Multiple Level Sub Catalogs

I am setting up an online store with many catalogs and each catalog has several layers of sub catalogs.
Only the deepest level of catalogs has products. e.g. Automotive Locks /GMH/Parts And Accessories, where only the "Parts and Accessories" has products in it.
The ""GMH" sub catlog also has a number of subcatalogs under it.
When I render the top level catalog on a web page, and click on the second level sub catalog, it does not show the 3rd level sub catalogs...it just show a message "This catalog has no products".
How can you get the 2nd level sub catalog to display the 3rd level sub catalogs within it?

Hi Mario,
I have set up one page for you to look at: http://locksuppliescomau.businesscatalyst.com/locksupplies-keys?Preview=True
When I do not use any template, the catalogs all render into the various levels correctly ( and without a template it looks terrible). When I apply ANY template, including the original untouched template, they do not render at all as you can see. There is the top level list of catalogs, and when you click on any top level catalogue, the next page renders with no sub catalogs...
I have checked the overall layout, and it does have {tag_cataloguelist} as the code below shows..I have even added it a second time to see what happens.
<div class="main-panel">
<div class="breadcrumbs">
{module_breadcrumbs,<span>&gt;&gt;</span>}
</div>
</div>
<div class="shop-main clear">
<div class="header clear">
<div class="cart-summary">{module_shoppingcartsummary,horizontal}</div>
</div>
<div class="body clear">{tag_cataloguelist,4} {tag_productlist,3,,6,,,true} </div>
<div class="paging">
<div class="footer clear">
<div class="previous-holder">{tag_previouspage,<img alt="" src="/images/gpPrev.jpg" />}</div>
<div class="next-holder">{tag_nextpage,<img alt="" src="/images/gpNext.jpg" />}</div>
<div class="pagination-holder">{tag_pagination}</div>
<div class="pagination-holder"><br />
</div>
<div class="pagination-holder">{tag_cataloguelist}<br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
Thanks,
Glen.

  • How to work with Product Catalogs that have multiple levels

    I'm having difficulty understanding how to go about setting up a catalog site with multiple levels in the hierarchy. For example, the standard walkthroughs will display product categories and products. When the product category page is viewed, it displays
    a list of products. That's fine.
    I would like to have categories, sub-categories, and products. For example:
    1. Bicycles
      a. Road Bikes
      b. Mountain Bikes
    2. Clothing
      a. shirts
      b. shorts
    The top level landing page should list all categories. Clicking on a category should take the user to a page that lists all sub-categories for that category. How are these landing pages created? It's simple to display the list of products in a sub-category,
    as that's just a content search. But how do I generate a list of subcategories (or categories) dynamically, without having to manually create a page for each one?
    Also, each category / subcategory should have it's own metadata, such as description, contact info, etc.
    Thanks,
    Mike G.

    after you connect to a product catalog in site settings->manage catalog connections in a publishing site, page layouts and pages will created automatically for you in the publishing site. for a simple test, you can just leave everything to it's default
    value when you connect to a catalog. you can find address for these page created in site settings->term store management tool, click on the term under your site collection group, and open the term-driven pages.

  • Help with Sub-catalog CSS not rendering properly

    I am having a issue with  deep Sub-catalogs not displaying an external style sheet, possibly being overwritten by modulestylesheet?
    Sorry if it looks a little sloppy, the site is still a work in progress...
    If you look here at this main catalog : http://www.4plotters.com/shop/   --------- >the css is being applied properly,
    the next level down here : http://www.4plotters.com/shop/Toner-Ink  --------------> css also applied properly.
    but... when you go one more level deep   here : http://www.4plotters.com/shop/Toner-Ink/ink-wide-format  -----> css is not being applied from my external css (much of its functionality is to overwrite the modulestyle sheet) Notice the link colors change to blue, and the catalog images and headers don't match the catalogs before it.
    I have some other external twitter bootstrap css files that are still being applied, so I am a little confused. I am fairly new to css and html (and self taught) so I might be just missing some fundamental precedence rules.
    Thanks in advance!
    *Edit* When I change the parent catalog to the top level "Shop" catalog, the css is once again applied properly. It is something about being 2 or 3 levels deep that breaks the css link.

    Hi,
    Go into your template and remove the ".." prior to the CSS reference to help correct this issue.

  • How Do I Display A Sub-Catalog/Category Header?

    I can not for the life of me figure out how to display a sub-catlog's header on the page using the various templates?
    I have the code for the main catalog working fine but I can not get the sub-Catalog headers to appear on page in the same way.
    I have this in place which is working via the overall layout:
    <div class="products-a category catList">
    <h1 class="page_title">{tag_name}</h1>
    {tag_cataloguelist,2,,50,,true,true}
    <div role="navigation" class="pagination-a">
    {tag_pagination}
    </div>
    </div>
    Any ideas on how to get this working as I need to display the sub-catlogs headers on the page :-)

    Little tip.
    Do'nt
    Remove that right away.
    If you do that what you will have is that as your h1 on the product page as well because they all share the same layout. This will mean in terms of SEO search engines like google will go to your product page see the main h1 (first) being the catalog name index that. ALL your products in that catalog will have the same name.

    Class CL_SALV_HIERSEQ_TABLE  -  Can this class be used for multiple level heirarchial sequential list ?
    It works perfect for 2 level heirarchial list u2013 Thanks to Rich Heilman. Say for Eg, SCARR and SFLIGHT.

    Anyone has any clue, how to achieve this ? cl_salv_tree also doesnu2019t seems to helpu2026
    As per my understanding, we could pass only 1 single structure to a tree output.
    For eg, all lines of the tree output should be of the same structure. (please correct me if I am wrong )..
    But In my case, the fields on each level are different, and I need to pass different structures to the tree.

  • Problem in Aggregate with Multiple level of dimension

    Hi,
    I have a BI repository with a snowflake schema. I have also designed the business model with snowflake, It works with drilling and all but I am facing problem when I am
    creating  a logical column aggregating with a higher level of dimentation. Let me illustrate that :
      I have the Following Hierarchy :
    Tournament(id, Name) ---- > Round (id, name, tournament_id) -------> Match (id, Name, RoundId ) |  Match is fact table and other 2 dimension.
      I also created a logical dimension called tournament with 3 levels.
      Now say I want to create a logical column Total Number of Matches , aggregating  to the dimension level of Tournament. The result gives counts a 0 for every tournament. However
      it is working perfectly when the dimension level is Round (which is the immediate next level after fact).
      The Logical request generated (in case of Tournament level) :
       MatchId:[DAggr(Measure1.MATCHID by [ Matches$.TournamentId]  SB Tournament)] as c1 GB.
        There is no such column as TournamentId in Matches$ table. How does the BI server got this ?
       The execution plan  evaluate this:
         cast(NULL as  INTEGER )  as c1 GB [for database 0:0,1]
       Can someone please explain why is this happening, is it because of the snowflake schema, but I guess if BI server can handle a snowflake schema it should work the Aggregate
       properly in multiple levels of dimensions, or it is something I am doing wrong.
       Execution Environment:
         Windows XP ,  OBI 10g on OC4J.  Data source : MS Excel (ODBC 3.5)

    Hi,
    With reference to your question.
    Can any operator perform this task..I don't think any single operator will help you.
    I suggest using an intermediate (staging) table by using a PL SQL procedure with output port to store the values of account number provided the number of accounts are limited. Else use an array variable for account of an employee.
    In short no simple solution because of the bad source design else the pivot/unpivot operator would have helped you.

  • Multiple levels in a mobile game

    Hi
    Im a little confused on multiple levels in a j2me game with respects to re-initialising the level, once level 1 is complete.
    How, and what would be the best code practise, once level1=true(complete) to load level 2. Where do i actually send my code back too, to start the next level. Do i do some kind of garbage collection/reset, then simply load all the graphics in for level 2?.
    Also, some games feature levels like in an RPG, where each room is loaded when the character reaches the exit - how is this being called from the j2me code?
    Thanks
    Steve

    Would you be able to explain it to me?  Here is a picture of what i'm trying to do..
    When 'player_mc' touches' hitbox_mc', the movieclip 'bat_mc' plays once and erases itself.
    And for the level change its the same concept... Player touches box and gets sent to second frame on timeline which is t he next level...
    Been trying to figure this out all weekend and just turned to pros for help now..

    / works fine
    create type SPECIES_ARRAY as VARRAY(20) of SPECIES;
    -- error comes here.. Can not have multiple level..type error
    and so can not go ahead. In fect I wanted to use next level also. like this.

    the problem is for multiple level ARRAY AND RECORD/object combination..

    I think multi-level collections was first implemented in 9.2. You failed to mention what version of the DB you are using.

  • The issue with using the multiple columns sub-query in WHERE clause

    Hi All,
    my database version is 10.2.
    the problem i am trying to deal with is that when I use multiple column sub-query in the WHERE clause of the SELECT statement, the actual row number returned from the sub-query is different from the whole statement.
    And what I found is that, whenever there is NULL in any of those columns returned from the SUB-QUERY, the outer query will just return NULL for that whole row.
    Here is an example:
    select empno, ename, job, mgr, hiredate, sal, deptno from EMP
    intersect
    select empno, ename, job,  mgr, hiredate, sal, deptno from t;
    7782     CLARK     MANAGER     7839     09-JUN-81     2450     10
    7839     KING     PRESIDENT  NULL  17-NOV-81     5000     10
    7934     MILLER     CLERK     7782     23-JAN-82     1300     10
    select * from EMP where (EMPNO, ENAME, job, MGR, HIREDATE, SAL, DEPTNO) in (
    select empno, ename, job, mgr, hiredate, sal, deptno from EMP
    intersect
    select empno, ename, job,  mgr, hiredate, sal, deptno from t);
    7782     CLARK     MANAGER     7839     09-JUN-81     2450          10
    7934     MILLER     CLERK     7782     23-JAN-82     1300          10     If I specifically deal with the NULL situations for the columns which might return NULL, I can get the result right.
    select * from EMP where (EMPNO, ENAME, job, NVL(MGR,-1), HIREDATE, SAL, DEPTNO) in (
    select empno, ename, job, nvl(mgr,-1), hiredate, sal, deptno from EMP
    intersect
    select empno, ename, job,  nvl(mgr,-1), hiredate, sal, deptno from t);
    7782     CLARK     MANAGER     7839     09-JUN-81     2450          10
    7839     KING     PRESIDENT  null   17-NOV-81     5000          10
    7934     MILLER     CLERK     7782     23-JAN-82     1300          10     the problem is that, I feel this is a very lame way of handling it.
    So, I wonder or am asking if there is any better or standard way to do it?
    any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    As you discovered, INTERSECT treats NULL as a value, but IN does not.
    What you did with NVL is one way to handle the situation. If there was a chance that any of the columns could be NULL, then you might prefer something like this:
    select      *
    from      EMP
    where      ( EMPNO      || '~' ||
           ENAME      || '~' ||
           job           || '~' ||
           MGR           || '~' ||
           TO_CHAR (HIREDATE, 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS')
                    || '~' ||
           SAL           || '~' ||
           DEPTNO
         ) in (
              select  EMPNO      || '~' ||
                     ENAME      || '~' ||
                   job     || '~' ||
                   MGR     || '~' ||
                   TO_CHAR (HIREDATE, 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS')
                        || '~' ||
                   SAL      || '~' ||
                   DEPTNO
              from     emp
             intersect
              select  EMPNO      || '~' ||
                     ENAME      || '~' ||
                   job     || '~' ||
                   MGR     || '~' ||
                   TO_CHAR (HIREDATE, 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS')
                        || '~' ||
                   SAL      || '~' ||
                   DEPTNO
              from      t
             );This assumes that you can identify some string (I used '~') that never occurs in the strings in these tables.
    This is implicitly converting the NUMBERs. That's usually not a good thing to do. but explicitly converting them would make this even more tedious.
    You should explicitly convert any DATEs to strings, however. Depending on your default format, and your data, you might get away with implicit conversions even for DATEs, but don't bet on it.
    If you had to do this often, you might consider writing a user-defined function:
    delimited_string (empno, ename, job, mgr, hiredate, sal, deptno) would return a string like
    '7839~KING~PRESIDENT~~17-NOV-1981~5000~10'
    This will make the coding easier, but beware: it will make the execution slower.

    I am creating a report in OBIEE, which needs to be bursted.

    i mean, 10 dept PDF , 7 position PDF and X manager PDF.

  • Why doesn't the back button have a dropdown to jump back multiple levels in Firefox 4? Is there an option to re-enable that?

    Before I upgraded to Firefox 4, the back button (as it is in every other browser under the sun,) had a dropdown so you could skip one tier of going back and drop back multiple levels. This is especially important when there is a site redirecting you and you can't rewind past it with single Back clicks. However, FF4 doesn't have this -- at least not by default -- and I don't see it anywhere in the options to add it. Is it hiding somewhere I haven't found, or was that removed?

    You have to either click and hold the back button or right click to access the drop down selection.

  • Loading  facts at multiple levels

    Hi
    I have a cube with six dimensions. For one of those six dimensions I get data at all levels so what I want to do is load data at all levels and choose no aggregation for that particular dimension. I need levels in that dimension because I have other cubes in same AW for which I get only leaf level data for all dimensions. How can I load data at all levels for a given dimension?
    olap version: 11.2.0.3
    Thanks
    Dileep.

    In AWM you should be able to drag the dimension key column from the fact table to multiple levels of the hierarchy.
    At the XML level you should see elements in the cube map like this:
    <CubeDimensionalityMap
      Name="MY_DIM"
      Dimensionality="MY_DIM"
      MappedDimension="MY_DIM.MY_HIER.LEAF_LEVEL"
      Expression="MY_FACT.MY_DIM_COLUMN">
    </CubeDimensionalityMap>The MappedDimension attribute instructs the server to load data at the LEAF_LEVEL only. To get it to load at all levels you can simply delete the MappedDimension line and recreate the cube. If you then look in the AWM mapping screen you should see MY_FACT.MY_DIM_COLUMN mapped to all levels within MY_DIM.MY_HIER.
    There are a few cases where this will not work, so be warned! Here are some that I can think of.
    (1) If you have an MV on the cube
    (2) You are partitioning by the dimension
    (3) The expression for the CubeDimensionalityMap comes from the dimension table.
    Case (3) sometimes happens because users map to a dimension table column instead of to a fact table column wwhen they are different sides of the table join. For example if the table join condition is "MY_FACT.MY_DIM_COLUMN = MY_DIM_TABLE.KEY_COLUMN" then some people map to the expression MY_DIM_TABLE.KEY_COLUMN instead of to MY_FACT.MY_DIM_COLUMN. If this is true, then you can just change the expression to point to the fact column. A legitimate case of (3) happens where the fact table contains data at a lower level (e.g. DAY) than what is loaded into the AW (e.g. MONTH). A solution there is to create a VIEW that does the correct join and then map the cube to the VIEW.

  • Pie chart multiple levels

    Hello,
    I'm looking for software to create pie charts with multiple levels. I tried Numbers but it didn't work out. Does anyone has tips for Numbers or other software that I can use? Thanks in advance.
    Greetings,

    I also don't have many experiences in this kind of thing. However, I recently happened to read something about WinForms chart UI control which include the pie chart creating function. Not sure that kind of thing would be helpful or not.

  • Multiple Levels in Hierarchy using MDX in SSAS

    Hi All,
    I am Hiren Parikh from India.
    I have a requirement in which I want multiple levels in a single hierarchy.
    But this levels should not depend on each other.
    For eg -
    + Country
    -India
    - China
    - Japan
    + State
    - X
    - Y
    - Z
    + City
    - Mumbai
    - Beijing
    - Tokyo etc
    I will not select Country, State & City at the same time. If I select the Country then Country will become my filter.
    If I select the State then State will become my filter.
    If I select the City then City will become my filter. This means all the 3 levels are independent should work.
    Thanks in advance...
    Regards,
    Hiren Parikh
    Hiren Parikh

    Hi Hiren,
    According to your description, you will not select Country, State & City at the same time, right?
    So as per my understanding, you needn't to create the hierarchy, just create three attributes Country, State and City. Then when you select one of the attributes in the PowerPivot table, the attribute can be the filter which you can see on the screenshot
    below.
