Multiple Assignments in Timekeeper entry form

Team,
We are trying to setup multiple assignments for Timekeeper.
We followed the whitepaper out on Metalink and got most of the stuff working.
Now, we are showing a list of jobs for each employee to choose from whether it is primary job or secondary job.
The issue that we are getting into, how do we filter the list just for the employee that we are entering timecard for.
This is doable in Self service using right conditions but not clear on how to do this in timekeeper.
Has anyone done this before?
Any help will be appreciated.

I presume you have a specific column in TK for the job and that you have linked this through the TK layout preference.
Have you tried making the LOV behind this column dependent on the employee id of the row you are querying? Not sure if it's possible, but worth a try.
Otherwise, I would suggest that you create a Time Entry Rule which is linked to a TER Group just for the TK. The TER could then do the validation to make sure you don't select an invalid value for the employee. It's a bit late in the process, but would prevent errors.
This TER has been used on my projects to ensure that the hours type selected is valid for the employee. This is a simialr scenario.

    My company is using OTL timekeeper Entry PUI form to record the attendance of employees. Our users want to have Employee's Organization from primary assignment to be automatically populated in a static field so that they can check if employee is in right organization or not at the time of data entry.
    I don't want to add LOV using alternate names in the form because it requires additional button clicks for the users.
    Can anyone help how we can add static field (Just like employee name appear after we add employee id) for Organization name in PUI Timekeeper Entry form?

    Is it possible to perform parallel approval from OTL timekeeper entry form? it is using the following workflow OTL Seeded Approval Workflow HXCSAW(i think) if it is using this workflow can we change this workflow or need to write a new workflow for above mentioned requirement.

    Hi,
    HXCSAW is a custom workflow which do nothing accept approving and that can be change as per customer requirement. This child workflow called by parent workflow process HXCEMP. If u going to change the HXCSAW then u also need to change the seeded package associated with this workflow to embed your logic.
    We have done it through SSHR timesheet entry page, no idea if OTL timekeeper entry form carries approval or not.
    Whts the nature of ur parallel approval ? and how u can able to manage if via workflow ?

  • Update number of hrs in OTL TimeKeeper Entry Form not working using API

    Hi,
    Say for example Employee working hrs are 8/day, I have entered manually in Timekeeper's entry form as follows and submitted and changed status to "approved"

    so i need to update 19-aug-2010 to 8 using an API, i tried using API but it's not updating can you guys please let me know.

    Follow the OTL api guide and check your code. If your code is proper, timecard should get updated properly.

  • Location is different in Assignments and OTL Entry form

    In OTL Time Accounting-->Entry/Validation/Approval form, the location is different compare with Assignments Location.

    The article on Metalink tells basically this:
    Add the following Tag in the basejini.htm file found in the
    "%ORACLE_HOME%\forms<xx>]\server" folder.
    <PARAM NAME = "mapFonts" VALUE = "yes" >
    which in my case maps MS Sans Serif fonts, that we use in Forms, to Java 1.1 Dialog font (small, ugly, and unusable).
    What I've done in addition to the above and seems to be working is:
    Edit following file:
    $ORACLE_HOME/forms/java/oracle/forms/registry/Registry.dat
    Change the mapping of the font (MS Sans Serif in my case) from the Java 1.1 font to the actual font you are using (Dialog to MS Sans Serif in my case).
    To clarify font mapping entries after the change in my case are:
    default.fontMap.appFontnames=Courier New,Courier,courier,System,Terminal,Fixed,Fixedsys,Times,Times New Roman,MS Sans Serif,
    Arial
    default.fontMap.javaFontnames=MonoSpaced,MonoSpaced,MonoSpaced,Dialog,MonoSpaced,Dialog,Dialog,Serif,Serif,MS Sans Serif,San

    Hi,
    I want to edit a timecard which is approved and transferred to Projects. I can use adjustment element like Overtime Adjustment, Double time adjustment elements.
    I did set preference - ''Self service Timecard Allow edits to Approval Initiated.
    I added one more Preference for the same allow edits to - 'Retro'
    I tried editing the approved time card but not able to.
    I attached the screen shots  to view the eligibility criteria attached at preference level.
    I appreciate If any of you can help me to resolve this issue.

  • OTL timekeeper entry - retrieve Hours type

    Hi guys,
    In the Timekeeper(OTL) entry form (where you enter time for multiple workers) there is a 'Hours Type' field .
    I need to retrieve the 'hours type' field value(As displayed in timekeeper entry screen) for a particular person(say person_id=2222) and for a particular period(june 9,2008-june 15,2008)..
    can anyone tell me the query or any pointers will be highly appreciated

    The Hours Type field needs to be configured as an Alternate Name Definition. This will associate a list of values for hours types to the corresponding elements.
    Then you have to associate the hours type alternate name definition as a timekeeper layout item in the Preferences window.

  • Data entry form problem - form in query-only mode

    Hi there,
    I am trying to create an data entry form to insert recordacross 2 out of 3 tables. The last of the four tables already have details and does not need to have record inserted into.
    This is the scenario, my four tables are Factory, Employee, Works_in. Works_in resolves a many to many relationship between Factory and Employee
    Now for a person to be employed in a factory, he must be assigned to a factory.
    I have a list of factories already in the database. After choosing a factory from the database, I want to insert records to do with his Fname, Lname, Hiredate bla, bla, bla to the Employee table.
    I have a single form with Factory as the master, and 2 tabs each for Employee and Works_in.
    After linking all my tables with the ability to choose a factory first on the master form from a combo box and after inserting records into the other forms, it says form running in query-only mode.
    What do you think?

    I think that's too much of the wrong information.
    It sounds like you have multiple forms. Are they Modal or Non-Modal?
    What code do you use to call the form that's not working?
    Does it work initially and then stop working?

  • Primary key issue with adf Entry Form.

    i'm using jdev version 11.1.1.5.0
    use case: i have create simple entry form based on Eo and Vo using database table like student(enrollment no,name address)
    where enrollment no is primary key.
    so when i have create a record i have set enrollment no in entity impl class of this eo create method using some logic based on my need like(20130001)
    for that i have read highest no from database field and assign to enrollment no field when user create record.
    so when user create record second time then enrollment no is 20130002. and other detail like name and address user fill and commit record. and it is fine.
    but problem is that when two user access same form at a time and create record so both have get same primary key like 20130003 because in current time in database maximum value is 20130002.
    so which user  commit record first it record will save on database and second user get error message because of primary key violation.
    so my question is that where we generate primary key value for record so when multiple user access form have get different primary key value. and in my use case i can't use sequence and any autoincrement no
    because i have patter for primary key.

    Can someone please tell me how to make an item on a data entry form insert only and not updateable. The user can enter the text item in insert mode but cannot update the text item in update mode. This was really simple in Oracle Forms, hoping it is as simple in APEX.

  • Multiple assignments

    Hello,
    We are designing BPM flow for the project where standard role-based access control may not be sufficient. After researching parametric role it seems that they won't cover all our use cases either. Is there a way to send the activity to the inboxes of a certain group of people? The exact participants who should be notified are decided dynamically but there may be more than one person (they usually "belong" to a single role, but are only a subset of all users "in" that role).
    Parametric roles looked like a correct answer but they require some predefined structure (stored in a DB or a directory). Maintaining such structure and keeping it in sync with our enterprise database and frequently changing rules seems like a big task.
    Here's an example of what we need to accomplish:
    A "Provider" user starts a BPM process instance and specifies a provider number in an entry form. That provider number is stored in an instance var. Based on a location of a provider (and sometimes other variables within BPM process instance and outside of it) the system should notify a group of people (region administrators) about this new item. Because the calculation is not simple, we can't just create a parametric role structure where each region coordinator would have provider numbers assigned as parameters.
    The ideal solution to this problem would be an ability to call setNextParticipant() with a list of people to notify. Is there anything that can effectively substitute that? (Oracle BPM 10.3.1).

    Hi Igor,
    I agree with you about the parametric roles. What you're doing could be done using parametric roles, but here's another approach.
    If you had a role with all the participants assigned to it you could:
    1. Create a Multiple activity that creates a copy of the work item instance and assigns it using next.participant to the each of the correct participants.
    2. Once it leaves the Multiple, the copies of the work item instance would go to an Interactive activity in the "Everyone" role. Only those participants assigned to a copy inside the Multiple activity would now see the instance.
    3. The Multiple's Join activity might have logic like this:
    this = copy
    action = RELEASEThis logic would set the variable(s) changed by the participant. The "action = RELEASE" logic does two things. It only allows one participant to take action on their copy and causes the copies in the other participant's inboxes to be deleted.

  • Build multi-product contest entry form with payment

    I have a client that wants to build a contest entry form that allows the user to enter multiple products with details and totals the amount for payment in one form. Each product that will be entered into the contest will have the same price of $60.
    First of all, is this possible without setting up products in the eCommerce module?
    My idea was to have the users go through a multi-step form to enter the contest. EX: Step 1. Contact Information | Step 2. Company Details | Step 3. Product registration | Step 4. Payment  | Step 5. Confirmation/Packing Slip.
    Step 3. Product registration - I was hoping the user can click a button for each item which will give him the option to enter a product and detail information for the submission. If he wanted to enter more than one product, he could click an "add more" button to generate another entry area for submission.
    Step 4. Payment -  The user will be given the total amount to pay depending on how many products he has submitted into the contest.
    If anyone has a suggestion or idea on how to implement this type of entry form, I would love to hear your comments.

    Which table holds the Timekeeper Entry values? When I query for the Table name through record history, there is no Table in it.

    Timekeeper form is a dynamically built form at runtime based on timecard preferences.
    As for timecard tables, you can look into hxc_time_building_blocks, hxc_time_attributes,
    hxc_time_attribute_usages.
