Multiple email sent/spam/trash folders and inboxes??

Hi,
I am thoroughly confused as to why i have these multiple folders. I use an IMAP account. Is it because Mail creates one sent folder and my email provider creates another?
I think it's very confusing. I'll have to hunt and peck to find a sent email or a trashed one.
Is it possible to merge these somehow?
Cheers!

Spacefish,
When using IMAP account you can have a few folders set-up depending on your settings within you mail app. You can have folder locally on you mac, but also on the sever for the IMAP account, ie. if you settings in mail keep sent mail on the sever, you will find a sent folder which is kept on the server holding all your sent items.
I have this set up on my iphone, so I can when I get to my office computer track the emails I have sent from my iphone, but have sent email from my work machine kept on my mac.
I hope this makes sense... It's getting late

  • I cannot see my email DRAFT, SENT, or TRASH folders

I've set up a POP email account on my iPad.  Mail is sent and received fine, but I do not see the DRAFT, SENT, or TRASH folders.  They appear only when I choose MOVE a file, but are not really accessible.

Tap account name at top left until you see Inboxes (with teh email boxes) them scroll down to see Accounts.
Select the Account you want to see DRAFT, SENT, or TRASH.

Solved the problem by clicking the gray triangle next to "On My Mac" and drilled down!

  • Delivery report shows status of Pending for external address. Email sent to both internal and external addresses.

We have an Exchange 2013 on-premise server and seem to have an issue with emails sent to internal and external users at the same time.
The issue came to light because someone sent an email to 44 recipients, of which one was internal. None of the external recipients received the email. I checked the delivery report in the EAC and found the internal email marked as 'Delivered' and all of
the external ones marked as 'Pending'. I checked the queues and there were none. I did some testing and sent an email to just one of the external addresses on the list, it arrived. I tried sending the email again to all of the recipients, the external ones
all showed 'Pending'. I tried it again, but this time excluded the internal email address and all of the 43 external emails were immediately delivered.
So it seems that the issue only arises when we are sending to both internal and external addresses.
I then tried a test email to one internal address and one external address. The Delivery report says that the internal address was delivered immediately, while the external address is 'Pending' and gives more information saying: 'Message delivery is taking
longer than expected. There may be system delays. For more information, contact your helpdesk.'. To add further mystery to this, the email was actually delivered.
    So, I have two concerns:
First is seems that some emails sent both internally and externally are only arriving internally. This is a huge problem because I don't know how many have been affected. There may be many lost emails we don't know about.
Second, it looks like I can't trust the delivery report. It says pending for some emails which didn't arrive, but it also says pending for some which did arrive. That is no good at all.
For info the server is running Windows Server 2012. I have run a Microsoft Update to check if there are any to apply and the only Exchange one is a spam filter update, which I doubt has any bearing but I will apply when I get chance.

    Hi Neil,
According to the description, I find a related KB on Exchange 2010:
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2694474?wa=wsignin1.0
It has the similar situation as yours.
This issue occurs because a function in a message tracking component tries to obtain the information for the recipient instead of the external recipient.
Please try to upgrade to the latest Exchange update to check whether this issue can be solved.
Also please check whether Throttling has been set.
Please run "Get-TransportService | fl" to check the MaxOutboundConnections parameter value.

  • Entourage Email - I have taken over someone else job so have her email account with all folders and past emails and have also added my own email account. How can I sync the folders- as I need to be able to see them on my iphone but its under her 'account'

I have taken over someone else job so have two email accounts on my Entourage - as the past account had all the folders and past emails when I sync my mail onto my iphone I can not see the folders and any past emails. How can I sync all of her old mail account info (emails and folders) to my email account to make ONE email account?!

I thought that originally too, but that's all changed with the pool of apps that are out there now. So now what I'm trying to do is to prove that technology is progressing to the point where a tiny, handheld phone can produce images that are nearly as good as photos taken with much more expensive and bulky equipment. I've got my share of expensive bulky camera equipment, but I'm finding that I'm having much more enjoyment out of using my iPhone from initial capture, to editing, to publishing, and achieving results that are nearly as good.
I do think you're working under a bit of a handicap. For example, lens quality. Here's an iPhone photo example of some wild turkeys in the neighborhood masked by flare that would be much better controlled on an SLR lens (click to enlarge - the flare is obvious, the turkeys are not):
At the same time, working under a handicap can definitely spur creativity, similar to the oft-cited example of swapping out your zoom lens for a prime to force yourself to pay attention to composition.
It's an interesting concept - I wish you luck!

  • Cannot sort emails sent from Mail App and Exchange

When trying to sort emails on Outlook in Windows, lets say by "Flag", emails coming from a mac using mail app and exchange get placed at the top of the list.
Have tried sending emails from the same account via webmail and iphone and they get sorted correctly.
    Anyone has had this problem?

    So, Here's what happens:
    1) Send email from Laptop (Snow Leopard) with Exchange Integration
    2) Send email from iPhone (3.1) with Exchange Integration
In Outlook 2003 sort by flag (neither of these messages are flagged). Any email sent from the Snow Leopard is sorted first in the Unflagged category in Outlook. Any of the email sent from the iPhone is sorted normally.
There's no differences in the headers to cause these to sort differently. The only headers that differ are the Date, Subject/Thread-Topic, Thread-Index, Message-ID, x-ems-stamp. But, in the Message-ID it has the same domain.
Both Snow Leopard and iPhone are configured to use the same Exchange OWA/OWS.

  • How to get emails sent using my iphone and gmail sent to my Outlook inbox?

I have set up my my Iphone Mail Account using gmail/googlemail.
If I send an e-mail from my iphone then it appears in my sent folder on my iphone but does not get sent to my Outlook inbox (when I carry out the Send/Receive function). However, when I send an e-mail using gmail webmail (rather than Outlook), the sent e-mail DOES get sent to my Outlook inbox.
How do I set things up (using my Iphone? Using gmail? Using Outlook?) to get e-mails sent using my iphone delivered to my Outlook inbox?

    Thanks for your efforts...
    ..but still not working yet.
I have deleted the account and created it again, using your instructions.
I do not know whether Outlook is configured as IMAP or not: sorry to sound ignorant but I am literate only up to a point!
I do not understand why e-mail that is sent via the webmail goes into my inbox...while e-mail sent via iphone does not. I would therefore imagine that I need to do something to my iphone (as you initially suggested) than to Outlook or Googlemail...but I am quite prepared to be told I am wrong.

  • My secondary email won't store messages in sent or trash folders?

No joy - I am still getting a warning sign popping up saying "Cannot send message using the server iCloud (iCloud)", along with a list of alternate SMTP servers to try, based on the other accounts my Mail program is connected to.
I wonder what the trouble is! Again, sending from my mobileme account/alias works fine.

There is no MobileMe anymore, you may have labelling problems.
In iCloud control panel deactivate Mail, then if you are still signed into Mobile Me, sign out.
Reactivate Mail in the control panel.

  • TS4002 Since update to IOS 7.03 , i show unread email in the unread folder and inbox, but when folders are open it updates and in large and small window says no email, but note at bottom still says unread email exist. The total is growing by the day.

Cannot see phantom supposed emails that are unread, its say on page no email, but bottom shows unreads, this only happened after upgrade to 7.03

    A reset may cure this.
Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

  • Multiple emails sent - apparently

This week I upgraded to Mavericks on MacBook Pro.
Now when sending email in Mail 7.1, the Mail Activity window tells me there are many (not just one) outgoing messages being sent!
Then I noticed that the number changes: and it turns out it seems to count the mails sent since you fired up the app.  Tells you '12 outgoing messages' when you have sent 11 already, and so on. Then resets when you close the app.
At least, I HOPE it is not really sending 12 (etc) copies, nor resending multiples of the previous outgoings...

Not only that - I just noticed that the Activity Window also tells me that 'X' mails are being dowloaded, where X is not the number of incoming mails, but the number of mails downloaded since I fired up the app!

  • Want multiple email accounts to download into 1 inbox

''locking this thread as duplicate, please continue at [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1033197 /questions/1033197]''
I have 5 email addresses, but I don't want to have 5 inboxes. Is there anyway to have all these email accounts download into one inbox?

    Hi,
What are the types of your accounts?
Normally, you can add multiple accounts in one Outlook profile. Click Start > Control Panel > Mail. Select the profile you created, click the Add button to
    add an account.
If you are using multiple Exchange accounts, things are a little different. Check this article for help:

  • Saving emails in macbook document folders and giving email a new title

When trying to organise my emails when I try and save them to my macbook client document folders (I have a folder for each client or customer) they save but only if I don't change the title. As soon as i try and change the title of the email I am saving it won't save properly and will only let me view in text document or it says I don't have a programme to open it and shall the mac look on the web. This is really annoying as for quick refs purposes I need to save emails with my own explanations of what they refer to - for example - "planning permission discussion" or "client contact details". If I just save the email without any description when I want to view it I click on "open in thunderbird" option.
    Any suggestions?

Not a mac user, but in other operating system the EML file extension is used to signify the "file type" is that in the description and your removing it perhaps?

  • How do I fix Multiple emails sent through camera

i have the 3G iphone. when i take a picture with my phone and then email it, the recipient receives it multiple times. i just tried sending myself a picture and i received it twice. i am not connected to the 3G network when sending. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, did you fix it and how?

What type of email account are you using? Have you contacted your provider to find out if there are any size limitations to sending attachments? Usually this behavior is on the server side.

  • HELP! multiple email addresses, need to consolidate and forward all at once

    1. I have 2 email addresses and would like to have only one. I tried to cancel my old email account, but apparently it is still open
    2. If I do have 2 email accounts, I would like to cancel it and make sure that I'm not paying for 2 accounts
    3. In this process, I have tried forwarding all of my important emails from my old email to my new one, but I'm unable to select all of them at once and forward them together. Is there a way that I can forward all of them at the same time without having to go through the time consuming process of doing them one by one?
    Thanks,
    glb1968

Can someone help me? I have a hundred or so emails to forward to me new address, and I really would like to avoid having to send them one by one. Does anyone know how to select all of them and send them at once?
