It's a good idea to do so, otherwise you will have to restore as a new device because everything will have been erased.

Image cache levels: 4I have never had to reinstall any program for a video driver.
Now, check out the instructions for your particular nVidia driver, and the exact steps can differ. Just did my Quadro FX-4500 and it was just an install over the older driver. However, looking at another nVidia card's driver, and there were 3-4 settings in the nVidia console, that had to be reset BEFORE installing that driver. Did not affect me, but would have been a different operation for the next guy, with a different nVidia card. nVidia makes it easy with the necessary instructions - follow those to the letter, or issues can arise and the entire driver can get hosed. Things could be a simple as download, and execute, to having to do several things before you execute.

If I want to upgrade my operating system I must to backup my old app or they will be thare after the upgrade .
You should always have a backup because your computer's hard disk can fail at anytime, just using it normally.
Most upgrades perform without a problem, but you would be safer to have a backup in case there was a problem.
There are several backup strategies. One recommended method is to back up to an external hard drive, using software from Disk Utility's Restore, or Superduper! or CarbonCopyCloner.

iPhone is stuck on old ID and won't let me change the ID in settings to get into Cloud. Want to sync phone to Cloud before updating the Systems. No such problem on other phone or 2 iPads linked to account. Help!

That was just a typo.
I have three accounts set up in Mail, one of which, apart my the username which is my son's, has exactly the same settings as the one that isn't working and remember it's affecting all my devices.
I would feel happier even if I could create a fourth account on my MacBook Pro using what I know to be the correct password for the server but when I try it keeps defaulting to imap type, I don't get an option for Pop which is what I need.

I followed the instructions of iTunes to update my iPhone 4 to iOS 6. iTunes backed up my data, and after much difficulty, iOS 6 was installed. Now when I try to restore my last backup, it fails. The first attempt stopped when there was about 9 minutes to completion, and subsequent attempts have ended in fails.
Are there any workarounds to get this restored? Right now the phone is pretty much useless, and I want my saved pictures, etc. back!
Thanks for any assistance!More than likely it's not the backup itself that's taking that much time, it's the download of iOS 6.1.2 from the Internet... Depending on your Internet connection speed, this could take quite a while.

Is Iphoto Twain compliant? Or must I buy another program before installing a CyberView X scanner?
I want to install a CyberView X-SF scanner to convert my photographic slides to digital format. The product manual says I must install Twain compliant software before installing the scanner driver CD. Is iPhoto or Mavericks Twain compliant, or do I need to upgrade to Aperture or another more powerful program?
As neither iPhoto nor Aperture have any ability to scan images it doesn't matter. You can with whatever software comes with the scanner, or Image Capture, or any other 3rd party app, then import the scans to iPhoto or Aperture.
One tip: scan to RGB, it's what cameras shoot and what these apps support. -

I have an iMac running OX 10.5.8
I need a portable external hard drive to back it up before updating the software to Yosemite but I can't find anything that doesn't require you to be running at least OX 10.6. When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box. This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands. It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.

i have to restore my phone from back up but in order to do it i had to update my software. now that my software is updated there isnt enough room on the phone to back up. is there a way to only restore certain things from the backup like contacts?
Because it says it's incompatible when it can't be, I got hope. I get error messages all the time with my iPod and iPhone that it cannot sync and that 'this device is not capapble of connecting to iTunes' stuff. I literally forget that happened, plug it in again and it works, I later realize that iTunes made a mistake, they do that.

The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.
If you don't have a backup for the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and don't have an iCloud backup that hasn't been updated since choosing to transfer the backup for your iPod Touch to the iPhone, the data that was on the iPhone is gone.
