MULTI RECORD

I HAVE ONE OPERATION WITH MORE THAN ONE NUMBER IN THE SAME TIME
SO IT SAVED IN MULTI RECORD
I HAVE TO EXECUTE THIS DATA
BUT ALL OPERATION IN SAME TIME COUNT AND DISPLAY IN ONE RECORD
AND I NEED TO DETERMIN THE NUMBER OF DAY I NEED

go_record(1);
<< do your processing >> -- This is executed only for the first record.
if :system.last_record = 'TRUE' then -- If the 1st record is also the last record.
RETURN;
end if;
LOOP
next_record;
<< do your processing >>
if :system.last_record = 'TRUE' then
EXIT;
end if;
END LOOP;
I created a two canvas form. On the first canvas, the user enters data and selects 1 - 30
reports that they want to run. When they click on <NEXT> button, I create a multi-record
control block and display each record on the second screen using
go_block;
clear_block;
move data;
create_record;
The user then selects on the second canvas which reports to run now and which to run later via
a LOV. When they press the <RUN> button, I want to start at the first record and either run the
report or schedule it. Then I want to move onto the second and the third until all selected reports
have been handled. I know I should use a loop but can't seem to make it work.
So my question is, How do I loop through the records in a multi-record control block, pass the information
for that one record to a parameter form and then execute the request? Each control block record contains
10 parameter fields.
Thanks.

  • Multi-record / spread table...moveable fields in designer generated form

    Good morning all;
    I hope you are doing good...
    Imagine a multi-record block layout with it's overflow property set to spread-table to accomodate 10 varchar2(25) fields. Now, of the hundreds of users working with this generated form, not one of them wants to see the fields in the same order on the screen.
    What i would like to do is generate the form from designer so that a user could 'drag'n drop' let say, field #10 to the field #2 spot on the screen. Something like windows explorer where you can move the 'Size' column around so it is viewable without having to use the spread-table bar at the bottom of the screen...
    Any idea on how to generate this form from designer?
    Thank you and wish me luck!

    I don't know a solution, but I think a solution could be easier found if it was a read-only block. You did not specify that. Then maybe you could dynamically change the query behind the block.
    Good luck, Paul.

  • Updating a value of a text item in a multi record block based on a change

    Hi,
    I need to change the value of a text item in a multi record block based on a change to another item's value in the same block.

  • How to do it in multi-record block

    Hi all,
    i have 1 text items in a multi-record block number of record displayed 10
    and i have values like 100 , 50, 30 in first 3 records and in 5th record i want to put some value like
    20 then i want to calculate all values like 100 + 50 + 30 +20 = 200 and i want to put the total value in a single record block.
    but my problem is i cannot able to calculate all the value because for the totale value i have to
    write a for loop to loop through the record
    but go_block() is not working in post_change .
    if any solution is there plz suggest.......

    Hi zeeshan
    my problem is i cannot able to calculate all the value because for the total value
    put the total value in a single record block.
    First pls the following...
    Guidelines for Working with Calculated Items Calculated items_
    1- They are display-only control items.
    2-Calculated items cannot be database items.
    3.While you can set a calculated item's Enabled, Mouse Navigate, and Keyboard Navigable properties to Yes,
    you cannot set the Insert Allowed or Update Allowed properties to Yes
    Second Keyword: TOTAL is a reserved oracle key word... pls read the Details...
    go_block() is not working in post_change .well u can use timers but no need for it u can reference block item but first u have to accumulate the values per record in WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM TRIGGER in the last calculated item which is inserted by the user and assign it to the display item in ur current multi-record block :*block_name.total_item*.. as follow...
    :block_name.total_item := :item1 + .... ; Then u create a second display item > no of records property = 1 , named e.g. final_summarized_totals
    In order to summarize this total values accumulated in the multi-record display item named e.g. block_name.total_item
    Finally using PRE-INSERT , PRE-UPDATE,PRE-DELETE Triggers to assign the value calculated into the display item * block_name.total_item* into the db_item into the previously mentioned Trigger Block-Level Off-course.
    :block_name.total_db_tem := :i:block_name.final_summarized_totals ; Hope this helps...

  • How can I create a loop in a multi-record block (on the background)

    I have a multi-record block.
    In one item I change a value.
    Upon this change, in the when-validate-item I would like to
    change other records in the same block.
    I planned to loop the block with go_record and to do my things
    in each record. Unfortunately the go_record built-in is
    restricted and cannot be used in a wvi-trigger.
    Another approach can be to update the records in the database
    and to perform an execute_query after this change. Also this
    procedure cannot be used in a wvi.
    How can I easily loop in a multi-record block???

    You can try to put loop with go_record in KEY-NEXT-ITEM on that
    field.
    Or if you change something and then press KEY-COMMIT you can
    update another records in database and after commit do again
    execute_query. Something like :
    on KEY-COMMIT:
    update_another_records;
    commit_form;
    execute_query;

  • Get next value in a Multi Record Block

    Hi,
    I've a Multi Record block with 2 items like below.
    pos width
    1 7
    8 5
    13 5
    18 2
    ie pos in next item is sum of pos and width of previous item.I've already implemented this.
    The problem is if the user changes width in a particular record,I want to change next records pos automatically.
    To achieve this,I wrote a when-new-record -instance-trigger as follws:
    if :system.cursor_record=1 then
    :pos:=1;
    elsif :system.record_status='changed' then
    :pos:=:pos+:width;
    end if;
    but even Though I change column width of block,:system.record_status still remain 'INSERT'.
    Pls can u pls tell me how can I acheive this?
    Prashanth Deshmukh

    You cannot use Record Status like that.
    You need to create a procedure that loops through your entire block, keeping track of the pos and width of the prior record to calculate the new pos of each record.
    Your procedure would need to do something like this:
    Declare
        v_Pos  pls_integer := 1;
    Begin
      Go_block('B1');
      First_Record;
      Loop
        Exit when :System.record_status='NEW';
        :B1.pos := v_Pos;
        v_Pos := v_Pos + :B1.width;
        Exit when :System.last_record = 'TRUE';
        Next_Record;
      End Loop;
      First_Record;
    End;

  • How to call a report with a bind variable from a multi-record block

    Hi,
    I have created a report using the BI Publisher functionality. I did all the integration, created the SQL Query and uploaded the template. Up till here everythings fine!
    My SQL Query has 2 bind variables.
    I will call my report from a multi record block, at the end of each record an icon is shown which the user can click to open the report.
    I created a column link for this item (PRINT_REPORT=Inschrijvingsformulier) but I do not manage to pass the parameters to my report. The parameters I want to pass are 2 columns in this Multi Record block.
    I created 2 hidden fields on the page P9_PARAMETER1, P9_PARAMETER2 with the same names as my bind variables and fill this in with the values #PARAMETER1#, #PARAMETER2# from the multi record block.
    It seems it does not work as my report stays empty. (also XML file stays empty).
    Am I trying the wrong way?
    Thanks for any advice,
    Kris

    hi khadeer,
         create one report program and write the required code,and call this function module 'SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME' and give your smartform name  and also when u activate ur smart form u will get one function module call that function module also and specify any tables used...
    i think this solves ur problem...

  • How to do validation on multi record block at run time...

    Dear Friends,
    I have to do validation at run time on multi record block.
    If user tries to enter and save two or more records in same multi record block with same data at run time, it should not allow it and display a message like, " error : Records are having same(duplicate) values. "
    I already did validation with the data coming from database table using cursor. But confused about how to do at run time(on one screen only) ??
    Please, give details about how to check duplicate records on form block before saving it to the table ????
    Regarding details would be greatly helpful.
    thanks,

    Hi...Pankaj
    thanx for your reply..
    I already did validation for the data coming from table....
    but I need to do it on form only...at run time...
    exa...
    In one multi record block
    record no : column 1 : column 2 : column 3
    1 abc 123 hi
    2 abc 123 hi
    so it should check on the form itself, here I m not getting data from table...I am just
    navigating from first record to second using down arrow.
    so, may be 2 possibilities.
    1) when user navigates using tab to third record, it should say like two duplicate records.(may be like when validate record or item)
    2) or when user tries to save, it should say two duplicate records.
    so, everyting should take place on form screen only.....
    waiting for your reply,
    thanx...

  • Querying wide (multi-record case) table data in oracle 10g

    I've got a set of "wide" (multi-record case data format) tables similar to the format described in Oracle's "Oracle Data Mining Concepts" book in chapter 2 (http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/datamine.101/b10698/2data.htm#1010394).
    I like the flexibility of this format, especially since it can handle thousands of attributes. But the main problem I have with this format is in determining how to write efficient, complex queries against the data.
    I've included some sample data below to demonstrate my problem. I've got two tables, one with people and the other with the attributes and values of age, income, height and weight. If I try to generate a complex query against this data, I seem to either have to rely on multisets and functions, or on a large number of self joins. Neither of which seems to scale well or perform well for large amounts of data. I know I could also add a pipelined TABLE function to filter the data more, but none of these options seem like great solutions. Does anyone have any ideas for a better way to form complex well performing queries against this type of data layout?
    For example, with my sample data below I'd like to select everyone whose (income = 2000) or (income = 50000 and weight = 210), but the only way I see of doing this is with a query like the following (which won't take advantage of any indexes on the data):
    select * from people_attributes_view
    where find_eq_attr(AttributeValue('income',2000),attribute_values) is not null
    or (find_eq_attr(AttributeValue('income',50000),attribute_values) is not null
    and
    find_eq_attr(AttributeValue('weight',210),attribute_values) is not null);
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    -- My full example starts here ----------------
    -- Create the sample tables and data
    create table people (id int, name varchar(30));
    create table attributes (id int, attribute varchar(10), value NUMBER);
    insert into people values (1,'tom');
    insert into people values (2,'jerry');
    insert into people values (3,'spike');
    commit;
    insert into attributes values (1,'age',23);
    insert into attributes values (1,'income',1000);
    insert into attributes values (1,'height',5);
    insert into attributes values (1,'weight',120);
    insert into attributes values (2,'age',20);
    insert into attributes values (2,'income',2000);
    insert into attributes values (3,'age',30);
    insert into attributes values (3,'income',50000);
    insert into attributes values (3,'weight',210);
    commit;
    -- Create some types, functions and views for the search
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE AttributeValue AS OBJECT
    (attribute varchar(30),
    value NUMBER);
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE AttributeValues AS TABLE OF AttributeValue;
    create or replace function find_eq_attr (val AttributeValue, vals AttributeValues) RETURN AttributeValue IS
    begin
    for i in vals.FIRST .. vals.LAST
    LOOP
    if ((val.attribute = vals(i).attribute) and
    (val.value = vals(i).value)) then
    return vals(i);
    end if;
    END LOOP;
    return null;
    end;
    create or replace view people_attributes_view as
    select p.name, p.id,
    cast(multiset(select attribute,value from attributes a where a.id = p.id)
    as AttributeValues) attribute_values
    from people p;
    -- Search for everyone whose (income = 2000) or (income = 50000 and weight = 210)
    select * from people_attributes_view
    where find_eq_attr(AttributeValue('income',2000),attribute_values) is not null
    or (find_eq_attr(AttributeValue('income',50000),attribute_values) is not null
    and
    find_eq_attr(AttributeValue('weight',210),attribute_values) is not null);

    I like the flexibility of this format, especially
    since it can handle thousands of attributes. But the
    main problem I have with this format is in
    determining how to write efficient, complex queries
    against the data. Can't be done. The flexibility is achieved at the cost of simplicity and performance, it is a trade off.

  • Oracle Forms - need to update multi-record block - Help needed asap

    Hi,
    We are using Oracle apps release 11i - Oracle forms 6i.
    I have a field "project_start_date" in project_block in a custom form. There is another multi-record block called role_block in the same custom form and it has a field named start_date. Requirement is when ever I make change in the project_start_date in project_block, that should reflect in role_block.start_date. I tried different means and could update only the very first record of the multi-record block - role_block. I need to update all the records in the role_block with the same project_start_date. Used looping and several other methods. But could not achieve. Any help is really appreciated.

  • Writing waveforms from Ch. 0 of niSCOPE to binary file in a multi-record setup?

    Hello,
    I am not very experienced with niSCOPE and writing waveform records, so I need some expert help here.
    Here is my application:
    I am generating a pulse train using a 6602 counter/timer. Each rising edge of this pulse train triggers an niFGEN to generate a single sawtooth waveform output to another device and, at the same time, acquiring data from Ch. 0 of an niSCOPE. I am fetching one record per rising edge of the pulse train for the niSCOPE (multi-record setup).
    The attached VI is where I am at thus far. All triggering and reading/fetching of the waveforms seems to be working just fine when testing with an oscilloscope. I now need to save each waveform record along with the timestamp of its rising edge trigger to a binary file. The bottom of the VI is where my attempt is at saving the waveforms to a binary file, so the attention should be there when looking at it.
    I am running LabVIEW from a computer connected to the NI PXI-Chassis using a cross-over cable.
    Questions:
    1.) Do I need to convert the data coming in on Ch. 0 of the niSCOPE to digital? Does it come in as analog from an oscilloscope? If I need to do this, how can I accomplish this?
    2.) When I try to run an example VI to write a waveform to a binary file by choosing "My Computer" in the bottom left of the VI window, it works it saves the file just fine. When I change this to run on "PXI2", a file is not even created and I get an error on File Dialog (code# 7, I think) each time the file is attempted to be closed. This may be a stupid question, but why can I not save data to a file on my computer if running the VI on "PXI2"?
    3.) Assuming the saving of each waveform to a binary file is working (read: (2) is successfully addressed), how can I also write the timestamp of the starting trigger for the waveform along with the waveform in the binary file? An example VI of how I can accomplish this would be fantastic, but I haven't been able to find one thus far.
    4.) When I was messing around and trying to accomplish this, it seemed that doing this writing may slow down the entire process too much. I need to record data to the extent of the sawtooth waveform generated by the niFGEN AWG for each trigger. Is there any changes I should make to my acquisition process in the niSCOPE section so that I can read each waveform, along with keeping the timestamp for each, and write this information to a binary file?
    I need to get this working quickly, so any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Thank you so much for your reply, David. Let me try and explain my
    situation and setup a little better, as well as discuss the points you
    made in your reply. Beware, you may want to refill your coffee as this
    post is long .
    I am using an embedded controller in a PXI-1044 chassis. I now have the
    chassis hooked up to our local network, and I am deploying my project
    to the chassis over the network as I am also connected to the local
    network. I have an oscilloscope next to me that takes as input the
    pulse train for a trigger and the generated sawtooth from the niFGEN
    for each trigger (rising edge of the pulse train from the 6602
    counter). Just to make sure synchronization is taking place, the
    sawtooth is also fed as input to the niSCOPE for acquisition.
    "PXI2" is what shows up when I choose to run a VI on the PXI chassis
    rather than "My Computer"; not sure why the 2 is there either, but that
    is what it says. I may have tracked down the issue I was having with
    writing, but more about that a little later...
    The attached VI is an update, although not much has changed. My
    application design is like this (keep in mind that some values for VI's
    are still constants in the block diagram while others are controls on
    the front panel): I am using the 6602 to generate a 1 KHz pulse train
    and routing this pulse train to PXI_Trigger0/RTSI0. I am also using the
    PXI_Clock (10) as a sample clock for this, and also using this same
    clock as the reference clock for both the 5422 and the 5124 (as per the
    synchronization help file mentioned for synchronizing multiple
    devices). Both the 5422 and the 5124 are triggered by a digital rising
    edge (from the pulse train) on PXI_Trigger0/RTSI0 (as it was routed
    there). For each trigger, the niFGEN generates a sawtooth waveform
    using a stepped trigger mode and outputs it. For each trigger, the
    niSCOPE acquires data. They are both synchronous, which is tough to see
    since one has its trigger source on the front panel and the other has
    its trigger source on the block diagram. All devices use PXI_Clock so
    they are synchronized.
    The expected behavior is to only generate a single sawtooth waveform
    per trigger with a certain number of sample points. I want to acquire
    the same number of samples using the niSCOPE, which is what I meant by
    "the extent of the waveform" in my previous post. So, should I change
    the 8192 to 1000 for the number of samples for the niSCOPE? What would
    you recommend for the sampling rate? I have been using 5 MHz for the
    niFGEN and 5 MHz for the niSCOPE...this is how it should be done,
    correct? If it is different in the VI, please let me know. For some
    reason, I have to adjust all of the values each time I open it since
    the default values are not the ones I want.
    I want to generate and acquire one waveform per trigger (one waveform
    per record). However, I want to be able to record a large number of
    records so I have enabled the circular buffer-like treatment of the
    acquired waveforms. The 100 or 1000 records is actually just a number I
    am giving it for now to make sure it is working before recording many
    more records.
    As for saving the niSCOPE data, I would like to save all data in a
    single file that is NOT ascii (to save space). I have been looking at
    the HWS file format, and would like to use it. I think the attached VI
    includes this at the bottom of the while loop. For each trigger, I
    would like to save the time (as accurate as possible) that the trigger
    occurred for the record/waveform, which appears to be (absoluteInitialX
    - relativeInitialX) as you said in your post (thanks!). I just need to
    store as much information about the waveform and time information for
    it as possible with the waveform in the file. So it looks like I will
    need to use the wfm info for that information, providing portions of it
    as waveform attributes in the HWS VI's?
    What format of data do you recommend I fetch, and will I be fetching a
    "Single waveform" or "Multiple waveforms"? Should I use I32, DBL, WDT,
    or other for the format? A balance between good precision in values and
    time it takes to fetch/record would be best.
    Given all of the above, I am having one troube with saving data to a
    file. As a reminder, I am deploying the project to the chassis over the
    network. When I choose a location and/or file to save the HWS data to,
    I only get choices that are on the PC's hard disk (such as C:\Documents
    and Settings\cgifford\...) NOT the chassis's hard disk. When I choose
    something other than "C:\" I get an error that the file could not be
    opened. However, when I choose "C:\" everything goes fine. The saved
    data is nowhere to be found on my PC though, so I am assuming that it
    is being stored on the internal 60G hard disk in the chassis that must
    be named "C" by default or something!?
    I have been told by phone support that I should be able to make a
    direct connection with the chassis just like another PC, and should be
    able to access the information on its internal hard disk in a drag and
    drop fashion. I however cannot directly connect to the PXI chassis to
    get the data that has been saved on the hard disk. We are running
    Windows XP on the PC. We did some poking around and noticed that the
    chassis is not running Windows file sharing, and only has ftp and http
    running. We tried to access it using ftp, but we didn't have a username
    and password to supply it. So, how can we enable Windows file sharing
    on the chassis? How can I connect to it to do drag and drop to get
    saved waveform data off of it? This is the main problem I am now
    facing. Eventually we would like to store data to an external hard disk
    connected to the chassis, which assumes that I can have access to the
    internal storage to tell it to save files to the external hard disk.
    For now saving it to the internal hard disk is just fine until
    everything is proven to work, but I would like to get the data off of
    the internal hard drive to put on another computer.
    Any answers/suggestions on my above questions are greatly appreciated.
    I also want to thank you for reading this long post . I eagerly await
    a reply. Thanks again in advance.

  • Problem in displaying records in multi record block

    Hi all,
    I have a problem in displaying records in a multi record block in a form.
    I have 1 control block and 1 data block(multi-record block).
    Control block has one item CUSTOMER-ID. Data block has many other items related to customer.
    when a value is entered in customer-id text item, all the relavant details should be displayed in the data block.
    but, the records are overlapping in the same line in the data block, actually they have to be displayed one record per one line.
    The code is,
    IF :CUST_BLOCK.CUST_ID IS NOT NULL THEN
    GO_BLOCK('XBSI_CONTRACT_PRICE_FACTORS');
    FOR C1 IN C
    LOOP

  • Clear form not working in multi record form 10g.

    I have a multi record block form, when sys_indicator is 'Y' in any of the records, user should not be able to delete this record. In Pre_delete trigger, I put this code
    below.
    IF :CST_REFERENCE_CODE.SYS_INDICATOR = 'Y'
         THEN
         MESSAGE('You cannot delete this record. Consult your Administrator');
         MESSAGE(' ');
         CLEAR_FORM(NO_VALIDATE);           EXECUTE_QUERY;
    --     RAISE FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE;
         END IF;
    I want to clear form an re_query, but the clear form is not working. Help

    CLEAR_FORM is a restricted built-in and is not allowed on PRE-DELETE trigger.
    the purpose of PRE-DELETE trigger is to do some validation before the actual delete happens and may be delete the child records before the master record can be sucessfully deleted.
    it will be better if you could explain that why you need some different functionality on PRE-DELETE trigger, which looks strange. Like, user is trying to delete the record and you want to restrict user from deleting the record if some condition is met and want to re-query. what is the main purpose of doing query here again or why you want to clear the form.

  • BPM + MDM Multi record creation

    Hi everyone!
    We are developing Master Data Governance scenario with MDM + BPM. The key concept is creation, update and approval of MDM record in a BPM process. Tasks are human based.
    So we came upon the following question.
    Is it possible somehow to model the process in the way that Create Record task will include multi record creation. So that the user can create several records at once (one by one) - and they will then be maintained in a single process instance. It's also perfect if the user will see prior created records (during that specific process run of course) on his screen in a task UI. For example when user is creating the third record he can refer to previous two that he has already created while performing that task.
    I must note that we are using CE 7.2 so that we don't have access to BPM API. That's a limitation.
    Any guidelines or ideas on that case will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    We have successfully implemented one such scenario. I hope you are using WDCs.
    You can follow this approach:
    1) Take ResultSet and ItemDetails WDC in wrapper DC application.
    2) You can create record in ItemDetails and save it in MDM.
    3) Retreive the record id of created record by ItemDetailsInterface.getRecord.getid
    4) Set this record id in ResultSet's context i.e. RecordIDs.
    5) Follow the same process again and you will have multiple records created. Also user can see the records created in the process.
    6) While passing them, get the array of records from ResultSets context, you can read it and store it as a comma separated string context while passing to BPM.
    7) In the, lets say, Approver screen, retrieve this comma separated stream of records and set again as a array in ResultSet of an Approver.
    This way you can have multiple records created in a single process.

  • Check box in a multi record block

    I have a multi record block that has a check box. I need to be able to go to the first record on the block, go through each row and check to see if it's selected. I will then get all the rows that were selected and passed it as a parameter in a package.I have already declared a global variable in the package to get all the rows selected.
    Can anyone please help.

    Hi
    This is my solution for your problem. If I understand correctly as you have to post the selected records from form to journal entry (a server operation). What you need to do is in your Oracle Forms multi record block construct a loop which goes from first record to last record of your data block, capture the selected records (wherever the check box is CHECKED ON) into a PL/SQL table structure (PL/SQL table is quite simillar to Oracle Forms RECORD GROUP structure, but more versatile as it can be recognized on the back end too).
    Once you populate the PL/SQL table with the selected record, pass the PL/SQL table itself as parameter to your package.
    Open the PL/SQL table in your destination code and do further processing with those selected records !!
    Hope this will work !!

  • Setting background color in multi record block

    Hi all!
    I've a table with around 150 records of colors with html-color-names and rgb codes.
    I would like to have a sample item in my form 9.0.4 to display the color as a preview for
    each record in a multi-record block when querying the table.
    I would not like to create a visual attribute for each color. So display_item() is no choice.
    (except: somebody show me how to create va's with the japi)
    Somebody knows a way to accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance and regards

    Here's a solution which should work :
    1. Use a mirror item for the numeric item which has to
    be displayed
    using the format mask based on value in column1
    The data type of the mirror item : Char
    X and Y co-ordinates : Same as the item
    on which it is
    mirrored
    Size and Height : Same as the item
    on which it is
    mirrored
    2. On normal display, Mirror item is displayed
    3. When Mouse-Click or Pre-Text Item trigger on the
    Mirror Item :
    - Use the Go_Item ('Actual Numeric Item');
    This will bring up the Numeric Item and the Mirror
    item goes in hiding
    - A VWI trigger on Numeric Item should Then be :
    If ( :col1 = 'A' ) Then
    :Mirror_Item :=
    To_char(:NumericItem, ',999,999.99');
    Else
    :Mirror_Item :=
    To_char(:NumericItem, '99999999');
    End If;
    4. A key-Next-Item (On Numeric Item) or other trigger ??
    should then
    use Go_Item (:Mirror Item) to bring forward the
    formatted numeric item
