  • Multiple IDocs - XI - Flat file

    We are looking at a scenario to send multiple IDOCS from SAP to Flat File. We implemented this using the Collect Pattern in BPM, merge all the IDocs into a single message and write it in a file. But is there any a way to avoid BPM and still be able to send multiple IDOCS in a package to be written onto one file?
    Thanks
    Vinoda

    Hi,
    I think this is possible using PACKAGING.
    Check this note <b>814393</b> on Service Market Place.
    <i>You want to create or process an XI message with multiple instances of an IDoc (of the same IDoc or extension type) in the mapping.
    The payload of the relevant message is to have the following the format:
    <IDOCTYP>
    <IDOC>...</IDOC>
    <IDOC>...</IDOC>
    </IDOCTYP>
    To be able to process these messages in the message mapping of the source system and to create them in the target system, you need an XML schema for the IDOC that allows multiple instances of the IDOCtag.
    If the relevant IDOC is imported into the Integration Repository, the system generates an XML schema that sets the number of instances of the IDOC tag to exactly one.
    The following describes how you can manually change the XML schema so that multiple instances of the IDOC tag are allowed, and how you can make the modified XML schema available to an adequate message mapping.
    Other terms
    IDoc packaging
    Reason and Prerequisites
    The relevant IDoc is imported into the Integration Repository.
    Solution
    1) Log on to the Integration Repository.
    2) Open the relevant IDoc in the object editor.
    3) Select the "Export XSD" menu option in the "Tools" menu.
    4) In the subsequent dialog box, assign a file name and save the data to the hard disk of your local PC.
    5) Open the file that you have saved in step 4 in an adequate editor (for example, Notepad) for editing.
    6) Locate the first entry: <xsd:element name="IDOC" type="<
    Idocname>"> and add the following expression, maxOccurs="unbounded", between the value of the type attribute and the closing angular bracket.
    Example:
    <xsd:element name="IDOC" type="ADR2MAS.ADR2MAS02"
    maxOccurs="unbounded">
    7) Save the modified file to the hard disk of your local PC.
    8) In the message mapping, use the file saved in step 7 instead of the imported IDoc by using the "Import XML or XSD" function in the mapping tool to select the source or target messages.

  • Error while trying to process multiple Recordsets in Flat file.

    Hi All,
    I am working on Flat File to Flat File scenario and my structure is as follows.
    Recordset
         Record1
              Field1
              Field2
         Record2
              Field3
              Field4
         |
         Record9
              Field5
              Field6
         I am going to receiver multiple Recordsets from my input and need to pass them as output flat file after doing some manipulations in mapping(I am using Java mapping).
         In Moni I am able to see multiple Recordset XMLs created but the message is failing in receiver communication channel with error
    "Failed to process message content. Reason: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed in XML parser: 'Conversion configuration error: Unknown structure '' found in document', probably configuration error in file adapter (XML parser error)' (Software version: 3.0.1)"
         When I am trying to pass Single Recordset I am able to see the output, but when I am trying with multiple Recordsets it is throwing error.
         Can anybody help me in finding the root cause to this problem.
         My Receiver channel Content conversion is as follows.
         RecordsetStructure: Record1,Record2, -- - - ,Record9
              Record1.fieldFixedLengths
              Record1.fieldNames
              Record1.endSeparator so on till Record9
    Regards,
    Jayaram.G

    You might want to check the following things
    Are u specifying field names,separators for Record1,Record2..Record9.
    Is you occurence repeats after record1..record9 again?
    Change your  structure occurence as per the runtime data you provide..
    See whether your java mapping modifies the structure that does not match with fcc configuration. You might want to pay attention over there too.

  • Script or command line to comment out multiple lines in flat files

    I am looking for a way to go through multiple flat files within the same directory for the occurance of a server name and if found to insert a comment (#) at the beginning of the line. Currently, I am grepping for the server name within the directory and then doing a vi on each individual flat file to comment out the line. The server name is separated by the pipe (|) symbol and each line of every file is in this format:
    webservers:WEBSERVER|Env Name|servername|application name
    So, in the above, I am grepping for the servername part and if found in there, I want to change the line to:
    #webservers:WEBSERVER|Env Name|servername|application name
    I would think there would be a way of doing this either with command line Perl or with maybe awk or sed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    You could do something like this with a ksh shell script:
    #!/usr/bin/ksh
    for file in `ls`; do
            echo $file
            sed 's/^webserver/#webserver/g' $file > $file.parsed; mv $file.parsed $file
    doneThis will go through everyfile in the directory and search for "start of line" webserver and replace it with "#webserver". Then the file will get move back to the original file name.
    If you just want to change certain files ie. only filenames with the word "server" in it, then change:
    for file in `ls`; do to something like
    for file in `ls *server*`; doHope this help...
    Cheers

    Hi,
    You have to MessageTransformBean Module.
    The MessageTransformBean module enables conversion of XML files to flat files and vice versa. You can use this module in the sender and receiver communication channels.
    In receiver communication channel, specify MessageTransformBean module before standard adapter module CallSapAdapter and use
    Module Name: localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean
    Module Key : XML2Plain
    Please see the below links, it might be useful to you.

  • Loading multiple flat file at a time.

    hi experts,
    I am having 15 flat files with same data structure.so how do i load all the fileswith out creating 15 info packges .
    ( say all the files are on the desktop.)
    I had seen the option that ABAP code an be written in info package in extraction tab.
    Can any one share me the abap code
    Regards
    Laxman.

    You can write dynamic code using ABAP if your number of flat files are not fixed...but if you have to 15 flat files always just creating multiple infopackages.
    For code, you have to store file names/name pattern in some table and reading it at run time. You can use function modules starting with BAPI_IPAK* to create/change/start template IP like BAPI_IPAK_START. You can set IP parameters at run time using FM RSBATCH_MAINTAIN_PAR_SETTINGS.

  • How to load multiple flat files

    Hi,
    I am new to ODI 10, I have one requirement where I need load flat files containing the folder size11GB.
    I want to load them all in a single instances with using of single data server, single physical schema and single logical schema.
    How can we do this.
    Also to execute this in package what steps and precautions do we need to follow.
    Thx

    Is the data in your files the same format?
    If so, simply follow one of the many guides to looping around files that use a common structure to load them, you can do this in parallel if you want.

  • BizTalk Mapper - Looping multiple nodes to map to a single node in a single row (flat file)

    Hi everybody,
    I'm still new in developing BizTalk app and require some help in this one problem. Appreciate your time and input to help me on this.
    Basically I have an XML document as input and a flat file as output. Example for input is as per below. The "Contact" node's maxOccurs here is set to unbounded and could be multiple. (phone, fax, website, telex ...)
    <root>
    <CustomerName>Company A</CustomerName>
    <Contact>
    <Type>Phone</Type>
    <Locator>03566789</Locator>
    <Type>Phone</Type>
    <Locator>03566790</Locator>
    <Type>Fax</Type>
    <Locator>03566795</Locator>
    <Type>Telex</Type>
    <Locator>03566798</Locator>
    <Type>Website</Type>
    <Locator>www.companyA.com</Locator>
    </Contact>
    </root>
    The expected output in XML would look like below. The final outcome would be a csv file. Strictly Phone 1, phone 2, fax and telex, the rest would be ignored.
    <root>
    <CustomerName>Company A</CustomerName>
    <Phone1>03566789</Phone1>
    <Phone2>03566790</Phone2>
    <Fax>03566795</Fax>
    <Telex>03566798</Telex>
    </root>
    Example of expected output result (csv file): CompanyName;Phone1;Phone2;Fax;Telex;
    In our case here: Company A;03566789;03566790;03566795;03566798;
    Another example could be: Company B;036778911;;036778912;; if only 1 phone number and 1 fax number provided.
    I've used Table Looping and Table Extractor and nearly got the desired result except that it is represented in multiple rows instead of one: Example:
    Company A;03566789;;;
    Company A;;03566790;;;
    Company A;;;03566795;;
    Company A;;;;03566798;
    Any idea how to do the mapping? I'm kind of stuck here and it sounds like an easy problem but i could not find any example to the solution that I need here. Table looping and table extractor is ok to map from single node flat file to multiple nodes but not
    the reverse like in this example.
    rgds,

    Hello Jens,
    you have to process the InfoPackage 239 times. Your routine would be executed once during one processing of the InfoPackage. This would run the WHILE statement and end up with the last filename after 239 iterations.
    Either try to concatenate the files you want to load (if possible) and load them in one go. Alternatively you could try to use a process chain to run the InfoPackage 239 times.
    Kind regards,
    Christoph

  • Create a flat file with multiple characters for enclosures

    Hello,
    we use OWB 11g2 (11.2.02).
    Now we try to create a flat file with multiple characters for enclosures. The manual wrote:
    "Enclosures (Left and Right): Some delimited files contain enclosures that denote text strings within a field. If the file contains enclosures, enter an enclosure character in the text box or select one from the list. The list displays commonenclosures. However, you may enter any character. The default for both the left and right enclosure is the double quotation mark ("). You can specify multiple characters and hexadecimal characters as field enclosures."
    But it will not work. The OWB use the first character from the left enclosure definition as left enclosure and the second one as right enclosure !?!
    Did anyone know this behavior? Is there a solution for this problem?
    Thanks and regards
    Norbert

    HI Raghu,
               Use the function module 'GUI_UPLOAD'.
               In that you have to specify the field_separator value = 'X' in export section.

  • BAPI_PO_CREATE1 not able to create PO's for multiple rows from the flat fil

    Hi
    i am uploading PO's from a flat file into SAP using the BAPI_PO_CREATE1. Everything works fine if the flat file hast only one record.
    if the flat file has more than one record then while loading the second record the BAPI returns a error message. I am calling the BAPI in a loop.
    The strange thing is that if i load the second record individually the program is able to create the PO. So only when i have multiple records in the flat file i am unable to load the PO into SAP. I debugged and checked all the internal tables passed to the BAPI. All seems to have the data correctly but still the BAPI fails.
    any idea where i am going wrong?
    the code looks something like this.
    LOOP AT HEADER_ITAB.
       PERFORM FILL_HEADER_RECORDS.
    LOOP AT ITEM_ITAB WHERE EBELN eq HEADER_ITAB-EBELN.
         PERFORM FILL_ITEM_RECORDS.
    ENDLOOP.
      PERFORM CERATE_PO_VIA_BAPI.
    ENDLOOP.

    What is the error message. Are you trying something like this:
        LOOP AT T_DATA1.
          AT NEW LIFNR.
            READ TABLE T_DATA1 INDEX SY-TABIX.
            PERFORM INIT_TABLES.

  • Flat File-to-RFC question, multiple RFC calls for one file.

    Hi guys,
    I'm quite new to XI / PI and I have a question regarding a File-to-RFC scenario we're trying in NW PI 7.1.
    We have a flat file which has two lines with two fields each, let's take this as an example :
    001,001
    002,002
    The files needs to be converted to XML and then transferred to the RFC program which will update a table with the values above.
    In the ESR I've created 3 data types (z_row1,z_record1 and z_fileinput1), 1 message type (z_file2rfc_ob_mt), 1 message mapping (z_file2rfc_mm), 2 Service Interface (z_file2rfc_ob_si and z_file2rfc_ib_ztestpi) and 1 operation mapping (z_file2rfc_om).
    In the Integration Builder (ID) I've created everything required (The sender and receiver communication channels, sender and receiver agreement, receiver determination and interface mapping).
    We're also using content conversion to convert the flat file to XML, this does seem to work because I see all the lines/field in the message when it gets into PI. The problem is that the RFC can only accept two fields at a time and only the first line gets updated. I see that only the first line gets sent to the RFC.
    How can I make the RFC call for each and every line ?
    Thanks !!

    Create the RFC with table, which takes multiple lineitem as input and update the table in single call.
    If you want response back then call RFC as synchrounous else in Asynchrounous mode.
    By doing this in single call it will update the complete table.
