state anything.
    The system is not bluescreening.. it just hardware powers down and reboots.
    I get the same message as the original poster as well, it is very annoying as it often happens in the middle of doing something.
    I wonder if it could be thermal related to the high IOH temps on the board (often 80-85C, but not sure what happens to them in the middle of playing a game)? Is there any way to log the temperatures to a file so I can check what they were at the time of the crash?
    I get this issue whether I change the default bios settings or not. Ive got a 920 on my eclipse board, my CPU temps are below 30C under load. System temp is about 27C.
    What can I do?
    The following replies:

    That's way too high, even for 100% load.  Reinstall the heatsink.
    Quote from: Smoke on 05-April-09, 20:46:53
    It is? I found another thread on this forum where it was mentioned that intel and msi said the IOH runs hot and to expect temps up to 100C. How do I go about changing the manufacturers heatsink on a board? Ive never done that before and cant find any procedural help thru google...
    Ive been able to replicate the issue by running ram up to high usage. When I get above 98% ram allocation, I spontaneously reboot. So It could be a ram issue as well. Of would that be something possible IOH related as well?

    smoke,
    Can you list out your full system spec and PSU spec?
    System Spec:
    Core i7 920 w/ TRUE 120
    MSI eclipse SLI (bios 1.4)
    6x 1gb corsair 1866mhz rated ram sticks (TR3X3G1866C9DF)
    1500w thermaltake psu
    galaxy gtx295 in the primary x16 pci-e slot
    MSI eclipse soundcard in the 1st pci-e x1 slot
    4x 1tb samsung 'UJ' hdd (raid 5)
    O/S (= old winxp 32 bit until I get hold of a 64 bit os) running on 128gb PQI SSD
    lg bluray burner
    All the drives are sata2 and running on the ICHIOR ports.
    For bios settings Ive got the optimised defaults with spread spectrum off and turbo boost on. Once its table then I will OC, but for now its not stable at the baseline yet.
    Temp info:
    IOH temps are as I said, around 80 at startup but rise to at least 87 under load, but not really much further that Ive seen.
    CPU temps are very low with the dual-fan TRUE 120 heatsink. I havet seen it go above 35C with a reasonably heavy processing load. Usually sits about 0-2C above ambient at most when idle.
    System temps get to about 40 under load, or around 27-35 under regular usage, but Im not quite sure what thats measuring the temp of on the board.
    The issue is very frustrating but somewhat intermittent - I can go two days without a crash but then get several in a row. I wasnt previously paying attention to my usage at the time tho so I dont remember what I was doing when it crashed that I wasnt doing when it was fine. I have been able to replicate the crash/reboot/shutdown symptom by running multiple memory intensive apps and loading the ram up to just on the 2.99gb mark (the most winxp 32 bit will 'see') and it goes down. No blue screen though.. its a hardware issue not software I am pretty sure.
    [edit] Updated the ram part number to be correct.

    ok, should I label this possibly as solved?
    I followed MSI's advice and checked through on drivers. Ive got totally up to date drivers, but nvidia just put out a .5  driver update (i mean, its increased the driver version by .50) and so I updated to that. I still got a sft reboot on testing, so no real joy.
    THEN, I did the big change MSI asked me to do - Ive successfully brought my system up to bios 1.5B3 and pow, massive improvements all round!
    Intelburntest runs perfectly now, no crash, no reboot, no errors of any kind. All residuals match. No memory errors. Memtest86 2.11 runs smooth as silk without errors either. PCmark runs out a basic benchmark of almost 19000 (about 3000, or 18.75%, more than the std core i7 920 benchmark without OC'ing) and looks great. Couldnt get that to run previously either.
    The previous methods which 100% of the time would replicate the soft reboot of the system now no longer do so at all (i.e. 0% of the time yet) and for that matter I have not been able to get the box to fall over AT ALL since the new bios.
    I have the same temps on cpu/ioh/system as I did previously. I recall for the same clock speed the cpu was putting out something well under 20 gigaflops... now its a solid 28. I didnt even realise that was a symptom of anything wrong, else the bios does some amazing extras.
    I should note, Im only now using the 'optimised defaults' setting thru the bios. No overclock at all yet.
    I'd love to know what MSI changed from 1.4 to 1.5B3, but whatever it was.. it does appear to have solved my issues. I wont say that conclusively just yet, but I cant bring the system to a crash no matter what I try now where it was rather easy to blow it over with a quiet whistle before.
    Other things Ive noted is that the page file now seems to be actively utilised. Ive pushed it at load up to almost 3gb where before the bios update I was struggling to see 400mb used. Not sure if that was part of it, but if you get simiar issues go straight to MSI and see about getting hold of the 1.5B3 bios or later.
    To quickly address the recent replies:
    1) Ive got to agree with HU16E with my ram. I have no trouble running at the 1333 JDEC spec. And I feel very positive about now being able to achieve the XMP spec with this new bios.
    2) Thanks for the link Aaron. I did end up using the USB flash method from this forum. Worked perfectly. Chalk up another success story!
    3) I did try to swap out the ssd last night, but the system kept soft rebooting while installing the OS on the spin drive. SO I gave up. Seems the ssd isnt a drawback under the new bios tho (assuming it even was a cause earlier).
    4) Ive DL'ed the x64 windows 7 beta and I'll likely as not have a shot installing that and refitting the extra 3gb ram back into the system. I'll let you know how it goes. Theoretically 6x1gb sticks should be as much as 15-20% faster than 3x 2gb sticks (and were about that much cheaper for me at time of purchase) but I'll run some benchmarks now that the benchmarks work and let you know the differences in case anyone wants to build their box the same way.
    Conclusion:
    I'll stress the system over a bit for the next few days without overclocking and I'll see if I can bring the system to reboot like it did previously through high usage, and if I cant I'll change the thread to solved and write out a proper solution post for the problem, symptoms and solution.
    Id like to take the opportunity to say thanks to all the guys who've given me help and advice. Youve all been really great. Thanks a bundle! I owe you one

    That doesn't look good, there is known issues with Cooler Masters PSUs...{same versions},

    Coolermaster is out of my PSU recommendation due compatibility issue,
    but even fixed there are better options like listed above Corsair, PC&Power and Cooling, OCZ {Single rail beasts}:

    The Cooler Master has been working just fine for more than a year with a ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus and an Intel Q6600. The Antec P450 works fine there too. So why should I believe you (no disrespect intended)? What is the specific grounding issue with the Cooler Master? Can you give me a URL to the issue at their support site?
    Thanks.

    3. Test other PSU (We don't have one.)
    Please test another PSU.  There are some serious grounding issues with Cooler Master Power Supplies that cause problems on many systems.  Here is a small list auf case:

    das Problem tritt mit dem neuem Netzteil (Taga BZ 900W) nicht mehr auf. Es läuft nun alles einwandfrei. Scheint fast so, als sei das NT von Cooler Master nicht kompatibel mit dem Mainboard.

I am able to power it on with some generic 500w PSU and my girlfriend's Silverstone 850w PSU, but it always fails to power up when I plug the Cooler Master PSU in.

    Just FYI though, it appears (by some comments on Newegg.com) that there is some compatibility issue between my CoolerMaster Real Power Pro 750W and the P35 Neo2-FR motherboard.  The power supply worked fine by itself, and the motherboard ended up working fine with a different power supply (Antec Neopower 650 Blue).

    VISTA ULTIMATE x64BIT
    The problem i seem to have recurring is a failed MSI ECLIPSE mobo!!
    I have had 3 MSI ECLIPSE mobo's all RMA'D from supplier.
    I have never messed with updating the bios with any of the boards.
    The 1st board just wouldn't boot,after phone calls to suppliers tech dept RMA 1.
    The 2nd board ran fine for 3 months then suddenly on startup the PC booted then switched off then rebooted.Contacted MSI TECH who emailed me instructions & told if thet failed to contact supplier.
    So phone to supplier RMA 2.
    This current board has run for 3 weeks fine.Then 3 days ago (& again today!) on boot got message CMOS DATA WRONG F1 TO RESET DATA.
    Has anyone experienced a similar problem please??
    The supplier has agreed another RMA but i cannot keep going through this!
    I am considering the BIOSTAR TPOWER X58A.

    Problem:-
    I install a fresh windows xp64-bit.And installed driver,s in my drive no software no application.
    when my computer power on.my mobo display and then a white-bar came after they complete then window load.
    my friend laughing on CORE i7 :O(
    (Because on core2quad pc or normal P4 PC no white bar came during starting windows

    So what is the problem? Windows isnt booting at all? It hangs on the 'white bar' ?
    If your comment is that you see the white bar and your mate doesnt it could be because of many reasons. I see it on my core i7 on the cold boot, but not on the warm reboot / system restart. Ive got an ssd and you'd think it would boot quick.. and it does once the system has figured out where the swap space is on the drive. I dont notice the x58 chipset being any slower than other current pc's. MSI's boards do seem to do a few more checks for system integrity on startup than other manufacturers but this isnt a bad thing.
    Um.. so is there a problem or is this an observation about the white bar?

    I agree with Jack try starting it with just one stick in the proper slot.  Then check out the user manual to make sure you are using compatible RAM.
