Multiple Records from Drop-down

I need a little guidance.
I am constructing a form which will contain Contact information. The form itself has information for a singular contact but the idea is to support information for multiple contacts by selecting another contact in a drop-down and then showing information for that selected contact.
The user can also add a new Contact. For each new Contact, the user will add the contact and fill-out the form. The form itself as displayed is information for a singular contact.
The new Contact name will also populate as a new selection in a drop-down for selection at the top of the form. This will allow the user to switch between contacts and see their respective information.
At this point, I have all objects in the form set for 1 Contact.
I think I can handle the code to add a new Contact to the drop-down.
My question is: In order to handle "n" Contacts, do I have to duplicate all of the objects in the original form for each new Contact.
Or ...can I use the existing form objects as data holder (sort of a template) for display only and hold the multiple Contact information in some other way.
Since I am a database developer at heart, the latter seems like a more logical approach but I don't think LiveCycle Designer (in Client runtime) supports an internal database. I may be wrong or other options may exist.
Can anyone offer a preferred direction - methodology?

You are going to need a means of holding all of the contacts. You are correct in stating that there is no internal database, so I woudl recommend using an xml data file for this. When you load the form you can import the data file and the dropdown will populate with the contact names. Then when the user chooses a contact the other info will populate with taht specifc contact's information. Other alternatives woudl be to use an external database and use web services or ODBC to communicate with the DB. Although this sounds locical note that Reader does not support these types of connections out of the box. To accomplish this you woudl require a product called LiveCycle Reader Extensions server. If you are using Acrobat then this is not required. If you use ODBC then a DSN woudl hav eto be setup on each users machine so there is a maintenance cost involved (usually not an issue for a small number of users). Let us know which way you think is best and we can pursue from that.

Create a node with cardinality 0-n and selection property set to 0-n
Create a table UI element and bind this node as a datasource to this table.
Set the selection mode property of this table as auto or multi
Once this is done, populate the node with some data elements.
When you run the application, you will be able to select multiple rows from the table.
To get the selected rows, use below code on the action of some button

Can't choose multiple items from drop down menu...

Been trying to hold down Control button while clicking, thought that worked before. Did I disable something unintentionally?

The Control key works like that on MS Windows. On the Mac, it brings up the contextual menu when clicking, i.e. it simulates a right-click. That works with both single button and multiple button mice.
You want to use Command (the apple key) for selecting more than one item, such as items 2, 7, and 5 from a list. You can also use Shift when you want everything in between so you don't have to click on each one, like items 3-8 in a list.
This works when selecting items in the Finder or selecting items from a list that allows you to select more than one item, such as Mail or perhaps choices on a web page.
Not all lists will allow you select more than one item since sometimes you are suppose to select only one.

How can I hide position and org unti id from drop-down list at the top of detail tab, see picture below:

I'm not sure you're going to be able to change this. I think (but I'm afraid I don't know for sure) the section is defined by \WEB-INF\uitemaplates\com\nakisa\manager\omg\ui\subucs\sectionDesigners\DetailHistoryButtonSectionSubUC.xhtml, which after a quick search through the application looks as though it might be populated by a NakisaTrollBin.jar ... which isn't really something you should be looking to edit.
Nakisa do often write in various settings that can allow features to be tweaked and enabled/disabled. It could be that there's something you could add into SettingsResources to apply the change you require, but you would need to contact Nakisa about this as they don't document all of these options.
All this being said I would query why this is being done. It is not uncommon to say have multiple positions with the same name - e.g. HR Administrator might exist in several org units. If you are looking through several identically named org units or positions, the unique identifier is going to be the object's ID. As such it seems most logical to me to keep the ID in the history to allow a user to discern the difference between identically named positions/org units.

Try Mail>Preferences>Accounts icon>Account Information tab>Click on the Outgoing SMTP server drop down, choose edit Server list, highlight the old one & click Remove.
(Such convolution is worthy of Windows® in my estimation)

How to select multiple records from a TREE in the table

I have a tree structure which is in the table.When I open the node of the tree,all the subnodes are coming as one-one records in the table.I want to slect multiple record from this table.I applied onLeadSelect for this table,I can select only 1 record from the table.
Can any one plz suggest me how to select multiple records from the table so that I can get all the data of those selected record.

Is there any other way in which we can access tables other than using BAPIs or RFCs?
In my case, there is a table structure which has to be updated with values after validating a key. i don't think there is any RFC available now. do i need to create bapi/rfc for that?

You can get the value of selected from drop down as below
Check out the event handler method attached to Onselect event of the ui element drop down by index , if no event is associated, then create an event and attach to the drop down list
Now you will be having the CONTEXT_ELEMENT in the WDEVENT parameter
               data lo_element type ref to if_wd_context_element.
               lo_element = wdevent->get_context_element( name = 'CONTEXT_ELEMENT').
Now, you can get the static attribute value of selected drop down value & let us say your drop down list values are populated from context node 'ND_DRP_DOWN'
               data ls_data type wd_this->element_nd_drp_down.
                         lo_element->get_static_attributes(
                                   importing
                                   static_attributes = ls_data ).

Creating multiple records from 1 record in the source file for Import DM

Hi Experts,
Today I am working on an interface/import where I want to get the following result:
Source file contains a records like:
Account, Entity, DriverX
Sales,EntityA,ZZ
The BPC appset contains the 2 dimensions Account and Entity next to CostCenter dimension. The DriverX field in the source file is just additional information in the source file. However based on this DriverX we need to determine what CostCenter to choose but we also need to have the same record assigned to a second record in BPC.
Following my example, based on DriverX value I need to create 2 records:
Account, Entity, CostCenter,
Sales,EntityA,CC1
Sales,EntityA,CC2
I don't have a problem assigning the record to 1 CostCenter based on DriverX value but I have a problem creating my second record. Does any of you have had the same "challenge" and if so would you like to share the solution for this?

Many thanks for your answer. And yes this would be a solution. However I just simplified my case as the decision to create an second record and where to post is depending on more than 1 field in the source.
But I will keep it in mind, because I also can opt for a solution to store data differently in BPC fac-tabels which will help me to use script logic.
If it is not possible to create multiple records from a single records in the standard functionality in the Transformation and/or Conversion file, I have to create a custom DTSX or change my way of storing data.
Anyone else who is having an alternative idea like Greg came up with?

Hi Dhanush,
You need to change the occurance of idoc to 0 to unbounded ie need to opt idoc packaging.
Just download the xsd of you idoc to the desktop and change the occurance tag as "<xsd:element name="IDOC" type="COND_A.COND_A02" maxOccurs="unbounded" />" and then reimport it into External definition and use it in your message mapping and then map it with you source structure.

Mobile Me Alias not showing up in "From" drop down list in Mac Mail

I have a couple of older .mac/Mobile Me email aliases that used to show up as either [email protected] or [email protected] in Mac Mail in the From drop down list, as recently as yesterday. Today, all I can see for any alias that has both the .mac and @me options due to their age, is the @mac.com version. I want to use the @me version of the alias, but this option no longer shows in the list. Newer Mobile Me aliases only have the @me.com address and they show up fine. One last point. If I use the Mobile Me web mail app, I can see both the @mac.com and the @me.com choices in the From drop down list, so it's working as it should.
Mail isn't working correctly, but since I've not updated the Mail app recently, I suspect Mobile Me isn't sending both versions of the aliases over when the list is refreshed.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

It started about a week ago. The "From" drop-dow is now missing in Mac Mail. It should appear beneath the subject line. I was working with MobileMe Chat support for about 3 hours. They cannot solve the problem and have now escalated it to the "Senior Advisor Team."

Best would be to move all bookmarks in the Unsorted Bookmarks folder to a folder in the Bookmark Menu folder or the Bookmarks Toolbar.
That would only leave you with the menu entry.
Clicking the star in the location bar will bookmark the page in the "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder and the star turns yellow (blue on Mac) to show that.<br />
Click the highlighted star a second time to open the "Edit This Bookmark" pop-up and move the bookmark to another folder or edit the name.

Allow multiple records from this table to be displayed in the form is greyed out.

I'm trying to add a second table to my main data source in an InfoPath 2010 form (database template), but the option to allow multiple records from this table to be displayed in the form is greyed out and I can't select it.
Can someone please tell me how to correct this? I'm guessing that there might have to be something change in MS SQL because on other occasions I've have not encountered this problem when adding a second table.

So I've found a work around, but I still don't know why I'm having the problem in the first place.
I've been trying to relate the two tables by using the primary key in the parent table to a view of the child table that also includes primary key in the parent, e.g. the ORDER ID in the order table relating to the ORDER ID in the view of the order detail
table. For whatever reason whenever I did that InfoPath prohibited the data source from returning multiple order details.
My work around is to use views of both the order table and order details table that include the customer ID and to relate the two table in InfoPath using the customer ID. Now I get a data source that allows multiple order detail records. In order to get
just the order details that I want that relate to a particular order, I use a rule that sets the order id in both the order and order details query data sets before executing the query (as opposed to just the order data set).

Do things in the following order:
Make the playlist you are going to burn, and open it.
Have the blank CD-R handy.
Use the command File > Burn Playlist to Disc.
When it asks you to insert a blank disc, do so.
