Multiple deletes using checkbox - how to?

I'm trying to figure out how to setup a master display list page with a check box that will allow the user to select multiple records for deletion. Currently I have a Delete and Edit URL on each of the repeating region rows which takes the user to an Edit or Delete confirmation page for updating or deleting. This all works fine but I'm having trouble grasping how to make this happend with checkbox on the Delete only, understanding that you cannot or would not want to update multiple records at once .

Have your form pass the db ID's of the selected items to your form script. The script would then loop through the items and build the values used in the where clause. Then call the delete statement:
Delete from MyTable where ItemID in ($mylist)

Thanks for the reply.. I also tried that way.. I face couple of issues
1) I could not find an option of saving a Draft Message
2) After multiple recipients(I have selected 12 recipients) in "TO" section, if I type a word in "TO" such as "Pre", it shows me all the contacts containing "Pre" but I cannot select the last contact incase there are more than 20 contacts coz I am unable to scroll down till the end.. If I do so.. I cannot select coz screen scrolls up automatically..

HTML form has 6 columns and many rows.
Now i want to update all 6 columns in the table for selected checkbox.

I did not understand your idea.
multiple columns can be updated as follows...
update table set col1=value,col2=value,col3=value where conditions;
We are using adodb driver in our environment. So I will explain concern to it. Store all the form new values in $var array and you can pass this $var to query execution.
A vague idea

my openion abt your problem is that, write a js function which will extract all that checked boxes or get such values in servlet. and retrives the unique id let me say the row whic you are going to delete is having a uniquely identified key someting like primary key. get such type of values... and the write the querty something like DELETE FROM tablename WHERE id="checked value"; try to use MVC pattern. which is easy to understand and to implement/modify the problem without effecting other code.

For example, deleting webmailbox letters using checkbox selected and delete button. The mail we checked will delete from the inbox.

I would like to modify the behavior for the lookup field.
Normally you get a screen where it is possible to search through a lookup. The items resulted from the search are listed as radiobutton items. Therefore you can select only one at the time to be added.
Is it possible to have the items to be listed as checkbox instead? So that you can check multiple items and therefore be able to add multiple items at the time?
For example:
To add the user to 10 different groups on MS-AD.
It is desired to have the ability to check multiple groups to be added instead only one at the time.
My client would like to use this feature in many other situations.

There is no group send option like you are looking for.
To send to a group you have to pick each person you want to send to and send as a group that way. Then don't delete that SMS thread and you can reuse it again later.
As for an app, well SMS works via your carrier and the OS, not something an App can do unless the app send the data to them (a third party) and then they relay it to the carrier. Do you really want to be sending your SMS to some 3rd party first?

How to use checkboxes in jtable ?

I am trying to use checkboxes in
JTable,I set the property in the jtable column to boolean.The proplem is that i do no know how to use this property in java program.My intension is that,I will have a java form and a java button on it,by clicking the button, i will have to write a code,for example a code that fetches records from a table and displays them on the jtable(on the user interface),when I select the check box corresponding to any row,It should let me either delete or edit that row and this modification has to be reflected to the table in the database. At this time,i can fetch and display but i can not delete or modify any row because I do no know how to use the check box inside the jtable.

   Try using this logic.This Code displays the list with check boxes. When you check a checkbox and press a button say 'Select All' or 'De Select all' or 'Display'. It will read the data of those records.

I'm trying to find a way to get multiple values using the following method
HttpSession.getAttribute(java.lang.String)
Here's the scenerio. Its a already written application and now i'm trying to make some changes. earlier in the jsp page a combo box was used and value was retrieved in the servlet using the getAttribute method of Session. Now I'm using a html multiple selection list and have to retrieve all the values selected in the list in the servlet. Can anyone please suggest me how to do that. HTTPRequest class has a method getParameterValues which will let me do that but i have to do is using HTTPSession.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do. You can only use session.getAttribute to retrieve something that has already been stored in the session with a previous setAttribute. If you need to store multiple values under one attribute name using setAttribute, you can store an array, or an ArrayList or whatever type of Collection you want. The request.getParameterValues method is the only way you can retrieve form parameters than can have multiple values. If the servlet hasn't already processed these parameters and put them into the session for you, you have to use request.getParameterValues.
