Multiple shipments in one big shipment

Hello Experts,
just wanted to know is it possible to have one parent shipment having numerous child shipments(containing n no of delieveries) as the scenario we have for ollective delievries in one delievery.
As i am bit suspected about the same but if not possible than why is there is a tab of Shipment+ in vt02n??

Ofcourse it is possible to add shipment in shipment.
This process is called transportation chain.
Read carefully in the link which you have given it very well explains that.
Suppose there are various modes of transport for sending goods to one place to another.
For ex Plant to Port by Truck ( Priliminary Leg)
dep. Port to dest. port by ship (Main Leg)
then again Port to Customer by Truck ( Subsequent Leg)
Note: Priliminary, Main or Subsequent leg is defined in shipment type config. in Leg indicator field.
Lets assume each step is carried out by different Forwarding agent or Document required at each stage could be different.
So it makes sense in ceating three different shipments and adding them in one master shipment. This simplifies the tracking of entire shipment process and one single cost document can also be created for Master shipment.
And I think there can be n number of shipment within shipment.
As per requirement shipment type can be configured.

Combining multiple HDs into one big 'un

So I see where one can make multiple libraries and one can have multiple devices, multiple accounts etc etc... but here's my question. I have an external HD that is holding all my media and is running out of room... Is it possible to "daisy chain" some drives together (i.e. LaCie d2 Quadras, both at 320 GB) and have iTunes read this as one 640 GB drive? In essence so that when I open iTunes and proceed to play content, I don't have to switch out to get it to shuffle music around... I'll prolly end up buying a TB drive but I wanted to ask some of the more enlightened folk on the boards... 'preciate any info!

If you go into the iTunes preferences, you can set the location of the iTunes library. What isn't immediately apparent to most people is that this setting only sets the location of FUTURE additions to your library. Anything already in the library will remain where it is and continue to be accessed from that location.
So to answer your question, you can add an additional drive, point iTunes to a location on the new drive, and everything already in your library will stay on your current external drive. Anything new will be added to the new drive.
Once you get your BIG drive that can hold everything, you can change the location to that drive. NOW use the consolidate command which will then copy everything NOT in the current iTunes library location to that location. In other words, anything stored outside the currently set iTunes folder location will then be copied in there and the library updated to reflect the new location.
You can not delete the stuff off the other drives if you wish.

If you "Get Info" on the tracks that are part of your collection, you can use the Compilation option in iTunes.
In iTunes 8 and later, you find the option to mark multiple items as "Part of a compilation" in the Options tab of the Multiple Item Information window.

Making multiple tracks from one big track

I've got a CD that has 7 songs on it, but only shows as 1 long track (54:06) when I try to import it. I'd like to edit it so it imports/plays as 7 songs and not 1. I've figured out how to mark/edit the first song, but that's all. How can I reimport the original song so that I can do the other 6 tracks? I've looked at a lot similiar postings, but there were no answers. Apparently this is a problem a lot of people are having. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

As i mentioned earlier, by selecting to convert the original song it is just making a copy of the song, and you do not have to have the CD to do so. Just select the song you want to duplicate and then select convert to...(whatever file format you want).

Multiple shipments into one shipment

Dear Experts,
we have the requirement to combine several shipments into one shipment.
Example:
Delivery1 is packed in the shipment1 into a paperboard.
Delivery2 is packed in the shipment2 into a box.
Now I want to create shipment3, where I can place the paperboard and box on a pallet.
So this means that I want to pack the handling units, which were created in the shipment document,
in further shipment.
Is it possible with standard modules LES and HUM?

first of all thanks for your prombt answers.
I know that is possible to bundle several deliveries, which are packed in HUs (Delivery HUs) already,
to HU (Shipment HU_1) in one shipment document.
In the next step I want to create new shipment document and in that a new HU (HU_2), in which I can pack HU_1.

Dear All,
Please let me know the pre requisite configuration to add multiple Shipment documents in to another shipment document.
The requirement is in a full truck load there will multiple customer dispatches. For each customer dispatch a shipment will be created. all individual shipments will be added in to another shipment document (a master shipment document)
The costing is done at the master shipment document.
I request you to provide the needful information.

Hi,
You can add more shipments in VT01N/VT02N screens (Shipments (CTRLF7)) but that will only display multiple shipment documents for mass processing etc. It will not create any 'parent-child' (or master-individual) shipment relations.
What you can do is simply to create 2 shipments for each delivery document. One being a container for warehousing needs and another one a 'master shipment' for payment purposes.
Note however that shipment documents will not be directly linked. Those will be only referenced to the same delivery document.

Data File below - shows report has the proper tags for the PP_NUMBER; which should split the job into individula files to be email, instead it creates one large file and emails it to the last email account

Multiple cost documents for single shipment document

Hi All,
My recuirement is as follows. (this is for Cement industry implementation)
1) In a shipment document i wil inculde mustiple deliveries for which a single route wil be deterimined and only one stage is used. For Ex. I include 10 deliveries say dly no. 1 to 10. now when my vendor sends bills for the services rendered. ill be making payment only for the deliveries which vendor sends the bill. say vendor sent bills for dly nos. 1,2,4 7, 8 and 10.
so my query here is when i created a single shipment document for all the 10 deliveries, i would like to make the payment for the selected deliveries only. is this is possible ? if yes please what all the possibilities ?
2) same as point 1. but when the routes are different.
please explain on the both the scenarios.

As you aware that,
Shipment cost created to capture the freight involved in that consignment. Once consignment is finished then vendor issues bill to the client. vendor bill doesnt reflect to the shipment cost, where when you save the shipment cost document service entry sheet will be generated which is used in vendor invoice verification, but not the shipment cost document.
if client wants to charge the frieght calculated in shipment cost document in Customer invoice, you have to create shipment cost document ,before your vendor issues any invoice to the client.
Coming to your requirement,
maintain shipment cost relevance @ item level, noting but you will be calculating freight at each delivery level. while creating condition record, all the deliveries will be copied in shipment cost document at item level, here you delete whatever the deliveries you dont want to capture the freight in VI01 & save it. one service entry sheet will be generated for only listed deliveries & do the invoice verification to settle the amount to the vendor.
now, try to create one more shipment cost document wrt: shipment doc, but only for the remaining deliveries. Hope you can create because shipment document has not yet been completed.

Combine multiple purchases from one buyer

Hi, everyone. I have a buyer who has purchased and paid for 2 items separately (about an hour apart). I am looking to combine the 2 items into one package and print only one shipping label, instead of shipping the items separately. I remember reading elsewhere on the boards that if you selected the items in Selling Manager and select "Print Shipping Labels" from the drop-down menu, it would recognize the items were to the same buyer and combine them. I have tried this multiple times and it still just wants to create a separate label for each item.I already plan on making a trip to the post office tomorrow so if it's not possible to do online then it's not a big deal, but I'm just wondering if there is a way to combine two (or more) shipments into one for the purpose of creating one shipping label. I'm not aware of any way to combine them automatically once they have been paid for but then I've never tried to do that either. All you do is package them together, weigh etc. and fill in the info for the label. If it is going out of the country, manually add the information for the second item on the customs part of the form. Manually mark the second one as shipped and if there is a tracking number, manually add that too.

How to delete Multiple Artists in one action?

Hi,
I want to do a big clean up on an iTunes library with over 4000 albums.
How can I delete multiple Artists in one action?
It looks like I can only delete 1 Artist at a time, and then this action shoots me to the top of the list. Which is a pain then having to scroll back down through such a huge list to then delete the others one at a time... each time being shot back to the top of the list.
For example I have the following artists;
The Alarm 01 – 1 song
The Alarm 02 – 1 song
The Alarm 03 – 1 song
The Alarm 04 – 1 song
The Alarm 05 – 1 song
The Alarm 06 – 1 song
And I want to delete them all in 1 action.
Can this be done? How best to do it?

You can't delete "artists" - just songs (or songs grouped into albums). When iTunes displays the library or a playlist in Artists view it is doing so using the metadata values set in the relevant songs. If you're looking at this view:
then your selections in the left pane - the artists list - is filtering what you see on the right. When you select Delete via the keyboard or via a right-click operation, you are initiating an operation to delete the songs by that artist. To delete songs by more than one artist in a single operation you'll need to select and delete in Albums view:

You really don't enter identical data into 2 tables. You enter dat into one single table, and then you have an unique identifier that maps to another table (you have a unique relationship between two tables).

Think about it this way... What is you update data in 2 tables, and then the data in one of those tables changes, but the data in the other table does NOT change. WHOOPS!! Now, you've got a BIG problem. For instance, you have a customer
named Bill Gates. In one Table you update Bill's address to 1835 73rd Ave NE, Medina, WA 98039 and in the other table you accidentally update Bill's address to 183 73rd Ave NE, Medina, WA 98039. Now you have 2 addresses for Bill. Why would
you want that??? Which is right? No one knows. If you have one address, you just have to update one address and if there is a mistake, you just have to update one address, but you don't have to waste time trying to figure out which is right
and which is wong...and then update the one that is wrong.

Large form set: Deliver in portfolio, or build one big PDF?

Greetings, all--
I am using LiveCycle to recreate a set of 24 or so forms that were originally built in Word. My users download the forms, complete them on their desktops, then print and submit the forms in hard copy. Most users are not tech savvy. The forms must be very easy for them to access, open, navigate, and print. Most also function within severe hardware limitations (slow Internet connections, old machines, etc.). On my end, I have a rusty at best command of scripting and am new to LiveCycle. I know what I want my forms to do but am very slow at figuring out how to make those things happen.
I am working first to decide on how to deliver these forms. It looks like I will have to build one big PDF to get the form behavior I want (autopopulation of like fields, field calculation, etc.). Does that sound right? Or is it possible to set up each file as a separate PDF and package them in a portfolio and still get cross-file behavior like auto field population, sequential page numbering, etc.?
Any feedback on setting up big set of files would be much appreciated.

For what it is worth...
First of all consider what version of Acrobat/Reader the user population will have. Improved functionality comes with each new version. So you might end up including features in your form that won't work on the users' PC. In LC Designer 8.2 you are able to define the target version (in File/Form Properties/Defaults) and then check in the Warnings tab to make sure that the form will run OK in that version (eg no warnings);
If people don't have to save the form (or the data that they have typed in) then you don't have to worry about Reader Enabling the form. This gives the ability to users with Reader to save that (Reader Enabled) form. Useful if they are filling in the same form regurarly.
The implementation of Portfolios in version 9 is very good. However if users have older versions of Acrobat/Reader then it will revert to the previous implementation of Packages (less graphical) and users will get warning messages.
Keeping the forms separate will help performance; but may make it more difficult for users to locate the correct form. Creating one large form in LC is possible (and will make it very easy to share values across the 24 forms becuase they will be in the one XFA PDF); however if each form has multiple pages and there is dynamic hide/visible script then performance may be a problem. If the form is static (eg does not grow) then performance will not be as badly affected with the single form approach.
There is a work around to get forms to talk to each other (whether in a portfolio or not), but it requires a good bit of scripting and a cool head.
In summary, if you are working with static forms that will not grow (fields not extending to accomodate overflowing text) then I would go with one form.
You can always develop the single form for the time being and then at a later stage break it out into 24 separate forms.

Many small purchases, or one big one?

Hello, I'm actually really new to the credit world and just got two cards, a Chase Freedom and a Discover IT for Students. I want to get started building my credit and increasing my credit limit. I realize it's a slow process, (and maybe getting two cards at once wasn't the best idea) but I want to make sure I don't needlessly slow down this process.
My main question is, are many small purchases in a month better than just one big one, or does it even matter?For Example…
Chase Freedom CL: $1200
Discover IT CL: $1000I was hoping to use these cards to make payments on my tuition. If every month I only spend a $200 payment from my Discover card, is that better or worse than just buying 20 items at $10 apiece?Again though, the ultimate goal is to increase my CL and CS.

Great cards to start on. I wish I had gotten two in college. I just graduated and got my second. Like others have said, the amount of charges doesn't matter as long as you keep your overall and individual util at or under 30% which you would be doing at the charges you're describing. if need be, don't shy away from making multiple payments in a month to keep your util low while using the cards as much as you like (responsibly, and within your need/ability of course) while earning the rewards. Enjoy building. You're definitely off to a good start!
