MXML Dynamic Object Creation

Hi ,
Static Object Creation :
Eg:
    <mx:Fade id="ViewStack_EffectStart" duration="500" alphaFrom="0.0" alphaTo="1.0"/>
    <mx:Fade id="ViewStack_EffectEnd" duration="500" alphaFrom="1.0" alphaTo="0.0"/>
<comp:ErrorBox id="errorBox" active="{active}" showEffect="{ViewStack_EffectStart}" hideEffect="{ViewStack_EffectEnd}"/> .
The above static objects is working fine, but the problem is that we have lot of similiar static object which creates a memory issue.If we create dynamic objects, will it avoid the issue.Is dynamic objects advisible?.
Thanks in advance.Please reply ASAP.
Thanks ,
San.

hmn.. I don't understand your questions fully.
What about create the fade object in "Model" and reference the same Fade object for all dynamic objects?
or r u asking to find out how to create fade in actionscript?
var fade:Fade = new Fade();
fade.target = this;
fade.alphaFrom = 0;
fade.alphaTo = 1;
fade.play();
hope this helps,

  • Java Core Program :: Dynamic Object Creation for Classe & Invoking the same

    Hi,
    I need to create a dynamic object for a class & invoke it.
    For eg: I have a table in my DB where all the names of my java classes are stored. I need to call name from the table of the DB and call that class dynamically in my java program.
    ResultSet_01 = executeQuery("select classname from class_table where class_descrip = 'Sales Invoice' ");
                   while(ResultSet_01.next())
                        String class_name = ResultSet_01.getDouble("classname");
                   }Now using the string in class_name that is fetched from ResultSet_01, I need to create an object for the class_name & invoke the class that is been created with the same name.
    Thank in advance.
    Regards,
    Haider Imani

    Well for a start since a class name is a String, not a number you'd better start by getting the name with getString() not getDouble().
    You need to work with fully qualified names, (FQNs) like "com.acme.myproject.MyDynamicClass", not just the bare MyDynamicClass.
    The next question is where the .class files for the dynamically loaded classes are stored. If they are part of your normal program code, on the class path, then you can use Class.forName to load the class and return a Class object. If they are in some special place you'll need to create a URLClassLoader and get the Class from that.
    Generally, when you load a class this way, it should implement some known interface, or extend some know abstract class. By placing objects of the dynamic class in a reference to that interface you can use the methods defined in the interface.
    The usual way of getting an instance of a dynamic class is to call newInstance() on the Class object.

  • How to use reflection package for dynamic object creation

    I want to convert a "DataObject (SDO) " into "Pure java object".
    For this i want to create a java object with the fields in Dataobject, and this should be in generic way.

    Use Java reflection if you have the java class already created.
    Otherwise use Java IO API for creating the .java file and compile it dynamically by calling javac exe from java code and executing using reflection

  • Cost of object creation vs reflection?

    How does the cost of invoking a method using reflection compare to the cost of object creation? Thank you,
    ranko

    i agree. in such cases, you should do the simplest thing that could possibly work. there are legitimate uses for reflection. without reflection, we have no core serialization mechanism. without serialization, we have no core RPC mechanism (RMI). no dynamic proxies without reflection. all those neat visual building tools are hampered without reflection. ORBs and scripting languages like Jython are hindered.
    note that the legitimate uses of reflection shown above tend to be for core JDK, or for development tools. that should be a clue to the developer that unless you're building these kinds of systems, you should reconsider whether reflection is necessary.
    that said, reflection has a high "cool" factor. i think that's what sucks developers toward it. it sucked me in, that's for sure. 8^)

  • Create a dynamic object HELP PLS!!! URGENT

    hi
    I would like to create an object(e.g. a torch ... this will be created using 3D MAX or VRML) which can be viewed in an applet, where the object will dynamically grow by just keying in values. Is this possible?? If so can you pls tell me how OR point me to the right directions on where i can find more information. Thx in advance!!!

    It's definitely possible. I have seen quite a few people
    with interactivity problems, though, after loading their
    objects from files. You will have to interfere with the
    object creation process enough to allow changes to your
    object after getting your scene live. This is the first
    you will need to check: How to set the capabilities for
    your loaded object. Second, I would advise you to have
    a look at transforming and translating. You will need to
    define transformations which - when applied to some
    object - result in changing its size. It would probably
    be easier to use distance instead of real resizing. In
    other words: The object at the beginning is some distance
    away, when you start "enlarging" it, it is moved closer
    to the viewer, thereby visually growing. Truly enlarging
    something to scale will be a lot more difficult, I'd
    think. Oh, and one other thing, since you said, it should
    be an applet: You DO know, that Java 3D by default is not
    supported by browsers without first installing the Java 2
    and Java 3D plugins, right?

  • Fetching Dynamic Object issue

    Hi all,
    Instead of define an variable as external (due to size limitation), I decided to use session.getInstanceData to obtain the value in an instance variable. While things works well on my environment, it does not work out in the QA environment. The following is how I do it:
    DynamicObject instanceData =
    session.getInstanceData(instanceInfo.getId());
    Map dataMap = instanceData.asMap();
    //Get screening result
    String resultStr = "";
    boolean hasResult =
    dataMap.containsKey("screeningResults");
    if (hasResult){
    Object resultValue =
    dataMap.get("screeningResults");
         resultStr = resultValue.toString();
    I have also log the content of screen result inside the activity:
    logMessage("leaving ... "+this.activity.name +" with screening results="+ this.screeningResults);
    At my environment, I can see the content pass from the engine back to PAPI. However, on QA environment, I see the content show on the engine log (due to the logMessage) but PAPI gets empty string back.
    At first I thought it is due to the "Max Instnace Size limitation", so I upped the limit to 2000kb, but it still doesn't solve the issue. So anyone got any idea what did I do wrong or forgot to handle? Thanks!
    Matthew

    Can I create dynamic object?Depends what you mean by "dynamic object." That term is not part of standard Java parlance, AFAIK.

  • Error #1056, creating dynamic object

    Hi,
    I am simultaneously creating an object and adding it to an array, perhaps ill-advisedly. The following code worked on the main timeline, but not when I moved it to the constructor of a document class:
    package {
         import flash.geom.Point;
        import flash.display.MovieClip;
        public class IconTour extends MovieClip {
            var thePoint:Point = new Point();
            var defaultColor:Number;
            var overColor:Number;
            var iconCreationList:Array = new Array();
            //var xx:MyIcon;
            public function IconTour(){
                thePoint.x=50;
                thePoint.y=300;
                defaultColor=0x7dc2df;
                overColor=0x788dec;
                iconCreationList.push(this["xx"+iconCreationList.length] = new MyIcon(thePoint,"folder","Text for the folder", "Folder", defaultColor, overColor));
                for each (var iconObject:MyIcon in iconCreationList) {
                    addChild(iconObject);
    The following error is generated:
    >ReferenceError: Error #1056: Cannot create property xx0 on IconTour.
        at IconTour()
    I guess this is because xx0 isn't declared? How does one declare a dynamic object/variable?

    Nope. No mention. However, I guess I don't need to dynamically create a variable as this works:
    iconCreationList.push(xx = new MyIcon(thePoint,"folder","Text for the folder", "Folder", defaultColor, overColor));
    iconCreationList.push(xx = new MyIcon(thePoint,"assignments","Text for the assignment", "Assignments", defaultColor, overColor));
    where this does not:
    iconCreationList.push(this["xx"+iconCreationList.length] = new MyIcon(thePoint,"quiz","Text for the quiz", "Quiz", defaultColor, overColor));
    iconCreationList.push(this["xx"+iconCreationList.length] = new MyIcon(thePoint,"assignments","Text for the assignment", "Assignments", defaultColor, overColor));
    AS doesn't care if I add more than one object to the array that is named xx. I probably won't be referencing xx by that name anyway, just by iconCreationList[1].

    Is the string pool is part of a heap? Huh? I suppose yes, you could regard the String pool as part of the heap... but (I guess) that interned String objects would be placed directly into the permanent generation, which is not garbage collected... and therefore I don't really think of the permanent generation as part of the heap (except when tuning heap allocations)... but I think I'm talking over your noob head here, yes... and so to the noob-stuff.
    If you get bored you might like to scan (for now) http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/hotspot/gc/gc_tuning_6.html#generations ... and come back to it in a couple of years time (when every second word isn't new and baffling to you;-)
    jvm what will do when he encounter the following code,
    String s1 = new String ("hello");The VM will:
    1. Create a new String object, and then
    2. copy the characters 'h','e','l','l','o' from the interned String "hello" to the new String,
    3. and then assign a reference to the new String to variable s1.
    Note that the result is subtley different from String s1 = "hello", which just does step 3... it assigns a reference to the existing interned String object "hello" to the variable s1... it does not create and "populate" a new String object.
    Try this just for fun... what is the output of the following program? Why?
    package forums;
    public class StringEquals
      public static void main(String[] args) {
        try {
          String a = "Hello";
          String b = "Hello";

          String c = new String("Hello");
          System.out.println("a==c is "+(a==c));

    Simply you can't.

  • While Loop - Object Creation

    Hello,
    I have a question on object creation and while loops. Have a look at the following code snippet:
    while(true)
           Object obj = new Object();
           // Pass off obj to a new thread
           Thread job = new Thread(new ObjectHandler(obj));
           job.start();
    }My question is, do I have to wait until the newly created Thread is finished with the Object obj before I can create a new Object called obj in the while loop?
    Also does anyone have any documentation on this sort of thing?
    Thanks,
    Tony.

    When you pass an object to a method in java you pass it a copy of a reference to that object. Leading on from that, before an object is eligible for garbage collection in java, all references to that object must be dropped.
    So with all that in place, my question was, is the creation of an object in a while loop dependent on previous objects of the same name? Objects don't have names. Have we mentioned that before?
    You have a reference, larry that is referencing an unnamed object. You can also create other references that reference the same object. The thread will have one reference. You can then make larry reference another object. That will not change anything in the thread. It will still reference the old object, and that object will not be claimed by the gc until that thread stops referencing it.
    So the second time we go through the loop below, do we have to wait until larry has been garbage collected, before a new larry can be created?Read the articles/tutorials and what I have written above. What do you think?
    Do also note that the GC isn't executed synchronously.
