Multible displays same brand/model on different locations

I run maveriricks on my MBP mid 2013 with two Dell 27" Displays via the display port, one at the office but and one at home. For various reasons i use a different rotation and screen posission (left/right side of the mb). For some strange reason is OSX not able to distinguish between the to setups even though is register the two displays with different SN?

There have been some changes in the contacts on the supplies, but this should not cause any issues in printing.
I would suggest you try the troubleshooting steps in this document. If that does not resolve the issue then the post here may help.

What is the best way to work on the same InDesign file in different locations?

I'm the creative director for an in-house creative department. We produce 37 catalogs and a multitude of print and electronic advertising each year, plus a variety of other items. Our problem is that we have two locations. In the current set-up, if I want someone at one location to work on a project but the files are at the other location, I have someone at the one location package all the materials involved with that project and either upload them to DropBox or copy them to an external drive and ship it. Not very efficient.
We have servers at both locations but there are different files at each location. I'm able to remote from my computer into a computer at the other location, but if everyone were to do that we would need double the number of CC subscriptions and computers, and it would bog down the internet connection that the entire company uses. I'm also connected to the server at the other location (again, over the internet) and have opened InDesign files that reside on the server there and tried to work on them here (over the internet) but that is much slower than remoting in.
The only way I can think of to alleviate this problem is to run duplicate servers at each location, but this would be an update and back-up nightmare (unless I'm missing something). Is anyone operating this same way and, if so, how are you dealing with it?
We can't be the only company that works like this. Maybe I'm just missing something.

One tiny thing bothers me about your setup. And you said it above, you would need double the number of CC subscriptions and computers. Are you using two people to access under the same CC subscription. Even if they are working in two different time zones, it is technically violating the rules and spirit of the rules of being able to install on two machines at the same time.
You're allowed to install for two machines for one person working at the office and then at home. One person wouldn't be in two different locations at the same time.
Meanwhile, regards your problem, I remember reading about a system many years ago that was pretty simple. It was based on an old newspaper/magaizine system of "who has the folder." (Created before computers) In the old days, if someone was working on a file, they left a folder with their name in its place.
In the computer age, one person, working on a file, would move it to their desktop. Then, they would leave an empty folder with that document's name where it had been as well as their initials. So if I took "Shoes and Socks Fall 2015.indd" out, I would leave a folder named "Shoes and Socks Fall 2015_smsc" in its place.
And if it was necessary for me to have the images, I would make a copy of them onto my machine so I wouldn't tax the network. Then when I was finished, I would copy the file back to the server. The links should show up. If not, we could relink later.
With the empty folder on the server, anyone could tell who is working on a project. So if they were late getting it back, you could email them.
It relies on the people being disciplined enough to make the folders, move the docs, etc. But since you've ruled out all the systems for companies with dumb employees, you're going to have to make them follow the rules.

Is this possible to show two tables in each report row? When i set selection formula to product name, it sets the same selection formula to all the fields in the report.

Can't you set the group to be on the category? Selecting the product name in the record selection formula will present only those product (as opposed to categories).
A subreport, as suggested, will work as well, but your stated record selection will continue to produce the same results - check that, too. Additionally, you could group on the category and add a group 'b' section (Section Expert; see the Help file).

Why do some websites only show the headings and not the rest of the page? I was on the same website at a different location and it had discriptions for the words.

When in ma-vitalrecords.org, I put in the county and town and then went to the names. It pulls up the last name, but the rest of the information does not show, such as the child's name, date of birth, and parents. When I am at the library or other's homes, this information shows. This is not the only website that this does this. Sometimes if I hover the arrow over where the words should be, I can see the information down in the status bar. On the above website it did not.

I have the same experience. I've been narrowing down causes, but it's NOT because you're not connected to Wifi. It seems to be intermittent. For expample, I'm connected to WIFI right now. Some messages or pix that were viewable yesterday are not viewable now and others aren't. All of the messages and their attachments are available from my laptop. If I try again later, I'll be able to see different downloads than what I can see now. What's odd is all of them worked just right a few weeks ago

How to display same screen with two different options!!

Hi All,
I have created a new entry form where user can enter a new record by selecting from combo select list or manua entry text fields. The same screen has to be used in two ways.
New entry screen. and once user enetr data clik on sumbit it will insert into database.
But when the user click on "View" button i need to display the same screen but with existing data insted of empty fields.
How to achieve this in teh same screen, insated of creating duplicate screen.

Hi,
Try to use form on a report with report on page 1 and form on page 2.
When the user clicks edit icons he will be directed to page to to see the values that are entered, make sure form is not updatable.
If the user clicks create from page 1 then he will be directed to page 2 where he can enter data to insert new record.
If you need in more detail, explain the scenario how you want, so that I can create an example for you.

All of a sudden Safari cannot connect to server when I go on certain websites. But when I tried these websites on the same computer from a different location they opened fine.

I used to go on several websites without a problem, one being www.udel.edu/udsis but now all of a sudden when I try to open these websites it says "Safari can't connect to server". At first I thought my computer had the problem, but when I tried the other mac in my house I had the same issue. The next day I visited family in another state and brought my computer with me, I typed those website addresses in and they opened without a problem. But now I'm back at home and I still can't open those websites. What gives?

Leads one to suspect an ISP issue. Yours. Perhaps for the moment though. In any case I like to use OpenDNS servers for safety and speed.
System Preferences>Network>Advanced>DNS
In the left side column click on the + sign and insert the following:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Click OK, then click Apply.

Displaying same JSP page with different views based on BOB and B2B scenario

I have a requirement where, in the orderstatusdetails.jsp i want to add a button only for a BOB(OOB) scenario but not for the B2B scenario. I know how to display diffenretly by adding the code
mybom.getShop().getscenario()
in the action class i use and putting the codintion OOB or B2B but How can i code in JSP for this requirement? Can you please help me how to do it?

Almost anything you can do in a Java class can be done in a JSP - but it is always recommended you do less of coding in the JSP. But this is an exception you can do in the JSP
All the inport classes required for this piece of code you have referred can be added to the page import in JSP. For example if you need the class UserSessionData then

will do the job in the JSP. Once you have all the required imports then it is just a matter of adding the piece of code in a Java scriptlet to get the scenario.

Songs from same cd show in different locations

When I import a cd that may have one song that is performed with another artist, it places it in my library on its own. How can I put it back with the other songs. Playing the album in iTunes, the track does not play with the rest of the songs.

SQL Server two database at two different locations

Hi Guys,
We are having same database at two different locations (Database A with Sqlserver 2008/Express, database B with Sqlserver 2012).
Our requirement is when ever a row is inserted in a table of Database A from location 1. Same value should also be added in Server 2 at different location.
So that at any point of time both the database base values should be same.
Which is the best method to do it ?

Could you please give more information about the editions of SQL Server? Is SQL 2012 express as well?
Do you also need udpates/deletes to be moved to another server? Also do you want changes in SQL 2012 to be moved to 2008 as well?
With Express edition you have very limited options.

Albums appear in different locations

I have quite a few various artist albums in my library, some appear under V and other appear at the end on the collection after numbered artists (10cc, 10000 Maniacs etc) information in album info appears to be the same for albums in different locations and source files. Not a massive problem I know but frustrating!

Same Editing domain for different model descriptor

Background :
We have three different Ecore model A, B, C
where C holds reference to A and B
where B holds reference to A
Each model have there own editors and serialized to individual files.
Issue facing or not clear:
We are using Sphinx framework, where we have defined there own model-descriptors for A,B and C
On trying to retrieve the editingdoamin,
i.e TransactionalEditingDomain getEditingDomain(IModelDescriptor modelDescriptor)
it returns different for eobjects of A, B and C.
Due to this undo/redo and sync of the UI not happening.
Is it possible to get one common or shared editingdomain for all the model. Any hints would be helpful.

It is very strange that you end up with different editing domains for your 3 Ecore models. Normally, when you have set up a correctly configured metamodel descriptor, Sphinx ALWAYS loads ALL files that contain instances of the metamodel in question into the SAME workspace-wide shared transactional editing domain.
In order to be able to help you, I need to know more details about what you have done and intend to do:

Byre : We have modelled three different custom model using ecore_diagram, to our domain requirement like manager.ecore, dependent.ecore and configure.ecore
depenedent.ecore has reference to manager.ecore i.e Eobject in depenedent referes to Eobject in manager

Do you mean IMetaModelDescriptors? The IModelDescriptors are automatically created by Sphinx and don't need to be provided by adapters.

Byre : To be more precise we have eclipse project, where all the three models resides. Via Navigator when try to open the models which would open in their respective individual form editors.
i,e Manger Editor, Dependent Editor and Configuration Editor
Exact problem : We have certain data of manger editor displayed in configuration editor, now via EMF command if any changes made related to manager model in configuration editor it does not updates the value in manager editor or makes that editor dirty.
On analyzing deeper we found the each editor had its own editing doamin which executed commands on respective editing domain stacks.

Byre : Yes, On digging deeper we saw that it invokes ModelDescriptor(IMetaModelDescriptor mmDescriptor, TransactionalEditingDomain editingDomain, IResourceScope resourceScope) thrice for each model browsed.

As I said, this is the default behavior of Sphinx. When everything is alright then it is hardly possible to make it happen that Sphinx loads instance files of the same metamodel into different editing domains.

Vista Recovery crashed, Both the model is same, just OS are different.

My model no is HP Pavilion Slimline s3760in Desktop PCs. My PC came with the pre-installed windows vista home premium 32-bit. i had problem with the dvd writer and it has been replaced recently and dvd is working fine.
When the writer was in defect at that time i have inserted the recovery disc into the dvd drive and wanted to recover my system to the factory settings. there was problem in writing/burning but atleast the dvd rom was able to read it therefore i thought the recover will work but unfortuantely it dint create any recovery to my system into factory settings and when i ejected the dvd i found that scatched has been created on it. the recovery set of dvd has gone and it is unable to use it at all.
It has formatted the partition and it was unable to progress further.
At present i am unable to recover my system from RECOVERY DVD neither from Hard disk. Unable to use F11 recovery. Both are corrupted.
My friend has purchased same desktop model i.e. s3760in , but he has received pre-installed windows 7.
Therefore i want to know that if i bring his recovery disc and install it from the dvd.
q1] then will i get windows 7 and recovery manager for windows 7 or not?
q2] will it will work or not ?
Both the model is same, only OS are different.
please reply asap, as i need to fix this problem.

Hello Varadar, As far as I know, there is no such thing as a HP Master disk for a HP Recovery Restore. If the customer creates a set of HP Recovery Restore Disk and they are faulty and the D: Recovery partition is corrupted as well, then the customer can order a set of HP Recovery Restore disk from HP if they are still available for his system.
HP makes these disk available for just a few years. If these are no longer available the customer would have to purchase a Retail version of the operating system and any other software they may want.
The HP Recovery Restore disk are made from the software that has been installed on the system when the system was built, so almost every system will have different software.
The data code the is copied to the HP Recovery Restore Disk set is located in the BIOS of each system and relates to the serial number of the system. That is the key, the serial number of the computer.
When the HP Recovery Restore disk are used to restore a system, the Recovery Restore disk will read the BIOS for the correct serial number, before it will continue.
If you were to order the HP Recovery Disk set for a particular system, you would be required to provide the exact Model and Serial number for the system, and then HP could look into their database and determine what software was installed on that machine and then create a set of HP Recovery Restore disk for that serial numbered machine.
If your hard drive were to become faulty and under warranty, HP would look up the serial number of your system and determine the software that was shipped with this system and then install the software on a hard drive, and if the customer had the capacity to replace the hard drive, HP would ship a new hard drive with the D: Recovery partition already created, and the customer would install the new hard drive.
If the customer did not have the ability or knowledge to change a hard drive, the system would have to be sent back to HP for the hard drive replacement.
This is done to prevent pirating of the software and certain legal obligations to the providers of the software, such as Microsoft.
There is simply no way around this. Many have tried and all have failed. This is by design.

Why does PSE 10 Organizer jumble up photos on the same date from different locations ?

I have PSE 10 installed on a PC with Windows 7. My camera is a Nikon D90 using a Sandisk 8 gb SD card. When I take photos at different locations on the same date and download them into the Organizer , instead of keeping the photos from the different locations together by location, it jumbles them all up. It does not keep them in order by time taken from first to last for that day , it just mixes them all up in random order. Why ?

When you use Albums and Keyword Tags, you aren't moving the images around (they stay in their folders) - you just look at them differently.
What you can try is this:-
1) select one of your folders in folder view so that it displays all of those images in filename order
2) click on the instant album button (to the top right of the thumbnails)
This will generate an album with the same name as the folder
3) Now switch to Thumbnail view
4) click on the new albumb name on the right side
Now, all the images should be in date/time order - you may have adjust the options
The real power of the Keywrd Tags is the many different ways you can look at the images.
If you have a Keyword Tag structure like this:-
Places
     Scotland
            Holyrood
            Britania
Then if you assign the Holyrood and britania tags to the appropiate photos, there are various ways of viewing the photos.
Selecting just Holyrood would show only the Holyrood ones
Selecting Scotland would show both Holyrood and Britania ones.
The only limit seems to be your own imagination

Can 2 people in different locations at the same time import, access, send, and receive the same messages from the same email account

I import messages into Thunderbird. I send and receive emails. One of the things I like about Thunderbird is that I can insert (image, link, etc) right where I want to, and I can Attach. But not just a simple attach file. No, I can also click Attach and choose Webpage. A lot of web-based emails are plain, simple, no frills - Attach file and that's it.
So I need to have my client be able to do the same thing I do when sending out emails, Namely sending out emails with an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) attached - which is to say, a webpage (not a pdf in our case). So, I need her to download, install, and use Thunderbird.
Here's the problem and my question. She needs to access, send, and receive from my email account. That would be easy if it was simple attach files - she could just login on the web, go to squirrel mail and bang it out.. Here it is: She needs to be able to import the messages to be able to reply to some messages - she needs access to what I have access to. She needs to use Thunderbird so she can take advantage of the features like insert image with link or attaching a webpage. My question is how will this affect my use? Can 2 people simultaneously and from different locations access and use the same email account or is it a case where her importing the emails would cut me off..Is it an either or thing? Basically, can her and I both import the emails or can they only be imported to one location at a time. Because every time someone sends me an email i get it right there on my Thunderbird application..it's imported to my Thunderbird..I want her and I to be able to do that without affecting each other. I don't want her to start importing to her desktop and then I can no longer import. If she says "point those messages to my computer what will happen to my ability to access them on my computer in the same manner I am currently?

I think there is a contradiction in your requirements. You want two people to share an account and you don't want either to interfere with the other.
The short and simple answer is to use IMAP to connect to the mail server. If your current email provider doesn't offer IMAP, find another that does. This is old technology already and it's disgraceful that some email providers haven't yet put it in place.
IMAP means that your messages are stored on the server and both of you will see exactly the same set of messages. And therein lies the contradiction; you will both see changes made by the other so you are inherently interfering with one another.
Caveats: some providers may not permit you both to access the account concurrently, and even if they do, things may become interesting if you both choose to work on the same message simultaneously.
Note that all of this is about email servers and protocols; your choice of Thunderbird as your email client has little bearing on the situation.
