Multiple data entry

hi all,
I have a big problem that has left me doubting in my abilities for two days.
I have a jsp page that submits a form data to a servlet which sends it to the database,but its always submitting the same values twice when it should be once.I tried redirecting tfrom the original servlet to different one but that doesn't still solve the problem.I tried to use session variables to store the submission but that doesn't still solve the problems.I have tried everything i can imagine,but no good results.Could you please give me any suggestion as to what could be the problem.I ma using netbeans,tomcat and mysql database,and very confused now.

So it is sending two requests with every click?
Do you use javascript to submit the page?
If you run javascript and have a submit button, potentially you could end up with a double submit - once from javascript once from clicking the button (which submits by default)
the solution would be to return false to the button, so it would only do the javascript submit.

I am curently trying to create a way to add fields for multiple children. I created an expanding table and the fields are automatically copied when I click on „+“ or are deleted when I click on „-“ . If I have multiple rows for children then the converted xml looks like this :
The correct xml for multiple data entries should look like this (this is from a xml scheme not made in LiveCycle) :
Even if I copy the fields without creating a table, the converted xml is still a mess just like on the first image. Is there a way to show the xml from the PDF from correctly.    I HAVE TRANSFERRED DATA FROM THE FINAL INTERNAL TABLE OF MY ABAP REPORT (NOT ALV) TO CUSTOM Z-TABLE CREATED IN SE11.
BUT MY PROBLEM IS : I   COULD NOT   TRANSFER MULTIPLE   DATA ENTRIES   FOR A PARTICULAR FIELD.
FOR EXAMPLE : IN TABLE EKKO THERE ARE   FOUR EBELN-4900006375 AND FOR THAT DIFFERENT EBELP S ARE
PRESENT. I COULD TRANSFER ONLY THE FIRST ENTRY , THAT IS : EBELN - 4900006375 AND   EBELP - 0010,
AFTER THAT THE ZTABLE IS NOT GETTING UPDATED TO EBELN-4900006375 FOR EBELP - 0020 AND SO ON.
I HAVE TRIED ALL THE ' MODIFY, INSERT, UPDATE ' STATEMENTS. I HAVE USED AT - USERCOMMAND - HIDE AND CHECKBOXES.
   PLEASE   SUGGEST   A   SAMPLE   CODE   FOR   THIS.

There are actually 5 queries in this report now. From what I understand about a union query, I don't think it will work here because the data being returned in each of the queries is so different. I basically need to know how to make all the criteria for each individual to be displayed before proceeding to the next data set, which will include the same data as the first, but for the next employee, and so on. I need to basically create a repeating frame with each individual's respective data I guess, but every time I do, it tells me that it's referencing an invalid group.

Multiple Data entry profiles in ESS -Webdynpro?

Hi All,
We have an issue here with the data entry profile.
The current system(ITS with 4.6c) has multiple data entry profile, from which the employee can select the profile according to the personel area, he is in. ( Employee can have multiple data entry profiles ) .
But in new frontend Portal, we dont have such option in EP 7 how can we achieve this in ESS- Webdynpro applications.
Need your valuable inputs on this.

Hi,
The newer version does not allow you to enter multiple ESS Profile. You will have to define one profile for the CVR parameter. If you think you the ESS User needs multiple profiles, its better to revisit those profiles and change them so that each user gets one profile that fits his time entry.
If you search in this forum, I think one earlier post had a good informative discussion about the same.

Hi sorry to bother you again but is it the same method as in MySQL to enter multiple data at once?
I am trying to save time by entering all the contents of a table all at once,

Multilple Data entry profiles in ESS for CATS

hi,
We are implementing CATS and configured the data entry profiles in IMG. Can u tell me if multiple data entry profiles can be chosen by employees through ESS webdynpro applcaition. I need this as the screen layouts for an employee logging time to different projects are different. Is choosing data entry profile provided in ESS ?

Thanks for the replies. i understand that based on the employee groups, sub groups a data enry profile would be assigned to an employee..
Lets take up this scenario
1) Employee 1 is assigned to Per Area 1 (HR) and lets say data entry profile 1 on monday
2) He is asked to work for a diffrent Per area 2 ( project systems ) for 1 day and then after that day he is assigned back to profile 1 again.
3) On wednesday he comes bak , he is already assigned to data entry profile 1, where he books his time for Per Area 1 (HR). Now how does he book his time for the one day where he was assigned to Per Area 2 ( PS)
any ideas ? I know this wud be a custom enhancement,
wanted to know
1) if BAPI and Web dynpro ESS record working time code will need to be modified ?
2) What wud be effort and time estinate for such a requirement ?
3) is it possible ?

Multiple page data entry form

Hello,
I need to build a multiple page data entry screen for users
to enter information into the DB table. There are many fields I
need to capture and store in a table. Some of the fields are multi
line text field for the users to enter a few lines of text in a
textbox. But right now, I wasn’t sure which approach I should
take.
1. Use session variables to capture the data as the users are
completing the multiple page data entry then store all the values
at the end when the user finish entering all the data.
2. Create a temporary table in a DB to capture the data until
the user is finished then store the values in the temporary table
back to the real table.
I hope someone can provide me with some suggestions on this.

It depends on how you want to handle:
User fills out first couple of pages only. He may or may not
come back.
User fills out a couple of pages and then uses browser to go
back to page 1, which he changes and resubmits.

CAT2 multiple person data entry and worklist

Hello everybody,
For our users we have created a multiple person data entry profile and everything is working fine. hours for multiple people can now be entered in CAT2. However, our users are now stating a new request: They would like to see the worklist aswell (just like with single person hour entry).
When trying to customize the data entry profile and making the setting for showing the worklist, SAP shows the message that multiple person and worklist are mutually exclusive, so not posible.
However, the request from our users doesn't seem that strange. Would anyone of you know a way to combine the worklist with multiple person hour entry?

   Now I looking for to retrieve this footer section data available in multiple rows from footer table and present it in jsp page .
I am finding difficulties in how to show this multiple row data for dynamic no of rows .i.e. variable no. of rows.

How to retrieve multiple data from table and represent it in jsp pageTo retrieve, make use of HttpServletRequest#getParameterValues() and/or #getParameter().
To display, make use of JSTL's c:forEach.

Data entry form problem - form in query-only mode

This is the scenario, my four tables are Factory, Employee, Works_in. Works_in resolves a many to many relationship between Factory and Employee
Now for a person to be employed in a factory, he must be assigned to a factory.
I have a list of factories already in the database. After choosing a factory from the database, I want to insert records to do with his Fname, Lname, Hiredate bla, bla, bla to the Employee table.
I have a single form with Factory as the master, and 2 tabs each for Employee and Works_in.
After linking all my tables with the ability to choose a factory first on the master form from a combo box and after inserting records into the other forms, it says form running in query-only mode.
What do you think?

I think that's too much of the wrong information.
It sounds like you have multiple forms. Are they Modal or Non-Modal?
What code do you use to call the form that's not working?
Does it work initially and then stop working?

How to save multiple new entries in one shot?

Hi,
I am working on a pretty complex Create form. So apart from the standard form fields to allow user to enter the data, one of the sections in this form is a table which allows user to create multiple entries for this entity. And when hitting the "Save" button in this form, it will save all the data plus the multiple entries defined in this table.
Is it possible to create multiple new entries in a table, and then save all of the new entries at the end? My experience so far is only create and save one new entry at a time.
Any sample?

Yes, I am using ADF BC.
Let me explain more in details of the scenario:
I have a table with "Create New" and "Save" button. The "Create New" button's ActionListener is set to "#{bindings.CreateInsert.execute}", and the "Save" button's ActionListener is set to "#{bindings.Commit.execute}".
When the "Create New" button is hit, a new row shows up in the table to allow entering data inline. When the "Save" button is hit, it got committed. I would like to allow user to create multiple rows before committing. But currently, after I hit "Create New" button, then enter data, then hit "Create New" button again without committing, it gives error.
Since this table is part of a form with other fields, I would like to save/commit it until everything in the form are completed, including creating multiple rows in the table.
Any ideas how to achieve this?

Looking for a browser or app with one click data entry

One thing I miss on the iPad is the ability to quickly enter information in web sites like my name, e-mail, etc. For example, Firefox for windows has an add-on called "InFormEnter" which places a check box next to each data entry block. Clicking on it allows entry of the information with one additional click. I know that some iPad password managers will remember this info, but most seem to require entering a password each time you use it.
Mercury browser for the iPad remembers data for visited sites but seems to require manual input for every new site.
Is there an app or browser for iPad that will work without entering a password or requiring manual input for every new site?

not possible from inside AB AFAIK. but you can do the following. in finder open the folder /users/username/library/application support/address book/metdata. switch to the list mode and sort by date modified. quicklook the vcards at the top to see which ones they are.
