  • Multi language problem in Reports 6i

    Hello,
    I'm experiencing a problem in a report I've been unable to solve:
    I have added a radio button to the form which calls the report.
    The radio button returns either 'EN'(English) or 'PT'(Portuguese), which refers to the language I want the called report to display. I have added this as a parameter in the call to the report, and as a user parameter in the report itself. This then amends the prompts in the called report to display in the selected language.
    However, I do not want all called reports to display the Portuguese: only those where the sales office is '31'. Hence, even if the radio button is set to 'PT', the report prompts should be in English unless the sales office is '31'.
    I have handled this with a decode statement in the program unit setting the prompts in the report:
    CURSOR c1
    IS
    SELECT decode(:l_sales_office, '31',:p_LANGUAGE_CODE, 'EN') FROM dual;
    BEGIN
         IF c1%ISOPEN
              THEN
              CLOSE c1;
         END IF;
              OPEN c1;
              FETCH c1 INTO v_language_code;
              CLOSE c1;
    This works fine when I run the report from Report Builder.
    It also works fine when I run from the Form in most circumstances.
    The only circumstance in which it will not work is if I run from the form and choose to run several invoices, some of which have a sales office of 31, and some of which don't. If I do this and set the radio button to English, they all run with English prompts, as they should. However, if I set the radio button to Portuguese, some of those which should be English run as English and some as Portuguese, and the same for those that should be Portuguese: some are correct and some are not. I can see no pattern in why they do so.
    I'm sorry if this all seems a little vague: what I would really like is a few ideas on different angles I could approach the problem from.
    Thank you.

    Instead of your code, try using just this line in the AfterPForm Trigger:
    :p_LANGUAGE_CODE := decode(:l_sales_office, '31',:p_LANGUAGE_CODE, 'EN');

  • Language Problem when installing Acrobat 8.0 Standard with Customization Wizard

    Hello,
    i would like to install Acrobat 8.0 Standard in German on several PCs.
    I created a mst-File with the Customization Wizard and it works except for the language settings. The default language is always English. I found a registry key to switch to German:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\8.0\Language\current]
    @="exlang32.deu"
    This works for Acrobat but the Add ins for Microsoft Office are still in English. Is there a way to change the language settings for the Add ins?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Kind regards,

    I Have the same problem but with the Swedish, Danish version
    If I use the Customization Wizard the Danish language is ignored
    msiexec /i "acrostan.msi" TRANSFORMS="acrostan.mst"

  • Multi language support for Adobe interactive form

    Hi ,
      I translated the adobe form in multi language in SE63, If i execute the form with passing LANGU(language) parameter, form supports for multi language.
    I created XML schema based interface and if a execute interactive form in Webdynpro, i am unable to pass launguage(LANGU) parameter.  because InteractiveForm element property does not have language key parameter.
    Apart from creating different language dependent forms, is there any alternate way we can pass the LANGU key parameter to Interactive Adobe form???

    Hi Thomas
    Let me share my few more investigation on the same, I chaged form each element property to login language.
    and translated form to other languages. If directly execute form in sfp with loging in different language i am getting right result. it means even no need to pass the LANGU parameter.
    But same thing if i execute from Webdynpro i am getting default 'EN' language form, even though i login in 'DE' language.

    Hi,
    As far as i know when you use Adobe forms in a WD4A application, language is your "web" connection language.
    You can have a look at standard class CL_WD_ADOBE_SERVICE, it's used when generating an adobe forms from WD4A. , more particulary look at method DETERMINE_DOCPARAMS.

  • Provide Multi Language Content in Knowledge Management // Class deprecated

    Hello,
    I tried to implement the blog "Provide Multi Language Content in Knowledgle Management" by Thomas Kuri (BridingIT).
    I have problems to import the the following class:
    import com.sapportals.portal.prt.service.usermanagement.IUserManagementService;
    I always get the warning "The type IUserManagementService" is deprecated. I use the following jar file for that:
    j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.usermanagement\lib\com.sap.portal.usermanagementapi.jar
    Is that the wrong jar file? Or am I doing something else wrong?
    Thanks for your help!!
    Kirsten

    Hi,
    she's trying to implement the code example from this article:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/207ba610-08ac-2b10-1787-fc477da4b5bf
    In this article, the deprecated class is used. Why? The code obviously is not written for EP7, but for EP6 with EP5 support. In the function: getEP5User is used to retrieve the EP5 user.
    If you're not too experienced or just want to try something / PoC it's OK to just copy & paste some sample code. For using this code in an EP7 portal I would recommend to adapt the code.

  • Why do I have multi language versions in other system....

    Hi All,
    Could you let me know why do I have multi languages versions when I transported the form to other sandbox system.
    Let me breif my probem. On development system I have one form and since we do not want other languages versions to come into picture so I deleted all of the languages versions and kept only original version which is 'DE' in which form was created. When i see the version logs it also shows me only 'DE' version since I deleted rest of other versions.
    On development system form works fine since we want language 'DE' to be called for any language and inside the form it takes care for all the languages.
    But when I transported it to other sandbox system form is not working fine since when transported it is now available in all the languages and when testing is done for this form in sandbox system it does not work since for example when testing is done using 'HU' language form gets called in 'HU' language and  it is available on sandbox system and as a result form does not work since in 'HU' language form is not correct, and also when versions are seen on sandbox it shows the form active or translate in all the languages.
    Is there anything that needs to be done while transporting the form...I only want that on sandbox system only version DE should be available..like the way it is in development system.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi All,
    Can some one give me a clue as to why I am having this problem.
    Thanks,

  • Screen dims and multi-language "restart" message appears

    Currently, every time Safari is used, the entire screen dims and a multi-language (German, Chinese, etc.) message comes on the screen saying that I must physically power down my machine and restart. No error message is given, nor are any other options allowed, as the keyboard and mouse are rendered useless.
    I have rebooted the machine several times, including powering down the cable modem, but the problem persists.
    This problem has occurred in the past, but seemed to clear itself, only to reoccur starting yesterday (23 Sep 05). I can't shake the feeling that this problem is more in the OS X arena than in Safari's, but testing does not seem to bear out my feelings - all other installed applications appear to run properly and this phenomenon of screen dimming with forced power down and restart does not occur with other applications.
    Any thoughts? Thanks! Bob Meyer.

    I suggest the following:
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    If you continue to have the problem, then reinstall the OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo) updater.

  • Help: Multi-language Support in Jdeveloper 9i Log Window

    I have basically solved the multi-language display problem in code editor, compiling and run. If I send the output out of JDeveloper, it's displayed well.
    However, if I run or debug in JDeveloper and want to see the result in JDeveloper log window, the non-english characters are still not recognisable. Anyone knows the correct setting?

    Hi...
    It sounds like your encoding settings aren't set correctly. Your compiler encoding should be set to the same value as your environment encoding and this should usually be the same as your operating system default encoding (unless your app is encoded as Unicode).
    Set the encoding for compiler in the Project Properties under Profiles\Developement\Compiler. Leave it as default unless you have a good reason otherwise.
    Set the encoding for the environment in the Tools\Preferences menu item, in the Environment page. Leave it as default (which should = Compiler encoding) unless you have a good reason to change it.
    If you continue to have problems, I'll need to know the version of JDeveloper you're using, the OS and region settings, and the values set for for encoding in JDeveloper.

  • Language problem on SRM

    Hi all,
    I'm working on SRM 5.0 with 2 back-ends; user languages will be english, russian and turkish.
    Everything is working fine while we are using English as logon language.
    Now we are experiencing a problem while using Turkish: during GOA creation, when in the distribution tab we are trying to display from the match code the list of releasing Purch. Org. we got the Explorer warning Security Information:
    "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?"
    and after no pages are displayed (both selecting yes or no)!
    Some of you has experienced similar problems?
    Can you advice some particular settings in the case of multi-language environment?
    Thanks
    #Bill J.

    Some update to detail the problem after further investigation.
    Any idea is appreciated.
    On EBP when we try to make a search for the available values we get "page cannot be found" error. This error occurs only if we login to EBP in a non-English language, i.e. either Turkish or Russian.
    We don't get this error on all search helps but with the ones that have a non-latin character in the link. On the other hand the problem does not occur in all the links with non-latin characters. Some of the links with non-latin characters are working correctly.
    Steps for the Reconstruction
    1. Login to EBP in Turkish
    2. Goto Process GOA/"Genel çerçeve sözleşmesini işle" under  Contract Management
    3. Create a GOA
    4. On the initial screen of the GOA creation click on the "binnocular" at the line of under-over delivery tolerance/"Tsl.açığı/ fazlasıtoleransı"
    5. Since our SRM server is on SSL Internet Explorer first asks for displaying the non-secure items. The actual problem is that the link contains non-latin characters. You can see the link by clicking on and not letting the binnocular.
    6. However when you go down on the same page to the binnocular for the vendor/"Satıcı" search you get no errors. Because the non-latin characters are converted to ASCII codes.
    I have also opened an OSS note on that.
    Regards
    #Bill J.

  • Multi Languages - Import Manager

    Hi
    I like to import some product descriptions in multi languages [DE, FR, IT]. But the problem is, that the source file has more languages as the destination.
    How I can exclude languages from import It looks like I have to match all "Source Values" to "destination values"
    Value conversion and mapping
    DE -> DE
    <i>EN -> Nothing</i>
    FR -> FR
    IT -> IT

    Hello Werner,
    Pivoting is a possible solution, but much easier is using "NULL Interpretation". In IM on the "Map Fields" Tab you have mapped the language from the source to the destination language field. In the "Destination fields" grid use the right mouse button menu -> "Set NULL Interpretation" an set it to "ignore". Now in the "Source values" grid set all language values to NULL that you don't want to import. Then you can map all NULL languages to any language in the "Destination values" grid, they will be ignored during the import because of th NULL interpretation. This way you have all values mapped and the import can be done!

  • Multi Language Solution (not by use of "Translate Application")

    Hi All,
    I try to implement a "multi language" functionality into my APEX Application but want to avoid the "Translate Application" method.
    As I'm not very keen in JavaScript and PL/SQL Coding, I need your help.
    What I want to do:
    I have a table tbl_lang (var varchar2(20), lang_en varchar2(50), lang_de varchar2(50), lang_fr varchar2(50)).
    It contains the name of a variable "var" that shall be filled with the Item Titles in the preselected language (de, fr or en).
    The language can be chosen from a select list an dependent of the chosen language I do a "select var, lang_*en* from ... " or a "select var, lang_*de* from ... " and I fill my variable with the dependent language.
    Each Item on my Page has the variable set instead of a written Title.
    The Title of the Item Surname is for example &P2_LANG_SURENAME. and has the Value is "Surename" or "Vorname" or "Prénom".
    The Problem ist:
    I don't want to define a hidden Item for each Variable.
    Is it possible to read the translations from the tbe_lang and fill a bunch of variables or an array that I can use within the Apllication without binding it to a hidden Item?
    Best regards
    Thomas

    Hello Thomas,
    >> That menas if I want to change the original application I have to redeploy the language after each change!?
    I’m not sure what you mean by redeploy. The principle of the APEX translation mechanism is that you have your primary language application, which contains all your application logic. For each extra language, the APEX engine creates a language mapping application (a shadow copy as you call it) which contains a copy of your application logic and all the relevant translations to the underlying language. The translation mechanism includes a seed process which synchronize all the changes made to your primary language application (which is the only application you are working on) and also generate a XLIFF file that contains all the translatable components of your application. When you are done translating the XLIFF file, you can use the APEX translation mechanism to publish the new version and translation.
    Moreover, the APEX translation mechanism also allows you to translate all the APEX engine internal messages, which you can’t do by yourself.
    If by deployment you mean installing the multi-lingual application in a new APEX instance, working with the APEX translation mechanism means that you’ll need to install 3 (in your case) separate applications. The primary language application (which can also include all the supporting object) and simple import of all the other translated applications.
    From my own experience I can assure you that working with the APEX translation mechanism is much much more simpler, easier and efficient than the road you want to take, not to mention the far more simple (and central) maintenance options. Your way – specific PL/SQL code for each language – can be a maintenance nightmare.
    Also, bear in mind (and I believe this was your original question) that you’ll need to maintain a hidden item for every page component with a label, e.g. page items, buttons, tabs, report headers, etc. You’ll probably need to use some dynamic SQL functions otherwise you’ll have to deal with each component separately. In other words, you’re not only want to reinvent the wheel (as all of it has already been done by the development team) you are not dealing with very small and basic wheel, but something far more complicated.
    From your response to my questions, I understand that you never experience the use of the APEX translation mechanism. I think you should try it. You can use apex.oracle.com for that. Develop a simple application that includes all the component types you going to use (Forms, Reports, Tabular Forms, IR etc.) and see how you can handle it all. Only then, you should decide what road to take.
    As I said in my first post, what you are asking is probably doable. The question is whether you need to do it.

    Arie.

  • Multi-language subtitled DVD

    Hi
    I am building a multi-language DVD which contains numerous dramas all subtitled into 8 different languages. The dvd has a language selection page linking to scripts for each language and then the first of two scene selection menus. This link gives a quick overview of the scripts I've currently used.
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/dvd_languagenattress.html
    The problem I have is that the order of the buttons for each language needs to be alphabetical which means that a link which is on menu 1 for the English subtitle is on Menu 2 for the German subtitles. I can programme the DVD to take the user back to Menu 1 German as a default but not to menu 2.
    My knowledge of scripting is quite simple but I have tried adding a script which resets the GPRM for the second menu when accessed from the first menu. I thought this would then set a differnt GPRM reference for the return to submenu script to read. However this failed to work in the simulator.
    Any help or useful advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards
    Dan Creed

    A suggestion: Submit a
    feature request
    for access to GPRMs. :) A GPRM (General PaRaMeter) is a variable which can be set and evaluated. In this case you could have used it to check from which menu the user came and return to that menu.
    Other than that the only solution I can think of is to create multiple versions of the chapter menus. If the menus aren't motion menus the extra DVD disc space required will be minimal, but it will be a lot of extra work.

  • Multi Language support : which release of portal?

    Is multi-language supported in 3.0.6?
    I know it is supported in 3.0.7, but what about 3.0.6?
    Furthermore, I heard there are knowns problems with 3.0.7 language support.
    Is it worth waiting 3.0.8 or can we pretty safely use 3.0.7?
    Thanks

    In 3.0.7 we have still problems with multi language support.
    We are switching to 3.0.8 which seems to be solution of almost all our's problems. (Bugs and missing features)
