Multi Language 3rd party

Hi,
As you all might know, Apple had disabled using 3rd party keyboards in iOS 8 when filling Password fields (Apps, Safari, etc'...).
Because of that i found an issue which is really make things uncomfortable for me.
I am using both English and Hebrew keyboards.
Everything was fine while using the native iOS keyboards.
When i installed a 3rd party keyboard like SwiftKey (Or Swipe for example) i can replace with them only the native English keyboard as Hebrew is not supported.
No i have enabled 2 keyboards - SwiftKey in English and Native iOS Hebrew Keyboard.
This setup is causing ever time when filling password fields that only the HEBREW keyboard will be available. Native English is disabled and 3rd party keyboard is blocked as apple selected to for this fields.
Because of that issue i can't fill any Password fields in English while using any 3rd party keyboard.
By the way. If i am enabling on the 3rd party keyboard, While filling password fields the native English keyboard do came up. But then i have no Hebrew keyboard for other fields.
This is obviously a bug in iOS 8. I have checked it in few devices and was able to reproduce this issue in all of them.

Any 3rd party utilities that fix full screen mode for multi-monitor users?

I am a multi-monitor user. As multi-monitor users know, full screen mode is basically useless since if you try to go full screen on one monitor, it causes the other monitor to go blank and become unusable (at least with most programs). Are there any 3rd party utitilities or fixes for this?

Spaces, which is what this functionality stems from, was limited in that it used your entire setup and switched all of the screens over; space to space. I never used spaces because I always had multiple monitors and I was always working with multiple apps simultaneously that I wanted to be able to reference while working on the others.
Now they call Spaces, "mission control" and changed the appearance of it, but the functionality remained the same, each workstation comprised all of your monitors, and would switch over all of them when switching to a new "Desktop".
Fullscreen apps wrongly assumes that it can take the functionality of the afformentioned MS/Spaces and use it for one app, negating the whole idea of why someone would have multiple screens (real estate to work with other applications).
If they stop considering multiple monitors as one Workspace, they can then make it so they are asynchronous "tablets" instead of one conjoined entity.
So, you say people have been asking about this for 2 years, I've been asking for this for 5!
The issue here is, the only answer is to not use it. Making Mission Control and Fullscreen apps completely ignored by people like us, where I could be using both functions to glide around my work station and three monitors, mixing and matching which apps I want to be viewed on each separate monitor, to perform one single task; together.
It would actually reward people who wanted to utilize Thunderbolt technology and have more then one monitor.
There is no telling why apple chose to push out something that would only support the casual user, with one display, but the only direct way to let apple know that we feel limited by the OS is to send feedback. Even though it seems that we are powerless in this situation, I hope that they do consider how to make this function better.

Using 3rd party library on linux (ABI Compatibility ?)

Hi all !
I am facing a problem while developing an application that uses a 3rd party library. This 3rd party library is an OCR Engine.
Actually I am able to use this OCR from Java via JNI under windows. Now I try to do the same thing under Linux.
I created a C++ wrapper shared library linking the OCR Engine shared library.
I wrote 3 JNI functions for :
- loading the engine
- closing the engine
- setting the engine language support
Using my wrapper from any C/C++ program works fine. But when I use a JNI interface to these method, it ends randomly with a segmentation fault.
Consider this simple program :
engine.nativeLoadEngine();
for(int i = 0; i < 500; i++)

engine.nativeCloseEngine();
Sometimes the segmentation fault appears before the nativeLoadEngine(), sometimes after nativeCloseEngine(), sometimes at iteration N etc.
It cannot be a matter of my JNI code because... take a look at my functions bodies :

Even if I do "nothing" in the bodies, I face segmentation faults. If I don't link the OCR library, it is self-evident that there is no problem.
I even used JNA (https://jna.dev.java.net/) to access a shared library exposing my three functions and linking to my 3rd party .so. I reproduced the same issue.

I tried some compile command tweaking but it was pointless. It really seems hopeless to me...

I believe I built Boost using the complete option. I have several files for each library, for example, I have the following in the boost_1_47_0\stage\lib\ folder:

I think the ones that have the -s- in the filename are the static versions of the library.
I've tried changing the Project Properties->C/C++->Code Generation->Runtime Library settings without luck. And I'm not sure if there are other settings that I need to change.

3rd Party SATA raid cards for internal drives?

Apart from the discussion as to if RAID actually benefits a home desktop system, I am wondering if anyone has the lowdown on using 3rd party SATA raid cards to support the INTERNAL hard drives on the Mac Pro series?
My Mac Pro is still slated to be built at Apple and for now I have the minimum memory and HD spec being requested at Apple, with the plan to upgrade the memory and drives from OWC or another vendor.
I've toyed with the idea of utilizing Disk Utility's software RAID features (e.g. RAID 0 for scratch disks, RAID 1 for boot, RAID 0+1 for all else.) I've also toyed with the notion of searching for a hardware raid solution which would allow me to transfer the internal SATA cable runs from the motherboard to a host adapter card for an internal multi-channel experience (with options to create and break mirrors to external devices for backup purposes.)
So....
Has anyone experience or utilized 3rd party hardware raid controllers which can connect to the internal HD bays? Are there limitations to this (ie, does the boot drive HAVE to reside off the internal motherboard controllers, or can an internal hardware controller successfully boot the system) of which ought be noted?
Finally, in the event that a host adapter card cannot drive the interna bays, can anyone give feedback to hardware SATA cards to power external drive bays with support for Disk Utility (to allow RAID1 pairings of internal drives to external snapshot-backup drives)?

I am wondering if anyone has the lowdown on using 3rd party SATA raid cards to support the INTERNAL hard drives on the Mac Pro series?
There are many 3rd party controllers that support the internal HDs if an internal iPass connector is used. The problem is that some are bootable but most are not.
The Areca ARC-1680ix-12 and the HighPoint RocketRAID 4320 are bootable. However, the system cannot be installed via the Apple DVD. Instead the user needs to clone a boot drive with the proper drivers to the boot volume on the controller and then boot from the 3rd party controller.
The other issue I found is that these controllers do not support Boot Camp. If Boot Camp is desired, my recommendation would be to leave the internal HDs on the Mac Pro internal bus intact and use the 3rd party controller for external storage. This method provides four internal bays that are bootable, support Boot Camp and can be used for system backups. I use the 3rd party controller for external storage for large RAID sets and hot swapping hard disks.
With the internal bays intact and external hot swap RAID storage available the user can support Boot Camp, multiple system volumes and large external RAID sets. From my experience using a 3rd party controller with the internal HD bays always has some limitations. The user usually does not realize it unit later when Boot Camp does not work or the computer fails on a system upgrade or the controller does not work at all with a new version of Mac OS X.
Staying with the standard internal Mac Pro bay configuration will be the best configuration to avoid compatibility issues with future versions of Mac OS X. It is rumored that the new Snow Leopard may require 64-bit drivers. If that is the case, I would expect most if not all existing 3rd party controller drivers to fail. Some drivers will be upgraded after a few months while others may not. Having the internal Mac Pro SATA controller intact should at least allow the Mac Pro to boot if my guess about compatibility issues is correct.

3rd party charts and graphs

I would like to find out if there are any 3rd party (Free or for purchase) libraries which contain enhanced graphics objects. For example, I would like to find a robust strip chart capable of displaying multiple simultaneous (Time locked or common X axis) strips in separate plots with the ability to re-arrange the plots vertically (Drag and drop), save the configuration, etc. I'm sure this can be done via a lot of detailed programming, but I'd rather just use already available solutions if they exist.
Are there 3rd party controls that replace and enhance the built in LabView graphs and charts?

What is a 3rd Party System?

Is a "3rd Party System" anything that isn't developed by Apple?
IF so, since I updated to Mavericks, I have a "mac" compatible program that I can't get into, eveb though it had a new dmg to download making it OK for Mavericks. (Same thing happened going from Tiger to Lion with another program.)
Problem is, Apple doesn't make all kinds of programs, like Genealogy, Languages, Cameras, etc. SO, what's a user to do? & Why does mac just "dump" what ever it is to keep these programs running on a new OS?
just frustrated, as I can't access my Genealogy data, nor a language program... aguh!

How will FCPX implement 3rd Party Plug-ins?

From a Professional standpoint, the current version of FCPX is unusable on so many levels due to the absence of basic features that made FCP series the juggernaut it was until yesterday.
Here's my prediction of HOW Apple plans to distribute Plug-ins and Add-ons:
Apple is pushing towards a single, universal OS -- most likely a glorified iOS. And they're forcing FCPX users to upgrade to Lion so they have Appstore on their machines just to buy FCPX. Matter of fact, theyi're seeing more profit from Appstore/iTunes than their own computers! Ever since the success of the Appstore -- Apple/Jobs has been pushing to create products and services that will bring even more profit to the Appstore/iTunes business model.
Hence the release of the iPad and the development of iPad apps -- and the move to with OSX Lion.
The reason for this is so that Apple can take their flagship software like FCP --- and monetize all 3rd-party plug-ins and add-ons.
SO, once Apple has a consumer using FCPX, if they want Multi-cam or Import/Export features -- you will have to buy it as an add-on and sell all FCPX plug-ins and add-ons THROUGH THE APPSTORE.
Furthermore -- Apple will most likely force all 3rd-party developers to build plug-ins for FCPX as an APP -- and sell it THROUGH THE APPSTORE -- where Apple gets 30% commission -- stealing that money away from the developers, who in the past with FCP7, you were able to purchase directly from the developer.
SO -- FCPX isn't a revolution in editing....
FCPX is a revolution in MONETIZING FINAL CUT PRO PLUG-INS through the APPSTORE!

No they are not. OS X is a far more developed, powerful and mature OS than iOS. There is no sign that it is being some reduced in power in any way.There's a whole lot of fokks claiming it is simply because a few interface features from iOS are being added - note added - to OS X.

Well I hate the argue but that's factually untrue as well. No FCPX users are not forced to upgrade to Lion. Snow Leopard users can buy FCPX today, long before Lion is introduced.

I have not ordered, but I contacted my freight regarding the procedure and this was their reply:

I tried holding Cmd+R at startup last night, but unfortunately all I got is a flashing folder with a question mark on it, presumably indicating that it can't find any files.
Internet Recovery is unfortunately not possible on my computer, I believe this feature was only included with Macs that shipped with Lion or later versions of OS X (mine shipped with Leopard).
The problem in the thread that you linked seems a bit different to mine - I think the core issue for me is that the SSD is now not recognised at all by Disk Utility, meaning I cannot even format it to try installing again.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can access this 'invisible' SSD? I am considering buying a USB to SATA cable and connecting it to a friend's Mac.

Misleading and misrepresentation - 3rd party marketing to bring back old customers

Just had Verizon installed last week and did not get all of the incentives the 3rd party rep. offered. First the rep spent 4 hours in my house getting the order done (Verizon had changed the operating system and he was having trouble navigating it) but honestly I like the service and with the package he was offering it was ok for me.
The offer:
2 years Ultimate package, free Multi room DVR & $300 Visa Prepaid Card
Sounded great and would make my switch back to Verizon worthwhile because without the prepaid card it wouldn't be financially smart (Verizon $25 more a month for same services as Comcast for first year) . So after service installed I realized I did not have all of the movie channels and stated by the rep and on the flyer. So I call Verizon CS that night after installation and speak to a Rep. who says the order is not even in for real service yet and only as installation, but also tells me that the Ultimate package does not include HBO or Starz as I was told and it says on my flyer. I say ok, can I check the rest of my order please. So I tell him the package and he says , that there is no $300 gift card on the order. I get a little upset and he says there is nothing he could even such as "a $20 bill credit for for 12 months" because the package is not active in his system. I repeat to him a "$20 bill credit for 12 months" and he replies "yes I have done it before", but he can't because of the status of my service.
So I call back Fri. still same thing with service order but CS rep says call back Mon. it should be through. So I call back today and no one can help me with my situation. I mean really the $20 bill credit for 12 months isn't $300 but it was good enough for because of how much I like the service. Now however I am completely turned off by the misleading sales pitch by the 3rd party company (which Verizon could only say "sorry") and the misrepresentation of a CS rep. suggesting the $20 credit if they were not going to do it.
It's really too bad because I really like the service and have told so many people how much I like it and they should try it, but now I will scream from the mountain tops, facebook, twitter and any other way I can how they mislead and misrepresent to get sales and customers and TO STAY AWAY - it's not worth the headache.

Talking Dictionary and 3rd party Chinese IME confl...

I once had a Nokia (non smart) phone with a rather capable Chinese input system (alas I misplaced the phone). And now my e52 won't let me enter several characters at a time, and the few consecutive pairs that it does let me enter are very restrictive. For example, if I hit the keypad: 942649468 hoping to enter xiang'zhou (香洲) it only offers zhang'zhou (漳州). This is one example of how limited my phone's IME is. It makes it very difficult for me to enter certain phrases (especially where I am not entirely sure which the correct individual Chinese characters are).
A feasible solution is to download and install a third party IME. I was successfully using sogou pinyin. This works fine -albeit it has a crippled English input method compared to the phone's default method (prediction & auto completion). I found it a bearable compromise. I had accepted the use of the inferior English input system in exchange for the more robust Chinese IME.
However, after I updated my firmware the (English-Chinese) Talking Dictionary that comes with the phone refuses to work with a third party Chinese IME. If the IME is active the dictionary exits instead of showing definitions (and translations) when pressing the select key to view a word/term.
I have tried reinstalling the firmware, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several Chinese IME (sogou, QQpinyin, baidu pinyin, ZTA4) , but the Talking Dictionary still fails.
Another solution I'd like to try is uninstalling and reinstalling the Talking Dictionary. Unfortunately, I have no idea where/how to find the appropriate functioning installation file for the dictionary. I have found a few .sis on the web but one installs a dictionary whose viewing window is too big and the definitions are cut off (horizontal scroll is unavailable) and the rest result in several certificate issues (my guess is that these files are somehow not quite authentic/legit). In the end, I went to the shop where I bought the phone; there, they deleted all the apps on my SD card and reinstalled some of the default applications that came with the phone –the talking dictionary inclusive. The updated firmware seems to remain unchanged; as did anything that was installed on the phone’s memory. I would like to note that the shop was incapable of simply installing the dictionary. And as for my third party Chinese IME and Talking Dictionary conflict, the only thing they suggested was that I shut off the 3rd party IME when using the dictionary and turn it back on when I need to type Chinese messages. This solution, -though admittedly effective- is rather cumbersome, to say the least.
An ideal solution for me would be if I could upgrade my phones default IME, as I very much enjoy its English entering abilities. Alternatively, I am prepared to settle for the decrepit English input offered by third party Chinese IME software if I can at least leave it on (w/o having to switch it off when using my talking dictionary –an invaluable tool for me).
I would be much obliged if I anyone could offer any solutions, or at least point me in the right direction to download the appropriate functioning installation file for the Cambridge International English talking dictionary with Chinese translations that comes with my phone.

I've successfully found a functioning installation file for the talking dictionary. Unfortunately, this did not solve the conflict between the dictionary and sogou pinyin. A conflict that I don't recall encountering, prior to the firmware upgrade.

Download error, while downloading 3rd party software

Hello all, I'm a newbie to SCCM2012 R2. When I attempt to do a software download for Mozilla, Java etc... i'm getting this error below. I can download MS updates fine, but 3rd party updates. We are using Secunia to publish 3rd part updates to WSUS,
which works fine. Then I sync SCCM with WSUS and SCCM finds the published 3rd party software, but I can't download it. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
