Multiple Data Selection

Hi Experts,
In my application when i am selecting the multiple rows which i entered earlier in the popup window, it's getting populated into main window.
But in main window only one input field is there,so only the fiest record is getting displyed after selection.
Rest of the records i am not able to display in the main window.And the problem is i can't add more than one input field in main window. Rest of the values will be passed into R3 through coding but it can't be displayed on screen.
So please advice me on these two scenarios.
1 . How to populate multiple row values(input fields in popup window with value enterd by user) into
main view. In main view only one input field is there.
2 . How to pass all the selected values from main window to R3 by webdynpro coding.
All the values coming from popup need to be passed even though only one value is displayed.
Here the input field in main window is mapped to one model attrribute.

    Do you want to select multiple individual dates? Is there a maximum number of dates to select?
    Yes multiple Individual dates... No max number of dates selection.Do you want to select a "date range"? Do you want to select multiple "date ranges"?
    date range i.e from and to is also fine.. but not multiple date range...Do you want to select multiple "data ranges" combined with multiple individual dates?

  • Report help for multiple Date Select options

    Hi Friends,
    For a particular year wise report, the client wants 12 date select-options which are changeable and informal every year .The report will also be displayed as per the given date selection period wise. Please help me how to fetch the datas from the table as per the given selection period. Currently the report have one date select-option where the user gives selection range as 1.04 to 31.03. It's related to EB power consumption report and hence the new requirement on date selection which are informal and not a fixed date of every year.
    Ex:Selection-Screen
    Period 1 : 08.04.2008 to 12.05.2008
    Period 2: 12.05.2008 to 20.06.2008
    Period 3: 21.06.2008 to 28.07.2008
    Period 4: 29.07.2008 to 15.08.2008
    Period 5: 15.08.2008 to 21.09.2008
    Period 6 : 21.09.2008 to 14.10.2008
    The data will derive as per the above selection ranges.......
    Please advise with example.

    Hi,
    In this case just derive all records matching dates between 08.04.2008 (low in first select-options) and 14.10.2008(high in last select-options.
    Also my advice is to use a single select-options and prompt the user to give the dates as ranges in the multiple entries dialog which can be opened by clicking the button on the right side of the select-options.

    We have to copy large amount of data ( more than 42lak of recodes) selectivly from on ODS to other ODS. in delata load ( BW 3.5 enverioment)
    I thought of loading data in slices through delta loading with selection condition.
    step 1> Do The initialization with selection condition as for calyear =2001 ( Init without data transfer )
    step 2> Take the delta load .. it will take all delta record with same selection
    step 3> Now I want to do Initialization with selection condition as for calyear =2002
    step 4> take the delta now it will take delta for year 2001 and 2002 both Right ?
    Here what problem I am facing.. while doing 2nd time initialization it prompt me to delete the last  initialization request form scheduler menu.
    if i delete the last request .. will it take the delta  for previous initialization selection  and new initialization selection. ?

    You are correct with this scenario normally. The message you mentioned normally comes up when you open a infopackage and don't change the selection first or in case you have overlapping selections with an already done init.

    I've to select records of multiple dates but the time should be 00:00:00 to 06:00:00 (i.e. 12 AM - 6 AM)
    For date part this can be done:
    WHERE
    START_TIME BETWEEN TO_DATE('04-01-2012', 'MM-DD-YYYY') AND TO_DATE('04-05-2012', 'MM-DD-YYYY')
    But how can I fix the time mentioed above.

    and start_time - trunc(start_time) between 0 and 6/24start_time - trunc(start_time) will give you the fraction of a day. So 6/24 means 06:00.
    (When you use to_char(trunc(sysdate,'hh'),'hh24') between 0 and 6 you will also retrieve records with start_time 06:01 for example. So this would not meet your requirements as far as I understood.)

    the list has an associated name, description, and path (they're mp3
    files) and they are named accordingly in the XML tags.
    Using myListBox.selectedItem.label gives the correct label
    but myListBox.selectedItem.data is undefined. I've tried using the
    XML tags after the data selector (e.g.
    myListBox.selectedItem.data.path) but those don't work, either. All
    of the examples I've found in the docs show only a single data
    element associated with each list item.
    So, if a list item has multiple data items associated with
    it, how do you select them using the listBox.selectedItem property?

    Q2. when I type "Oracle" in A long list item box, cursor is going to the initial character "O" , so I can find "Oracle" in A long list item box easily.Maybe , but of course your list gets smaller as you see only the entries starting with a "O" , except if there are entries in the list which all start with the letter "O" so the total number of entries in the list is equivalent to the number of entries start with "O"...!!!!!!!!!

  • Select multiple date ranges?

    I am looking to select from a set of date ranges. I know that a UNION will work, but how to I get a valid set of results from multiple dates without a UNION?
    example:
    select date from test
    where date >= '01-MAR-07 0000'
    and date <= '02-MAR-07 0000'
    and date >= '04-MAR-07 0000'
    and date <= '08-MAR-07 0000'
    order by date;
    This gets zero records.
    But if I use UNION:
    select date from test
    where date >= '01-MAR-07 0000'
    and date <= '02-MAR-07 0000'
    union
    select datre from test
    and date >= '04-MAR-07 0000'
    and date <= '08-MAR-07 0000'
    order by date;
    It works, I get the records in no test table.
    How can I structure this query to work without UNION?

    I am still running into an issue:
    Let's say I am using the following context:
    select date1, name from test
    where name in ('SUNDAR', 'ASUNDAR')
    and date1 >= '01-MAR-07 0000'
    and date1 <= '03-MAR-07 0000'
    or (date1 >= '05-MAR-07 0000'
    and date1 <= 07-MAR-07 0000');
    My results are wrong, it would not include the select as part of the or clause.

    After creating the dataset under datamodel save your data sets.
    Click on Datamodel , on the right side window you will have the Main data set option , click on the drop down option and select Concatenated sql option.

  • How to populate data selection in infopackage from spreadsheet

    Hello,
    I have to load data for thousands of missing CRM orders into BI via the BI-CRM extractor 0CRM_SALES_ORDER_I . We have list of those missing orders in a spreadsheet.
    How do I  populate these order numbers into the data selection tab of the data source?
    I tried adding multiple orders at a time..butit doesnt load any data. On the other hand, when I was loading a single order at a time, it does load all the data.
    Loading thousands of them manually will be a hectic job
    Also, I cannot use ranges as they are not at all in range
    Can somebody provide a workaround which hopefully will not involve any transports

    This seems to be really cool! and I am able to open the editor in production too...
    The only problem is I really have not ides how we can pass the parameters here..how we get the program to look up a spreadsheet and populate those records

  • Multiple Data Sources In One Logical Table

    I am new to OBIEE and I have came accross an issue. I appologize if this information is in the forum somewhere but I have searched and cannot find it.
    My situation is that I would like to have one logical table that contains multiple data sources which have all the same columns. I already have session variables setup to differentiate the user's security through a row-wise variable for a specific column and a session variable for another column which determines the user's association to the data source in which they belong to. This security works well when the data sources are seperated in the Business Model and Mapping portion but the issue that arises is that the user's cannot share reports when the data sources are seperated in the BM&M.
    I have dragged and dropped a table from the Physical model to the BM&M, I then dragged the second data source (with same meta data structure) over to the "Sources" folder in the first data source table in the BM&M. On the Content tab or each data source table I have defined the WHERE clause as such, where VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."SCHOOL") session variable is my row-wise column filter and the VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."GROUP") filter is my data source determinative:
    sandbox."".SANDBOX.OBIEE_CROSS_ENROLLMENTS.HOME_SCHOOL = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."SCHOOL") AND sandbox."".SANDBOX.OBIEE_CROSS_ENROLLMENTS.DATA_SOURCE = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."GROUP")
    Unfortunatley this only returns values in the BI Answers for the first drag and drop Pysical table in the BM&M layer and not the second Physical table drug into the "Sources" folder. I have also tried to create a new logical table and drag both tables into the "Sources" folder to no avail. I have experimented with the Fragmentation content on the "Content" tab of the seperate logical tables, checking the "This source should be combined with other sources at this level", which gives me an error in BI Answers that a column does not exist which really does.
    What could I be missing? Advanced thanks to those who reply.

    Thank you for the article link. That was very helpful! It seems that I had a few things off as you do need the "This source should be combined with other sources at this level." checked. In my two table source columns for DATA_SOURCE I defined a literal ('086496' and '085597' for the other) in the Column Mapping tab. I pasted the following in the Fragmentation content, checking the "This source..." box on the Content tab:
    eSIS.SANDBOX4_SCHOOLS.DATA_SOURCE = '086496'
    And pasted the following into the WHERE clause, checking "Select distinct values" on the Content tab:
    sandbox4."".OBIEE.NWOCA_SCHOOLS.SCHOOL_CODE = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."SCHOOL") AND sandbox4."".OBIEE.NWOCA_SCHOOLS.DATA_SOURCE = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."GROUP")
    This took care of my user's security, utilizing the session variables in the WHERE clause. I am now able to generate reports that only one user can access from one data source and share that same report with another user who can only see data from the other data source.

    You will have to use the concept of Regular expressions for this. We will have to loop through each row/coloumn to do what u desire.
    The ID of an element on grid will be something like GRIDNAME-<ELEMENT NAME>[ROW NO] [COLUMN NO]
    we need to parameterize the row and also the el;ementname changes for each column along with the column number. Please let me know if this much detail is enough. If not i can show u a real time ecatt code snippet on how to play around with grids.

    I am not able to figure out how to create a bar chart using
    multiple data series in the Report Builder. I can do it with
    explicit CFML coding but not in the Report Builder. I am running MX
    version 7 with the current (as of 9/1/07) download of the Report
    Builder.
    My table contains visit information by site, with standard
    demographics on each visit (age, race, gender, etc.) I am trying to
    analyze the data by site, for example, race by site.
    I am using an SQL statement to sort and group by site &
    race. I can get a chart of the number of visits for each site or
    the total number of visits by race across all sites. But I can't
    get race by site. The SQL statement looks like this:
    SELECT race, site, COUNT(*) as counter
    FROM visit_info WHERE userid = #session.uid#
    GROUP BY site, race ORDER by site, race
    Every variation I have tried for showing race by site either
    leaves out part of the results or creates a bar chart that has the
    race and site categories as separate entities (White, Black,
    Chinese, Site1, Site2, Site3, etc). I've also tried creating a
    combined variable (site_race) but that doesn't seem to fare any
    better.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Badunit's example is one possible arrangement that you might have described; that is, one column for X values and several columns for Y values. This is the case when you should respond that you are sharing X-values. With all the data in one table, you can select it all at once, so you don't have the problem with dragging additional series into the chart.
    The Numbers User Guide PDF's first chapter is the place to start getting your bearings - you will learn how to distinguish Header vs. Body rows and columns. It's worth the effort to take another look at it.
    Since you are using a Scatter Chart, it's important not to use a header column for X because X values must be Numeric, as opposed to Text.
