MTS problem nttbnd2addr: using host IP address: 0.0.0.0

Hi All. I am trying to put Oracle to multi-threaded server (MTS) mode. The Oracle is “Oracle8 Enterprise Edition Release 8.0.6.2.0” running on Sun Solaris 2.6 (SunOS 5.8 Generic_108528-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-4). Connection by IPC protocol works, but when I try to connect by TCP I get “ORA-12221: TNS:illegal ADDRESS parameters”. If put parameter (SERVER= DEDICATED) into connection option in tnsnames.ora file connection is OK.

Looks like a bug to me. Culprit seems to be:
May be Oracle support can help. BTW, why still on Oracle8? Hasn't Oracle stopped supporting it? Have you tried Metalink?
</quote>
Actually, I also think that it’s bug. Everything works fine with Oracle 8.0.5 and 9i only this old Oracle has problem. Still 8.0.6 because nobody care this Oracle for several years, I just come and not reinstalled it yet.
I have not found such problem in metalink

  • Problem using HOST

    Hi Folks.
I am running a form module that iterates through a bunch of e-mail addresses. For each address it creates a list of associated invoices. It then zips the invoices and emails them out to the current e-mail address.
Currently this process if for about 150 e-mail addresses. Each of them is supposed to have their own invoices only.
The problem I have is that the .zip file is not being overwritten by the process so I decided to put in the following call using HOST...
    PROCEDURE kill_old_zip_pu_p IS
    v_host_command           VARCHAR2(100);
    BEGIN
    v_host_command := 'del \\ALDER\d$\FCSS\DB_SCRIPTS\invoices.zip';
    HOST (v_host_command, NO_SCREEN);
    IF NOT Form_Success THEN
         Message('Zip not deleted');
    END IF;
    END;
The program unit is called before the new zip file is created. The theory being that, having deleted the file, there will be no doubt that the newly created file will contain only the invoices I have selected for it.
The problem I have is that the above code does not actually delete the requested file.
I have supplied, in this example, the full network path name. If I enter this command on the client or the server in the MS_DOS prompt window it executes perfectly.
I can't help feeling there is some little thing I am missing.
    Can anyone help?
    Many thanks
    Simon Gadd

Perhaps a problem with blanks in your filename?
    We are using
    HOST('CMD /C "DEL /F '||l_file_name||'"', NO_SCREEN);,
    which works perfect on Win2000.

  • I have two Iphones with different email addresses sharing one Apple ID. Will that cause problems with using messaging and FaceTime?

I have two Iphones 5 with different email addresses sharing one Apple ID account. Both are using IOS 8.
I would like to set up a new Apple Id for one of the phones and remove it from the old account.
If I do that, can I move all of the purchased apps and songs to the new Apple account?
Also, will sharing one Apple ID account with two devices cause problems with using messaging and FaceTime?

Sharing an iCloud account between two devices can be done without causing issues with iMessage and FaceTime, just go into Settings for each of these functions and designate separate points of contact (i.e. phone number only, or phone number and unique email address).  While that works, you'll then face the problem where a phone call to one iPhone will ring both if on the same Wi-Fi network -- but again, that can be avoided by changing each phone's settings.
Rather than do all that, don't fight it -- use separate IDs for iCloud.  You can still use a common ID for iTunes purchases (the ID for purchases and iCloud do not have to be the same) or you can use Family Sharing to share purchases from a primary Apple account.

  • Axis Problem while using Quick Address

The qas.proweb package is a third party code in a jar file imported in the Project developed in Netweaver and it compiles and executes fine but this is the error it gives us in the log, showing some problem with the connexion. This qas.proweb runs by using SOAP and probably the problem will be some compatibility issue with this in the Portal.
The code used in the JSPDynPAge to acces qas.proweb is the same as the one working in a Java program with a main method requesting data against the same machine.
It could be some issue with axis and the SAP Portal.
What do you think about this error??
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    Raúl.

I solved the problem by installing only the JAva part, without the ABAP part.

  • Email problem when typing in email addresses using Mail on the iPhone 3G

    Hi,
I have a problem whilst typing in email addresses into the Mail App To: field. Basically, what's happening is this.
When I first got the phone, I was using a Hotmail account as well as a Googlemail account which I had going through the Mail App, my hotmail address was used for work so on occassions, I would email my Hotmail account from the Mail App on my phone.
The problem I have is that I now have a new Hotmail account and when I start to type the address into the To: field in Mail App, it still shows my old Hotmail account address rather than the one I am now using. I only now send to the new Hotmail address so I thought that it would replace the old one when I start typing the address in the To: field.
Has anyone else found this at all? It's rather annoying as everytime, I have to type the whole address even though I have sent many recently and never send to the old Hotmail address anymore but the old address comes up as soon as I start to type the new address.
Can anyone please help me on this?
    Many Thanks,
    Adam

Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them.  You will always be asked for the password associated with this ID when updating apps, regardless of whether or not you are using this ID for current purchases.  The only way to stop this is to delete the old apps from your phone and iTunes and repurchase them with your current ID.
Edit: to change the ID used for future purchases on your phone, go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using the new ID.  As explained above, you will still be prompted with the old ID when updating apps purchase with the older ID.

I used to have a podcast that had been accepted on Itunes, but my I began to have problems with my host, so I changed host and created a new podcast, and I submitted my new podcast, Apple refused, and now says the feed has already been submitted? Maybe Itunes thought that I was someone trying to copy my old podcast because I kept the same name, I tried to change the names but it looks like I'm on a blocked list...

There is a procedure for changing the feed URL for a podcast, which it seems you haven't followed: you have to add a special tag to the old feed - just submitting a new feed will have exactly the effect you describe. The proper method is described here:

  • How to use HOST call DOS continuous running problem but NOT hold Forms scre

In my Forms, I have a Button a start a MP3 recorder program to record voice, I use HOST command to init the program successfully. However, since the MP3 recorder program in continuous running, the HOST command hold my Forms screen until the MP3 program stop.
I have try to use Open_form to open another form to start this MP3 program. It still hold the whole Forms system.
Is there any solution to start a continuous running DOS program but NOT hold the Forms screen?
    Thank You !

You didn't provide your host-command, so i simply guess its something like
HOST('"c:\Program Files\mp3.exe" someoptions');instead of calling the program directly, you could use a commadn batch along with the start-command, for this should launch the program asynchronously:
    HOST('cmd /c start "c:\Program Files\mp3.exe" someoptions');hope this helps.

  • Problems in using database link

    Hi all,
I have problems in using the following created database link:
    Name: fzanalyze
    User: fzanalyze
    PWD: xxx
    Host: fz.domain.com
I get the following error message, if I try to start this select:
    select * from tab@fzanalyze;
    FEHLER in Zeile 1:
    ORA-12154: TNS:Couldn't resolve service name
The problem, the TNS is correct, because I copied the hoststring from the tnsnames.ora. Also I can connect to the database by using the given hostname as follows:
    connect fzanalyze/[email protected]
    connected
What could be the problem, the I get the tns-Error, although I can connect normal to the database??
    Thanks for helping
    Dana

    Dana,
Unlike Kamal, I don't use SQLNET anymore (isn't it obsolete from 8i+?), so I don't have any sqlnet.ora on my client or server.
I'm not really a sysop, so no clever thoughts behind the following ideas, I just use these for development purposes at home:
IP range at home = 192.168.x.x segment (another router server connects to the internet)
Oracle server computer name = dbserver.seinpost.nl (local address = 192.168.1.110)
instance entry in $TNS_ADMIN/listener.ora @ server:
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = inst04.seinpost.nl)
          (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1)
          (SID_NAME = inst04)
)instance entry in $TNS_ADMIN/tnsnames.ora @ server:
    INST04.SEINPOST.NL =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = dbserver.seinpost.nl)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVICE_NAME = inst04.seinpost.nl)
)instance entry in tnsnames.ora @ client:
    INST04 =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS =
            (PROTOCOL = TCP)
              (HOST = 192.168.1.110)
                (PORT = 1521)
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVICE_NAME = inst04.seinpost.nl)
)So again, no sqlnet.ora and as you can see only on my client I use local IP addresses to prevent my client for searching the internet for the non-existing dbserver.seinpost.nl address
    Hope this helps,
    Michiel

  • Windows 7 VM has DNS Problem When Using Wireless

    Hello All,
I've been fighting this virtual machine networking problem for over a week now. If anyone has a well-informed suggestion (not a guess) I would appreciate hearing about it.
Here's the problem in a nutshell and then I'll give more details: I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) as my primary (i.e., host) OS. I'm running Windows 7 Home Professional (32 bit) as the guest OS in "Windows Virtual PC" (note that this is *not* the same as "Virtual PC 2007"). If I configure the VM to use my host's wired Ethernet connection, the guest OS can always see the machines on my local network and can always reach the Internet just fine. On the other hand, if I configure the VM to use only my host's wireless connection then the guest OS can still see machines on my local network but CANNOT reach the Internet, except very intermittently (e.g., for maybe 1-2 minutes every hour or so).
I've tried to anticipate the questions you might ask so here is some additional information:
The computer is a Lenovo W500 laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. The wireless network adapter is an "Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN".
My Internet connection is via AT&T DSL using a wire2 wireless modem/router.
I have all the updates from Microsoft and Lenovo for this machine. It is 100% up to date with the latest patches and drivers.
I'm running the 64-bit version (or at least I used the 64 bit installer) of "Windows Virtual PC" which I downloaded  from this link.
I am *not* running and I did not download "XP Mode".
When the guest OS loses it's connection to the Internet the following message appears in the Windows Event Log:
"Name resolution for the name address.yahoo.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded."
I am able to ping an external machines outside my network but only if I use the IP address. If I specify the host name it cannot be resolved.
ARE YOU GETTING THE IMPRRESSION THIS IS A DNS PROBLEM??? It looks like I do not have access to a DNS when using the host's wireless connection.
On the host OS, the "Virtual PC Network Filter Driver" *IS* installed and selected under my "Wireless Network Connection Properties" settings.
Below are the results of running ipconfig on the guest OS and then the host OS. Note that I am able to ping 192.168.1.254 from the host OS but not from the guest OS. I think this is the crux of the problem.
Here's what I get from an ipconfig /all executed on the guest OS:

    Hello,
I am not very familiar wth Microsoft Security Essentials, but believe that it just makes use of the existing Windows Firewall which is present with the operating system.
To me it is odd that the guest OS reports 192.168.1.254 as the IP address for its gateway and DHCP server yet it cannot access them when pinged.  Let's try pinging from host to guest (and vice-versa)  and see what happens:
From the host OS at 192.168.1.78, try pinging the guest OS at 192.168.1.75.
Then, from the guest OS at 192.168.1.75, trying ping the host OS at 192.168.1.78.
Is each operating system able to ping each other?

  • Problem about using Oracle Form 6i to connect Oracle Database 10g express.

Sorry to interrupt all of you.
I have encountered a problem about using Oracle Form 6i to connect Oracle Database 10g express.
    As I would like to
I use Oracle Net8 Easy Config to create a connection.
    According to "tnsnames.ora", the paramater of connection is as follows;
    XE =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = XE))
Unfortunately, when I use Oracle Net8 Easy Config to test the connection, an error message is prompted as follows:
    Connecting....
    The test did not succeed.
ORA-03106: fatal two-task communication protocol error
There may be an error in the fields entered
or the server may not be ready for a connection.
You can check the server and retry, or continue.
After I google it, I still have no idea how to solve the problem. I would like to ask, could anyone mind providing some hints or solution to address the issues.
Thanks for your assistance in advance.

I don't believe the Net8 Easy Config (NEC) will create a compatible entry in the tnsnames.ora. I have Forms 6i running successfully against a 10g Express database, but I did not use the NEC - I created the entry myself. Here is the entry I use:
    XE=
      (DESCRIPTION=
        (ADDRESS=
          (PROTOCOL=TCP)
          (HOST=<<servername or IP address>>)
          (PORT=1521)
        (CONNECT_DATA=
          (SERVER=dedicated)
          (SERVICE_NAME=XE)
      )Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)
If someone's response is helpful or correct, please mark it accordingly.

  • What impact is there on ODSEE (11.1.1.3) if host IP address changes?

We are upgrading hardware and DS software.
First we install ODSEE on a new host. Then we migrate the Directory schema and data from iPlanet 5.1 to ODSEE 11.1.1.3 on the new host.
What we would like to do next is to change the ODSEE host's IP number back to the original iPlanet's host's IP address.
What problems are there in ODSEE if/when host IP address changes?

As long as the directory server is able to use a constant host name and FQDN, it should not matter that the IP address for that host changes. You are well advised to test before doing it in production but I do not consider this to be a problem.

  • Proxy problem while using pkgbuild..

    Hi all,
I was trying to makepkg a certain theme. When I was in my college I used a certain proxy...but at home I have dhcp. I have edited rc.conf accordingly and I can browse the web. I can also use pacman to install stuff. However makepkg(or rather wget) still thinks I am using my college proxy..

  • XE connection problem after using Cisco AnyConnect Client

    Hello
I have a rather annoying problem connecting to an XE instance AFTER I have disconnected from a VPN via a Cisco AnyConnect VPN Agent.
    Sequence of operations:
    - start Oracle XE and work normally
    - connect to client's vpn
    - do other stuff
    - DISCONNECT from Client's VPN
-> unable to connect to XE service any more, unless I reboot
The problem does not happen with other vpn clients like Cisco VPN Service, Juniper, Checkpoint.
    Details:
    - sqlplus connection WITH service name (eg sqlplus user/pwd@XE): FAILURE with ORA-12170
    - but...sqlplus connection WITHOUT service name (eg sqlplus user/pwd): SUCCESS (weird !)
    - tnsping XE: TNS-12535 error
    - lsnrctl status output (sorry, italian localized)

  • HT204053 I have an iPhone 4S and the new Apple TV, both setup with my email as the Apple ID.  I gave my wife an iPad 3 and set it up using her email address as the Apple ID.  Is a second iTumes Match subscription required for her to use our music from iCl

I have an iPhone 4S and the latest Apple TV, both setup with my email address as the Apple ID.  I subscribed to iTunes Match so our music could be played from iCloud.  I gave my wife an iPad 3 and set it up using her email address as the Apple ID.  When I try to turn on iMatch so she can play our music from iCloud on her new iPad it tells me that she needs a subscription to iTunes Match.  Is it Apple's intent that we would need two iTunes Match subscriptions?  If not, how do I accomplish what I want to get done?

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
    and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
    and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.
(See also: Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895)
