Multiple xy graph point by point

Hi,
I would like to plot multiple trace xy graphs point by point. If I plot one trace, it does show up point by point, but plotting multiple traces, they traces show up one after another and not point and point. Attached is my code. Any help would be appreciated.

That's because you use 'Replace array subset', the element you try to replace does not exist, that means the new element is not placed inside the array.
Use the following code construct instead:

  • XY graph : Plot point by point

hi my intention is to plot in a XY graph point by point. Meaning for eg: I want to plot a scatter plot.
First I check if the array element satisfies a certain condition (let's say if it lies between 1 to 5) if So I want to plot in red color, else I want to check another condition (let's say lies between 5 to 10) and then plot in blue color and so on.
First I check for the condition and link it to a case structure such that each case structure will contain the  corresponding plot color but it doesnt seem to be working.
    Kindly guide me with this.
    thanks!!

    Hi Chathuri,
If you want to plot a scatter plot, you can do this by editing the properties of the XY graph.  Righ-click on the X-Y Graph object and click on Properties. This will bring up the property viewer. If you then go to the Plots tab, you should see a screen similar to the one shown as an attachement. The fourth column from the left sets the display type and if you click the top diagram, you will display individual data points. I have circled this in the attached diagram. You will also need to set the tick markers to display.  You can do this if you set the third column from the left.

  • Front panel graph with selectable points

I don't if this can be done, but I was wondering if I can have a graph in the front panel that would graph only the points I select. This is the situation: I'm taking measurements in the program and I want to make a graph with them. The thing is that a don't want a graph with lots of points, I just want to select a point and graph it. When I want to, I select to take a point and graph it, then I'll change the independent variable and then select again one point and graph it, showing a curve of what I have, and so on. I know that for this maybe I'll need to store those single points with an array or something. If anyone can help me, please do so. Thank you.

The data you acquire is received in array form and based on the sample size, you should be able to determine the number of points in the array.  Then simply decide which points you want and put them into a second array and plot that array.

  • Displaying multiplot XY graphs point by point

Attached is a vi showing two methods for displaying plots point by point, the second method is usually but not suitable for my application because it needs one shift register per plot.
I'd use the simplest method (the first) to display a graph with only one  shift register but the XY graph does not accept more than 2 plots!

This may just point out my relative newness to LabVIEW, but what is the problem with having a separate shift register for each plot on the graph?

  • How to adjust the scale of a graph using reference points?

    Hi,
I'm working on some code to display data from a spectrometer.  I've got to the point of producing an energy vs. intensity graph, but I'm having some problems calibrating the x axis (energy).
The customer wants to be able to insert filters with a cut-off at known energies, and use those points to work out what positions on the graph correspond to what energies.  In programming terms, I need to  let the user click on the graph at two points with known values, and use those points to recalculate the XScale multiplier and offset (I think).
I've tried a few different things, and attached  by best attempt so far.  It's a simplified example, but I hope it captures enough of the problem to be useful.  I can't help thinking there must be a simpler way to do this.  Any suggestions?

What you have done is good. The only thing that I would have a problem whit is there is no visual response on the graph for the user. You can also do this with cursors. Let them slide cursors on to the two points. It is more visual and you can see where you have selected. I am not sure that it will be much easier than what you have done. You could also use a hybrid of the two methods and have the cursor move to the point that you have selected.

  • Creating multiple point to point connection

Consider me mostly a newbie. I have a router that's connected to a WiFi radio system. The radio is, for all intent and purposes, transparent to the network.
Point is now, I want to connect via the same WiFi radio system to 4 other routers (each other router has the same radio system) on a point to point basis.
All five routers have static IPs.
The need is to create 4 static point-to-point link, over 1 single interface on the router that's connected to the radio system.
Can this be done? Is so, how? Help please?

First of all, I do not really see the advantage of configuring this as point-point. Appearently you want to make all traffic flow over the central router? The radio is actually a point-to-multipoint medium by nature. This means that the bandwidth on the link will be shared, no matter what you configure.
You could "enforce" point-point behaviour by means of static routing. On all spoke-routers you configure a single static route 0.0.0.0 with the hub router as the next hop.
On the the central router you can then put statics to the respective destinations. Very important is to use the interface command "no ip redirects"
This prevents icmp redirects being sent which would cause non-point-to-point behaviour. This implies that you have used the same ip subnet for all routers. This is what I would configure for this case.
Alternatively, you may use different subnets per router and apply secondary IP's on the hub.

  • Problem , about JMS sender in Point-to-Point Domains

    Hi all,
I study jms tutorial in chapter 4,and i have a question.
In the Point-to-Point example,i send two message(1,2),and then
    i send two message again(3,4).
Now,i start SimpleQueueReceiver to receiver the message,
it will show 3,1,2,4 in this sequence, but why?
    Why not 1,2,3,4
    Is it a queue?
    Could you help me?
    Thank you.

Ordering of messages is not guaranteed in case of multiple receivers.
This is so with single client also. But Most servers deliver the messages in the order it arrives.

  • Firewall necessary for Point to Point internet connections?

Firewall necessary for Point to Point internet connections? We have multiple point to point t1 connections to our sites and was wondering if a firewall should be in place to filter traffic. We are also implenting a microwave t1 from a service provider and was wondering if firewalls would be needed for just this or the wired as well. According to the microwave company no firewalls are needed. Do i really want to leave security in the hands of the ISP?

    Matt,
If you are buying private line T1 service from a carrier that connects 2 of your sites you would not use a firewall. Your traffic is never mixed with any other traffic. If your data is very sensitive, or if you have to comply with Payment Card Industry standards then you might want to encrypt your data, but a firewall would still not be necessary.
If you have a T1 connecting you to the Internet for Web browsing etc then you very much do need a firewall.

  • How to make a Line Chart curved instead of straight from point-to-point?

I have a Line Chart that is is very jagged and plots directly from point to point, like this:

Is this possible in Xcelsius 2008?  I couldn't find anything in the graph's properties and I also had no luck when searching google/these forums for a solution.  Thanks for the help!

  • 1300's in Secure point to point deployment

I'm looking to recommend to deploy pairs of aironet 1300's as point to point bridges in multiple sites, but need some assistance on the limits of the security functionality. I need an absolutely/uncrackable secure way for the 1300's to authenticate/encrypt to each other and disallow all other radio connections. All the examples I found so far dont address the point to point model in necessary depth security wise. Any pointers here ??
    thanks
    Martyn Beck

Couple of options, you can use WPA + TKIP or AES which is pretty secure and doesn't rely on any external auth servers. Another alternative is to use the built in radius server on the bridges. Top line security would use an external radius server (assuming you can do so). As to it being absolutely uncrackable, there isn't any such thing! : ) By the way, forget MAC security, it isn't worth the bother and doesn't add much to the security of the setup.

  • Why we choose mpls over point to point only because it is cheap

I need a document explaining the advantages and disadvantages of converting point to point connectivity to MPLS and the plan / suggestion to overcome the disadvantages

    Hi,
Converting a network that consists of point-to-point links to run MPLS can have benefits. This is regardless of the type of links you have in the network.
One starting point could be this one:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiprotocol_Label_Switching
The big benefit that comes with deploying MPLS in your network is the ability to run the MPLS applications. Here are the most important ones:
-MPLS VPN - Layer 3 (with multicast)
    -MPLS VPN - Layer 2 - point-to-point or point-to-multipoint
    -MPLS Traffic Engineering - point-to-point or point-to-multipoint
Each of these have their benefits, while running over a one common network : an IP network with MPLS enabled.
    The most important benefits are:
L3 VPN : obviously gives you seperated VPNs, with the possibility of overlapping IP subnets
extreme easy provisioning of layer 3 VPNs
L2 VPN: supports transporting most supported layer 2 protocols, even protocols with clocking information
MPLS TE: steering of traffic through the network and extremely fast traffic protection
These are just the most important ones.
All of these applications run on one common network, while before MPLS, one needed to have multiple carrying networks (e.g. one Frame-Relay network, one ATM network, one IP network) in order to provide all the same functionality.

    Luc

  • JMS MQ Point to Point.

    Hi Guys ,
need to ask a little bit of concept here
    Lets Say
    i have a sender A send to Queue B
Then in another end somewhere there is an existing instance listening to this Queue B
at the moment A send messages to Queue B , the messages will be extracted by the instance which is listening to Queue B?
then if i created a new receiver , it cannot extract message from B since its point to point so
there should be one sender and one receiver??
or many sender but one recevier??

    Your understanding is correct.
    For Point to Point
Can have multiple senders and consumers but each message will be read once and once only (assuming it isn't set to expire).
If you need a message to be read by more than one consumer you have to duplicate it and write it to a separate queue (or do something with message selectors)
    For Topics
Can have mutliple senders (publishers) and consumers (subscribers), each message will be available to all subscribers for the lifetime of the message
