Multiple image selection.

Hi java professionals...
I have a coursework, to write an interface for NIM game.
My main problem is to select multiple images.
Basically I need to code something similar to this (http://www.robtex.com/robban/nim1.htm) design, like select several images, press the button and images should disappear.
Does anybody now how to do multiple selection of images? if it is possible of course..

You just need to capture mouse presses and do your
painting (images and such) onto a component.
You can use this to emulate "selecting images".
It would work something like this.
Paint your image somewhere in the component.
On a mouse click check if an image resides at that location on the
screen. If so set a virtual "selected" flag and draw whatever is
necessary to present it as such.
Good luck.

  • Multiple images selected; rate just one?

Is there a way in Aperture to have multiple images selected but change the rating on just the primary select? I could have sworn I've done this before but now, if I (for example) shift-click to select three images, clicking on one of them and changing the rating affects all three.

  • Rating 1 image when multiple images selected in Viewer

In the Viewer is there a way to rate only 1 of multiple images selected.
One usually views multiple variations or versions in the Viewer to be able to make a choice of which particular one to keep. However when you try and rate one of those all selected images take on the same rating/label etc.
Is there a way to rate only one image?
    Cheers

It is, thanks very much for prompt response.

  • Delete Versions/Delete Master and All Versions w/ Multiple Images Selected

When I select multiple images from a project (one image has a thicker white line around it and the other selected images have a thinner white line) and then select Delete Master and All Version the ONLY image that gets deleted is the one with the thicker white line. Whereas if I were to choose Delete Version all of the images are deleted?
Am I not able to perform Delete Master and All Versions on multiple files? It is not working for me.

  • Issue rating individual images when multiple images selected

In Lightroom 4.1 when rating (flags, stars or colors) a selected group of images all images selected will have the same flag applied. For instance if I select 10 images to view in the survey mode to compare and select 1 to be flagged as rejected all 10 will be flagged rejected, not just the one. Is there a way to turn this off to select a group of images and flag each differently?

Wonderful! Thank you so much, that worked. It has been driving me crazy for days!

  • Aperture 3 - Multiple Image Selection Bug?

I am experiencing an issue within Aperture (v3.0.3) where by from a project folder containing a large number of photos, I rate the ones I wish to keep (typically 3 * and above) and these are all automatically selected for an album.
Whilst this smart album shows the correct number of images, If I use these as the basis for a book or even a static album, a larger number of images (seems to include any within a series) appear.
    Am I using Aperture incorrectly?
Why does it show the correct number of images within the smart album, but copying everything shows a higher number within a book?
It also doesn't seem possible to show just a subset of photos within a book, so I have to get the number correct to save having to go through all photos for the book selection.
Is this a bug? It certainly appears to be a bug with the way in which this is working.
    Thanks for your feedback...

    Thanks for the response Kirby.
Essentially when I refer to 'series' I am talking about Aperture's stacks (I used the wrong phrase originally).
If I have a stack of 10 photos, however only a single one has been rated as 3 star or above (my criteria for being selected into the smart album and/or book), it seems that all 10 photos would appear in the books' photo selection.
This means that from one photo project where approximately 1800 photos were taken, I had rated around 200 of these as 3 star and above, which is the number of photos that correctly appears in the smart album.
If I then 'select all' from the smart album and use these as the basis for a book, I would expect to see only the 200 photos for selection within the book, however I see nearly 800 photos which is the total number of photos within the stacks visible in the smart album (whether photos are visible and rated sufficiently or not).
It's not possible to change the view of photos for the book selection process, so it appears to only list those photos you have chosen, however I see many photos I didn't "choose"...
Does this make it any clearer?
    Thanks

  • Multiple Images - selection for pre loading

The preload image behaviour supplied within Dreamweaver is fine up to a point, but it inserts javascript files and is a pain to use if, for instance, you have 20 or so images to load. Or maybe I'm just lazy!
It is possible to preload images using CSS2 (see http://www.thecssninja.com/css/even-better-image-preloading-with-css2 ) and in CSS3 (see http://perishablepress.com/press/2010/01/04/preload-images-css3/ )
But none of these give you the option to browse to a folder, select a group of images from it and paste the results into the  the code.
Has anyone found an extension that will do this?

    >>What seems to be happening the first time is the
    image isn't loaded before
    >>the fade is finished, so the image just appears after
    a short pause the
    >>first time.
As has been said many times in thos forum - use the
    MovieClipLoader class to
load images, and then use that class' onLoadInit method to do
    things with
the loaded image. Loading is asynchronous - you _have_ to
    wait until the
image is done loading before doing a fade.

  • You SHOULD be able to apply batch changes just by selecting multiple images

Don't get me wrong, i love lift/stamp. It's very helpful.
BUT, I really hate the fact that in Aperture you can't just drag-select a group of images and then either apply adjustments to all of them, or –more often– keywords.
Why does Aperture keep you from doing this?
At the very least, you should have the OPTION in PREFS to do this. Or not.

I'm sorry you are having difficulty.
It's simple: you select multiple images, right?. One has a thick white border and the others have thin ones. But, even though you have multiple images selected, if you input keywords, or other metadata, or an adjustment from the Inspector, it only applies to the "primary" image.
There should be an option to have that be the case... OR, if you want, to apply whatever adjustment from the INSPECTOR you choose... and have that be applied to those multiple images.
"...why would anyone be likely to want to see each single adjustment step applied to a large number of images before settling on the preferred combination?"
    Because everyone's not you.
I just shot 100+ table tops that were VERY similar lighting / angles / etc. And I needed to comp them out for the client ASAP. The technique I described would've saved me a lot of time. Instead I had to do ONE image of the mini-batches, and then lift/stamp the rest. When it would've been so much easier for me to drag-select the 8, or 15 in a group, and assign them all keywords at the same time, and do some adjustments. Bam. Quicker.
Oh, and per the "what is the universe" question? You don't have to look any further than Apple's own operating system to see this "crazy" and "unique" technique in action: go to FINDER, select multiple items of folder (drag around them), and then CTRL-Click and choose a label color. Viola! ALL the items become that color.
Like I said, I'm only suggesting Apple provide the OPTION of working this way. And it IS the norm in most operating system / program environments.
In fact, watch the Lynda.com vid on Aperture 3: the MetaData portion, the guy drag-selects a bunch of images and says "...now, you'd THINK you could just enter some keywords for these similar images and have them stick... you'd be wrong. You have to use lift/stamp for that. For some odd reason."

  • Apply to Multiple Images in Filmstrip as in Grid

I would like to see multiple images selected in filmstrip at bottom in loupe view mode act the same way as they do in grid mode. I can't understand the purpose the way it is now??? If I select multiple images in the filmstrip while in loupe view and add keywords, make quick develop changes, flag, unflag, etc.., I want it applied to all images selected. It's a pain to have to switch back to grid view and then make changes to all images that way. It should work the same for both, meaning apply to all images selected.
    Thanks for listening-
    Scott

I agree with you fully Scott.
Lee: If the filmstrip isn't visible, then we wouldn't be able to select multiple images from there anyway so this would be a moot point. Remember, Scott and I want to use the images selected in the filmstrip and in order to do so, you can safely assume that we know how to make it visible when we need it to be.
Don: I can live with multiple selections in the filmstrip not applying in Develop mode, but IMO it would be more logical to have the filmstrip operate the same way as grid mode when using the Library Module, in fact, why even allow multiple selects in the filmstrip if I can't make changes to the files that I have knowingly selected?
It is helpful to be able to select multiple files in the filmstrip and have metadata apply to all of the selected files while NOT in grid mode because sometimes I need to zoom into an image to check that the batch keywords that I have just typed in actually do apply to a particular image. It saves a step not having to go back to grid mode to apply to the whole batch.

  • Can't add or remove a keyword from MULTIPLE images

    Hi:
I've tried the trick of using SHIFT-RETURN (instead of RETURN) to REMOVE a keyword instead of adding it, after you type in the keyword in the Add Keyword box of the Keyword Controls window.
However that only removes the keyword from the current active image:
even if I have multiple images selected, only the current "active" image gets updated.
(Using aperture 2.1.1 on mac os x 10.5.4.)
Any pointers on what the problem might be?
(UPDATE: same problem exists in reverse: trying to ADD keyword to multiple images using one of the keyword buttons, but only currently active image is updated, the other images in my selection are NOT updated with the new keyword.)

  • Lightroom 2.0 will not allow multiple image keywording

Lightroom 2.0 intermittently will not allow me to add keywords to multiple image selections (two or more images selected). The first image selected gets keyworded and the rest do not. Is anyone else having this problem, and if so, have you been able to find a fix.
    Thanks.

Thanks, that took care of the problem.
I missed that in the Lightroom "manual".

  • Cannot select multiple images in iPhoto '08?

What am I doing wrong? I want to select multiple images to either print several on a page, or publish to a gallery, but for the life of me I cannot find a view which shows me all photo thumbnails or all thumbnails in an album or all in an event. I can spin the mousewheel to singly go through them, or I can hit edit and go to full screen where I get a thumbnail bar and can select multiples and view them at the same time, but printing or publishing this selection only recognizes the first photo as selected. If I try to select View>Thumbnails, the subsequent menu options are grayed out, and the top one is "hide" even though I see no thumbnail bar. Is there something very obvious I'm missing, or has something gone awry and I should reinstall?
    <Edited by Host>
    Any one can help them?
    Thanks

There's a slider down right of the iPhoto Window - drag it left.

  • Selecting multiple images to edit the source code

Hi. Does anyone know if there's a way to select multiple
images in a table and change there source code. The reason why I
ask is that I recently decided to organize my assets folder by
adding subfolders. Naturally, this makes my images appear as broken
links. It's a pretty big site that I'm working on and I would like
to know if there is a faster way than just selecting them one by
    one.

If you would have created the folders within DW itself (file
management), and moved images from one
folder to the other, the links would have been adjusted
    automatically. Carrying out changes like
this outside of DW will create broken links as you have
    found.
Did you backup the original site, if so, and have a lot of
broken links, it maybe worthwhile, going
back to the original and use the file management to
rename/create new folders and move your assets
    that way.

  • Selecting multiple images in a table

Hi. I have a website and have recently decided to organize my
assets folder by creating subfolders. However, this has made all of
the pictures on my site turn into broken source codes. Is there a
way to select multiple images within a table and edit the source
code? If anyone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it!

You should always do this kind of thing using DW's Files
panel - DW will manage your links when you do.
Did you move all of the images into the same subfolder, or
different ones? If the latter, you will just have to remake all of
the links one by one. If the former you may be able to do
find/replace to find the old links and replace with the new folder
    path.
