Mulitple taskflows in a page

Hi All,
I am having a page where multiple taskflows are getting used. Each task flow getting displayed depending on the respective button clicked.
I am able to achieve this. But the problem is if there is any error(custom exception) in any of the taskflows I am not able to navigate to other taskflow screens.
Even though any error in taskflow(any custom exception) How to achieve to navigate to other taskflows?
Regards
Steve

How are you handling the exceptions ? Are you using any exception handler ...
What sort of custom Exception do you get... Whats the scope of the taskflows you use.
Also which version of Jdev ?

    Hi,
    I think the error message is clear:
    +The expression "#{bindings.servicesBTF2.regionModel}" (that was specified for the RegionModel "value" attribute of the region component with id "r2") evaluated to null.+
    +This is typically due to an error in the configuration of the objects referenced by this expression.+
    +If it helps, the expression "#{bindings.servicesBTF2}" evaluates to "null".+
    +If it helps, the expression "#{bindings}" evaluates to "com_syniverse_entprov_iotdms_view_agreementDetailsPageDef". Now using an empty RegionModel instead.+
    Have you checked the configuration in the parent page PageDef file (the page that launches the popup)?

  • Loading mulitple Adobe Flash web pages makes mouse cursor disappear

    I have a 2011 Mac Mini with OSX 10.7 Lion Server
    Regardless of the Browser used  - if I load mulitple Adobe Flash based Flickr photo slide show web pages, after 15 seconds my Mouse Cursor completely disappears and makes navigating the mac rather impossible.
    Its really buggy and forces me to click or "right click" (Option Click) randomly on the Desktop with the hope that I might briefly see the cursor return so I can close the browsers.
    Does not matter if i use Safari, Firefox or Chrome.
    These are the pages in question which give me grief -
    http://www.flickr.com/groups/warbirds/pool/with/8032123616/lightbox/
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/fluxstreamcommunication/show/
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/x-ray_delta_one/show/
    must click the "play " to start the slide show, have all three running at the same time.
    And withing 10 seconds on my mac mini - NO Curser.
    Even if I try to move the mouse outside the Browser display area  - to where i clairvoyantly might consider the cursor should be over the Desktop.
    Typically results in the invisible cursor accidently creating numerous new folders on the desktop, as I frantically attempt to make the cursor re-appear.
    Totally maddening - and I have the Identical problem on Two separate 2011 Macs. (iMac 27 and Mac Mini)
    My local  Apple Genius Bar support person suggested I back up my data and perform  "OSX Recovery"
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
    Stating its possble that my Adobe Flash was installed wrong.
    I have the latest updates
    OSX 10.7.4
    Flash Version 11.4.402.265

    Update.
    This solved the problem
    My local  Apple Genius Bar support person suggested this sequence and it fixed my disappearing cursor!
    1) Back Up personal Data
    2) Perform "OSX Recovery"
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
    3) Perform the Apple Software update
    4) Then install latest Adobe Flash
    This fixed my problem!
    Now I'll do the same fix for my 2011 iMac 27" with the identical issue.

  • Error using a taskflow inside a page fragment

    Hi,
    I am using a taskflow with a region in a jspx and it works.
    But when I put the region in a page fragment, and then call the page fragment from the jspx I get the following error:
    <Sep 13, 2012 8:39:07 AM PDT> <Warning> <oracle.adf.view.rich.component.fragment.UIXRegion> <BEA-000000> <
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: The expression "#{bindings.processViewerTaskflow1.regionModel}" (that was specified for the RegionModel "value" attribute of the region component with id "r1") evaluated to null.
    This is typically due to an error in the configuration of the objects referenced by this expression.
    If it helps, the expression "#{bindings.processViewerTaskflow1}" evaluates to "null".
    If it helps, the expression "#{bindings}" evaluates to "null". Now using an empty RegionModel instead.

    What is wrong ?
    Thanks

    Hi Pablo
    Frank already mentioned clearly in his post. I just want to share some useful links. First start with the link, like What to use When. And see the section where it clearly says we cannot share the data between the parent and its child adf region having JSFF and vice versa. This is achieved using Parameters Map etc.
    What to use When - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/testcontent/adfregioninteraction-155145.html
    Fixed - http://www.baigzeeshan.com/2010/04/creating-pages-with-regions-in-oracle.html
    Dynamic - http://www.baigzeeshan.com/2010/06/working-with-dynamic-regions-in-oracle.html

  • Showing document and document explorer taskflow in same page

    Hi all,
    I am using webcenter portal 11.1.1.8
    I want to show document explorer taskflow and same content in same window.When user will select any document, same document will display in below.How to achieve this?

    See if the following doc helps you to render the document inside document explorer taskflow :

  • Printing mulitple tabs without getting Page Setup & Print dialogue boxes

    I am using Forms 6.0.5.2. I have a form with 7 tabs and I need to be able to have a Print All button that prints a screen image of each tab. I have tried programming a trigger that executes a GO_BLOCK('a'); print; GO_BLOCK('b'); print; etc etc. While this will work, it is not user friendly as it prompts the user with the "Print" dialogue box (to select which printer to print to) and then the "Print Capture beginning. Don't move or occlude window until done" diaglogue box every time the print command is executed. Is anyone aware of a way to have these dialogue boxes come up only the first time the print command is issued and to be suppressed afterwards?

    It's relatively easy to setup a series of questions and capture the results via display dialog, for example:
    set bleedVal to text returned of (display dialog "Enter the required bleed:" default answer "0" buttons {"OK"} default button 1)
    set bleed to bleedVal
    You can even do fancy things like:
    set orientationVal to button returned of (display dialog "Enter the required bleed:" buttons {"Landscape", "Portrait"} default button "Portrait")
    set orientation to orientationVal
    or:
    set paperSize to (choose from list {"A3", "A4", "B3", "B4"} with prompt "choose a paper size" default items "A3") as text
    set paper size to paperSize
    Note that you may want to perform some input validation on the value entered to make sure that users don't enter inappropriate values such as "0" for the enlargement/reduction ratio, or "none" for bleed values, etc.

  • Common Error page in Taskflow

    Hi All,
    Jdeveloper : 11.1.1.6
    Usecase:
    I have a taskflow contains *20 page fragments*. I have a common error page fragment.
    If any exception will happened in the any fragments then the control navigate to the common error fragment.
    I can easily do this by connecting all 20 fragments to the common error fragment with ControlFlowCase .If I do like this my taskflow diagram will not look nice.
    How can i achieve this without connecting all fragments to common error fragment.
    Can I use wildcard here, any other ways is there?
    Please suggest how to achieve this and provide some documents to follow.
    Note: The common error should be a fragment or page. Not a popup.
    Thanks
    - Moahanraj

    Hi,
    Open the taskflow in diagram view, select the common error page and Mark Activity as Exception Handler.
    Now if there is any exception occurs user will be directed to this page.
    Use this code for the exception handler, you will see the exception and you can give the required message to the user        <af:form id="f1">

  • Error 500--Internal Server Error while opening a taskflow  in inline popup

    Hi,
    I am getting "Error 500--Internal Server Error" while opening a bounded taskflow as a popup from another bounded taskflow containing page fragments. The popup taskflow contains jspx pages. I even removed the jspx pages from the popup taskflow to check if the error is resulting from the bindings on the pages but still I get the same error. Hi Frank,
    Thanks for the reply. I am using it as an inline popup. I am trying to create command links dynamically in an iterator. When a link is clicked a popup window opens. The text of the link is passed to the popup window by creating a variable in the session scope ( I even tried request scope) by an action listener in the backing bean.
    I tried to create another simple application with a static command button which passes its text to popup window through a session scope variable. It worked fine. I am not sure why the same procedure is not working in my original application. Can you give me a hint what could possibly go wrong according the exception stack trace ?
    Thanks,
    KK

  • How do I insert multiple pages in a specific order?

    I create reports in Word and convert them to Adobe before sending them out to customers. I often need to insert additional (Adobe) pages into the report before sending it out; sometimes I need to insert mulitple (20 or 30) pages. Does anyone know how I can insert these pages in a specific order? A few times in the past, Adobe gave me the option to select the order, but lately that option has not come up. HELP!

    Hello Try67,
    I go to Document>Insert Pages then select the files I need to insert. The order in which the pages are inserted is important because they are results of pressure tests (e.g. Sample 1 thru sample 10). I just ran a trial; I tried to select them from top to bottom and bottom to top and it did not seem to make a difference...they went into the document in reverse order. As I mentioned earlier I used to get a pop-up screen that would ask what order I wanted the inserted pages in...I don't get that pop-up anymore.

  • Transaction in TaskFlow and locking

    Hello
    I'm using JDeveloper 11g 11.1.2.1.0
    I came across strange (in my opinion) behaviour of the transaction option inside taskFlow: if taskFlow's transaction option set as something other than "<No Controller Transaction>" (for example, "Use Existing Transaction if Possible"), then taskFlow always use the pessimistic Locking Mode (not depend what is set in adf-config's "Locking Mode").
    I have done simple test.
    There is the table in Oracle database, the entity and the editable view object in the Model project.
    There is one jsf page inside the view project. Inside that jsf page - one bounded taskFlow with one page fragment with simple edit form bounded to View Object from Model project.
    adf-config: "Locking Mode" - "Optimistic"
    Application Module: LocalConfiguration, jbo.locking.mode = 'optimistic'
    TaskFlow: transaction - "Use Existing Transaction if Possible"
    I run the application and after the form SUBMIT (with comandButton or autosubmit="true") I see next log:
    <ADFLogger> <begin> Lock Entity
    <OracleSQLBuilderImpl> <doEntitySelectForAltKey> [600] (125) OracleSQLBuilderImpl.doEntitySelectForAltKey(672) OracleSQLBuilder Executing doEntitySelect on: SAR_TEST.SAR_REPORTS (true)
    <ADFLogger> <begin> Entity read all attributes
    <OracleSQLBuilderImpl> <buildSelectString> [601] (0) OracleSQLBuilderImpl.buildSelectString(2808) Built select: 'SELECT REPORT_ID, PERIOD_DATE, TEMPLATE_ID, SHOP_ID, EDIT_DATE, STATUS, USER_LOGIN, SAVE_COUNTER FROM SAR_TEST.SAR_REPORTS ReportEO'
    <OracleSQLBuilderImpl> <doEntitySelectForAltKey> [602] (0) OracleSQLBuilderImpl.doEntitySelectForAltKey(782) Executing LOCK...SELECT REPORT_ID, PERIOD_DATE, TEMPLATE_ID, SHOP_ID, EDIT_DATE, STATUS, USER_LOGIN, SAVE_COUNTER FROM SAR_TEST.SAR_REPORTS ReportEO WHERE REPORT_ID=:1 FOR UPDATE NOWAIT
    <ADFLogger> <addContextData> Entity read all attributes
    <OracleSQLBuilderImpl> <bindWhereAttrValue> [603] (0) OracleSQLBuilderImpl.bindWhereAttrValue(2296) Where binding param 1: 287
    <ADFLogger> <addContextData> Entity read all attributes
    <ADFLogger> <end> Entity read all attributes
    <ADFLogger> <end> Lock EntitySo, I have "Executing LOCK..." with "FOR UPDATE NOWAIT"
    Record is locked on the database level, and it's impossible to edit it from other session
    If I set taskFlow's transaction to "<No Controller Transaction>" - I do not have any locking.
    So, what is the relations between adf-config: "Locking Mode" and taskFlow's transaction control?
    As I understood I should never use taskFlow's transaction control if I want to have on optimistic locking mode through an application.
    Is this an error?
    Anatolii

    Frank, thank for replay
    I don't understand why the update of the record in database happens. I don't execute commit, I perform the form submit (I want to update the model only, not database records), and during this sumbmit operation the database record's update happens.
    Neither of commit and rollback happen, and record remain locked.
    And I have FOR UPDATE NOWAIT in this situation even with adf-config: "Locking Mode" - "none" or "Optupdate". Why?
    Where did you see that lock released after update?
    Anatolii

  • How to Catch Exception out of ContentPresenter Taskflow

    Design
    In one of my usecase, i have a wrapper tasfkflow called MyContentPresenterTF which wraps Webcenter ContentPresenter Taskflow in it and have the same or less properties exposed.
    MyContentPresenterTF has MyContentPresentPF.jsff. MyContentPresentPF is designated as both default and exception activity.
    MyContentPresenterPF.jsff has some title elements with a dynamic region. The taskflowId for this dynamic region comes from a bean and that points to either ExceptionTF or Webcenter Content presenter Taskflow. ("/oracle/webcenter/doclib/view/jsf/taskflows/presenter/contentPresenter.xml#doclib-content-presenter";)
    Issue :
    I create a page from Webcenter Administration and click Add Content and Add MyContentPresenterTF from resource catalog. I pass the correct parameters for DataSource.
    The page renders the MyContentPresenterTF without issues.
    But in cases like, where i edit the page content and pass the incorrect content id or datasource, then we get a popup with ADF FACES error Please specify a valid ID object. Make sure the repository name is not null. After that whatever action i perform on that page, the same error message appears.
    I want to handle all unhandled exceptions from Webcenter Taskflows if any of the input parameters are wrong or any runtime exception invoked from it and render some exception view region in the same page with some user read able information with some stack trace without disturbing the rest of the page.
    Solutions tried:
    To avoid this, i have created a Exception Taskflow with exception page fragment. I have a bean with method getDynamicTaskFlowId which should switch between MyContentPresenterTF and ExceptionTF depending upon the exception. In case of exception, the exception taskflow region should be rendered with some readable error message and the other parts of the page should be working as before. (note i also want to clear the exception from viewport )
    But in order to do this, i need to switch the taskflows and clear the exception on Viewport if the exception was caught in the first place. But in this case, i always get the exception object null (ex, exceptionData always null).
    public TaskFlowId getDynamicTaskFlowId() {
    ControllerContext context =
    ControllerContext.getInstance(); //context.getCurrentViewPort()
    ViewPortContext currentRootViewPort = context.getCurrentRootViewPort();
    ViewPortContext currentViewPort = context.getCurrentViewPort();
    Exception ex = currentViewPort.getExceptionData();
    Exception exceptionData = currentRootViewPort.getExceptionData();
    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    facesContext.getMessages();
    // facesContext.getMessages(arg0)
    if (currentRootViewPort.isExceptionPresent()) {   //not going inside
    exceptionData.printStackTrace();
    currentRootViewPort.clearException();
    return TaskFlowId.parse(taskFlowIdError);
    return TaskFlowId.parse(taskFlowId);
    I also tried creating CustomErrorHandler class extending DCErrorHanlder and overriding reportException and registering it in databindings.cpx. But the control is not stopped at reportException in debug mode. As i think, the DCErrorHandler might work only for Model or service Layer exceptons (like JBO and not for ADF Faces).
    Whats the best way to go with the problem?

    Thanks yannick for your replies.
    1) I think you must have created a JSF page(jspx) and consumed your wrapper taskflow(MyContentPresenterTF) which has the default method or exception activity (that directs to either error.jsff or MyContentPresenterPF.jsff view activities). MyContentPresenterPF.jsff contains the static region of Webcenter Content PresenterTF. Keeping this assumption in place,
    You mentioned...
    /*When i don't provide the correct parameters for the CP, i see the complete stacktrace in my console but it does not call the handleError method again so it will also not redirect to the error.jsff. */ ..
    In this standalone test case, the error or stack trace appears in console but nothing pops up in Ui. Also as said in my previous post, the control is not getting inside
    if (currentRootViewPort.isExceptionPresent()) -- This condition is always false, as the exception object is null in first place irrespctive of incorrect parameters in Content presenter taskflow. So its never going to error.jsff for me...
    Also the error is only appearing in console, it doesnot disturb the JSF page anymore...
    2)That is for standalone page. But try this scenario...
    Deploy the taskflow as shared library to Resource catalog and create the page from Webcenter Administration. Open the page.
    Go to edit mode (ctrl + shift + E) . Consume the wrapper taskflow in the page created by clicking Add content > taskflow.
    Edit the properties and pass the correct parameter. Observe the page rendered correctly.
    Go to edit mode again and change the parameter to incorrect value. You will see a popup appearing with error message UCM content invalid ...Even if you try to change it back to correct value and click ok..the same error appears and appears again....if you click close and try to edit some other properties in the same portal page (say edit some page parameters etc)...Still you see the same exception poped up here and there....We stuck at here and we want to get rid of these errors and show a empty region where the wrapper taskflow was consumed..

    Hi!

    Hi.
    You can do it using ADF TaskFlows,Create two page fragments as index.jsff and home.jsff.Also need to create container page(.jspx) to add taskflow and finally need to run Content page.Then you can navigates page fragments within taskflow using controle flow case(navigation between page fragments).
    See:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/taskflows.htm

  • Issue with nested inline popup taskflow while try to return back to parent.

    Hi Adf Experts,
    I have been facing one issue. Would you please give me how can I solve this issue which address my scenario. I greatly appreciate your help.
    My Scenario:
    I have ViewA which opens inline popup page ViewB. On ViewB also have another inline PopUp page ViewC (i.e. nested inline popup). On ViewB, there is back button which taskFlow return call and navigate back to ViewA. I need to implement same Back trigger event from ViewC (Back Button)to ViewA. For this, I am using ReturnListener on ViewB button which opens ViewC inline page. On returnListener, I have used ViewB back button ActionEvent queue. like:
         RichCommandButton buttonBack;
         public void onReturn( ReturnEvent returnEvent )
              ActionEvent ae = new ActionEvent(buttonBack);
              buttonBack.queueEvent( ae );
    Output Scenario:
    While running from ViewB, it fires same Back Button action from ViewC back button. No issue at all.
    But when I run from ViewA upto ViewC page and on fire back button, I have been facing issue like below.

    Hi,
    I have a similar issue.
    I have a page (search page) from where i open another dynamic tab(UI dynamic tab shell pattern).
    In this second tab, I open a new jspx using "dialog:open" in my taskflow (of the second tab).
    Now when I navigate to my first tab with advanced search and try executing my search, a managed bean method is called where I have a line of code as follows:
    DCIteratorBinding statusIter = (DCIteratorBinding)getBindings().get("myIterator");
    At this line the statusIter comes as "null" and hence my search fails with the following exception:

    Any pointers to resolve this are appreciated.

  • BUG: 11g problem when using orabpel.jar for tasklist page

    Hi,
    Using 11g i created a BC view object to show a BPEL/Workflow tasklist. Using the SOAP_CLIENT method i got this working. When i test my view object with the business component tester it works. When i create a taskflow with a page fragment that has a table based on the view object it is not working. I need to deploy (among others) the orabpel.jar library with the application because my view object implementation depends on it. As soon as i run the application however with the orabpel.jar deployed the browser keeps showing the Loading image but refuses to continue to load. I also do not get any error in the console or the domain and server log files. It looks like there is a problem with some classes in the orabpel.jar that get in the way of weblogic adf libraries.
    Does anybody have experience with 10.1.3 orabpel.jar library in combination with the new 11g weblogic stack? Can i somehow configure class loading in a way that weblogic classes have preference over orabpel.jar classes if they exist? Is there a way to increase logging so i can trace at what point the problem occurs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Andre

    Hi,
    Traced the problem to be related to the use of ADF XML menus. When i remove them the problem disappears. So i have traced the problem although i still do not exactly know what is causing it. Since there are a lot of redundant (probably altered versions) of classes in the orabpel.jar library one of them gets in the way with a weblogic class that is used while rendering the ADF Menu. The problem should be reproducible if you create a menu based on the model of an adf menu and add the orabpel.jar to your deployment.
    Kind Regards,
    Andre
