Multiple dashboard pages

This should beeasily answered but a search of the appropriate documentation hasn't come up with anything. How do you create an Xcelsius dashboard with multiple pages or tabs? I have a large amount of data which needs to be split between pages to enhance useability.
Thanks,
Sean

SPower ,
Go to containers and Use the Tab set componet to create multiple pages.

  • Printing multiple dashboard pages into one pdf

    Hey guys,
I know this is not offered as standard but I was wondering if there was any way to do this.
Two methods i'm wondering about are:
    - Create another page with a javascript "print" button which grabs information from each page and prints to one pdf.
    - Create another page that holds a static copy of all analysis' in the other pages.
The reasons I need to do this is that we originally had 30 analysis' running on 1 page which was destroying performance and killing our servers.
To rectify this, i have split the report out over numerous pages but the users still want to only print once.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
    Adam

    Hi,
Ok your condition is very tricky.
Just Try this if this works.
Create many sections in the dashbaord like say 4. Divide you reports into 4 sections and place it in each section.
Use condition in each Section. Have an extra filter in your main dashboard. having pages 1,2,3,4 as selections.
conditions should be used as : if user seletcs 'page 1' in promt then only 1 section should be visible. after Section 1 is exucuted and printed ,  if user selcts 'Page 2' then 2 secions wll be visible.
here user can select one by one to reduce the load on the server.
fibally if you select 'Page 4' all the reports will be visible togther. now you can print to PDF.
    Mark if helps.

  • Prompt Propagation Issue across dashboard pages in a dashboard

I have a issue of prompt propagation in a dashboard, that is the various dashboard page prompts use same presentation layer column then the prompts are taking the filter values filters on each other dashboard. Even if I try to change the scope of each dashboard prompt to only dashboard page only the value propagates to next dashboard page.
I cannot redesign the whole dashboard as it will need lot of effort , I have implemented a fix for now but I am searching for some java script code which I could invoke using OnPageLoad event to clear and reset all the page prompts to defalut values.
Can you guys let me know if you have any java script like this.

Can some one provide a alternative solution to this issue.
Once more I am writing down the issue:
On a dashboard is multiple dashboard pages multiple prompts, but if there are some prompts common between those dashboard pages which basically shares the same column formula, then these dashboard do propagate their values from one dashboard page to another.
Even setting the dashboard page prompt scope to page only cant stop this values propagation issue form one dashboard to another.
I know to fix it I will have to redesign the whole dashboard but that will take lot of time and effort starting from RPD to Reports.
is there some fix to fix it in the OBIEE Answers itself without touching the RPD. I cant try changing the column formula with case statement as then the case will flow in the report query and it will not use the index defined on the columns.
Please let me know if some one can throw some light on this.

  • Re: OBIEE 11g Dashboard Page Prompt

    Hi all,
We have a Dashboard page in that multiple reports is there and one Region prompt is there with the scope of page level ,
once i gave the filter with that prompt every report is filtered based on that prompt values .
but in that reports for a particular report we were already drill down based on hierarchy and the remaining all reports are in highest level , now we were applies the filter through the prompt the remaining reports are filtered based on prompt value except that report which is in already drill down mode .
Can any body help me out , is it a tool limitation/ i have to do any changes.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    Hi,
The report will react to a prompt only if there is a is promt column in that report. Check if there a is prompt filtered column in the report and remove it.
If you think that column is to be filtered as Is prompted and should not react to the dashboard prompt, then need to check...

  • Need to send a dashboard page as an excel file in an iBot

    Hi,
Is it possible to send a whole dashboard page as an excel file in an iBot/agent?
We're using OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 and have a requirement where different users need to access the dashboard pages via excel. Most of the pages have multiple requests and some also have charts.
The other alternative that we looked at is using the MSOffice plugin but even with that i'm only able to access the individual requests one at a time but not the dashboard page.
    Thanks!!

I think I found a workaround that resolves our issue: I send the dashboard page as an html attachment in an iBot and then open it with excel once received (open with).
    Thanks for your replies..

  • Updating Dashboard pages separately in OBIEE 11g

    Hi guys,
I have a requirement to show multiple reports in one dashboard as tabs\pages like page1-for R1, page-2 for R2 (R!&R2 are reports) and these pages were created using different prompts for each report. but, the DB tables are the same.
    My problem is:
if i run the report in dashboard on page-1, the prompts and tables are getting updated with the values on page-1 into page-2 also.
i tried by disabling the cache in nqsconfig, purging the cache in admintool, and setting a prefix to disable cache at report level, still no luck.
let me if anyone can help me.
    thanks,
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
Select Page Options > Edit Dashboard to open the dashboard page in the Dashboard builder, then
Click the Prompt properties icon and select Scope > Page. Scope determines whether the prompt applies to the entire dashboard or just this page.
    hope helps u..........
Don't forget to assign points and close the thread if your question is answered.........

  • Can we stack dashboard pages over one another

    Hi All,
    I am in OBIEE 11g v6.
Is there any way of stacking the pages on the dashboard if the no of pages are large. So for ex, I have 10 dashboard pages, the way it would be shown on the dashboard is
    Page1|Page2|Page3|Page4|Page5|Page6|Page7|Page8|Page9|Page10
What I want is, like this,
    Page1|Page2|Page3|Page4|Page5
    Page6|Page7|Page8|Page9|Page10
so basically can I stack the page names in two rows? This is because when the no of page are large and can't fit in one screen, OBIEE 11g shows <<, >> at the end and then you would have to click on the >> to see the rest of the pages in the drop down. Can we avoid that?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Ronny
If you notice, whenever the no of pages for a dashbaord are large. Let's say 15.

Are you looking something like in this link?

  • OBIEE passing value to a dashboard page using href

    Hi All,
I am trying to pass year and month values from Report 1 to a dashboard page (having multiple reports) using the href function. The code i have used is -
    case when "Dim - KPI"."KPI Name"='Application Availability' then '<--a href="http://172.18.43.143:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard&PortalPath=/shared/Service Availability/_portal/Service Availability&Page=Application Availability&Action=Navigate&P0=1&P1=eq&P2=Dim%20-%20All%20Purpose%20Date"."Month%20%20 Name"&P3='||"Dim - All Purpose Date"."Month Name"||'style="">'||'test'||'<--/a>'end

    Hi Dan,
    1) I have tried standard navigation. The measure column is a dimension value, when i try to put multiple navigation paths on a actual value, it gives me a navigation menu. So i want to use conditional navigation i.e when the measure value is Application Availability , i should be able to navigate to application availability dashboard page and when my measure is Outage, it should take me to outage page instead.
    2) Yes i am using same columns for month and year for all 6 reports.
    3) Yes i have mentioned year and month as is prompted in all the reports.
    Please help
    Thanks Srus

  • Column Passing between dashboard pages using Column Format- Navigation

I've been put in a tough spot due to an error in BI Publisher which I can't seem to fix and won't be discussing in this post, thus I'm trying to find an OBIEE work around that adheres to the client's heuristics requirements. So OBIEE dev's more experienced than I, lend me your wisdom.
I have a logical layout with two descriptive dimensions, a time dimension and a singular fact table. An explanation of the dashboard pages, their requests, prompts and other objects is below:
    Dim 1
    - Dim1 Key
    - Dim 1 Descr
    Dim 2
    - Dim 2 Key
    - Dim 2 Descr
    Dim Date
    - Typical Date blah blah
    Fact
    - Measure 1 (Count of Dim 2 Key)
    Dashboard Page 1
    - Prompt 1
    - Request 1
    Request 1
    - Columns
         - Dim 1 Descr
         - Measure 1
         - Dim 1 Key (Hidden)
    - Filters
    - Dim 1 Key is Prompted
    - Dim Date is Prompted
    - Formatting
         - Dim 1 Descr navigates to Dashboard Page 2
    Prompt 1
    - Dim Date.Date is Between
    Dashboard Page 2
    - Prompt 2
    - BI Pub Report 1
    BI Pub Report 1
    - Parameter
         - p_key (takes in Dim 1 Key)
    Prompt 2
    - Dim 1 Descr is Equal
    - Dim 1 Key is Equal - populates presentation var: p_key
So the functionality I'm expecting is that the user starts on Dashboard Page 1 selects a date range from Prompt 1. Selects a row and navigates to Dashboard Page 2 by clicking on a Dim 1 Descr 1 value, which in turn passes the Dim 1 Descr value and the Dim 1 Key value (which is hidden) to Dashboard Page 2.
On Dashboard Page 2, Prompt 2's Dim 1 Descr and Dim 1 Key become the values passed from Dashboard Page 1 and p_key is populated with the value which Prompt 2 Dim 1 Key becomes. Lastly BI Pub Report 1 gets p_key from OBIEE, and runs displaying what it’s supposed to.
Currently everything works, except the passing of Dim 1 Key from Dashboard Page 1 to Dashboard Page 2. The question is, firstly, is it possible to pass Dim 1 Key without it being visible on Request 1 or without using Dim 1 Key as the point of navigation to Dashboard Page 2. If so, what of my above mentioned setup is incorrect? My guess is that I need Dim 1 Key in Prompt 1, but the client is adamant that I leave Prompt 1 alone, so any other options would be great.
I also know that the above is possible with GoUrl or PortalPath but since on the actual request there are multiple Navigation Target options, I'd like to avoid having to resort to GoUrl or PortalPath, but if this is the only method, how can multiple options be given using GoUrl or PortalPath?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi Karthick,
Thanks for the updated info. I tried what you suggested and unfortunately still no value passed. It seems hidden via OBIEE format options, hidden via CSS or unhidden the value is only passed if the navigation is set up on that particular field. So if I have two fields in the report and I want to click on Field 1 and pass Field 2, Field 2 will not be passed. I am going to try this on a up to date environment and see if it works, since the client is using a slightly outdated version of OBIEE.
Thanks for the suggestions so far,
    Matt

  • Reg: Dashboard page Name not getting displayed.

    Hi
I have created a dashboard Dashboard1 and it has 5 different pages
    pg1 thru pg5. I have 5 users USER1,USER2.USER3,USER4 and USER5.
I have assigned each page to a user and all the users have access to Dashboard1
    i.e
    USER1 pg1 of Dashboard1
    USER2 pg2 of Dashboard1
    USER3 pg3 of Dashboard1
    USER4 pg4 of Dashboard1
    USER5 pg5 of Dashboard1
The problem is name of the pages is not displayed once the dashboard is accessed after log on..The report attached to that page is displaying data, but page name on the tab is blank...
Could anybody help me with this information pls..
    Thanks in Advance...

    Hi,
When a single page is placed on the Dashboard it will not show the page name as it won't show any tab on the Dashboard. This is happening by default.
This case applies to your scenario as you restricting those pages among the users.
To just check, give the permissions to the user1 to view 2 dashboard pages instead of 1. Then you can able to see the page names on the tabs as 2 pages are on the Dashboard for that user.
I am also not aware of displaying the Page name when there is a single page on the dashboard...:(

  • OBIEE 11g: Subscribe to Agents through Dashboard page?

    Hi all,
I have created a set of agents which would deliver personalized content to subscribing users based on their OBIEE username. The agents work great, however I am stuck at finding a simpler way to allow various users to subscribe to said agents.
The standard subscription method is cumbersome: Go to Catalog, browse to where agents are, Click More, select Subscribe. I don't want my users wandering around through a pretty thick catalog only to subscribe to an agent. Chances are they'll wander off, mess up, fail to subscribe or not even bother to try in the first place. What I would rather do is have them go to a dashboard and click on something to subscribe directly, without caring where the agents are located.
A dodgy workaround I have implemented is to put up a link to an URL which is the catalog location of the agents. Users would click on that link and they will see the list of agents, allowing them to subscribe/unsubscribe. Still, I would like to simplify this further, if possible. Any ideas?

    Hi All,
I am trying to display ‘help’ section on every dashboard or Create a separate Help Dashboard Page …
Tried using "Link or Image" object option and Uploaded the pdf’s to Help file *(/Shared Folders/Help)* – Let say the PDF Name is Employee_Expenses.pdf
So I am using the URL for link object as
    URL= saw.dll?downloadFile&path=%2Fshared%2FHelp%2FEmployee_Expenses.pdf
    Image = fmap:Images/help.gif (Do I need to have help.gif in /Shared Folders/Help folder Cause I don’t have it…)
    It’s not working – Any Ideas….
    Thanks,

  • How can I setup multiple home page tabs?

I am trying to setup mozilla like I have internet explorer. This is to say with multiple home page tabs on opening. Can I do this, if so how?

  • Multiple Summary Pages

How can I use multiple summary pages in a single OPM project ?

If possibly using JS/Jquery anyway, I'd suggest you don't need multiple summary screens but instead a a single summary screen from OWD with a single list of goals presented by default. Use JS to add a search function and dynamically modify the HTML to make the sorted/grouped lists appear as you desire (on the same page without any requests to the server). Only upon clicking on a goal would the question pages in pursuit of the selected goal begin.
You might get some good ideas on implementation from the searchable combo-boxes in v10.4.1 - summary video available at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmmQeFt6qCQ&list=UUtUHPDCD1EFH_ftnhR_i-dQ&index=5&feature=plcp shows the properties that control behavior.
You'll probably want to look at the velocity templates in \Release\web-determinations\web-inf\classes\templates\ (after a build). Look at question_screen.vm for an example of how the comboboxes are rendered and for javascript inclusion within a velocity template. Also look at summary_screen.vm as that is what renders the summary screen and will likely be where you will want to add your JS search functionality. (also shows how the list of goals is rendered by default).

  • Opening Dashboard Page in New Window While Passing Prompt Values

    Hi,
Currently it is not possible to open a dashboard page in a new window AND have the prompt values from a prior page pass to this page. I see one or the other can be accomplished but not both. Is there a way this can be acheived somehow or is there a workaround for this?

You are correct. The "Link or Image" object does not pass the dashboard prompt values, though it allows the destination dashboard to be opened up in a window.
    Here is a workaround.
    1) Place the link in a "Guided Nav. Link" object and set the destination dashboard and desired report. With the prompt set up correctly (i.e., dashboard scope, set to PV, destination report column filtered to receive the PV), the destination report will be filtered on the prompt as desired.
    2) I noticed (and maybe this is why you wish the "new window"), there is no "return" link on the destination report. To fix this, in the destination dashboard, add a Text object to the dashboard. In the properties, paste the code below and make sure to check off "Contains HTML markup." This will produce a "Return" button on the dashboard.
    <input type="button" value="Return" onclick="history.back();">
Now, when the user selects the prompt and clicks on the link, the prompt is passed to your second dashboard. When the user wishes to return, he/she can click on the "Return" button and return to the primary dashboard.
    HTH,

  • Link to OBIEE 11g Dashboard Page from a 10g Dashboard Page

    Hi all,
Is it possible to place a Link object on a dashboard page (within OBIEE 10g) and have that navigate to an OBIEE 11g dashboard page?
If so, how is that implemented?
Our 11g and 10g environments are on different servers.
For business reasons (and budgets) we are not migrating our entire 10g environment to 11g just yet.
    Thanks.

You can use Go URL as long as they are on same network domain [Go URL|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21043_01/bi.1111/e16364/apiwebintegrate.htm#i1005050]
