Multiple parameters with pipeline input?

Hello,
The answer to this may just be that this is not a case for using pipeline input..
I have a function that takes two parameters, one is an object (the result of a third party web services call) and the second parameter is a string. To simply explain what the function does you can think of the object parameter like a table definition and
the string parameter like the name of one of the fields... you supply the table and a fieldname and the function returns the 'ID' of that fieldname... I have this written as a normal function right now but I'm wondering if it's possible to change it to accept
pipeline input... the other function I've designed as 'advanced functions' that take pipeline input typically only have one parameter.
how would I do this with my case? two params, one an object and one a simple type (string)?
1. I know I *could* make it take one object input param, and bundle that web service returned object and the other string value into a custom object and do property name binding... however that feels to me like forcing something that should not be.. I think
I would put that in the 'not a case for pipeline input' bucket... but I'm unsure.
2. how could I pass these two parameters pipeline style, without doing the one custom input object approach?
I can see it for one set of them, like:
$objectParam, $stringParam | MyFunction
but how would I specify multiple sets of those two params?
$objectParam1, $stringParam1, $objectParam2, $stringParam2 | MyFunction
each iteration within the PROCESS block would work on a pair of params at a time...
maybe I'm just thinking about this all wrong... which is why I'm posting.. maybe this just is not where I should be doing pipeline input?
any input would be appreciated, thanks

  • Multiple Channels with Firewire Input

    I posted this in the podcasting forum, and it occurred to me I might have better luck getting a response here. Apologies if you've seen this one before! I quote:
    I have a feeling this is a stupid question, but I'd hate to go without asking, so... I'm using a Behringer Eurorack UB1202 with a Behringer F-Control firewire interface to record a podcast with 3 (sometimes 4) microphones. Is there a way I could use that setup to split the audio onto 3 (or four) separate tracks? I'm assuming the answer is "no," since it ultimately dumps into one firewire input and therefore (I guess) one signal. I imagine I might be able to split off left and right channels, yes? But with 3 mics, that would put one on one track and two on another? (I'm using an iBook, by the way, so I've only got one firewire port to work with...)
    Thanks for any advice!
    Quicksilver G4 | G3 iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    ..just because all the signals go
    into my computer through one cord, that doesn't
    necessarily mean that they can't be divided
    out again, with the right equipment?
    Yes exactly right. They make firewire audio devices that accept multiple analog inputs and have many analog outputs and it keeps it all straight.
    Firewire is MANY times faster than a digital audio stream so the data can be "multiplexed". In other words, it only takes a few microseconds to send a few milliseconds of audio data so it sends some data from each channel, one channel at a time and then maybe some data to/from the disk(s) all on the same cable. Same goes for USB and Ethernet. Kind of like a hiway - every car does not need it's own road.
    Figure that audio sampled at 96K is about 2MB/Sec and firewire can handle 400MB/sec Even 16 audio channels is only 32MB/Sec, well within Firewire's ability (but maybe your disk drive could not handle that rate?)

  • Offset compensation on multiple modules with different input limits

    I want to acquire different value voltage signals from SCXI 1122 modules. I can this signals group in two ranges, and connect them to different modules, but I can have signals differing 1:100 on a single module as well. How can I do the offset compensation for each channel and each module?

    Hi James,
    May be this is not the optimal choice the HW but an existing one. I shall coock with existing species. The Labview manual states, that in such cases the LV chooses the highes possible gain in the SCXI module, and then applies different gains to different channels on the DAQ board. But I suppose, the offset of the full signal path depends not only on the gain of the SCXI module, so it means, for all gains I would need separate offset value. Principally I can supply an array of offset values to the Scaling constant tuner VI, but these constants is determined on a channel named ....calgnd. In this case the Acquire and average VI accepts only the first member of the input limits array, and I get only one offset for this limits. Is it enough for all
    different gains of the DAQ?

  • Problem while Binding multiple Parameters to View Object[Solved]

    Hello,
    I am facing problem while binding multiple parameters with different data types in View Object query. For example suppose I have following query in my view object.
    SELECT Header.ADDED_BY
    Header.BATCH_ID,
    FROM BATCH_HEADER Header
    WHERE :1='deptAdmin' and Header.BATCH_ID
    in
    select batch_id from batch_header_dept_mapping where dept_id in(SELECT * FROM TABLE(CAST(:0 AS TABLE_OF_VARCHAR)))
    I am able to pass the Bind variables of Array type for : 0 , using Steve's ArrayOfStringDomain example. (ArrayOfStringDomain) .
    But after passing value to second bind parameter ie.. :1 .
    I am getting the error as follows.
    ## Detail 0 ##
    java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected - got CHAR.
    I tried to set
    setWhereClauseParam(1,11); // 11 is Number
    setWhereClauseParam(0,arr); // arr is arr = new Array(descriptor,conn,deptid); for in parameter.
    But of no use , Please let me know if any thing missing form me or have any another solutions. Also please provide me any example if have.

    hi.
    but when using non-Oracle named parameter binding styles as you've done (ie. , :1), regardless of what number you give each bind variable, they are sequenced 0, 1, 2 etc. As such your bind variable :1 is the 0th parameter, and your bind variable  is the 1st parameter.Your statment is correct.
    :1 i used was actually on 0th position and :0 was on 1 position. Like you said in sequence 0,1,2 etc. Now i get the answer and i corrected My mistake by assigning right values to right binding variable. and problem just solve.
    Thanks Chris.

  • Query parameters with the same name and different values

    According to HTTP, multiple query or post parameters with the
    same name and different values are permitted. They are transfered
    over the wire in the following format -
    name1=val1&name1=val2&name1=val3
    The problem is that I can't see anyway of assigning multiple
    parameters with the same name and different values to the request
    object of mx.rpc.http.HTTPService. I have tried using the
    flash.utils.Dictionary object as it does strict key comparison but
    that doesn't work too. I have tried setting an array of values to a
    property of the request object but that sends the request to the
    server in the following format -
    name1=val1,val2,val3
    The java servlet engines throw exceptions when they see this.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    If you're not on 8.1.4 move there. 8.1.3 had limitations in the wsrp

  • Pass multiple values as single input parameter into pipelined function

    Hi all,
    My need is to pass multiple values as single input parameter into pipelined function.
    For example - "2" and "3" are values of input parameter "t":
    with data as (
    select 1 as t from dual union all
    select 2 as t from dual union all
    select 3 as t from dual union all
    select 4 as t from dual union all

  • Hierarchy on HANA Calculation View with Optional Input Parameters Fails

    Hi,
    Has anyone succeeded in building a hierarchy on top of a calculation view with optional input parameters, where an input parameter is not filled?
    The original requirement came from the wish to create a parent child hierarchy on a calculation view that was copied into the customer space from a HANA Live Financial Statement query view, but I have found the following when creating a simple level hierarchy on a calculation view that consumes one table. The Calculation View has one Input Parameter where the 'mandatory' box is unchecked.
    Calculation view reads ECC table FAGLFLEXT
    Simple level based hierarchy on fields PRCTR, RACCT and SEGMENT
    Input parameter is used as a filter for PRCTR with logic ("EMPTY" = '$$P_PROFITCTR$$' or "PRCTR" = '$$P_PROFITCTR$$')
    When I run the view I see the following behaviour in HANA Studio and Analysis for Excel
    Before building the hierarchy I could run the view with or without the Input Parameter
    After building the hierarchy I can run the view with the Input Parameter filled, but it fails when the Input Parameter is not filled.
    Error message is "error: search table error:  [2426] missing placeholder; missing value for mandatory parameter P_PROFITCTR"
    P_PROFITCTR is not a mandatory parameter, but the selection for the hierarchy view thinks it should be. I don't find any notes around this issue, so I don't think it's version related, however the version I have used for this test is 1.00.70.
    It's a shame we can't currently build the hierarchy as the parent child relationship is provided in HANA Live view NewGLFinancialStatementQuery.
    Thanks,
    Ken

    Hi Ken,
    We have been facing similar issue. We have even tried to set default value and as optional parameter. View still fails to create hierarchy (we are not using HANA live). As mentioned on page 97 of HANA modelling guide input parameter is mandatory from engine point of view. Hierarchy is generated as column view during the initial activation of calculation view and therefore expect a value by caller.
    This seems to be a product error. Some one from HANA development team should explain this issue in detail. I would expect someone like Thomas Jung reply to us.
    At the moment, we cant use input parameter for date prompt which gives us calendar popup feature for date selection. Hierarchies just don't work with input parameter. We are missing something.

  • How to call stored procedure with multiple parameters in an HTML expression

    Hi, Guys:
    Can you show me an example to call stored procedure with multiple parameters in an HTML expression? I need to rewrite a procedure to display multiple pictures of one person stored in database by clicking button.
    The orginal HTML expression is :
    <img src="#OWNER#.dl_sor_image?p_offender_id=#OFFENDER_ID#" width="75" height="75">which calls a procedure as:
    procedure dl_sor_image (p_offender_id IN NUMBER)now I rewrite it as:
    PROCEDURE Sor_Display_Current_Image(p_n_Offender_id IN NUMBER, p_n_image_Count in number)could anyone tell me the format for the html expression to pass multiple parameters?
    Thanks a lot.
    Sam

    Hi:
    Thanks for your help! Your question is what I am trying hard now. Current procedure can only display one picture per person, however, I am supposed to write a new procedure which displays multiple pictures for one person. When user click a button on report, APEX should call this procedure and returns next picture of the same person. The table is SOR_image. However, I rewrite the HTML expression as follows to test to display the second image.
    <img src="#OWNER#.Sor_Display_Current_Image?p_n_Offender_id=#OFFENDER_ID#&p_n_image_Count=2" width="75" height="75"> The procedure code is complied OK as follows:
    create or replace
    PROCEDURE Sor_Display_Current_Image(p_n_Offender_id IN NUMBER, p_n_image_Count in number) AS
        v_mime_type VARCHAR2(48);
        v_length NUMBER;
        v_name VARCHAR2(2000);
        v_image BLOB;
        v_counter number:=0;
        cursor cur_All_Images_of_Offender is
          SELECT 'IMAGE/JPEG' mime_type, dbms_lob.getlength(image) as image_length, image
          FROM sor_image
          WHERE offender_id = p_n_Offender_id;
        rec_Image_of_Offender cur_All_Images_of_Offender%ROWTYPE;
    BEGIN
        open cur_All_Images_of_Offender;
        loop
          fetch cur_All_Images_of_Offender into rec_Image_of_Offender;
          v_counter:=v_counter+1;
          if (v_counter=p_n_image_Count) then
            owa_util.mime_header(nvl(rec_Image_of_Offender.mime_type, 'application/octet'), FALSE);
            htp.p('Content-length: '||rec_Image_of_Offender.image_length);
            owa_util.http_header_close;
            wpg_docload.download_file (rec_Image_of_Offender.image);
          end if;
          exit when ((cur_All_Images_of_Offender%NOTFOUND) or (v_counter>=p_n_image_Count));
        end loop;
        close cur_All_Images_of_Offender;
    END Sor_Display_Current_Image; The procedure just open a cursor to fetch the images belong to the same person, and use wpg_docload.download_file function to display the image specified. But it never works. It is strange because even I use exactly same code as before but change procedure name, Oracle APEX cannot display an image. Is this due to anything such as make file configuration in APEX?
    Thanks

  • Passing multiple URL parameters with same name

    Hi,
    I have a question which is not entirely related to Java. But although its related HTTP calls, so I thought I might get some ideas here.
    Background:
    I am making HTTP URL call from SAP ABAP code. Its pretty much similar to Java (creating URL connection, setting HTTP headers, connecting, receiving response and everything)
    For example,
    http://service_server:8080/a7/extension.services.SearchRequirements.a7x?RequestStatus=CR&RequestStatus=RR
    Now, this service_server runs a query to database where it uses both these values of "RequestStatus" to form 'OR' condition for a field.
    Issue:
    When I run this URL from browser, it shows XML response containing results for both values. In short, this is the ideal response.
    (I am using getParameterValues(string) at service_server to read multiple values for same parameter)
    But when I see response in SAP system, I see that it is returning data for only one value of 'RequestStatus'.
    I checked the logs of service_server, and I see that it has received only one parameter, not two.
    Question:
    It seems like SAP systems web server is truncating both parameters with same name and passing just one of them to outside server(??)
    Is there any configuration at Web Server side or any HTTP headers to be set so as to avoid this?
    Can anybody suggest something on this?

    I managed to resolve this issue by using HTTP 'Post' method to send the data.

    Hi,
    I see you are not clearing your local structure "ls_query".  This could be reason of problem,  try this and let us know the result:
    DATA lt_query                  TYPE mdm_query_table.
    DATA ls_query                 TYPE mdm_query.
    DATA lv_search_text       TYPE string.
    DATA lt_result_set            TYPE mdm_search_result_table.
    DATA ls_result_set           LIKE LINE OF lt_result_set.
    Fill query structure with FIRST parameter
        ls_query-parameter_code  = 'Name'.
        ls_query-operator        = 'CS'.
        ls_query-dimension_type  = mdmif_search_dim_field.
        ls_query-constraint_type = mdmif_search_constr_text.
        lv_search_text = 'BMW'.
        GET REFERENCE OF lv_search_text INTO ls_query-value_low.
        APPEND ls_query TO lt_query.
    CLEAR ls_query.
    Fill query structure with SECOND parameter
        ls_query-parameter_code  = 'Model'.
        ls_query-operator        = 'CS'.
        ls_query-dimension_type  = mdmif_search_dim_field.

        APPEND ls_query TO lt_query.
    CLEAR ls_query.

  • Web service URL with multiple parameters

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to make use of a web service that takes multiple parameters without the use of a proxy (we're using NW 7/7.1 and  proxies aren't supported -  i.e. i'm getting the same thing as described here: Proxy object to consume web service)
    So instead I'm trying to follow a method similar to what is done [here|http://sample-code-abap.blogspot.com/2009/05/simple-code-consume-web-service-using.html]
    When I put the web service url into a browser and click on the operation it comes up with
    http://portLocation/company/webservice.asmx?op=operation
    and comes up with the sample SOAP request and response as normal.
    Now with most web services with one parameter, the url translates to something like: http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx/GetCitiesByCountry?CountryName=australia
    Which works fine.
    However, the web service i'm using has 4 parameters and when I try and translate my url to be like this (http://portLocation/Company/WebService.asmx/Operation?parameter1=XX&parameter2=XX&parameter3=XX&parameter4=XX) I get, "The page cannot be displayed"
    Can anyone suggest a way that I might be able to get around this or what I'm doing wrong.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    are you sure that your Operation is valid? So for example in your [example|http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx] there are just two operations: [GetCitiesByCountry|http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx/GetCitiesByCountry] and [GetWeather|http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx/GetWeather]. You are right about passing multiple parameters. You need to put ? after valid URL and then pairs <name>=<value> separated by &. Don't forget that you need to encode <name> and <value> to avoid problems.
    Cheers

  • Bi publisher report issues with selecting multiple parameters.

    Hi there I have a Bi publisher report when I query it for a single parameter it works fine and gives me the result.
    But when I select multiple parameters Lets say I have selected 3 parameters and try to view the results it does nt give me a proper report. It leaves me some blanks and gives me negative values.
    The report is working finr for one parameter In order to select two parameters I added the following code in the sql query
    and ( coalesce(null, :JOB_ID) is null
    or c.JOB_ID in (:JOB_ID)) .
    Can some one please let me know if this is correct or should I have to add anything else in the query.
    Even if I hard code it by saying JOB ID IN ('x','y','Z') and try to run the report it is not giving me exact values.
    BUt when I run the same query in database am getting correct values..
    Can anyone help me with this issue please??
    Thanks

    1. What version of BIP are you using?
    2. Can you please paste here your complete SQL data model?
    3. Can you get us an example how this will work?
    4. Can you be more specific about the error you get and the output?
    thanks

  • Building Contextual Events with multiple parameters

    I am working in JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 and trying to build a contextual event, but ran into a issue that I find unclear. When building the Subscribers on my page definition, in the Property Inspector, how do I define multiple parameters in the customPayLoad element? In all the examples I've found, they reference putting ${payLoad} as the value and they only show one parameter. I need each value to be unique for each parameter. How do I accomplish this?

    for this you can use attributes
    say suppose if you are using table then you can pass values from producer like
                Map attributes = table.getAttributes();
                attributes.put("param1", param1);
                attributes.put("param2", param2);
                attributes.put("param3", param3);
                attributes.put("param4", param4);and consume it like
        public void handleBusinessChkListEvent(Object payload) {
            SelectionEvent selectionEvent = (SelectionEvent)payload;
            UIComponent component = (UIComponent)selectionEvent.getSource();
            String param1=
                (String)component.getAttributes().get("param1");
            String param2= (String)component.getAttributes().get("param2");
            Boolean param3=
                (Boolean)component.getAttributes().get("param3");
            String param4=
                (String)component.getAttributes().get("param4");
    }

  • Running the same code multiple times with different paramters automatically

    Hi guys,
    I want to run the same code multiple times with different paramters automatically. Actually, I am doing some sample scans which takes around 2 hours n then I have to be there to change the paramters and run it again. Mostly I do use folowing paramters only
    X_Intial, X_Final, X-StepSize
    Y_Intial, Y_Final, Y-StepSize
       Thanks,
    Dushyant

    All you have to di is put all of the parameters for each run into a cluster array. Surround your main program with a for loop and wire the cluster array through the for loop. A for loop will autoindex an input array so inside the for loop you just have to unbundle the cluster to get the parameters for each run.
