Multiple letters to be printed in single run

Hi,
I have a requirement, where in on the given input date, I need to fetch all payments made back to customer (refund) and then a letter intimating each one of them about the refund made by the co. will be sent.
From the date I can fetch all the required details for the letter to be printed for each customer, but in sap script I have never come across a case where in, in a single run (with date) multiple letters are created in spool.
I have developed many scripts where in a single execution provides single letter. or user uses the script program multiple times, but in the above payment case nos. can exceed into thousands so multiple runs of the script program for each customer is actually not feasible.
Request to provide a solution for the situation.

Try implementing follownig logic.
After collecting all details in the internal table.
loop at itab.
at new customer.
open_form.
endat.
start_form. 1
write_form. 1
end_form.   1

at end of customer.
close_Form.

endloop.
And it should work in the scenario mentioned. I believe this will create individual spool request for each customer.

I need to print 4 forms (Export Invoice, packing List, Enclosure to Packing list, Case marking) within a single print prog .
User will execute this prog and it should print all the 4 forms and then by clicking on a button(Archive) there

At present my following program directly download this form(only Export Invoice) to a pdf file but doesnt leave options to go to Print or Print Preview .

Hello,
You cannot get continuous page numbers, But you will be able to merge all the 4 form outputs into one PDF file.
In yesterdays example you called one form, then converted OTF data into PDF data and downloaded on Presentation server.
In this case, after you call first form, you get the OTF data. Push this OTF data into a MAIN Internal table ( Same type as of OTF dada Int TAB ). Then Call second form. Then you get second set of OTF data. This second set of OTF data may be appended to the MAIN Internal table and the follw same procedure for the rest of the forms. In the end you will have one Internal table which holds OTF data of all the 4 forms.
Now convert the OTD data to PDF Data by the FM and Download one file which has output of all the 4 forms.
I hope my explanation is quite clear.
Regarding your second question, the Archive and Print and archive buttons on the PRINT PREVIEW screen works for Spool archiving which is to be enabled by customizing. If you wish to archive the output as PDF, you may have to do it in program.

How to print multiple mail forms in a single run?

How can multiple, personalized letters be printed out from SAP CRM 7.0?
Business requirement:
When for example entrance tickets for a trade fair are sent to a group
of customers, the accompanying letters are to be printed out of the CRM
system.
In SAP CRM 5.0 this was done by creating a marketing campaign, linking
a target group & assigning a mail form to it.
By selecting the communication medium "Printer" it was possible to
print multiple letters in one run and send these documents by mail (not e-mail).
The quantities of letters that have to be sent are too small to
outsource the job to an external service provider (e.g. a printing house).
In the latest version of SAP CRM the communication medium "Printer" is
however no longer available in marketing campaigns.
Does anyone know how this requirement can be met in SAP CRM 7.0?

We considered working this way, but the idea was dropped because the quantities of letters that have to be sent are too large (several hundreds) & also because no follow-up of these activities is needed.

I am selecting set of rows from the table for the employee id. After selecting those records,
i need to go through the result list and check the condition 1, if it is met, i will return that employee record.
If that condition 1 is not met, then i need to go through the condition 2. If that is met, i will return that record.
Like wise, i have four conditions.
I am trying to achieve this in a single sql. If i am not clear, please let me know.Not fully clear yet, but the picture is better already. The thing with SQL is that you should stop thinking procedurally. Instead think in data sets.
For example if the task is:
Find all managers that work in sales.
Procedural thinking would work like this:
pseudo code
Loop over all employees that work in sales
   for each row
       check if it is a manager
           if manager
              then return record
           else
              do nothing
           end
end loopThinking in datasets will result in a different logic
pseudo code
select all employees
where department = SALES
and job = MANAGERThis advantage here is that all the "Do nothing" loops are not needed. Those are already eliminated by the database.
So what is needed to help you? Give the full picture. What is your task that you try to solve. From a business perspective.

Multiple Instances of OEDQ on a single server

Hi,
I am running a Linux Machine (Linux 2.6.18-308.1.1.0.1.el5), on which I have the latest version of Oracle 11g release 2 installed.
I have an instance of oracle Enterprise Data Quality tool running on an apache-tomcat-7 server. Port 8080
Now I have a requirement of Installing another instance of OEDQ on the same server, but a different APACHE_HOME directory and a different Port Number (8081).
So the question is, Can we install multiple instances of OEDQ on a single server?
If so, what are the prerequisites to be maintained.
I did my bit of tries, but ended up having issues with some java errors.

Hi,
Multiple instances of EDQ on a single server is technically possible provided the installer takes care to avoid port conflicts. It is not the case that there is a single port used by an EDQ server, for example.
For various reasons, it is not officially supported; attempting to diagnose issues on custom installations on Tomcat is especially difficult and we do not provide documentation on this. In general, the requirement usually comes up for Dev/Test instances (as there is no performance advantage of using multiple instances on a single server), where we would recommend the use of virtualization where this is a requirement.

When i select the parameter as '1' then 'XX-PAY1' has to run else 'XX-PAY2'.
if its possible could you please tel us where to define the parameters in Setups.

How to install multiple E-Business Suite in a single server?

Hello,
I read somewhere that we can install multiple E-Business Suite in a single server as long as the storage is enough, is it true? If yes do any of you can give me the steps to install it or refer me to a link? I'd searched here but couldn't find it, hope that I didn't miss something. What I want to do is install Vision database and another one is fresh install for testing, both in a single server. There will be about 20 people accessing that system. What kind of hardware must I use? Thanks.

If you want to run 2 instances concurrently, It would be safe to assume you want 8 GB of RAM plus enough storage to host both instances, backups, archive logs, patches etc. For CPU, most entry level servers can be single, dual or quad socket, or CPU socket. Most CPUs are dual core, meaning there are 2 physical CPU cores in each socket. So if you get a 2 socket dual core server, you see 4 physical CPUs on the operating system. If you get a 4 socket dual core server, you see 8 physical CPUs. If you want to run R12 applications, you will definately need 4 GB of ram per instance (E-Business Suite installation). 11i might get by on 3 GB of ram per instance.

Connecting multiple ColdFusion 10 instances to a single Apache 2.2 server

This is replicated from StackOverflow's "Server Fault" site. The CF community there is under represented, so I'm posting here too. Sorry for "cross post".
This is on Windows 7 Home Premium edition.
I have got two ColdFusion 10 (updater 2) instances: "cfusion" (the default one), and "scratch".
I have got a single instance of Apache 2.2 running.
Within Apache, I have set up two virtual hosts, each of which needs to be served by a different ColdFusion instance.
Each of the CF instances serves files fine via Tomcat's internal web server. Apache serves vanilla HTML files fine too. So both CF instances, and both virtual hosts separately work OK.
I can get wsconfig.exe to connect either one of the CF instances to the Apache server, and serve CF files via Apache & that instance.
However I cannot find a way of connecting the second CF instance to Apache as well, so that both CF instances are conected, each serving one of the virtual hosts. WSConfig doesn't seem to understand the notion of "multiple CF instances", and the changes it makes to the httpd.conf (via mod_jk.conf) does not seem to be implemented in such a way as to accommodate multiple CF instances talking to a single Apache instance, or multiple virtual hosts. I freely admit to not being confident enough with how mod_jk (or even really httpd.conf) works to be able to guess if I can change stuff to make it work.
If I try to add the second CF instance using WSConfig, I just get a message "the web server is already configured for ColdFusion". Be that as it may... not the instance of ColdFusion I want to connect it to! If I remove the existing connector to whichever instance is already connected, I can then connect the other one no problems. Not that this helps, but it demonstrates that the CF instance can connect to Apache.
This all used to be fairly straight fwd under older versions of CF and JRun :-(
The only docs I have found are on the "Connect multiple Apache virtual hosts on a web server to a single ColdFusion server" page (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Admin/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbf364104-7fd 5.html), but that specifically only deals with a single CF instance. There is no equivalent page for multiple CF instances.
I'm kinda hoping I can move some of the mod_jk config into my virtual host entries in httpd-vhosts.conf (this is how it used to work for JRun), but I've no idea what to put where.

The answer to your question is Yes, a single mediator can invoke two service calls at same time as well.
First, define your service references in the composite.xml
Once you have done that, you can add any number of routing rules for each operation defined in the mediator. In your case, you will need to add two static routing rules within the same operation in the Mediator file. You can also select whether the calls will be sequential or parallel by selecting correct value in the dropdown inside the routing rule. Each routing rule will invoke one service reference in your case.

Color printing problems: Single documents vs batch printing

I'm using a Canon C5250 to print 550 PDFs (15 at a time in batchs). The colors on the singly printed PDFs differ greatly from the colors on the batch printed documents.
I have created settings on my computer to manage the color, but the settings don't seem to apply to batch printed documents.

I am using Acrobat XI Standard. I realize now I'm probably on the wrong forum.
Once I open a folder with multiple (4-125) PDFs my selections are Organize, Burn, New folder
Once I select an individual PDF or multiple (up to 15) PDFs, my options are Organize, Open with Adobe Acrobat XI, Print, Burn and New Folder.
My problem is that the color I get when I select a group of 15 PDFs and select Print from the options that appear as described the color from document to document is inconsistent.
I can open each PDF, and even a group of PDFs, and print them singlely and I get the correct color--time after time. Repeating this process 550 times for the set of reports that I print is not the desired process.

Can we have multiple database audit specification on a single server audit ?

We are having a 2 node Sql Clustered instance of SqlServer 2008 R2 Enterprise running
on windows server 2008 R2. We have about 88 databases in the instance.
Our servers run on Intel Xeon(R) CPU X5670 @2.94 GHz with 6 cores(12 logical processor).
The servers are having 12GB of RAM.
We are planning to introduce database level audit to find if there is any activity on
some of our databases. These databases are not growing in size and there is a request
from the application team to ascertain whether the endusers are accessing the database
over a period of time. In this context I have 2 queries-:
1)Can we have multiple database audit specification on a single server audit ie can we
audit multiple databases to find out the user activity on those databases at a time? Or
should we a separate server audit for each database audit specification?
2)We plan to have the target of the audit on a file on the same shared volume(lun) where
the MDF file and LDF files are located(in EMC storage) and in this context what performance
monitor counters should we watch to ascertain whether there is any performance degradation
due to introduction of server audit.

As Auditn is at the SQL Server instance level. You can have multiple audits per SQL Server instance.

The Database Audit Specification object also belongs to a SQL Server audit. You can create one database audit specification per SQL Server database per audit.
The database audit specification collects database-level audit actions raised by the Extended Events feature. You can add either audit action groups or audit events to a database audit specification. Audit events are
the atomic actions that can be audited by the SQL Server engine. Audit action groups are predefined groups of actions. Both are at the SQL Server database scope. These actions are sent to the audit, which records
them in the target. Do not include server-scoped objects, such as the system views, in a user database audit specification.

You can also consider using a Profiler trace file to capture the events.

Print Documentation - re-running

We are transfering projects from RoboHelp 4x to RoboHel 7 - running the Print Documentation function was not reviously done, so we are just learning to work with the settings, etc..and how it works so that work is not duplicated each time on-line Help is updated.
Question: finished doing some formatting in Word after generating Print Documentation, will 'formatting' and editing be retained if the Print Documentation is run again? or will formatting need to be re-done?

Consider creating a printed document from RoboHelp to be similar to baking a cake. The Single Source Layout properties is very much like the recipe used. The Word Document you get in the end is very much like the cake that would result.
You are describing editing the Word document. This is like smearing icing on your cake. You can't expect to bake another cake and have it already iced.
So to specifically answer your question, you will indeed need to re-format the document if you create Printed Documentation again.

Allow multiple text fields in Print Module with flexible editing.

I'm with you on this. LR 3 has come along way on the print module but placing text anywhere on the page at any angle using any system font would go long way in making a great looking album page. If you are in the senior market you could add the customers name to a wallet sized image.
