Multifolio Apps and Free issues

Hi
My question is about Multi-folio apps for the iPad (AppStore).
I understand that there may be a Free issue at least in the app when it starts selling in the AppStore, and then one is adding retail folios as "in-app purchases".
But then, after one or several of these retail issues are added, is it possible to remove the free one? Would Apple refuse or remove my multifolio App if I do so?
Are all free issues counting as regular downloads for the sake of DPS Professional (and paying for them) or only retail ones?

Yes, you can remove any issue be it free or retail. Most publishers keep it going as a preview issue in the app to promote retail folio sales.
Yes, Free folios count as regular download and get deducted from your folio downloads balance.

Mail.app and Gmail issue

Hi, I am using Gmail (Google Apps) and Apple Mail 3.5. Everything works fine except sending messages. Sent messages are stored in sent folder (right) BUT also in trash folder. Why? Any tips how to set correctly (Sent mail only to Sent folder)? Thank you,

Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same problem except that it copies the sent message about 10 times to my trash folder. I am using gmail imap and the sent message also appears (10 times) in the trash folder when I access my email on the web.

Mail.app and Exchange issue

Hello. I have 7 exchange accounts (45,000 letters in them) in my mail.app and every day i have a problem that mail.app delete all messages and start downloading it form server. Can any one help me with this problem.
p.s. on the other macbook i have 1 exchage account with 18.000 messages and it works fine.
Is this problem because to many exchange accounts or to many messages or because i use VPN for take mail from this accounts? Help me please.

I can't even get the Exchange Mailbox to appear in Mail.app. The same account works for Calendar and Reminders (Tasks). Configuring as an "Other" type account also does not work. Instead I end up with an IMAP style account that can't be deleted from mail.app.

Free Subscription App with free issues equals empty Viewer?

Starting to sandbox our Newsstand issue, but the issue is not showing up in the viewer?
Professional DPS Account with Admin/production and development access using CS6
Here are my steps:
Created a preview issue (folio #1)
This is Free and Public
Created App using DPS App Builder
App type is Multi Folio with iTunes Subscription
Free Subscription
Created App ID in iTunes Connect
In-App Purchase is set to Free Subscription
Enabled Newssstand
Added a new Issue in iTunes Connect under the Manage Newsstand button
Pointed iTunes Connect to this new issue AD (folio #2)
Assigned the correct Certificates and Mobile Provisionings
Back into the DPS App Builder to generate .ipa file
downloaded .ipa file and sandbox on test user iPad
I see the subscription tiles in my Viewer
Click on Subscription tile
Empty Viewer

I'm not quite following. I have the app created and ready in iTunes Connect--it is a "multi-folio with iTunes subscription" and is enabled for Newsstand. The free subscription product ID in App Builder matches the Apple ID in iTunes Connect.
We wish to launch the app with an older issue (folio) and we'll publish the current issue in the coming days. All of the issues that will be available in this app will be free. And we would obviously like the users to be notified when a new issue is available.
Do I not need an in-app purchase for this older issue--the one that will be available immediately? As I have it now, in iTunes Connect, I click on the "manage in-app purchases" and I have this first, older issue that is ready to submit. And in the "manage newsstand" section I don't have any issues.
Is this correct?

Tap picture in Photos App and rotate - issue / Pls help

Subject: iPhone 3Gs / 4.0.1
Application: Photos App (default Apple application)
Issue: tapping landscape pictures with phone in vertical position and rotate them goes on black screen
Description:
I am with iphone in normal (vertical position) and i go to photos app in order to scroll some pictures that were taken in landscape position.
Everything is normal. I double tap it in order to zoom it.
I rotate the phone in landscape position and the screen goes BLACK.
I rotate it in portrait mode and picture is back on screen.
Question: where is the problem ?
Tests results:
I tried to make several tests to identify the problem.
Before I want to say that i tried restore / reset / etc.
1. The pictures that are taken in portrait mode are not affected on double tap and rotate thing.
2. Works if you zoom manualy (not by double tap) and scroll to a corner of a landscape picture before you rotate the phone.
I add that any other application works fine on rotate / zoom / etc even photos app works OK if i dont double tap the picture before i rotate it.
Still after the tests i am not able to identify where is the problem so i ask the comunity if can help me to identify it.

Companion app and more issues (Yoga 13 in Japanese version)

this is a feedack for Lenovo ideapad Yoga 13 Japanese version.
because i do not know where I can find the feedback web form about lenovo products. Does anyones know where it is? even if the language of the web form is english, it is o.k.
Among start app, i see the app named Companion.
But after registration, it does not say the name "conpanion" and says , like,

wwhat is "%s"?
i guess it is variable.
and also after clicking the app, there are too many broken links.
About broken links, i said on the phone several times(in Japan support)
but they did not think it important.
and also they did not know we can register by "Companion" app.
well i am writing here daringly since these days the quality of Lenovo support staff in japan is really poor.

Sounds like you have a clunker configured in december. I think sometime in January they defaulted dimming to off... anyway you can go into power management 32 menus deep and reduce the sensitivity (basically turn off IIRC). The sleep failure was a big topic here months ago (altho I didn't have it) and I forget what the remedy was... you can check old posts. You should update windows, which solved a bunch of things and introduces a bug or two. You can update your bios which was just made available this may... I just did it and at least it didn't seem to hurt.
I can't understand why you have used it only as a laptop... the universe has been waiting for billions of years to free itself from the slavery of laptops and into the freedom of tablets with screens big enough to be useable. Never ever ever ever use it as a laptop, except every 5 minutes when win8 is too crippled to reasonably do a certain step in touch mode. If you can tolerate a laptop, buy one and donate your precious yoga to someone who can appreciate tablets in spite of any faults.

Default mail app and gmail issues

Hi, I recently got fed up with Google denying us the possibility to switch off the dreaded conversation view. So - I switched to using the default Sony email app connected to my gmail account. Two issues:
When I delete a mail after reading it will often (not always) reappear in the inbox later. Gmail has two options for what will happen when deleting messages, both produce the same error. Didn't happen with the gmail app.
Scrolling when reading a mail is horribly slow.
Anyone have any tips?

The Gmail app is a direct link to Gmail so deleting from the Gmail app will delete said email however from the default email app that is simply put a forwarding address so the email will not be deleted - It may be deleted or made exempt from future sync'ing but you often find that if the email hasn't fully loaded then it will be seen as unread and will reappear

Ios 8 mail app and music issues

AFter installing ios8 my mail app has practically stopped working. The mails are just not opening. I have to go to safari to hotmail instead. Then i uploaded a lot of music last night and realised this morning not all songs synced. And i tried to add them today but it wont let me!! Really annoyed. Updated to ios 8.0.2 this morning and nothing has changed or improved. So annoyed now . Apple when will these issues be sorted??

Oh, I had the same problem with the music. I had told it to sync all of my music, but it didn't.
To solve this, I went to the "Music" tabs, unticked "Sync Music", then apply it (yes, this will delete the music off the iPhone). Then (even though it looks like the music is still there), Then tick the "Sync Music" and apply that, and it should sync the music

Desktop App and Messenger issue

My husband and I both have blackberrys and we both use the same desktop app for PC. On Monday I set up my new blackberry Bold 9700 and synced my Outlook contacts with the phone. Somehow it put my husbands BBM contacts on my phone and now his don't work on his phone. How do I fix this? I've already tried uninstalling the app from my phone and reinstalling it and it brought back all his contacts again on my phone, I guess it thinks that my phone is his. He has a Storm (the first one released) if that's any help.
Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated

4.1 Update. Freezing apps and Other issues

This 4.1 has given me nothing but trouble on my 3GS. Apps constantly
Freeze and crash. I use a stereo cable in my Mazda to play music and
All it does is skip to end of song then back to middle and play random
Parts of songs then it skips to another song. Also voice control appears out
Of nowhere without me touching the phone.
HELLLLLLLLLPPPP !!!!!!!!!!

I am also experiencing app freezes, especially with the New York Times app which no longer seems capable of getting through a reading session without two freezes.
But I also having a lot of app that just quit without warning.
I hope this is something that is on the To-Do list for iOS 4.2

Multifolio app and password protected pubblications

Hi,
I made a DPS Multi-folio app with all the pubblications I need: now the client is asking me to protect by password some of this pubblications.
Reading the documentation I don't understand how to get this: somebody could please explain me ho to get this?
Otherwise the only solution I see is to create new multiple single edition apps, one per folio (but this is too complex to mantain in the future).
I hope somebody can help me with this,

Mail.app and attachments issues after security update

Hi there
just installed latest security update (via software update) and now when i try to attach any file to an email, I get the spinning beach ball.
have tried rebooting and zapping the pram
anyone experienced similar or have an idea what might have happened?

Hi ben.
This could be caused by some Launch Services cache or preferences corruption. The following article describes how to manually reset Launch Services -- the notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved:

If you prefer using a cache cleaning utility instead of following the manual procedure described in the previous article, this other article provides links to some utilities that can be used for troubleshooting and cache cleaning:

It seems that the most appropriate utility for solving this particular problem is Tiger Cache Cleaner, but you may also want to consider other utilities, such as OnyX, or Cache Out X, which are free. Whatever utility you choose, be sure to read this first:

1. Quit all applications.

Remote App and iTunes issue

I have a Windows MC machine I'm using in my living room. I recently had to reinstall Windows because I was having some minor issues. After reinstalling, I downloaded iTunes. Everything is great, but my iPhone is not showing up as a device in iTunes. My iPhone remote is working on all of my Mac just fine... but my PC just wont see it. I've disabled the firewall, set all the preferences as needed... EVERYTHING SEEMS right. iTunes is seeing shared libraries... it just doesn't see my remote. Please help!

You could try this.
Back up all data.Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Reboot and test. If there's no change, restore the item you deleted from a backup, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Otherwise, you may need to recreate some of your settings in the Network preference pane.
