Multiple Project XML files

Can I have multiple deployment project XML files(which makes descriptor file cleaner and easily maintainable)? If yes, how to specify each file name in Sessions.xml and can I use different datasources for different project XML files or it has to use the same datasource for the entire project? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Rafi.

Not in the sessions.xml, but it is possible to merge two projects together at runtime...

  • Multiple library.xml files normal?

I just made 2 iTunes libraries, both located in the Music folder on my internal HD. One is just called "iTunes" which gets backed up with time machine, and the other is called "iTunes For Backup", which I use for temporary music projects etc that I exclude from backup to save space.
The one called "iTunes For Backup" has an "iTunes Library.xml" file as normal, but the "iTunes" folder has both an "iTunes Library.xml" file AND an "iTunes Music Library.xml" file.
After playing around, I discovered that if I start from scratch and create a new library called "iTunes", initially it will create just the "iTunes Library.xml" file, but as soon as I've added songs and quit, it creates a second file called "iTunes Music Library.xml". If I create a new iTunes library and name it anything other than "iTunes", only an "iTunes Library.xml" is ever created, which I think is normal behaviour.
To be honest I don't even know if this is a problem, but I've never seen multiple Library.xml files inside the same iTunes folder before. And why it would have anything to do with what you name the library seems baffling. It strikes me as very odd behaviour so I thought I would throw it out there out of curiousity to see if this is normal. I'd hate to find out it's a problem after I've built a huge library.

I'm wondering the exact same thing.
I'm able to find a lot of resources on the itunes library.xml file, but hardly anything on the itunes music library.xml file…
I'm also lost as to how I import my playlists back into iTunes. I keep my music on an internal 'Media' partition and am pretty well versed with OSX, but can't seem to figure it out… All the problems relate back to both of these XML files. Importing one will import some of the playlists, but not all… Weird

  • Splitting multiple IDoc XML files into single IDoc messages for R/3

Hi all. I have a problem splitting IDoc XML files coming in to XI. I currently have an interface that takes in single store sale IDoc transactions (type WPUBON01) in an IDoc XML file. I then have some complex graphical mapping on the IDoc before sending to R/3 via the IDoc adapter. This works fine. However, we now wish to include multiple sales in one file i.e. many WPUBON01 IDocs. I could use message splitting to do this BUT the mapping is so complex, I do not wish to have to change it to enable the processing of many IDocs in one file instead of just one.
What I want to do: have one mapping splitting a multiple IDoc XML file into single IDoc messages and then another taking these single messages as before and performing the mapping. I cannot find a way to do this in one interface; the main problem I'm having is getting XI to split the multiple IDocs into many single IDoc messages within XI itself. I'd be very grateful for any advice on the best way to do this.
    Thankyou.

    Bhavesh,
Thanks again for a clear explanation... I'm moving forwards but still struggling. I've been on this all afternoon today (after a break on other things) and just cannot get my message to split properly (though the SOAP adapter problem I had earlier is now fixed!). If my initial IDoc XML file contains this format:
    <WPUBON01><IDOC>....</IDOC>
                          <IDOC>....</IDOC>
                          <IDOC>....</IDOC></WPUBON01>
.. I'm not sure what the cardinaility on the first message mapping and interface mapping should be. I'd have thought the source interface would be 1 and the target would be 0..unbounded but this isn't working. I'm trying different things but I get different errors each time. Currently, I have the above cardinality in my first interface and I'm passing in the following data:

In the message monitor, I get a chequered flag. Great. However, I get the dreaded error 500 in the SOAP receiver comm channel:
SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/HTTP/ADAPTER.HTTP_EXCEPTION - HTTP 500 Internal Server Error
Exception caught by adapter framework: SOAP Error
Delivery of the message to the application using connection AFW failed, due to: SOAP Error.
Any ideas as to what this might be?! I'm getting there.... if I get a solution out of this, I promise to write the blog myself!

  • Multiple persistence.xml files

I've got a situation where I have one persistence.xml file with many persistence-unit's. My problem is that during deployment not all of the persistence-units are useable, so I get errors. My question is can I use multiple persistence.xml files in an application if each persistence.xml file defined only one persistence-unit?
    Mark

While JPA supports multiple persistence units in a single persistence.xml most of the tooling options (Eclipse, JDeveloper) focus on supporting a single persistence unit. Using multiple persistence.xml files on different classpath roots should also work. I recall seeing a bug related to this in the EclipseLink queue. Is this the JPA implementation you are using?

  • How to specify descriptor properties in a projects xml file

    Hi,
I am trying to read some properties for a descriptor using the method descriptor.getProperty(String).I need to be able to set the properties for the descriptor in the Projects XML file. How can I do that?
I tried doing this the other way round.I used XMLProjectWriter to write out my Project to an xml file after I set the properties for the descriptor. The XMLProjectWriter does not seem to write out the properties. What do I do?
    Thanks,
    Harini

If you need to modify only a select few descriptors you may want to consider the 'After Load' option in the Mapping Workbench.
If you need to modify lots of descriptors you may want to consider SessionEventAdapter -> preLogin.
    public void preLogin(SessionEvent evt) {
    for (Iterator it=evt.getSession().getProject().getDescriptors().values().iterator(); it.hasNext(); ) {
    Descriptor d=(Descriptor)it.next();

  • Multiple iTunes XML Files?

Hello everyone. I have a problem. I want to move my iTunes library over to my external hard drive. DO NOT post a link on how to do this. I have read all of them. The problem is that I have multiple iTunes XML files. Not just one. I don't know what to do. Can i delete them? Can i combine them or something???

It is difficult to understand your question as the the number of xml files does not seem to be related to your question. If you have a complex question then you need to explain it fully with your current iTunes set up.
The simple answer assuming a default iTunes set up is.
    1. Ensure all your music is in the iTunes Music folder in the iTunes folder. Consolidate if it is not.
    2. With iTunes closed, Copy the iTunes folder to the external drive.
    3. Hold down the shift key (Windows) and start iTunes, keep holding the shift key until you are prompted to choose a library. Naviagte to the iTunes folder on the external drive and choose iTunes Library.itl.
If you ever start iTunes with the drive disconnected it will default back to the internal drive and you have to do another shift key start to connect to the external drive.

  • Multiple log4j.xml files for single application.

    Hi All,
How to use multiple log4j.xml files for single application?
I do have a pluggable application modules. ie, If I add a jar I will get some functionalities. Like that i do have many jars.
Log4j.xml also will be present in that jar only. So if I add multiple jar files like this, I will get multiple log4j.xml files. What should I do?

Each logger can have its own file I think. Check the log4j documentation.

  • Non-blocking parsing of multiple xml files

    Hi there,
I'm trying to parse multiple huge XML files concurrently for a query system over multiple xml streaming systems.
For each huge xml file, I read them into the memory gradually (the new data would cover the old data in the buffer if the buffer is full). Two questions here:
    1. Do I have to set up a socket and write the buffered data to the socket in order to simuate that the parser can parse infinitely? It sounds not good to use socket across two threads just for the "infinite" nature.
    2. I want to simulate concurrently parsing multiple streams. A straightforward way is to have each parser sit in a thread. Is there any otherway that I can put all parsers in one thread and alternately call them? This requires that each individual parser could parse whatever they have seen so far rather and resume when they are called again.
I'm curiously awaiting for your answers.
    thanks a lot,
    hong

just taking a guess: create your own reader by extending java.io.Reader ; and let this reader taking care of fetching the data that the parser will use.

  • Getting data from multiple XML Files

Could any one please shed some light about the best way to
read multiple external xml files through Flex? We haveabout 100
different xml files (of which only few are randomly accessed by the

I tried implementing the following generic function which
takes a filename but when debugging it, it seems that the handler
never gets call after executing the service.send() line! I will
    greatly appreciate your help!!!

    service.useProxy = false;

Try adding a fault handler and seeing if that fires. Also,
    since you're
using HTTPService instead of URLLoader, be aware that this
    probably won't
ever work from your development environment unless you've
    either changed the
output directory to go to the server or you've changed some
    compiler flags
to allow you to get local and network access at the same
    time. This is why
I always use URLLoader to load in XML files at a relative
    path...it just
works, without my needing to change anything.

  • Query multiple XML files

    Hi,
Is there another way of making queries in multiple different XML files other than using XQuery?
I use CremeVM for a CDC but it doesn't have desiredAssertionStatus() method in its Class.class so XQuery doesn't work.
Another option to solve it will be to execute multiple XPath expressions but not a good solution I think.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks Curt,
just for others....  My Function for reading XML:-
let XmlImportedFile = (FilePath, FileName) =>
    let

    ImportedXML = Xml.Tables(File)
    in

    in

then it's use to combine into a custom Column:-
    let

  • Mutiple mapping XML files for one datasource

One of our projects raised the following question. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
"Can we have mutiple ToplinkMappings.xml files for one database? The reason we are looking at it is, our toplinkMappings.xml file size is keep growing in size(right now 2.2MB), we are getting into issues while comparing with the previous versions. The PVCS diff tool and beyond compare tools are not able to interpret the corresponding blocks of code on both the versions properly."
    Haiwei

    Hi Haiwei,
Yes, you can have multiple deployment.xml files in a session. Take a look at Configuring Multiple Mapping Projects.

  • Processing the multiple sender xml one by one in a time gap to RFC

    Dear Experts,
I have to process the multiple sender xml file one by one from FTP to RFC in time gap.
    For Ex:
I will place 10 xml file in a FTP path at a  time, PI is picking 10 file at a time and process it to RFC at a time.
Any other way to process the multiple file one by one through PI in a time gap to RFC
(i,e) PI needs to process the 10 files one by one, once the first file processed successfully from FTP to RFC then the next file to process in a time gap to avoid getting the error in RFC.
Kindly suggest your ideas or share some links how to process this multiple files.
    Best Regards,
    Monikandan.

    Hi Monikandan,
You can use CE BPM with PI 7.1 But first check the suggestion of Anupam in the below thread:
reading file sequentially from FTP using SAP PI file adapter

  • How can i use the project code instead of project xml?

    hello
i use the sessionbean+toplink structure, after i finish the o-r mapping by using the mapping work bench,i generate the project xml file, then in the "session.xml" file,i refer to the project xml, then i can use it from sessionbean.
i hear that if i use the project code instead of project xml file,it will be more performant,is that true?
otherwise, how can i use the project code instead of project xml file?i mean, in "session.xml", i can use the "<project-xml>" tag to refer to the project xml file, then in my session bean,i get the server session by read the "session.xml" file.but if i use the project code, how can i refer it from the "session.xml"?the examples that come with the toplink installation only tell me how can i use the project xml file within the session bean,it don't give me any clue about using the project code in the sesion bean, who can give me a step-by-step instruction and code snippet?
    thank you very much?

There is a slight performance gain during session load at startup but there is no difference at runtime. The choice of which to use is dependent upon you build process. Whether it is easier to submit a new version of the class into the comile build process vs an XML file. In most cases it is just a preference of the development team.
When you use the project-class you'll need to generate the source code and compile it into your system. Typically it is packaged with the persistent classes. You may need to configure your environment so that the class-loaders have access to these classes (same for the XML case).
When using the project-class you simply replace the project-xml entry like this:
    <project-class>oracle.toplink.demos.employee.relational.EmployeeProject</project-class>
The DTD for the session.xml file is found at <TOPLINK_HOME>\core\sessions_4_5.dtd. It is also in the documentation at:
    http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ias/doc_library/90200doc_otn/toplink.903/b10064/a-sessio.htm#634246

  • Crosstab with multiple rowset xml content

I have multiple rowsets (xml files) which I want to calculate subtotals from.  Each xml data set has identical columns.  If I union all the files together, the xml content contains multiple rowsets and the Crosstab function does not give me a summed value of each column, but instead it creates a column for each column in each rowset.
The Normalize and the rowset combiner transform both combine rowsets by appending the second dataset into new columns, is there any way to append the data into new rows instead?
Because my final file is going to have something over 30,000 rows (14Mb), I am reluctant to use a repeater on each row of each file to combine it into a new rowset.  Is there an efficient way to handle this calculation?

    Sue,
I believe that we are off on the wrong foot here...all things aside...
Join will work for your scenario when combined with other actions for your calculation and it will be easier to maintain than a stylesheet which will be beneficial to you in the end.  Please do not be too quick to judge the solution
As for the error message that's one for support, what was the error in the logs?

  • How can i generate session.xml file?

    hello
i am a beginner of toplink,i find that in my project,i must provide two xml format files, they are "session.xml" and a project xml file,to make the toplink works well, the project descriptor can be generated by using the mapping workbench, but how can i generate the "session.xml",now, what i can do is to modify the sample file that come with the toplink installation,i wonder if there is a graphic tool that can be used to generate it?
    thanks for any helps!

Currently there is no UI support for creating or modifying sessions.xml. The DTD is provided in both the documentation as well as in the installed files (<TOPLINK_HOME>\core\sessions_4_5.dtd). The examples should also contain a variety of sessions.xml file to assist you.
