Multiple MiniSAP systems on one machine, with remote access

Hi,
I'd like to ask if it is possible to install multiple versions of MiniSAP (6.10, 6.20, 2004, 2004s) on the same machine? An important requirement would be to be able to access all these systems remotely.
Maybe the best option would be to install these onto different virtual machines which can be run at the same time. In this case how should I set up the router for remote access? Also, how can I define the SAPGui entries on my laptop to access these systems?
Many thanks,
Tamá

If you are using DHCP (in most cases yes), after setting up virtual machine you will get another IP adress for that virtual machine, so that you are able to connect to this machine and of course connect to SAP system running there. You don't need to do any settings on router.
In SAPGui you will create as many entries as you have SAP systems.

  • Have multiple iTunes libraries on one machine?

    Hi,
I want to have multiple iTunes libraries on one machine (with two different hard drives, internal fore mp3s and external for AAC files). One library is composed of mp3s for an iPod, I want the other library to have AAC audio files for burning CDs. I would rather the libraries not be mixed.
I have read the article (#301748) for migrating an iTunes library and am preparing to migrate one of the libraries on to a external hard drive.
I have read about using Libra to maintain two different libraries on one machine. I was wondering if anyone does this and if they have encountered any problems? Is there a better solution?
    Thank you,
    TPK

It's one thing to want two music libraries on one machine and another to want two music libraries on one user account. For the latter, here's what I've done.
I created folders in my iTunes folder called, say, Main Library Folder and Second Library Folder. (These could be anywhere you find convenient.) I dragged my regular iTunes Library file into the Main Library Folder. Then I opened iTunes and created my second music library. When I finished that, I closed iTunes and dragged the just-created iTunes Library file into the Second Library Folder.
If I want to use my main iTunes library, before opening iTunes I drag an alias (Cmmd-Option-drag) of the iTunes Library file from the Main Library Folder into the iTunes folder. Then, when I open iTunes, iTunes reads my main library file. And of course, it works the same way for the second library.
Of course, you could just shuffle the actual library files into position in the iTunes folder from their holding areas, but I strongly preferred to get myself into the habit of relying on aliases, so I could leave the actual library file alone in their respective folders. You most definitely would not want to accidentally overwrite one of your iTunes Library files.
I'm sure one of the shareware products would do a more elegant job, but this just shows you that it's not a difficult process.
The alternative is to set up separate user accounts to access different libraries on the same machine. This has real benefits and, to me, should be the first option one considers. It's easier on the brain, as it sticks to iTunes' one-user-one-library model, and there's absolutely no risk of getting libraries confused. Fast User Switching on the Mac makes going back and forth between accounts easy. But if you really want to avoid using different accounts, and it's only you that has to keep things straight, the approach of jumping back and forth between different libraries in the same user account should be OK.

  • Multiple SAP Systems In One MSCS Cluster

We have installed a NW 7.0 EHP abap stack in a MSCS Cluster with 2 nodes.
This was installed as a standard Cluster Install.
We have now higlighted a requirement to install a 2nd (Java ) instance in this Cluster Group.
The NW 7.0 EHP1 documentation and Note 1321854 shows that multiple SAP systems in one  MSCS cluster is supported.
The documentation, however, is not clear if the 2nd instance can be installed when the 1st instance was installed without the preperations for Multiple Systems.
There are no further documentation or guidelines to help.
Has anyone come across this situation or managed to install 2 SAP instances in one Cluster Group based on Windows 2003, SQL Server 2005.
    Regards

I am not quite sure if I understood your problem completley. But let's see...
Usually you use on on MSCS Cluster Group per SAP instance. So you have your already existing NW 7.0 ABAP stack in a separated Cluster Group, and you create a new Cluster Group for your new Java system.
You can find more information about it in this guide here on SDN:
    Link: [High Availability;
More information about High Availability Setups for SAP System can be found here on SDN:
    Link: [High Availability]
If you want to use the same database for your clustered ABAP stack and your new Java stack you can do a MCOD installation.
Please see Link: [SAP Note 388866 - Multiple Components on One Database - Installation|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/388866]
    Hope this helps.

  • Creating multiple http servers on one machine

I created multiple http servers on one machine.
I did this in the following way:
Created a http service as nt service with the following command:
    apache -i -n Testservice -f d:\oracle\isuites\apache\apache\conf\httpd2.conf.
When I start the service, I always get an error:
Didn't return an error. Cannot start service.
    Can someone help me.
I need two httpd services as nt service. Because, I want to use oracle fail safe. So I need a service.
Alternative : I can create batch files. But I want to start these batch files as nt service. Is there a possibility on
Windows nt to do this, or an available tool.
    Thanks in advance,

If you want to have multiplie servers in the same machine and you want to cluster them then you need ip for each instance.
If you want multiple instances without clustering, then you can have them run on the same ip but each one should have a different port.

If you are accessing the ejb/services on the same server using a servlet. You can get the context, simply using the default getInitialContext(). This should return the context to the local machine. This shoudnt require any ip information.

  • Multiple 8800GT's in one machine

    Hi,
I'm building a machine which will act as a server for image processing. It will use openGL offscreen rendering to answer clients requests.
I was wondering if it is possible to put multiple 8800GT's in one machine to get performance boost?
I know Macs don't support SLI, but I was thinking that if my image processing modules run in 2 instances I could potentially server two clients with no performance loss.
    Can anyone help out here?
    Thanx
    Yaron

No, the Management Console has one WebService page. You would need to install the Management Console a second time for that.

  • Entire environment on one machine with zones

I've been pondering some of what zones can do, and it occurred to me that one could build an entire reasonably secure environment using one machine with multiple zones...
    * Global zone with no network ports active, console only
    * One zone for firewall, heavily ipf'd - mapped to external and internal network ports
    * One zone for webserver - mapped to internal network port
    * One zone for fileserver - mapped to internal network port
    * Other zones as needed - probably all mapped to internal network ports
    * All zones secured with ipf to allow very little access, particularly from firewall zone
It seems like this would allow a very flexible environment, and would give the security of having multiple boxes.
    Thoughts/Comments?

Thoughts/Comments? You are definately on the right track. If I haven't said it before, I will say it now - All services that can be, should be run in a zone. That means web servers, DNS servers, LDAP, file servers, etc. Between zones and least privilege (you are using least privilege aren't you), you can create a very secure and contained service environment.
Imagine the surprise of a script kiddie when by pure luck they compromise your zone, but sadly they can't install their favorite rootkit because /dev/kmem, /usr, /devices, etc. are completely off limits no matter how much they scream about having UID 0. Remember, this is even more secure than having multiple boxes; this is like having multiple boxes where root ain't root. The best part is that zones are cheap. You can create them at will without performance impact, and can limit resource usage via a number of different means.
There is a new paradigm in town and it's name is Zones. Use zones and use them often. This is a no lose proposition.
    Happy zoning.

  • Connecting to Multiple ECC systems via one Gateway system(Dynamic System Selection)

    Hi Experts,
We have multiple ECC systems and one Gateway server. We want to connect to these different ECC systems using one GW system.
I have created System Aliases for these ECC system in GW system. For a service, i added 2 system aliases.
Now we are looking for the solution where UI can provide the system alias (it wants to connect) as a parameter while calling oData Service.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Rohit

    Hi Rohit,
we have a similar scenario where we have two system aliases for one service. Both aliases point to the same system, but different clients; it should not make a difference though, having different systems. The feature you are looking for is Multiple Origin Composition (MOC).
There are a couple of things you have to consider:
in the SEGW the entity to be called has to be marked as addressable
the URI of the service needs to include the tag for MOC (;mo) --> http://sapgw.domain.org:8000/sap/opu/odata/sap/ZSOME_SERVICE;mo/entityset
Without the ;mo the call will be routed to your default alias. The ;mo will route the call to both systems. Using MOC will generate an additional key property into your entities --> SAP__ORIGIN. The property is the alias. If you want to route to a specific system you have to provide the SAP__ORIGIN like providing normal key properties in your requests.
    This will look like this:
    <content type="application/xml">
      <m:properties xmlns:m="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices/metadata" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices">
        <d:SAP__Origin>SOME_ALIAS</d:SAP__Origin>
        <d:Identifier>SOME_IDENTIFIER</d:Identifier>
        <d:Doublet />
      </m:properties>
    </content>
The original Entity only consists of the key property "Identifier" and the property "Doublet". "SAP__ORIGN" is added via the ;mo.
    Hope it helped...

  • Burn multiple imovie projects to one dvd with menu

How do i burn multiple Imovie projects to one dvd with roxio toast 10? Can i add all of the projects or do i need to export them as a quicktime movie first or something?

You can share the first movie from iMovie, but all the others will need to be exported from iMovie as movies and dragged into the iMovie project.

  • How to configure Time Capsule etc as a local network server with remote access server and for backups

I'm trying to set up new 3TB Time Capsule as a wireless network server (with remote access) and for backups for use in a small office (of two Macs). We have a late 2011 Intel MBP and a brand new MBA both running 10.8.3. We have two external 1TB hard drives that until now have been attached the MBP for storage and backing up that computer, which up until now was the only machine in use. The MBA is for a new employee and we need to share and work on the same files, both here in the office and ideally remotely too via Back to my Mac. The MBP needs constant access. The MBA only occasional. The TC has 7.6.3 firmware and we've set it up using AirPort Utility 6.2. It is currently attached to the MBP via ethernet and it has internet access via a Sagemcom router attached to TC's WAN port.
We've managed to set up a wireless network and both have wireless internet access through the TC
But there are so many issues I don't know where to begin - so I'll start with a description of what we're trying to achieve:
I planned to use the TC as the main server drive and place all the key folders and files there so that both of us can access them wirelessly and remotely. The MBP would back up to the TC and to one or two of the external hard drives - one being attached to the Mac via USB and the other being attached to the TC's USB port. We would back up the important data on the TC using SuperDuper and copy it to both external USB drives.
So , first of all, is that a sensible configuration? Should the 'server' be the one of the external hard drives attached to the TC USB port, backed up regularly to the TC using SuperDuper?

But when you say 'So using USB drive does make sense if you want to use it as a file store', do you mean a USB drive plugged into the TC? I hope that I can attach an external drive to the TC so we can all access and read/write the content wirelessly via the TC network or remotely.
Yes, USB.. as it prevents the sparsebundle mixing with data files. I guess it does depend on how much data you are talking about.. you can use the TC internal disk if you are careful and setup the sparsebundle with fixed sizes once you create them..
And to be clear, I wasn't planning on backing up remotely via BTMM - only to access the shared folders on the TC data drive or USB external drive attached to it. I'm assuming that's ok?
Yes, that is fine. Sorry I got the impression you were going to do backup over internet.
What is the alternative? Having a Mac Mini that's always on? Do I need OS X Server etc.?
A mini would be great.. you don't need server edition.. but I would see how the TC goes.. since you have it and it is much lower power consumption device. It is just that its design is not really for file storage.
One big problem I have is to do with the sharing permissions. For everything on the TC or attached external drive attached to it, it says I have only custom access and every time I try to change permissions it says I don't have the permission to do that. And if I try to change the owner it says my user name is not valid.
How is the security setup on the TC?
The security is a bit tricky.. I must admit since I run windows computer in the network, that I simply turn on the guest account to read and write access. For a business setup that might not be adequate  but it allows me full access to all the files.
If you setup the TC with user accounts then you are in trouble. That makes it very difficult to access, especially if one person already has the file open you may find a second user cannot login. I am not sure as I have avoided the security. IMHO it is meaningless.. since anyone with physical access to the TC can press the reset for one second and has full access.. and can add or change passwords.

  • VM with remote access VPN without split tunneling

    Hello experts,
I have customers who require to use VM in their laptop. These users also require to VPN to Corporate network  to do their job. However when they do remote VPN to corporate Network (ASA VPN concentrator) from their VM host machine, they loose their access to their VM guest machines. This problem was not happening when they used cisco VPN client which has gone end of life and support as of end of July 31, 2012. In Cisco VPN client (IKEV1) if we set the protocol to udp they had no problem to keep their connectivity to VM machines while connected to corporate with remote access VPN. However this feature does not work in new Cisco VPN client which is called AnyConnect. ( NOTE: I am using IPSEC IKEV2. NO SSL at this time).
    My Question to Experts:
    1. Was the ability to maintain connection to VM guest machines, while connected to VPN without enabling split tunneling a security flaw in the old cisco VPN client?
    2. Is there a way to maintain connectivy to VM machines installed in a computer and still connect to remote access VPN concentrator through host machine? (My question is about AnyConnect client only using IPSEC IKEV2 and I do not want to enable split tunneling)
    Thanks for your help,

  • Rsa securid with remote access dial-in service problem

    Hello,
I tried to setting rsa secured with remote access dial-in service on cisco 2600 box. Everything works well except when token in new pin or next token mode. The dial-up client can not enter second passcode, do not have second pop-up window, so all authentications was fail. My dial-up client is windows 2000 or xp.
    Please suggest me too.
    Thanks,
    Nitass

While I agree with you that the terminal window solution is more complex and less user friendly than the standard Windows DialUp window/authentication, the terminal window does provide a solution to the new pin or next token issue which the standard Windows does not.
I work with a customer who uses RSA token to authenticate dial in users. We have found the solution to the issue you are dealing with to be either the terminal window where the user can deal with their problem or to have someone take administrative action on the RSA server to reset/resync the users token.
So as I see it you have a choice to make: either present terminal window as an alternative setup on the user PC or when they can not login on dial up have them call the Help Desk and have someone deal with it for them. One solution is somewhat less user friendly but does allow the user to deal with their own problem, and the other solution is more user firendly and puts more load on the Network Support staff.
I would also wonder why you have so many users in new pin and next token mode? Perhaps if you can figure how to minimize the frequency of these modes you can minimize the problem of difficulty authenticating for your users.

  • Sharing iTunes on one machine with multiple users... problems...

Hi, I've recently done a fresh installation of XP, and have downloaded iTunes 7.1
    It's set up as follows:
    1 machine, 3 users:
Administrator(Admin account) ; Me (limited) ; My partner (limited).
I have set up the itunes folder in the shared documents as suggested in the apple KB article about multiple users on one machine.
As administrator, I imported a CD and it's artwork from the store.
Pointed all three users to the folder in the shared documents - exactly as per the KB article.
I went into my everyday account, and pointed itunes to the itunes folder in the shared documents.
it didn't see the tracks. I had to use the add folder to library in the file menu in order to get itunes to see it.
is this just something that has to be accepted, or is there a way of making the folder 'live' so that i don't need to keep updating my library manually? - almost like a refresh?..

Unfortunaely iTunes doesn't monitor for new files, so if you import a CD in one account, it will have to be added to the libraries of the other accounts manually - if the users want it.
I guess this is both good and bad as it means that each account can have its own music choices while at the same time sharing a common pool of music files.

  • Possible to connect multiple R3/Systems to one XI?

    Hi,
is it possible to connect mutiple R3-Systems to one XI?
    How does it work?
    Regards
    Stefan

    Stefan,
You can certainly connect multiple R/3 systems to one XI.
    1. If your R/3 system release is 4.7 then use point 8 from the configuration guide. (RZ70 transaction collects the system data and creates a technical system in the SLD)
    2. If your R/3 system release is < 4.7 (means 46c or 46B, 40B) then you should create a technical system in the SLD.
    3. For any other SAP product with ABAP stack (including R/3 47 system), you should check the SAP_BASIS release if it is 6.20 you should apply XI Add-on to use XI Proxy adapter. For SAP_BASIS < 620 you cannot have XI Proxy adapter. For SAP_BASIS > 6.20 you do not need any add-ons (from this point onwards it is NetWeaver)
To find SAP_BASIS release -> SPAM Transaction -> Click on Package Level.
Then create a business systems for each one of them and import them into the Int. Directory when needed.
    Regards
    Shravan
