MSIE won't download JNLP from SSL site

I've written a JNLP file that downloads fine in the following cases (all are on my XP box):
-Firefox 1.5+, unsecured
-Firefox 1.5+, secure over SSL
-MSIE 6.0, unsecured
As noted elsewhere I had to ensure that the JNLP was always downloaded as an attachment for it to initially work on MSIE:
response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=...")However, the SSL site on MSIE always gives me a dialog box with the following warning:
"Internet Explorer cannot download LaunchSPT.jnlp? from xyz.com.
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later"
(Note that the question mark is NOT in my code or my URL!)
Why does MSIE prevent the SSL download of my JNLP files? I have reduced the security permissions via the options menu item but to no avail.

The documents in question are my monthly insurance statement from USAA. I have always been able to download them before with no difficulty. I installed the latest update to Adobe Acrobat Reader, but still no luck. The document appeared only partially, but froze. I assumed the document from USAA was corrupted until I logged in using Google Chrome and the problem disappeared. Probably will use that browser going forward unless I can hear something that explains this.

Only seems to happen on financial sites. I use xp sp3 on lenovo thinkpad t61.
E.g., to download a pdf statment from Wells, I open the statment and then try to save it, but no option to save it. Called bank, they say to use Internet Explorer - that works. With IE I can right click on the file and then use "Save as" or I can open the file and "Save a copy". Can't do eaither of these w Firefox 19.0.2. I don't think that this used to be a problem. This is not a problem with all pdf files from all sites.

Firefox has a new built in pdf viewer, and whilst this has been released it is still undergoing development, with bug fixes due and further features likely to be added.
I do not notice any named pdf reading plugin in your system details, but you may need to consider using a third party pdf reader for now:
*When you open the pdf s do you see any Firefox warning information bar at the top edge of the document, or any warning with in the pdf itself about incompatibility and using another viewer ? <br/> see also

There is a possibility sites or pdfs may be faulty, and that advice given may not be the best. Please give links to any faqs etc publicly posted by banks relating to pdf use, and the web address of the banks are having problems with.
One of the problems with the Firefox viewer is fixed in the firefox Beta channel and possibly in an add-on you could consider trying those.

Documents won't download completely from web site

Documents attempting to download from my insurer's website won't complete. Document loads partially in the Adobe window that opens, but a circular stats bar opens in the second page and the document won't finish.

What type of file? From what site? What Apps have you downloaded for it?

Unable to download document from HTTPS site in ADF

Hi ADF Experts,
I have a critical issue in ADF application. While clicking on hyperlink for download a document ,i am getting following error:
"unable to download home from "<HTTPS SITE NAME>" The link is having HTTPS.
This problem is occurring in i.e 8, It's working fine in i.e 9.
Please suggest me with some solution.

have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling Nokia Browser from http://download.browser.ovi.com ? also try the same with Opera at http://m.opera.com Also check that you are fully up to date with your phone firmware by using Nokia Suite to check for any firmware updates.

IPhoto won't download photos from camera.

iPhoto won't download photos from camera. iMac 10.6.8; iPhoto updated. No Name comes up, says "downloading," but color wheel only goes round and round. I've let it go on for 20" to no avail. Only way to get out of iPhoto then is to Force Quit. Tried downloading pictures through a Card Reader with same results.
Same camera, same procedure for last 5 years and never had this problem. Thanks for any advice.

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder:
User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Help: contacts won't download/sync from Mobile Me to iPhone?

My new iPhone won't download old contacts from MobileMe. It will sync any new contacts or calendar event I add to either the iPhone or Mobile Me, but not the existing ones.
Basically, I bought my first iPhone a couple of days ago. I just followed the prompts and ended up sync'ing it with gmail as well as pulling all the contacts off my old SIM and phone. But I ended up with lots of duplicate contacts. So I set up a Mobile Me account and uploaded all the contacts from the iPhone, no problems. Then I cleaned up all my contacts on Mobile Me, got rid of duplicates etc.
Then I reset my iPhone to clear all data so I could start afresh (I've only had it a day or two so there wasn't much to lose). I thought I would be able to easily pull all the nice, clean contacts down from the cloud. But the only contacts that will sync are new ones, not the old ones.
If I add a contact on Mobile Me, it downloads to the iPhone. If I add a new contact on the iPhone, it uploads to Mobile Me. But the hundreds of old contacts I have amassed over many years and many different mobile phones are stuck in the cloud and won't come down!
All these contacts only ended up on Mobile Me after being sent from my iPhone, so not sure why it won't take them back.
I'm on a PC. I have sync'd the iPhone with iTunes since I reset it. And I have downloaded the latest version of the iPhone OS since I reset the phone. I have tried turning off all sync'ing and then turning it on again - the iPhone asked if I wanted to merge data, I said yes, but it didn't download any of the old contacts.
Obviously sync works, but why won't it get my old contacts?!
The only thing I haven't tried is resetting all sync data - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1497. However, how can I back up my Mobile Me data before I erase it? I didn't think my Mobile Me contacts would sync with a PC?

Turn off contacts in MobileMe on the iPhone and choose keep contacts on the iPhone
Connect iPhone to iTunes and enable sync contacts to Windows Address Book or Outlook 2003 or higher. Now there should be a copy of the contact on the computer.
Make sure you have installed and configured the MobileMe control panel on your computer. And set it up to sync contacts. Choose the best copy(Cloud or Computer)for the initial sync(can be from Cloud to computer or computer to cloud).

Once the computer and Cloud have the correct info then slide contacts back to on within the Mail Contacts Calendars on the iPhone and choose replace iPhone with info from the Cloud.
Uncheck Sync Contact with computer within iTunes on Info tab(if you do not then you will get duplicates).

Cannot download statements from financial sites

Since downloading Adobe Reader's latest version, I am unable to download statements from internet banking/credit card sites. They require Adobe Reader.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, gone back to older version that used to work to no avail. One bank told me to use Foxfire rather than IE, but that has not helped. All I get is a pop-up message:
"! There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (523:523)"
Exiting and restarting the program does not help.
Someone suggested I have a problem with a Windows 8 driver, however this problem has persisted since my hard drive crashed and I had to install new hardware & software.
It's interesting that many other (non-financial) sites allow me to download PDF documents using different non-Adobe software.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Does that website provide you with a direct link to the PDF (rather than a php or javascript)? If so, try downloading the PDF to your local disk, then open it from there.

WAP = HTTP. Just open a http page in midp and read the data. Displaying WAP in MIDP is another thing, since it does not have facilities for that. Why should it anyway? All phones that hava java, already have a W(AP/EB) browser.

If you want to use/download the image present in another webDynpo component, then select the image under the mime folder in the WebDynpro component and right click on the image and select Upload / DownLoad >> DownLoad.
Download the image in to local directory.
Then right click on the webdynpro component where we want this image to be uploaded. click on Create >> MIME object >> Import and select the image which we downloaded to the local system, a pop up appears click on save button.
Once we uploaded the image in to the WebDynpro component an entry named MIMEs appears, we can see the image under the mime's.
