Multiple Totals

I need to create a report that lists the totals for various transaction types as well as a total for all transactions.
totals.....all taction.....completed....pending
...............344.............222.........100 etc ......
Each total is a independent count SQL based on the transaction type, except for the first total which is a count(*) based on a specified date. I am very new to this product and have looked at multiple queries but it appears that I need to associate each query which in this case is not neccessary. Any help will be appreciated.

You can create a placeholder column in the datamodel and set its "Value if Null" property to '0'. Next create a Formula column in the same group as the rest of your columns. In this formula column, use the placeholder column to maintain a running count of you 'taction' column. You may then want to create one placeholder-formula column pair for each of those running totals.
For instance, I tried creating a report that displays emp.ename, emp.sal and running count of emp.sal. I created a placeholder column CP_1. I then created a formula column CF_1 in group G_ENAME. In the PL/SQL procedure of CF_1:

begin
:CP_1 := :CP_1 + :SAL;
return :CP_1;
end;
So CP_1 will maintain running count of Salary. You may include that in your layout as needed.

    I now have another problem with this same report.
    The report runs fine on the client (Word - Template Builder). However when I move the *.rtf template to the server and run the report the output is in a different format then when running through the template builder.
    Template Builder Version 10.1.3.4.1
    BI Publisher version on the server 10.1.3.3.1
    I can get the same output on both the server and the client when I remove the "location totals" region of the report. Seems that the location totals grouping is at the same level as another grouping (person) and the server can not handle this.
    Any suggestions?

    I've been able to do the detail split, although I did have to cheat and use a view overlying the base data. I was wondering if it is possible to calculate and display the two sets of total lines, and if so, how?

    I try to help you. The OEM Grid Control in some times not discover the Oracle 9i databases and you must to add manually.
    First, check in your target machine that the user owner of agent software have rights of read and write in the ORACLE_HOME directories of Oracle 9i databases.
    Go to Grid Control Console
    Select Targets ---> Databases
    Press Add --> Select the host ebisdb2.oneshield.com and press continue
    The automatic discover process begin. When finished is very normal that nor discover the Oracle 9i databases. You press the Add manually button
    in the page that appear you must entry all the configuration information of database:
    ORACLE_HOME directory
    DBSNMP USER

    Check that the dbsnmp user in your database is unlock and press the TEST button to verify the connection work fine.
    After this many windows appear of configuration process, and you will put the sys password and host credentials.

    Hello,
    I have to build a report with more then one total. It wil look something like this:
    country_id.............province_id............employees
    1..........................1..........................10
    ............................2 .........................15
    ........................... 3...........................5
    total country 1...................................30
    2..........................1..........................10
    ............................2..........................10
    ............................3..........................25
    total country 2...................................45
    total.................................................75
    The last total is easy, but I don't know if it's possible to make the sub totals. Is it possible in APEX or do I have to write a PL/SQL proccedure to build up the report?

    create a report out of the query:
    select     "EMP"."DEPTNO" as "DEPTNO",
         "EMP"."MGR" as "MGR",
         "EMP"."SAL" as "SAL"
    from     "EMP" "EMP"
    order by 1,2
    In Column Attributes...
    Check "Sum" checkbox.
    In "Break Formatting"
    Select either First, 1st and 2nd or 1st,2nd and 3rd columns.
    Output will have the break totals and final total.

  • Discoverer plus  report does not sum up the column

    Hi All,
    I am running the discoverer report from discoverer plus (web version) and was
    trying to use the sum function to sum the total amount of the report.
    The sum function does not work and it only display Cell
    Sum: (blank) with no actual data.
    When i checked the report details some columns are calculated based on the columns which i want to sum up.
    My query uses CASE function to calculate one of the columns.
    I changed the aggregation behavior setting to "Show the sum of the calculated values from the contributing cells "
    then also i'm not able see the totals.
    Any ideas please share with me.

    Hard to answer your question without seeing what you are trying to do. Issues like this are often better reported to Oracle support, where they can get a web sesison going and be able to see what you see on your computer. Would be helpful to illustrate exactly what your detail looks like and how you are trying to create your sum. There could be several possible issues that could cause your problem, so all I can do is speculate some. Are you trying to sum one column, or are you creating multiple totals (for multiple columns)? Do you have any rows in the column with a NULL value? NULL values will be a problem when trying to sum up a column. You would need to convert the NUll value to something else, probably a zero. That would be the first thing I would look at. Hope that helps a little bit.

  • How change the currency in trnasaction CON2?

    Hi,
    I have problem with transaction CON2.
    CO Area currency type is  20 -EUR but currency of company code is RON. In FI there is parallel currency 40 hard currency EUR.
    This configuration in FI means that depreciation is separate calculate in RON and in EUR. To calculate depreciation in EUR system take acquisition value in RON and transfer it into EUR using the currency rate from the date when fix asset was opended in the system (for example it was 2008 - so  the currency rate was completely different then now), and from that calculated acquisition value in EUR system calculate depreciation.
    Into CO system take value in RON and EUR, but remember that depreciation in EUR is calculated using historical currency rate so the value of depreciation in EUR is not correct if we compeare it with value in RON (the currency rate is from 2008).
    To calculate actual fixed rate (transaction KSII) I use settings "interate amounts independently " so the rate is calculated independently in RON from value in RON and in EUR form value in EUR, in this way I have correct rate in RON, but rate in EUR is not correct because the value of depreciation in EUR is not correct because  of historical currency rate.
    And till now is ok, I have correct total and fixed and variable part of rate in RON in transaction KSBT.
    But when I use transaction CON2 system take correctly in RON total rate in RON, and in EUR the total rate in EUR as well as the fixed and variable part of rate in EUR.
    But the fixed and variable part in RON is not correct because system calculate the percentage of fixed part  in EUR in total rate in EUR and using this percentage calculate fixed part  in RON (using this percentage to multiple total rate in RON). IN this way in CON2 I have correct total rate in RON but wrong fixed and variable part of rate in RON.
    Why? system calculate one more fixed and variable part of rate in RON form the rate in EUR and use it in transaction CON2 but not use the correct fixed and variable  part of rate in RON  which are in report KSBT? What can I do?

  • Adding Three Variables using Standard Action?

    I'm attempting to create an expression using a standard action. However I'm finding that it will only allow me to enter two variables (NOT 3) for the total.  (total 1) + (total 2) = data_targetmonthly (as shown below). I need the expression to be: (total 1) + (total 2) + (total 3) x 1.3  = data_targetmonthly.
    Please see attached. Should I be using an equation at this point instead?

    I've been pulling my hair out on this one and I've gone through the Rapid Learning blog, your site and the Lynda.com training as well as searched throughout youtube and the community forums and still can't find the answer I'm looking for.
    I have four text entry boxes in one column where the student enters in an item they'd like to have. Each item goes into its own TEB.
    EX: Ford Mustang
    In the middle column I have a cost for that item that they enter in (variables labeled as: cost_1, cost_2, cost_3, and cost_4). They manually enter it in - there are no preset values that they enter from a list on the screen or that I can have them select from a drop-down menu or anything.
    EX: $300/mo
    In the third column I calculate how much that item would cost over the course of a year.
    EX: $4680
    The Action to determine the $4680 value would be:
    COST_ITEM1: SUM_ITEM1 = COST_1 * 1.3
    Now if I stopped there with one item - EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT! But here is where I run into trouble....
    I want to follow this procedure for all four items and then create a GRAND TOTAL for the entire list using the same formula as above. But when I do so, the value always comes up as "0".
    I had created a variable called "total_1" and the following action:
    12_TOTAL: total_1 = COST_ITEM1 + COST_ITEM2
    and then created the following as well:
    34_TOTAL: total_2 = COST_ITEM3 + COST_ITEM4
    Then I created an action entitled:
    FINAL_TOTAL > YEARLYCOST: 12_TOTAL + 34_TOTAL
    This gives me the "0" total. Again. It's driving me NUTS. Can you point me to where I'm going wrong? Am I correct in lumping together the FINAL_TOTAL figure as 2 totals? I wish there was a simpler way - by adding multiple totals (more than 2) into one variable.

    It seems that the server detected an error on the
    <jsp:include ..> tag.
    Try replacing <jsp:include page='top.jsp' /> by
    <jsp:include page="top.jsp" /> I have the same problem.. and this didnt work.. I also added flush="true". It works fine on tomcat but not on NES (netscape)

  • Adding Sum Totals from Multiple Tables in A single Document

    Hello All,
    I'm having trouble adding sum totals from multiple tables I've created in a Pages 09 doc. I putting together a spreadsheet for cost projections for a house remodel. I created tables for each room of the house. At the bottom of the document I'd like to have another table that takes the totals from each individual room and adds them up. Problem appears to be that each table has the same x/y axis labels so row and column numbers/letters are repeated so the final table can't quantify thing correctly.
    Any easy solutions? I can't find anything that's helped in my search efforts.

    Thanks for the feedback. I thought that might be the case. And you were correct to assume I was more comfortable in Pages. I'm halfway through converting everything to numbers. In the end it will work great too. Just some different formatting/design choices to be made as numbers doesn't appear to be as versatile in the same way pages is with design. So far it looks pretty good though.

  • How to create a Grand Total on a Multiple Page Document

    I have created a form that is 4 pages long. I created the form in WordPerfect and then converted it to pdf. Then I opened it into Adobe Professional 8. I had it automatically converted into LiveCyle. I would like to just add the total of the four pages to a grand total on page one but whenever I use FormCalc is says it doesn't recognized page 2. Have I done something wrong or am I missing a step somewhere. In the Hierarachy area it sees the form and the four pages. For some reason it doesn't seem to recognize it as one whole form. I'm not sure what the deal is. I have now created a subtotal for each individual page and each page will total separetly. But I can not get a grand total.
    I just purchased Adobe LiveCycle Designer book by J.P. Terry. It doesn't say anything about this. AHHHH! I need some help.

    I have received some help already but I need more details - like exactly where to place the code - and - do I place the code before using "Place Multiple Fields?  Also, does the first Total1.0 field need any calculation in it or does the area under the "Calculate" tab need to be blank?
    The fields in the example below were placed using "Place Multiple Fields".  Instead of going into the Total fields one at a time and telling it to pick up the correct field names for Price and Qty for that row, I'd love a formula that was able to figure out the totals for each row.   The only thing is that when you use "Place Multiple Fields" the field names change (e.g. Price1.0, Price1.1, Price1.2, etc.)
    I really need this spelled out step by step for me, if someone has time time.

    Im a chef and my monthly inventory is a time consuming task. I get invoices from multiple suppliers on each day of the week. I enter them into a spread sheet and then need to add the sum total for all the invoices for say MONDAY. That total needs to be entered into a cell in another table  called "daily spend". Is there a formula to automatically add say all the invoices from monday and input the daily spend cell on that table. Here is an example
    I created a column B-to give each day a number(sometimes multiple invoices come from the same supplier for each day)<GREEN>..If there was a way to do this differently...Im happy to change the layout of the spreadsheet.  I want to add the total $ (column F)  for each day together(all the blue fields) and then insert the total into another cell seen in the next  table .  So in this example its F4+F16+F17=?, ? inserted into N2 of the next table

    Hi Gavin,
    Unfortunately, the scale of your illustrations in that reply made them difficult (or impossible) to read, even on the Retina screen.
    The first formula, used to fill column B, extracts the Weekday number for each date. Since these numbers should be equivalent to the day of the month, You'll need to replace this with a formula that returns the Day value of each date:
    Old:
    B2: =WEEKDAY(A,2)
    New:
    B2: =DAY(A)
    Fill down to end of column.
    Because of the arrangeent of your Data table, you will need to repeat this formula in column H (with references to column G), etc. for each set of dates in the table.
    The SUMIF formula in column F is fine as is, except that it assumes all condition data will be in column B of Data, and all data to be summed will be in column F of Data. Since this is obviously not the case for your Data table, you will need a separate iteration of the formula for each week in the table, with the four SUMIF statements enclosed in a SUM statement:
    E2: =SUM(SUMIF(Data :: $B,A2,Data :: $F),SUMIF(Data :: $H,A2,Data :: $L),SUMIF(Data :: $N,A2,Data :: $R),SUMIF(Data :: $T,A2,Data :: $X))
    Fill down for as many rows as there are days in the month being summarized.
    Column references in the formula assume that six columns are used for each week, and that there is no gap in the table between weeks.
    Note that the formula does not distinguish between transactions on July 7 and those on June 7 or August 7. Because of this, the Data table must be limited to transactions in a single calendar month.

    I have a few questions regarding dimension security and visual totals enabled.
    The infrastructure:
     - multiple roles
     - users are members of multipe roles
    1) if I have multiple roles and the user is member of multiple roles  - if I set "Visual Totals" to true on one role it does not work?
    2) same as "1" but if I set the visual totals on all roles it does not work?
    is this the intended behavior? - does it only work if the user is only in one role? or do I do something wrong?
    We want to have on two roles visual totals and on the others not - if possible. And if the users is member of other roles it would be OK if he sees all values..
    3) How would Visual Totals work if I allow some nodes but deny all children of the node?

    The Checking register's design assumes all transactions will be recorded on the single Transactions table.
    With a single Transactions table, it's relatively easy to pull a summary by month into separate Accounts Categories tables for each month and to use a separate calculation for the overall totals rather than linking the separate sums together.
    More detail about "I've made multiple months" might be useful to recommending a solution.

    Hi all, FSCM 9.0 bunlde 21/Tools 8.49.27 I set up a direct connect vendor using Roundtrip but I always have the message "No direct connect vendors available." in the Web Tab of the eProcurement>Create Requistion. Has anyone ever had this error?
