Multipkg - A fork of unipkg

Unfortunately, about a month or two ago, the terrible truth dawned upon me - not every GNU/Linux user uses Arch Linux.
Because of this, when packaging software, you have to bundle packages for Ubuntu, Fedora, and most of the other major flavours of GNU/Linux as well.
However, after discovering unipkg, I decided to modify it to give it much more functionality.
AUR Link
unipkg really is just a modified version of makepkg.  Because I currently don't know how to make a man page, here's a nice list of what I've added to makepkg 3.4.1, or unipkg 1.0:
--forcearch <architecture> - This enables you to force a certain architecture to be written to the package even if it is not your own package.  It is the maintainer's responsibility to ensure that this actually compiles for that architecture by modifying the PKGBUILD and makefiles to compile for that architecture (generally intended for 64-bit systems).
--nobuild - This does not run the build function when building a package.  Useful when you've already built the files for a package but want to use them in multiple packages.  When -f is used alongside this option, the pkg/ directory will not be deleted.
-P <extension> - This changes the file extension for the package (used in unipkg).
Currently, .deb and .lzm are supported.  I'm working on .rpm, but for now, it isn't finished, and will result in an error if you choose it.
Several variables were also added to PKGBUILD:
bugsurl - The URL of a bug tracker.
pkglongdesc - Description for the package (multi-line description; note that periods on blank lines will automatically be added for Debian packages).
debsection - The section that the package belongs into - for debian packages.
debpriority - The priority of the package - for debian packages.
deboriginal - Original package - for debian packages.
debtags - Tags for the package - for debian packages.
debsrcpkg - A source package that the package originated from - for debian packages.
debdepends - Dependencies for debian packages.
debpredepends - Pre-dependencies (required for the pre-installation script) for debian packages.
debrecommends - Shows a warning if packages are not installed when the package is installed - for debian packages.
debsuggests - Optional dependencies for debian packages.
debconflicts - Conflicting packages for debian packages.
debreplaces - Replacements for debian packages.
debprovides - Provided packages for debian packages.
debpreinst - Pre-installation script for debian packages.
debprerm - Pre-removal script for debian packages.
debpostinst - Post-installation script for debian packages.
debpostrm - Post-removal script for debian packages.
rpmgroup - Group that the package is in - for RPM packages.
lzmpostinst - Post-installation script for slackware packages.
Something to note is that automatically, architectures will be converted to i386 and amd64 when building Debian packages.  I'll probably change this later, however, these are the architectures that Ubuntu uses.
I'm trying to figure out RPM's format so that I don't have to use the official tools from the AUR, but I might eventually give up and use them.  The site doesn't explain it very well.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Well, it was a direct copy from makepkg.  That's a makepkg problem, not mine.  It if does get modified in a future version, I will modify it.
Of course, I didn't know much bash when I initially created the package.  I will keep that in mind.

  • Fork is not working - BPM

    I have done 2 samples using fork and in both the cases it is not working. For each message new BPM is triggered and only one step (branch) gets completed and other branch steps remain in ready state forever.
    1) I have tested standard BPM pattern BpmPatternCollectMultiIf
    2) Simple process using fork - two branches using different inetrfaces (having different message types)
    Integration process return code is 0 - runtime cache
    I am testing on local sandbox (XI 3.0) with SP17.
    Under SAP help only brief description available about fork. Please share if you have good references/samples about fork (BPM).

    Jai,
    1)I expect following result in case of standard BPM pattern "BpmPatternCollectMultiIf"
    Note: Here same message type for all 3 interfaces ( branches), no end condition, no of branches = 3
    As all message types are same when I send first message only one branch will be executed and outbound status under sxmb_moni with be clock (Message being sent). When I send 2 message, second branch will be completed and status will be clock again. And when I send 3 rd message all branches will be completed and outbound status will be success flag (Message successful on outbound side). Under one process id three messages will be displayed
    Actual result is every time status as clock. and for each message new fork instance is created. below are the processids for 3 messages
    133721
    133726 -
    unexpected
    133731 -
    unexpected
    Ideally when you send 3 messages all should be process under process ids 133721 to 133725
    2) I have tried fork with 3 branches with different message types. When I send 3 messages ( here each payload is different as per message type ) I expect success flag after 3rd message. But in this case also always the status as clock. and every time new fork instance.
    Is anybody  successful to test BPM pattern -> BpmPatternCollectMultiIf?

  • How do I use Automator to duplicate a folder with graphics on my desktop and erase their Resource forks?

    How do I use Automator to duplicate a folder with graphics on my desktop and erase their Resource forks?
    I do not use command line and tried to use ZapResourceForksAMAub_1.2 which I downloadedand instaled the Zap Resource Forks.action. Next I tried to use their sample copy-zap-rsrc.workflow in Snow Leopardon my Mac Pro. The 3 different steps are displayed in Automator but there is no place to put in which folder (on my deskto) to copy, and remove the resource forks from the graphic files.
    Can sombody please step me through this please please.

  • Is there a program to get the GUID of a Mozzilla application or Mozilla fork such as K-Meleon or Waterfox or is there a respository that contains these GUIDs?

    We have several plugins that in the past successfully ran in other Mozilla based browsers such as K-Meleon, Sea-Monkey, Netscape, etc.
    In the past the plugin needed to be manually installed or required a special downloadable installer to get the plugin installed/ working with browsers like these.
    Recent work on many of these projects now allow you to install plugins directly through the web or though about:addons and then restart the browser to complete the installation, just like in Firefox.
    We have the list of the most popular GUIDs from the Mozilla documentation listed below, however we do not have the GUIDs for the more obscure Mozilla based forks or projects.
    - Firefox, Thunderbird, Nvu, Mozilla Suite or Mozilla Browser 1.x, SeaMonkey, Sunbird, Netscape, Flock, and Mobile.
    Is there a way to find the GUIDs for these other browsers: K-Meleon, Waterfox, Firefox Nightly (we are guessing the Nightly builds use the same GUID as Firefox) so that we can add the appropriate information to our install.rdf and update.rdf files or does one need to get in contact with the respective projects to determine these?
    For our use either an application that does this, or even a small script that could be run to determine the GUID of these other Mozilla based browsers would be great. If these don't exist, is there a public document or repository that can be accessed to get these GUIDs?
    Additionally, is it possible that some of the obscure Mozilla based forks do not contain or utilize GUIDs that are used by the install.rdf and update.rdf manifests? If so, what can we do so that our plugins can be installed automatically for these browsers through the web or about:addons?
    Is there a way to tell an install manifest that a particular browser is supported even though no GUID exists for that browser so that the installation can proceed as normal for that browser?
    My apologies for the lengthy details and for so many questions. I have searched around and have not been able to find answers to these questions so I figure what better place than directly from Mozilla.
    Thanks again for so many great products over the years and for the continued development of most of them. :-)

  • Is there a resource fork with iTunes music files?

    I want to put a few iTunes music files on an SD card and plug it into my Panasonic TV for sort of instant access.
    It worked and sounded OK, except I get two files on the SD card for every file in iTunes (the second one isn't recognized).
    I seem to remember this was an issue with JPG image files and people used GraphicsConverter to remove the resource fork.
    Is that the problem I'm having - the resource fork showing up as an unreadable file?
    Is there a way to remove it? GC won't.
    Or is it something else?
    Thanks, HNick

  • Workflow error in fork step, process control, wait event

    I am using fork step in workflow which has 2 parallel branches. In 1st branch i have a user decision step followed by a task for posting PO document in case of approval. In the 2nd branch of fork step I have a wait step to wait for an event followed by the same task for posting document with a process control step after that in the end to cancel the workitem(workitem generated by user decision step in the 1st branch of fork). I created the event by using a custom BOR object.
    After the fork step is triggered, i have both a wait event running and workitem generated. When i raise the wait event from SWUE by entering the event, object key etc it works fine i.e., the workitem in the other branch is set of logically deleted and workflow ends.
    But if the wait event is triggered from the program i.e., using FM SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT, both get an error message in workflow log(SWIA). The message is: Error when executing the binding between work item 000000XXXXXX and flow item 000000XXXXXX where workitem number is the workitem id of the posting document task and flow item id is the workflow parent id

    hi,
    message is self explanatory.
    Activate the event trace SWELS, then do the event with SWUE and within your program (als please use SAP_WAPI function modules).
    Now compare the 2 events in SWEL to see what the differences are .

  • BPM process switch/fork is not processing!!

    Hi Guys,
    I have scenario for 1:n multi mapping using BPM. In my BPM just I have got 5 steps, the first one is receiver,  next step is transformation (workinig fine), switch with 2 branches, on branch one Sender 1 to SNC (Prod Active Notific) and on second branch has got Sender 2 for (ProductDemandInfluencingEventNotification) to SNC. The process is coming upto Switch, the process is not coming into Swithch step to send these messages to sender? what is the condition for Switch step? I put it like (1=1), message is not processing completely.
    Any valuable inputs for this please?
    Many Thank in advance
    San

    Hi biplab das ,
    Many thanks for very quick reply. I have tried both. Let me explain you my scenario, please give me your inputs on that!!
    Sender side xml messages comes with couple of messages. What I need this xml has to split into two message types "Product Activity Data" and "Product Influence Demand", each message goes with multiple messages, as follows:
    <Root>
       <output>
       <output>
       <output>
       <output>
       <output>
    </Root>
    Each output message got multiple submessags. Couple of submessages has go under "Product Activity Data" and Couple of other messages has go under "Product Influence Deman"
    Mapping is working fine. Messages are splitting.  I have configure BPM as follows:
    Setp 1---- Receiver --- > Receive the message
    Setp 2 -
    Mapping -
    > Messages are splitting
    Step 3 -
    Fork Step ---> with 3 Branches , Branch 1 for, 1 Receiver Determination and 1 Sender --> Product Acitivity Data
                                                                           Branch 2 for , 2nd Receiver Determination and 2nd Sender --> Product Influence D
                                                                           Branch 3 for throw Alert
    I can this message is failing on Moni, I opened PE, the graphical represenation shows error on Sender1 and Sender2.
    Please can you advice me in this.
    Many Thanks

  • FORK is Not happening Parallel processing- It's working sequential

    Hi,
       we are into PI 7.O and SP 13.
       I am trying to test Parallel processing using Fork step. (With Two branches)
    My problem is sxm_moni both branches are not executed simultenously and it's executing one after the other.
    Did any body done in XI parallel processing using BPM...both calls has to finish at the same time. I mean first call 10 min and second call aslo has to finish first 10 min ..not other 10 min.
    I heard this problem from XI 3.0 and PI 7.O. But PI 7.1 did any body test the Parallel processing using Fork step.
       Pls help me is this issue will resolve if I go to PI 7.1.
    Regards,
    Venu.

    Hi Henrique,
    they would not necessarily start at the same time but shouldnt also be queued - Customer expecting the response within a 17 sec or 20 Sec but coming response 34 sec will not ok for the customer..tomorrow need add some more target again 17 sec will take...How PI can handle the Multi threading they are checking...I am not sure this problem fixed in PI 7.1 or not.
    there're # of connection restrictions in your system? Check that - Where can I check connections restrictions...If you know pls through some light on this.
    Also, how's your BPM transactional behavior (did you flag the create new transaction steps)?
    - I did not checked the flag for create new transaction step..once my server is up I can check the flag and I can test.

  • Movies are from Netflix-finder fork is not working !

    Movies are from Netflix and always worked before.  A finder fork ?  is not working or not reading the movie .

    Then you didn't look in the correct folder. Look in your home Library folder, not the main hard disk Library.
    Also, did you actually follow the directions that Linc posted on your other thread. You seemed to just dismiss them without trying--or at least you didn't say you tried and they didn't work.

  • I lost a video in iphoto.  When I restore from Time Machine I get a thumbnail that says the file fork doesn't exist.  How do I get it back?

    I shot a video on my iPhone.  This got downloaded into my iPhoto during a sync.  It has been there for months and worked fine.  Recently the video was accidently deleted and the trash has been emptied.  I just popped open Time Machine and went back and restored my iPhoto from a back up.  It appeared to restore the video as the thumbnail reappeared where it had been before.  BUT, when I click on it, I get a message that says "the file fork does not exist".  I was also restoring a couple of pictures as well and those restored fine.  How do I get this video out of time machine with a working file fork?

    How did you restore your library from Time Machine?  Did you go into your Pictures folder and then enter TM, go back in time to find the library you want and use the Restore button?

  • BPM Fork Processing without receiving all required messages

    Hi
    I  am developing a BPM which receives 5 different messages.
    I am putting a block with Local Correlation with Block Start = New Transaction and Block End = New Transaction.
    Inside this block, I am using Fork with Necessary Branches = 5  , using local correlation for each receive step with Use Correlation and Activate Correlation.
    When I am adding Receive Steps to Fork, there  is an extra branch getting added to the Fork. So now I have 5 Receive steps with Abstract Interfaces and one extra step without having anything. I couldn't figure out how to get rid of this extra step. I know there is way to get rid of this extra step in Fork...but not sure how
    Now, when I am testing, after receiving any 4 messages process is coming out of the Fork block and going to the next block.
    As in the next block I use all the 5 messages, I am getting error there.
    Can you please give your inputs what could cause this problem?
    How do we get rid of extra branch in Fork which we do not use..
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Regads,
    Ramesh

    Hello  Ramesh,
    When you Drag-Drop any process step in the Fork, it will create a new branch and will sit inside that branch. If you want to put the step on some specific branch then Drag the process step and take it to the desired branch and only drop when [ ] appears on that branch. To insert new branch in fork you can use Right click on Fork->Insert->New Branch.
    Now for ur problem, you have set the necessary branches as 5, when u receive the 4 message(4 branches executed) and fifth branch(empty branch) will make total count to 5. Therefore, ur fork step will be executed and will not wait for the fifth msg.
    HTH,
    Regards,
    Sami.

  • Query on Using fork with wait for event

    Hi All,
    I have a scenario in which a fork has two branches and one branch has the multiple steps along the line and also calls a subworkflow in one of the steps.
    The second branch has a single wait for event to complete the workflow in case of a cancel event.
    My understanding is that when the branch one executes and is on a single step decision or have gone inside a subworkflow and wating for user decision on the workitem created
    Whenever the wait event is triggered on the main workflow the second branch gets executed completing the workflow and all the branch one steps and the subworkflow gets logically deleted removing all the workitem from the inbox.
    Do I have to do any specific process control in main workflow to make sure that the subworkflow is deleted .
    Please clarify on this.
    Thanks,
    Charan.

    It should be taken care by itself. No additional steps required.

  • Can't open appleworks file / resource fork issue

    Hi,
    I've just readt the post "Can't open old appleworks/clarisworks files".
    My problem was that I got a "I/O error" when trying to open some appleworks files with appleworks 6.2.9.
    I realize that I copy those file from my previous disk to a PC formated CD. Hence, some resource fork files should miss.
    BUT, I don't have anymore the original files since I re-install my Mac...
    If there a way to recover my files despite of this resource fork issue ? Is it possible to create again the resource fork file ?
    Christophe

    It's not a resource fork problem. If it were, adding the .cwk extension to the file name would likely fix it. AppleWorks 6.2.9 (the current version) can't open all ClarisWorks 4 or earlier files. It gives an I/O error. There doesn't appear to be a way to predict which files will cause problems. I've had it happen & not happen with all AppleWorks file types. These files can be opened by any other version of AppleWorks 6, including the OS 8/9 component 6.2.8. If you have the retail version of AppleWorks 6.2.9 or your “consumer” Mac came with an earlier version of AppleWorks 6 that you have updated to 6.2.9 & have Classic installed, you can "Force" AppleWorks 6 to open in Classic to open the files, save them as AW 6 files & then open them in the OS X version. Also, if you have Classic installed & have AppleWorks 5, this can be used to open the ClarisWorks files & save them as AppleWorks 5 which AppleWorks 6.2.9 can open.

  • Huge pauses in accept/fork server (postgresql) on 96GB S10 server

    Hi,
    We are deploying new hardware for our Solaris 10 Postgresql server and have stumbled onto a very confusing problem. This doesn't appear to be an obvious system limit issue, but something more complex.
    The new server is:
    dual Intel, four cores each, total of 16x threads w/hyperthreading enabled
    96GB memory
    60+ drives in several ZFS pools with cache and ZiL devices
    Running Postgresql 8.2.21, 32bit binaries (which is a requirement)
    Solaris 10 x64 at latest patchlevel
    Default system settings
    On the new server, when we attempt a connection to Postgresql, the main server process takes a very long time to accept & fork the child server process; several seconds rather than the usual 10+ milliseconds. The accept queue is processed at a glacial pace, rendering Postgresql completely unusable. During this time there are no errors from the operating system or the application and vmstat appears normal.
    Now for the confusing part: Proc tools don't work
    While the Postgresql process is not accepting/forking a child process, it is normal and observable using tools like truss, pstack, pmap, pfiles... However, when we attempted a pstack of the Postgresql daemon during the connect/accept/fork "hang", the pstack invocation hung for several seconds and returned no information except the PID and command-line information. A truss invocation also hung for several seconds, finally outputing a very slow stream of normal-looking output. When we gcore'd the process and tried looking at in gdb, there were only messages about address at zero, nothing to make sense of.
    We lowered the Postgresql shared memory from 1500MB to 700MB and the problem stopped. We whittled down the SHM size to working/non-working sizes, but they seemed to fluctuate. We have other servers that run these amounts of shared memory without issue. Given the fluctuation, we are hesitant to assume that there is ANY shared memory size that is reliable until we understand the problem.
    Now for the more confusing part: DTrace fixes the problem, at least while it is running
    We tried DTraceToolkit scripts to examine the PG process. As soon as we invoked dapptrace on the PID, connections began flowing, albeit at a pace that you would expect from a DTrace'd process. When we CTRL-C'd from the DTrace script and re-attempted to connect, the problem would return. By running dapptrace or another DTrace script, we could un-stick the Postgresql server process at will and bring it back by exiting the script.
    Now for the even more confusing part: Less memory is better, twice the apps is better still
    * We tried an identical, in every respect, server and could reproduce the condition
    * We tried an identical server, except with only 48GB memory, and could NOT reproduce the problem
    * We accidentally started two Postgresql processed with 1800MB shared memory each, but ONLY THE
    FIRST server was affected. Subsequent servers are not affected.
    * Trying to replicate the "sacrificial" server setup, we wrote a program to allocate shared memory and
    semaphores similar to a Postgreql process, then started a Postgresql process. The did not avoid the
    problem for the server, which we didn't expect. Perhaps we didn't perfectly recreate the scenario.
    The big questions:
    * What would oddly hang during fork with SHM?
    * Why would we hit this problem at 96GB memory but not 48GB?
    * Why would a DTrace script alter the condition for the better?
    * Why would one Postgresql process suffer the problem but not subsequent processes?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The problem seems to be related to or manifested in fork(). The forked process resumes immediately, but the forking process hangs for a great deal of time.
    The following is the code that is run, slightly abbreviated. "child done" takes zero seconds, but "parent done" has taken between zero and 42 seconds.
    int result;
    time_t start,end;
    start = time()
    result = fork();
    end = time(NULL);
    if (result == 0)
         elog(INFO,"fork_process:child done, %d", end - start);
    else
         elog(INFO,"fork_process:parent done, %d", end - start);
