Multiple Access Level Management

Let's say there are 8 pages on a web site. Each of the pages
until now has had a different access level defined in the database.
A user logs in, and access levels are checked via the predefined
levels on the pages he is attempting to view. Now users begin to
require access to different combinations of the 8 pages. So user A
might require page 1, 3, 5, 7 user B 1, 2, 3, 4 and user C wants 2,
4, 6, 8.
Is there a way to tell coldfusion to examine a string in the
access level field in which case a 1 means grant access and a 0
means no access? In other words, a string of 11001000 would grant
access to page 1,2 and 5 while a string of 00011100 would grant
access to 4, 5 and 6.
It seems as though this should be relatively easy, but after
searching the documentation, I cannot find any solution.

It would be easier to store individual database records
resembling
user_id has_access_to
1 1
1 3
1 5
etc

  • Access Level Management for Lync2013

In Microsoft Communicator 2007, there was an option to set the 'Access Level Management' as a global setting. Is this feature still available in Lync 2013 apart from setting the 'Access Levels' for each contact individually.
Since we migrated from Microsoft Communicator 2007 to Lync2013 and we needed to change some 'Access Levels', I wasn't able to do so. So would like to check if this feature can be enabled or disabled at the global level.
Thanks. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    BR,
    Frieda

    Hi,
In Lync 2013, you can view the contact in turn of Relationship as following:
You can modify the relationship of the contact by right click the contact, and choose "Change Privacy Relationship", then you can choose the relationship you want such as Workgroup, Blocked Contacts.

  • Multiple Access Levels per User

In a site I'm building, I need the ability to allow an administrator to intuitively assign different access levels to different users. There may ultimately be roughly 25 different pages to which a user may be granted access. One user may have access to section/page levels 1, 4, 5, 7 and 21. Another user may get access to 2, 3, 4, 17, 19 and 24, etc. While this is possible under the existing ADDT user login system by creating a separate access value that includes only the permissible pages (access level 1 could get to page 1, 4, 5, 7 and 21; access level 2 could only get to pages 2, 3, 4, 17, 19 and 24) it becomes impractical for the administrator since the developer (me) would have to come up with an access value and corresponding permissible pages for every possible combination. Every time a new combination was needed, my client would have to contact me to add that access integer and modify all the corresponding sections/pages that the user could access.
The ideal solution IMHO in this scenario would be for the administrator to simply be able to select or deselect a checkbox at will for each page to which the user is granted access (this is actually the scenario to which another of my feature request post refers:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b75119
In searching the old InterAKT forums, I came across a post in which this exact scenario was requested. The user and Ionut came up with a solution which I was able to modify to enable the system I describe above. Rather than repeating the solution, here is a link to that post:
    http://www.interaktonline.com/Products/Dreamweaver-Extensions/MXUserLogin/Product-Forum/De tails/110205/Access+level+based+on+pages.html
While it appears this solution will work for me, it took me quite a while to find it, and even longer to understand it.
So, that's my feature request: The ability for an administrator to easily assign any combination of pages to which a user is granted access, preferably with a set of checkboxes.
    Thanks!

This is functioning now.  With 9.0 you simply use a forward slash between device IDs.
    [device ID #1]/[device ID #2]
Put this information in the "Mobile Device ID" field on the user form.
It also has been verified with 8.82 PL15-16, but I don't know how far back it goes.

  • Multiple access level Webi Reports

    Hi,
We have Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2 FP2.4. Our problem is that we want to asign to the same user diferent levels of visualization for a webi report, but if we asign the security at application level (WebIntelligence) the access levels applies for all reports and if we assign the access level at folder level it doesn´t applied to the visualization of the report. Basically we want that a user see a WebiReport without refresh the data and the same user saw a diferent report in a diferent folder with the capability to do this action.
    Is this possible??
    Thanks a lot.

    Hello,
I apologize for not replying earlier. I tried to reproduce what you mentioned. InfoView kept crashing on my end when I disable right-click.
In any case, you mentioned that disabling right-click only works when applied on on the application level (for Webi). We can work with this itself.
Again, for sake of simplicity, lets assume that we have only two access levels.
    1. Right_Click_Disabled
    2. Toolbar_Disabled
Also, lets assume that a specific user requires the Right_Click_Disabled access level on Rep_1 in Folder_A and the Toolbar_Disabled access level on Rep_2 in Folder_A.
For this, you'll need to create two groups. Lets call them Right_Click_Disabled_Grp and Toolbar_Disabled_Grp. Add the user to both groups. Also apply access level Right_Click_Disabled to Webi (application) for group Right_Click_Disabled_Grp (principal).
Similarly, apply access level Toolbar_Disabled to Webi (application) for group Toolbar_Disabled_Grp (principal).
Now, give both groups View access on Folder_A. So, the user will have the most restrictive access of the combination of ViewRight_Click_DisabledToolbar_Disabled for all Webi reports in Folder_A.
Now, for Rep_1 in Folder_A, the user requires Right_Click_Disabled access. So, for Rep_1 in Folder_A, for principal Right_Click_Disabled_Grp, disable inheritance and give the group Right_Click_Disabled (access level) only for Rep_1. Similarly, for Rep_2 in Folder_A, the user requires Toolbar_Disabled access. Again, for Rep_2, for principal Toolbar_Disabled_Grp, disable inheritance and give the group Toolbar_Disabled (access level) only for Rep_2.
    Summary:
    Groups
    Right_Click_Disabled_Grp
    Toolbar_Disabled_Grp
    Access Levels
    Right_Click_Disabled
    Toolbar_Disabled
Let me know if you have any questions. Also, note that I haven't tested this.
    Best.

  • Managing "Access Levels" on a domain level from Lync 2010 client

    Hello,
Our company moved from Office Communicator 2007 R2 clients to Lync 2010 clients.
Previously in Office Communicator 2007 R2 client, it was possible to set default Access Levels for complete domains (instead of individual users only), using the Access Level Management view.
In the Lync 2010 this options seems to be missing. The management options per user are still there (by right-clicking a user), but the access to manage it for a domain is no longer visible.
Is there any way to manage Access Levels for domains, in a similar way we had in Communicator 2007? It appears that Lync 2010 stilluses the Access Levels set previously for domains, but users do no longer have any possibility to make further updates,
and are stuck (from their perspective at least) with the settings made in 2007 before.
    Thanks.

Lync 2010 doesn’t have the feature natively.
With Lync Server 2010, by default, the contacts from federated domains are added as External Contacts.

  • Multiple Top-Level Realms in Access Manager via AMconfig?

Is it possible to configure multiple top-level realms in Access Manager via AMconfig? It is not possible through the UI.

    Hi!
    How about this:
    String adminDN = (String)AccessController.doPrivileged(new AdminDNAction());
    String adminPwd = (String)AccessController.doPrivileged(new AdminPasswordAction());
    adminToken = adminManager.createSSOToken(new AuthPrincipal(adminDN), adminPwd);

  • The next level manager is unable to view or access appraisal forms for all

I am facing an issue where in the next level manager is not able to see the appraisal docs of employees.
Follwing is the link that we found on SDN related to the same issue-
Next higher level manager should see the appraisal docs of the employees
During the PM testing, an issue was discovered with the existing logic of the ‘Default Next Level Manager’ BADI.
When a manager manually reports to a NL manager’s organization unit, the next level manager is unable to view or access appraisal forms for all the employees who report to the manager.
    For example,
    NL Manager/Cheif: Susan
    Manager/Chief: John
    Employees: Mary and Matt
If John’s position (manager/chief) has a “A 999 Reports to dotted line” relationship to Susan’s organization unit (NL Manager), then Susan is unable to access, approve or reject the appraisal forms for Mary and Matt (John’s direct reports).
The relationship type is A 999 – Reports to dotted line
Type of related object – O (Organizational Unit)
We need to update the BADI in order for the next level manager to be able to access appraisal forms as described in the example above.
    BADI implementation Name : Z_HRHAP00_DOC_DEF_DO
    Method - IF_EX_HRHAP00_DOC_DEF_DO~DEFAULT_OTHERS
Now we are facing the following issue-
After identification of the employees who report to the manager’s organizational unit using the  A 003 – ‘Belongs to” relationship we are not sure how to pass these employees information from BADI to appraisal form, so that the previously identified Next Level Manager will be able to access, accept and reject appraisal forms for these employees.
For further details please refer the thread. I was not able to understand how this can be achieved.
Can anyone please mention in brief how I should be able to do this. I am new to this and I would appreciate any help .
    Regards,
    Satish.

There are no Function Modules to my knowledge. Pls try the transaction S_AHR_61016530 which would display the User's approvers as per hierarchy. This would bring datas from the HR tables. If this helps pls award points.

  • Multiple Standalone Persistence Manager Servers in a single JVM?

    Greetings [Kodo 3.4.1, Oracle9i]
I am currently working on introducing the Kodo Standalone Persistence
Manager Server into our architecture. One issue is that our application
accesses several different databases, each via a separate
PersistenceManagerFactory. This would mean (I think) that I would need to
start a separate Standalone PM Server for every database, which would mean
about 10 different JVMs running, just for the required Standalone PM
    Servers...
The question... Will it be possible and sensible to run multiple
"Standalone" Persistence Manager Servers within a single JVM? The idea
would be for me to write a threaded server, where each of my threads invokes
    kodo.jdbc.runtime.StartPersistenceManagerServer.run(someJDBCConf), where I
provide a JDBCConfiguration for each database I want to connect to. This
means that my server will effectively be listening for clients on several
different ports and accessing several databases all from within the same
    JVM.
Is this feasible? Anyone with access to the source, can you say that the
StartPersistenceManagerServer.run() method may be safely run in several
    different threads?
I suppose another option would be to use the HTTP Persistence Manager Server
and then simply deploy 10 servlets, one per database... But I'm trying to
avoid introducing a servlet container into the mix.
    Thanks
    Drew

    Hi Marcus and thanks...
Yes, I want to use Remote Persistence Managers. Currently we have a 2-Tier
application, but we need to introduce a 3rd tier to be able to use the
DataCache. If we don't do this, then each running application will have
it's own DataCache, which will not "see" changes in other running
application DataCaches. I have tried to attach a "before" and "after"
    diagram to illustrate...
Now if we extend this a bit further, and say that instead of just one
database, our application actually needs to access 10 different databases
(so 10 different PersistenceManagerFactories and 10 different DataCaches),
then hopefully it is clear that we would then need 10 separate Standalone
Persistence Manager Servers. I have attempted to attach another diagram to
    illustrate.
I don't really want to start up 10 Remote PM servers, I would rather just
have one server, which brings me back to my original question... Can I run
them all in a single JVM?
    Cheers and thanks
    Drew

  • Best way to handle user access levels with spring.

I'm a spring newb, and I'm not sure how to properly handle user access levels with a validation controller. There seems to be a lot of information out there about creating simple login validators but like I've said I need to create multiple levels of user access. I could throw something together but i want to do it correctly. Does anyone here have any links to resources or information they could provide?

ST wasn't exactly abusive. If you had typed "spring security" into Google, you would have gotten exactly what I recommended. So why would you say that his advice to try Google first was being a "smart @ss"? It's actually a good recommendation. Try it before you post here.

  • Multiple sort levels in a smart playlist

I use iTunes 7.1.x on a MacMini to update my iPod. Before I moved over to OS-X, I had used a Windows-based media manager (J. River's Media Center). One feature of that media manager that I have not been able to figure out how to duplicate in iTunes is the ability to have multiple sort levels.
My main use for multiple sort levels is the ability to sort songs by the count of times played, then within each count group, shuffle the songs randomly.
For example, all songs with a zero play count would be grouped together and then shuffled, then the songs with one play count would be grouped together and shuffled within that group, then the songs with a two pla count... etc...
The net effect of this dual-level sort is play all songs with the same low play-count in random order, then move up to the next highest play count and play those in random order.
What feature of iTunes am I missing that will provide the sorting capability I want?
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)

What feature of iTunes am I missing that will
provide the sorting capability I want?
Nothing. iTunes will not do this.
How does one ask Apple for a new feature in iTunes?

Like Craigslist but you have to pay... sign me up!
If the activation method of the registration being sent to your email is this method then, as mentioned, it can be circumvented. And the IP address is an absolute fool-proof way to prevent multiple registration. That is of course without the consideration that the user may use a proxy server or otherwise cloak their IP address.
Think of it this way: what if you were only allowed to post 10 threads in the Adobe forums and after that you had to pay to get "many benefits besides unlimited posting" What do you think DWFAQ would do?

    Hi,
That sounds like a job for the COUNT function.  Count how many of those groups each user is in, and pick the opnes where the count is 4.
Since I don't have a copy of your table, I'll use the scott.emp table (which almost everybody has) to illustrate.
Say we want to find which jobs are in each of the depatments 10, 20 and 30:
    SELECT    job
    FROM      scott.emp
    WHERE     deptno IN (10, 20, 30)
    GROUP BY  job
HAVING    COUNT (DISTINCT deptno) = 3
    Output:
    JOB
    CLERK
    MANAGER
It doesn't matter if the same job appears in other departments or not; only rows with the given deptnos (10, 20 and 30) are considered.

Hoffpauir's observation is correct and in order to attract more feedback that will serve your best interest, this thread will be moved to the appropriate section.
This is a quick mail to notify you that your question has been moved over to the Business Objects Administration section.
It is possible to set rights in Designer, however your question seems to be specific to the (CMC) central management console.
I hope this transfer will enrich your experince.

  • DBA Proviledge and Access Level

    Dear all,
Issue: DBA should have the required access level to maintain the database without having access to the business data in certain schema (user)
Details: I am looking for a solution to enable the DBA to do all his administration work and maintain the database and at the same time he should not have any access to the data objects (specially the data in the tables) in certain schema in the database. The question is: How can I create a DBA then I revoke from him the access to the DB objects in certain schema?
    Best Regards,
    Abdo.

Do not give the dba the DBA role; instead ceate your separate role, named, say SECURED_DBA, grant SELECT CATALOG ROLE, ALTER SYSTEM, ALTER DATABASE, etc., but not sweeping privs SELECT ANY TABLE, etc. This will help the DBA manage the database but not have access to the table data.

  • LDAP access levels for wireless users

How is it possible if I want my Directory Server 5.2 to authenticate only few number of users to have wireless and dial-up access. LDAP should not permit the other users when they try to login by wireless or dial-up. But everyone should be authenticated when they try to login through a direct ethernet connection. Currently all my users are under ou=people.

    Hi,
Directly-connected APs are supported in 7.4 code, if you are not on that code then
The PoE Ports are not for the APs
Ports 3 and 4 are PoE only ports; do not connect access point devices to these ports. The ports can be used for infra-switch connection using multiple an AP-Manager or data interface
Connect port 1 to a trunk port on the switch.
configure the native vlan ON THE TRUNKPORT only eg vlan 10
Let's assume your wireless is on vlan 10 and your WLC2504 is 10.10.10.20 /24 gateway 10.10.10.1
Enable and Configure DHCP scope for vlan 10
The APs are then connected to a vlan 10 access port on the switch
    Configure the SSID
    DHCP server tips
    - enable bridging mode if using the controller as the DHCP server, otherwise disable it.
    - if using other DHCP server and the DHCP server is in the same vlan as the controller, nothing further is needed.
    - if DHCP server is on another vlan, you will need to configure option 43 (vendor specific into)
Check with these configuration it will hopefully fix your issue.
